gardenerjoy: Darn! I bet it will be back down in no time, though, especially with sodium being involved.
kfunk: I hope you enjoy your weekend holiday celebrations!
unwanted37lbs: Congrats on hitting your goal for the month!

Weigh-in was 212.0 today. Not much else to report, health-wise, but I am excited because my husband is finally coming back home tonight after being gone since the beginning of the month! I have to pick him up at the airport at 10:30ish, so it will be pretty late before we get home since it's over an hour away, but I'm still happy...lol.

joy You and me both!! After this month is over I have a couple bday parties towards the beginning of January and then it should be a month before we have another celebration... there are too many reasons to go off plan for me!
kfunk: It has been so awesome having him back already...it's really nice to have another adult, much less my best friend, back in the house again! Haha. Nice loss, by the way!
--------------------------------------
Weigh-in was a shock today at 210.8. It could make sense that I'm just catching up after fluctuating since the 19th, but I ended up getting really nauseous after dinner last night and had to chug some alkaseltzer (which is obviously pretty much just straight sodium) so I could feel okay enough to go pick up my husband at the airport, and then - after I was feeling better and had gone to get him - I ate half of his bag of Gardettos (very salty snack mix with pretzels, sourdough chips, etc - in case you've never heard of them) on the drive home, because he got them because he knew I loved them, too...and that was right before midnight, so much later than I typically eat. Needless to say, I expected a solid sodium gain today. Not complaining that I didn't, of course! Just going to be wary of what happens tomorrow to see if this was just a weird scale day or a wonderful surprise mini-whoosh. Fingers crossed for the latter!

Before checking in, I just want to say MERRYCHRISTMAS to everyone who is celebrating it today!
As for my weigh-in, it is pretty abysmal due to an impromptu night out at our favorite Mexican restaurant on Saturday, as well as going out to eat last night after some last minute Christmas shopping together. The damage is a hearty 4 pounds of bloat with a weigh-in today of 214.8...wow! That's without the cinnamon rolls and cookies we'll be doing today, lol. I know it is temporary, so I'm not going to stress about it too much - especially with the holidays - but, I know I will have to watch myself over the next couple of days so I don't end out the month showing no loss whatsoever. I hope you're all enjoying your holiday...or your Monday, if you're not celebrating...and that you don't do as much damage as I have done! Haha.

I hope that everyone has been well these past few days!
My husband had shoulder surgery on the 21st and then we had a couple busy days celebrating Christmas with our families. My little guy started vomiting in the middle of the night on the 24th and spent his Christmas sick. My husband started vomiting mid day yesterday so it was a bit of a bummer to spend Christmas like that. Luckily, the bug only lasted 11 hours so they are fine now.
I weigh in tomorrow and I am not looking forward to the number. I am close to my TOM and I couldn't have done worse on Saturday and Sunday with food choices.
unwanted it must feel great to be so far ahead of your new years goal, well done!! What are you doing to lose?
joy Thank you!! Merry Christmas to you as well. Thank you for putting so much time into these challenges!
ophelia Merry Christmas to you!! I believe our cycles are similar, so I am sure some of that bloat is due to the impending TOM. I am glad that you are enjoying the holidays and not stressing about a number on the scale. I plan on chugging water today to try to undo some of the damage I did from Saturday and Sunday. I did AWFUL, but am back on plan as of yesterday. I am going to do my best to make sure I finish the month strong. I really am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow.
kfunk: Oh man, it sounds like it has been rather eventful in your house lately!! I'm sorry that there has been the ickies going through your house and hoping your husband is recovering well from the surgery, in spite of it. Also hoping it completely skipped over you and you won't be getting sick as well any time soon! And, here's to us both being able to finish out the month on a stronger note that the last few days...lol.
--------------------------------------
Weight still seems to be in a tailspin from the last couple days, even though I was technically under calories yesterday, even with all the goodies. Still lots more junk food than what I have been used to, though. Weigh-in was up even more to 215.4 today. Going to start getting back into daily activity again tonight and will be drinking water throughout the day, since I didn't really drink any at all yesterday or the day before. Even my fingers seem a little more swollen from the water retention. Hoping I can get the scale to settle down a little and stop climbing tomorrow.

