Hello, I hope everybody is doing well. This is going to be fast cause I've been sick all this week and I am still sick. So I couldn't do my exercises and also I had a very heavy meal on mother's day. I lost 0.7 lbs.

stlrsgrl43. You are SO close to onederland! You can do it within a week or 2!

I.wanna.be.cute You kept the scale going in the right direction. Good for you!

ange82 Wow! You look great!

Beeps Way to attack the home stretch of this challenge!

Today is my weigh in and I only lost .2 pounds even though I have really exercised consistently. I am a bit bummed and a bit scared of the upcoming Mother’s Day weekend.

Hi everyone. I hope it's not too late to join the challenge. I added my name to the spreadsheet if that's okay. I want to finish off the last 10 pounds.

Beeps2011 05-09-2018 03:44 PM

...Dukan is something I really cannot stick to.

I am pretty made I plunked down $149US to do it. I am waaayyyy off-track, lol. Dukan no-likey.

I do not have a big eating window, and so, when I just try and do "pure protein", I am totally famished by bedtime. So, I try and eat my Dukan oat bran near bedtime. And I can do that solidly....FOR ONE DAY.

Day two, which is Protein and Veggies, I am doing great all day, and then at bedtime. BOOM. In go the carbs...

Sigh.

I need to find a better opportunity, that includes some kind of carbs, that are NOT fruit. (I really don't eat fruit because I don't like fruit.) That are low-calorie.

Beeps2011 05-09-2018 03:45 PM

On the "good news" front, yesterday I lifted for 60 minutes, and then I went for a 90-minute walk last night. So, my exercise is quite good...and I tend to keep cardio on the back-burner - don't prefer to do it that much - because it makes me REALLY HUNGRY and then I totally overeat.

Soooooooo, this week, I am trying to put in a bit more cardio (i.e. walking) without stuffing my face.

Sigh.

I kinda suck at challenges, lol.

Beeps2011 05-10-2018 03:32 PM

Well, I did yoga, today. And that is about the only win. Last night, the stress boiled over and my husband and I fought all night. And the teens fought with each other all night. Sigh.

I have to return to all the Gottman materials I have, because our marriage is just **** right now.

So, I don't have high hopes for my weigh-in this saturday....I don't seem to be doing anything very right just now.

ange82much 05-10-2018 05:25 PM

sorry to hear you've hit a rough patch at home Beeps. It's good you have the yoga for some time out. Hope it all gets easier very soon and you're back even better than before

ange - your pictures look great!

kfunk6113 05-11-2018 08:09 AM

Gigimom- congrats on your loss, all the small losses really do add up! Count me in on feeling nervous about this weekend. We have our daughter’s family bday party tomorrow and then will be busy all day with our moms. We can do it!!

Momtopands- That is awesome that you are at a new low!!! I hope that you get your whoosh soon!

Flower- welcome!! Its nice to have you here!! Do you have a plan to tackle the last 10? I feel like I have been in the 160’s forever (my own fault for sure) and hope that I can get serious and make it through the next decade a bit easier.

Beeps- I think it’s awesome that you are exploring plans to see what works best for you, I think that is the most important part. It sounds like you are kicking butt with your workouts, great job! I am sorry that things aren’t great at home right now; I hope that they turn around. Things can feel so overwhelming, but as long as you do the best you can with what you have it will be alright.

Beeps2011 05-14-2018 11:42 AM

Thanks for all of your support! I did reach into our Gottman materials and pulled out the "aftermath of an argument" and hubby and I worked through that and I feel we are all the stronger for it. Because we do NOT fight very often, we are pretty UNpractised at it and I think it wrecks both of us because pretty quickly we are emotionally depleted. With this "aftermath of an argument" approach, I can see how we can actually build our relationship up, even knowing that some arguments are 'perpetual' and ain't never gonna get straightened out. So, managing the conflict on those "trigger" matters, seems like a really SMRT idea!

Beeps2011 05-14-2018 11:45 AM

Okay, so, back to the business of diet and fitness:

- I did lose 1.6 lbs this week. GREAT! My 4-week plateau is OVER.
- if I lose 4 more lbs, I am in the "good enough" space. If I lose 9 more lbs, I will feel like I am in the "great!" space.
- I am going to drink more water. I always say this - and I DO drink A LOT of water (like in the 2.5L-3L per day range), but I am going to ramp it up.
- It is so nice out, today, that I might drop my after-work cardio class (indoors at the gym) and instead find a gf to go for a really long walk with. Too nice to ignore this weather.

Also, gotta watch my carbs!! I do waaaayyyyy better if I drop bread and rice and starch for like 4 days straight - then even my SUGAR cravings deplete to almost nothing. It is WAAAAAYYYYY easier for me to drop some scale-pounds if I just do NOT eat starch. Like period.

ange82much 05-14-2018 06:22 PM

Beeps, you're back! That's great news. Well done on the weight loss. Sounds like you know what works for you. I can recommend aiming for the "great"!!
Fantastic that you're sorting things out with hubby too. It must be that if you're both prepared to work out your differences that you have a very good chance of success, so it seems like you have found a good 'un
