Kudos to everyone for their losses this week and to those of us who are still participating. I had a small loss (.6) this week.

Munchey: I hope the rain held off so you could go to the riding ctr.

Ange - congrats on making it to goal in this challenge - awesome job!

morningglory - I hope the timing and change in meds will help with the scale.

I’m checking in on my phone so just a quick drive by. Long story short, down a half a pound to 207 and don’t like the time change.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

154.4 today. Not a very big loss this week, but after last week's big one I can be content with this.

My sister is still in "watch and wait" mode so my life is still pretty hectic. (munchey, it's a partial bowel obstruction that she is dealing with.) She is not in very much pain, I'm thankful for that, but she is weak and just doesn't feel good so I'm still making a couple of trips back and forth from MA to ME each week. She sees the specialist on Friday and if things haven't changed by then they will schedule surgery. So I will not be online much this week but I will be thinking of you all and quietly cheering you on!

I took a vacation, with girls, and I was totally out of control with eating. So back to trying...

Hey Everyone:
I'm having a problem with getting the 3-11-18 chart uploaded to the website where my graphics are hosted. I'll try in the morning. Sorry about the delay.

The weekly stats, for 3-11-18, appear on the chart below. I'm sorry I'm a bit late with the results, due to technical difficulty with the host site for the chart. Got to get my rear in gear and off the computer. I'll check back this evening.

Congrats to everyone for their accomplishments! Ange82much is in the lead this week. BlondieCJ is 2nd and Flower1 is in 3rd places. Thanks to everyone who is still participating. I hope everyone has a great week!

PLEASE NOTE: If you did not provide a weight entry for this week, you won't appear on the chart. If you provide a weight entry next week, you will appear on that chart. A red weight/lb entry indicates one of the following: Participant did not provide a weight entry for that weigh-in, or participant provided a weight after Monday.

ange82much 03-14-2018 02:21 PM

Thanks for doing this Munchey and well done for overcoming the technical difficulties!
Grannynancy - you're going gangbusters. A great week for you, and you're making some solid progress recently.
I'm still away with work and it looks like i'll be moving to another customer directly from here, so I probably won't have access to any scales for this weeks weigh-in. I've stuck to my plan with my eating and tried to limit portions (it's all self service - i'm at a mining camp, so easy enough), cut out the carbs, and no snacks, so that's all happening, but it's hard to say what the scales might think at the end of it all :) Yesterdays roast veggies were laden with oil which i'm not used to any more, so I felt really greasy after that (in fact I still do now about 12hrs later!). On the plus side, my belt for my work trousers could definitely do with another hole cutting :)

grannynancy 03-15-2018 07:47 AM

Ange - thanks. This truly has been hard since late January. It is like I am having to fight for each and every pound. July to January was easy and the weight just flew off. If I did not have so much more to go I would be tempted to drop those calories even more but averaging below 1100 I think is enough. I can't exercise all day so I am going to set a timer for every 30 minutes at work and get up and move in addition to the regular exercise. Standing all day would be too much [standing desk] - I can tell the days I am just doing yardwork etc I may not get in the steps but am burning way more calories! Maybe doing a flight of stairs every 30 minutes would be good.

ange82much 03-15-2018 08:56 PM

grannynancy sounds like you're all over the eating side - big achievement for you this year is having stuck to your plan even though the scale was being mean - now it's working with you again. Are you feeling any better in yourself since late Jan even though you've not been happy with your plateaus? i.e. any NSV's to report?
Your 30min get-up-and-move plan sounds good too. I certainly have a lot to improve on with the exercise side myself....
Fantastic effort all round!

grannynancy 03-15-2018 09:02 PM

Ange82much. I really remember a while back reading that there are any number of ways people can lose weight but that stalls and challenges are par for the course and that those who succeed are those who simply stick with it and don't give up.

Yes, Finally out of the XLs and feeling good about the continued exercise improvements. Walking speed is going up. RHR is going down. etc.