ophelia Thank you!! Prior to getting sick, his recovery was going splendid, hopefully he will be back feeling 100% today! Yes, lets finish strong!! I would LOVE to get back down to 172.8 which would leave me with a -3.4 lb. loss for the month, but I have a lot of ground to make up for that to happen! I can count 3 really off plan days for the month, seems extreme to have them potentially wreck the rest of the month for me! I am going to be chugging water today, for real!! I hope that the scale stops moving up for your weigh in today! Mine was worse than I was expecting, especially after 2 full days on plan.
kfunk: I finally drank enough water yesterday, and I think that has helped more than anything so far! Hoping to get back down to where I was before the week is over, but not sure with TOM coming to town...we will see. I hope your husband is back to 100% soon and that focusing on the water and continuing to stay on plan will help get in some losses for you before the end of the month, as well. Aaaand, that TOM will be nice to us both since I know yours will probably be starting soon, too....so, still keeping those fingers crossed for both of us! Haha.
--------------------------------------
The scale is finally starting to show signs of normalizing, and my weigh-in was back down to 212.0 today. I still haven't fully recovered, obviously, but I'm happy it is moving in the right direction now! Also, my husband is showing interest in losing weight with me again, and he actually joined me for my walk last night...which was the first one I have done since the night before he came back, so it was overdue! On top of that, we just went to the gym together this morning, which kicked my butt...lol. (I think that - on top of actually drinking 3 big bottles of water yesterday to help rehydrate - helped get my scale moving again...my body needed both so badly.) He even said he wants to go to the gym every day this week and then keep up a normal routine after that, so I am thrilled that he is doing this with me right now. I'm hoping this will help kickstart some post-holiday losses for me, as well! TOM started today, so hopefully that won't get in the way of getting back on track this week, scale-wise.

ophelia Man, you have some serious whooshes, totally jealous!! Awesome job getting in your water, I did much better yesterday, but there is still some room for improvement. Thank you for the well wishes for my hubby, he is back to his normal self so now only has to recover from his surgery. That is so cool that your husband is joining you on your walks and the gym!!! What do you normally do for workouts when you go there?
kelijpa You are doing amazing!!
joy I am looking forward to a fresh start in January!
I snuck a peak at the scale this morning to make sure I was going in the right direction and turns out I am still going up! Its not looking like I will be making it back down to the 172's but at this point I will try my best and see where the chips fall
kelijpa: You're so close...hope you're able to hit it over the next few days!
gardenerjoy: I think we'll all have a better month next month once all these holidays are over!
kfunk: It bumped back up a little today, but at least it didn't go all the way back up! I didn't do as well on the water yesterday, and I think that - on top of TOM - showed on the scale today. I think one of my main goals for 2018 will be proper water consumption, since I've been having such an inconsistent time with it since coming back. And, yes! I'm happy he is joining me. I'm much more comfortable going to the gym with a bunch of strangers when he is with me...lol. And, right now, I am doing half of my time on the elliptical and half of the time on the treadmill. I usually do all elliptical since it is such a good burn, but my stamina for it went to Heck (the actual word is blocked by 3FC...lol) in a handbasket over my summer break...haha. My poor butt is sore just from two days, if that tells you anything. I want to work myself back into a full hour on the elliptical, and then - in a couple months - I want to start hitting the weight room, as well. It's a little intimidating right now being on a military post with a bunch of soldiers who know what they are doing, but I am hoping that your book and my husband will both be able to help with that part! I'm going to start reading the book this weekend to get a head start on the material so I can just dive into it when I am ready to try lifting!
--------------------------------------
Weigh-in was up a little again to 212.6, which brings me to the same exact weight as the end of last week...so, I didn't lose OR gain anything during Week Four. Which I suppose is a victory in and of itself, considering I had an almost 5 lb bloat from celebrations this week on top of the fact that I'm on TOM right now, as well. So, I'm just going to chalk this week up to the holidays and just be thankful it cancelled itself out with some gym time...lol. Speaking of which, this morning was Day 2 of going to the gym with my husband, so I'm glad he's sticking with the plan.
