Okay, now that I have done my final weigh-in for the previous month, I am updating this post! I will be staying with my usual goal of about 10 lbs, but I'm going to round it up just a smidge to 10.4 lbs, so I have an even number for my goal of 222...that will finally put me back below where I was before this summer's move that threw me off the rails, and I will FINALLY feel like I am getting a fresh start back on track. It's sad that it will be the end of November before I'm back where I was back in MAY, but at least I will be back where I started and ready to keep moving down to break this 220s curse, lol.

Eep! Okay, count me in. Four pounds for the month of November, from 149ish to 145ish. I'm a bit apprehensive--just spend the summer/early fall maintaining so nervous about trying to lose again. But I want to get back into things!

chub 10-30-2017 11:41 PM

Count me in! I'm currently at 139 and would like to lose 5lbs to be at 134. This is a bit ambitious but it should be doable as I'm juicing for lunch for my november weekdays.

chub 10-31-2017 04:53 PM

139.2 this morning. I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing 138s tomorrow if I eat well tonight since I'll be running for a couple miles in addition to my 1hr cardio class.
Edit: I didn't workout as long as anticipated and had French fries and fried food for dinner but am still hoping to see the 138s :D

---------------------------------------

My first weigh-in was a whoosh to 230.4, but I barely drank any water yesterday, so I think I may be a little dehydrated! (Expecting a bit of a bump back up tomorrow, but hope not!) I was surprised to see a drop considering we always have pizza on Halloween, and I had 4 slices...they were smaller, but it's still FOUR slices...lol. I was careful with the candy, though, and only had one fun-size Snickers Almond bar all night for Halloween. I think skipping lunch in preparation for it helped a little, too. Now to continue to be as careful with this sudden MOUNTAIN of candy we have in the house, that's the challenge. I've even given out several gift bags of the best candies to the neighbors, and we still have a ton!

How was everyone else's Halloween? :witch:

Good luck everyone!!

ophelia Forgive me, you have answered this before... I believe you are calorie counting with IF, what is your calorie range that you try to stick to? I have been weighing my food on a scale and measuring everything the past few days and have been surprised to see my calorie intake is so high, but the scale is moving down. I have been obsessed with oatmeal lately and the way I make it brings the calories up to 600, but it tastes SO good and keeps me full!

The workout yesterday paid off with a whoosh!

opheliaphoenix 11-02-2017 05:42 PM

kfunk: My calorie range is usually between 1100-1600 cals, depending on the day. I usually try to plan for the sweet spot of 1200-1300, in case I end up indulging on an extra snack or a heavier-than-planned dinner -- that way, I will usually stay under 1600 by the end of the night. Night snacking is a killer for me, so I use those "buffer" calories more often than I'd like to admit...lol.

kymb92 & BlondieCJ: Nice losses! :)

chub: Yay, whooshes are my favorite!! Good job, lol. :cheer3:

--------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 230 on the dot today. I didn't go out for a walk last night, because I ended up having to do a massive grocery/household shopping trip since we seemed to have run out of everything all at once -- does that happen to you guys? I feel like, every once in awhile, it will be like -- *BOOM* -- everything is gone all at the same time. It's a pain in the butt when that happens, lol. But, anyway...I didn't get my walk in, but I definitely got some cardio in from that trip. I also ended up eating an entire pint of ice cream while watching TV tonight (thank goodness it was Halo Top and less than 300 cals), so I want to be better about that....the late night snacking is starting to creep back up on me, because we're marathoning a series on Netflix currently. That's always my biggest trigger. I just about hit my max calories, but - by some miracle - ended up staying ever so slightly under.

kymb92, chub and blondie - Great starts!!!

ophelia Good idea with leaving wiggle room! What time do you usually eat your first meal of the day? I really like IF and want to incorporate it into my weekends! The past 3 days I have been around 1700-1800 which is WAY higher than normal. Yes, it seems like we also run out of everything at the same time!! The worst is when I do a huge shop and then a couple days later I realize something else is low and needs to be replenished!