HEY EVERYONE:
We have had rain, off and on, for the last week. My training class on Sunday got cancelled, but they did hold classes at the riding center on Monday and Wednesday, so I got in high mileage on those days. I got to the gym on Tuesday and plan to go again tomorrow.

I seem to be on a roll this week with losing my Fitbit. On Monday, it fell in my bedroom and I eventually found it. At the moment, it's lost again. I think it fell off while I was pulling some weeds in my back yard. I made one search to try and find it, without success. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Ange82much:

It's okay to just carry forward your last posted weight for this week's weigh-in. It's good news that the belt for your work trousers could use another loop. Be careful that you don't lose your trousers, LOL. Sometimes, that can be a problem for people who lose weight (especially if low rise).

Some people use a paper towel to blot off grease on food. I remember a year or so ago, there was a recommendation for people to blot off grease on their pizza to shave off some calories.

Blondiecj:

How are things going for you?

Curvynotlumpy:
Congrats on losing .5 lbs. I'm sorry you are having difficulty with the time change. It is hard to get up in the morning, but I like the extra light at the end of the day.

flower1:

Congrats on your .6 lb loss. You are heading in the right direction. The training class at the riding center was cancelled, due to rain. They rescheduled it for 3-25-18, so I'm looking forward to that.

GrannyNancy:
A 2.4 lb loss for the week ending 3-11-17, is fantastic. You have lost 13.2 lbs. in this challenge so far (a weekly average of 1.46 lbs a week). That's something to celebrate.

Your idea of getting in extra movement throughout the day is a good one. It can be surprising how all efforts add up. Everyone has a different situation, but a variation of things are possible.

Heidi58:
I'm sorry that your sister is still struggling with an obstruction. I hope
things improve by Friday and that she doesn't have to have surgery. Making the trip from MA to ME each week has to add stress to the situation.

Thoughts and prayers your way.

Stlrsgrl43:
Hope you are having a good week!

Sum38:
Hope you had a good vacation. Good to see you are back to trying!

grannynancy 03-16-2018 09:56 AM

Munchey - many of the trackers anymore are set up so you can make them vibrate from your phone. May want to see if your fitbit can do that! I have found my phone with my watch and my watch with my phone!

ange82much 03-16-2018 04:05 PM

I'm back - customer #2 visit didn't work out, so i'm very happy about being home for the weekend after all.
The scale says I've lost another 2lb so i'm also very happy about that (but will wait to see what tomorrows weigh-in is for my official weekly submission).

I can't believe how easily I've found it this last 2.5 months to stick to my plan. I've literally had zero occasions when I've eaten something I shouldn't or when I've eaten more than I should. And I've not really even had many occasions where I've been tempted to do otherwise. What has brought on this self-discipline?? How can i make it last? And how can I sell it!!! Hahahahaha

I've been out and had a few drinks and meals in restaurants a few times etc, and been to a lot of parties, but have stuck to whatever plan I had on each occasion, so this has made a massive difference to me compared with my other 49 years of dieting where I've tended to slacken off on the weekend. 5 days on and 2 days off just doesn't do it for me, but this 24/7 thing is working quicker than I've seen before (no big surprise I guess, but you know....). Perhaps being older helps in social situations where everyone is expecting you to indulge too. I'm old enough to not care what they want me to do! Anyway enough introspection for a Saturday morning.

Happy weekend everyone :coffee2:

flower1 03-17-2018 12:54 PM

Hi everyone. This week so far has been pretty slow weight wise for me. So far only down about .4 but hoping for a bit more for tomorrow's weigh-in.

ange - great job losing weight while you were away!

curvynotlumpy 03-17-2018 01:58 PM

 and good morning!

It's been an up and down week for me with everything. I work at a university and this week was the last week of classes. Next week is finals week. I was out ill on Tuesday and I just seemed to spend the remainder of the week catching up and moving from meeting to meeting and task to task. I'm only now coming up for air. I remain at 207 this week. so no real progress weight wise. However, I am living vicariously through folks who are seeing progress. I'm looking at you ange82much and GrannyNancy! :bravo: ange82much for reaching goal and to you GrannyNancy with your steady and impressive progress down the scale. :goodscale