I am hoping the scale will keep going down to my last months low of 177 before it stalls out and starts to bounce around. I have been really bad at working out lately so need to start doing that!!

kfunk: I usually eat my first meal between noon and 1pm. And, I hate when that happens, too! I just had to run to the store again last night to get a couple more small items. My poor wallet is in pain right now, lol.

kymb92: That happens to me pretty often, as well...don't feel bad! Haha.

EagleRiverDee: Hopefully it's just a true drop for you instead of lingering dehydration. :crossed:

workinglikeadog: Best of luck! You've got this.

chub: Mine bounced back up a bit today, as well...hoping we both move back down tomorrow!

Up a little to 230.8 today. Chalking that one up to a salty dinner, since I made fajitas again last night. (Low cal, but LOTS of sodium...still have to be careful with them.) I ate the leftovers for lunch, so hoping I don't hold onto the water retention again tomorrow. We shall see. Not much else to report. Hope everyone is having a good evening! :grouphug:

eagle I hope that your weight loss a whoosh and not due to dehydration!!

working nice to see you here!! I hope that you regain your focus this month!

chub you still had a nice loss even with the rebound, I usually end up going back up slightly a day or two after a whoosh, but then it comes back down again!!

ophelia Hopefully you wont need to go back to the store for a while! We have a couple expensive little stores in town, but it is a good 25 minutes to get to Walmart or Aldi and it really sucks having to go back!! I usually feel too lazy afterwork to stop, but luckily my husband is awesome and never complains about going himself. I hope that the sodium has left and you are back down again!

opheliaphoenix 11-04-2017 04:43 PM

kfunk: Not quite yet, but I'm going to be better with the water today and see what happens tomorrow. Also, the weight is just falling back off of you right now...that is awesome!! Hoping it keeps up for you! :)

--------------------------------------

Weigh-in was down just a smidge to 230.6 today. I feel like my body is teasing me with the 220s, like it always does....I either start gaining again in the 230s, so I don't hit them - or I gain again in the 220s once I get there. I haven't been able to break what I call my "220s curse" since my husband and I were dating, and that was only by one pound. Before that, I hadn't been under them since I was 16. But, I am staying focused this time...I'm going to break into them and then out of them without being discouraged! I need to focus on being better about water, especially on days where I have salty meals like the fajitas. Two days of them back to back is making me feel a little bloated, lol. Time to wash that away!

I'm new - appreciate any help!!

Hey all! I need to do this November challenge. I just discovered 3FC and am hoping it gives me the accountability and challenge I desperately need. I am currently about 142 and need to lose about 15 lbs. (In the past 3 years I've gained 15). I just discovered I have a connective tissue disease and must try to eat clean. I have no motivation....and just cannot get it into gear.

I'm not sure how this forum works --- so I'll just submit this into cyber space and see what happens.

(November goal = -5 lbs)

kfunk6113 11-05-2017 09:51 AM

Ophelia I am hoping to do better with water today as well. I had a very sodium filled dinner so am up on the scale today. Also, going out to eat for dinner tonight so I am sure it will soar tomorrow! I am looking forward to watching you bust into the 219's!!

Welcome i.just.want.to.eat! I hope that posting on this forum gives you the motivation that you need. I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Good luck with your November goal! How often do you weigh in? Do you have any idea on how you want to try to tackle this (calorie counting, cutting carbs, etc:?)

Thanks. There are four things that could help me shake a few pounds this month.
-Challenging myself to at least a half hour of dvd exercise in the morning will get my day started right, since the weather is no longer inviting to be outside.
-Being more mindful of planning/eating healthy foods throughout the day, not just going for a chocolate square or cookie.
-I go shopping once a week for food. Some times I preplan and keep steady supplies and once in a while I discover I am out of everything too! Preplanning at least one meal for the week should make me look at supplies before shopping. Being mindful to buy healthy foods should also be helpful.
- Being very mindful of pm snacking (which is a bad habit of mine as well). I don't count calories for the day, but if mindful know if I can have a late snack.
:D You have helped me make an accountability plan :D

i.just.want.to.eat 11-05-2017 03:18 PM

Thanks!

Thanks kfunk6113!

I am planning on watching carbs....and calories. When I have a bad day and just want carbs --- I'll at least try to watch calories. I need to be realistic.

Do you think that should work?

Thanks for your post!

opheliaphoenix 11-05-2017 04:36 PM

i.just.want.to.eat: Welcome to 3FC! :welcome2:

kfunk: Hopefully, your dinner out didn't effect you too much today! And, me too...I think I will have a little dance party to myself when it happens.

workinglikeadog: Well, it sounds like a great plan!! I need to make sure I figure out something reliable to fall back on exercise-wise as well for the upcoming bad weather days where I just know I won't want to head out for a walk/jog. Getting prepared for those kind of days is a must!

--------------------------------------

Okay, I'm getting sick of this number now. :dizzy: Better down than up, but still....grr. It's frustrating, lol. However, I didn't go for a walk last night and, while I did a little better on the water, I still didn't do that great, so I'd say that's on me. Definitely going to MAKE myself get out and get moving today, so I can see if I can break this mini-plateau tomorrow. :running:

workinglikeadog it sounds like you have come up with a great plan!!!

i.just.want.to.eat- Yes, I think that will work!! Choosing a plan that you can stick with for the rest of your life will help you succeed!! I started changing a thing here, a thing there, so on. It wasn't overwhelming all at once and that made it way easier to stick to. I would suggest that you drink a ton of water, that makes a bigger difference than I could have imagined and its super easy! I have the food portion down pretty well, but I struggle with getting my workouts in. I have found that changing my diet was the biggest part to losing so far, but I would still like to find a routine that I can stick with for the health benefits exercise provides. You've got this!!

ophelia getting stuck is the most frustrating thing ever!! I hope that you break through it very soon!! I am up about a half pound from the weekend meals, but I am planning on chugging water today to see if I can get rid of some of it. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a gain tomorrow as a delayed response.

joy Congrats on your new low, that is FANTASTIC!!!

kelijpa That is awesome that you made it to the 150's for your bday!!! Happy belated bday, I hope that you enjoyed it!

kymb92 The body ebbs and flows - don't get frustrated - keep on keeping on!

I'm struggggggling...not gaining but, not working at losing. I am so disappointed in myself. I am so close to my next goal and I can't get my booty into gear.

I've been drinking water like crazy, so I don't think it's just dehydration. I added hill sprints last week to my outdoor walks, and that seems to have helped. :) I went a little crazy on carbs over the weekend which resulted in a little bump up, but I'm still pleased with the direction the scale is taking.

Blondie: WTG on being down 1 lb!

Chub: Nice whoosh! Did you do anything special?

Ophelia: Thanks for the feedback, and you're doing great! You have a very methodical approach to your weight loss which I think is great!

KFunk: The scale is in freefall for you! Amazing! What are you doing?

Diana: Good job defining your weaknesses, I think that's a very important step because now you know exactly what to avoid!

kelijpa: Happy belated birthday!! :celebrate:

kymb92: I just spent all week dealing with the same thing...hope you break through the 210 mark soon! :crossed:

kfunk: As always, I will be trying to get in a lot of water today, as well! Here's to flushing out some water retention. (We'll pretend that's water...lol.)

Blondie: When people get close to goals, the scale always seems to stall a bit, doesn't it? Keep pushing, and you'll be there before you know it!

EagleRiverDee: Hill sprints sound intense...nice work! :)

--------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 229.0 today, so I'm happy that my little mini-plateau seems to have finally broken, and I hope it keeps moving down from here on out. I want to push through as much of the 220s as I can before losing any momentum again...lol. I didn't head out for a walk until it was already dark out last night, but I was feeling so bad about not being consistent with it (and the resulting stall) that I found a path that keeps me in the neighborhood and adjacent neighborhoods with street lights, so my husband was more okay with me heading out after dark, because I was able to stay decently close to the house and still get in a 3.5 mile round with all the ins and outs. He said he might go with me today (for the first time since we've moved!), so I hope he does tonight...it's always nice having the company and a little alone time with him, even if it's just walking and talking.
