Hello February and to everyone who is doing this again! I lost 22.6 lbs last month, but I know that was just the first big whoosh of initial weight loss, so I am keeping my monthly loss goal of 10 lbs. I think that is keeping a more realistic expectation on things, especially with the initial water weight being gone already and this being a shorter month. Good luck, everyone! :high:

GardenerJoy Thanks for organising the challenge!

Good luck everyone! Here is to a supportive and successful February!

Ophelia Your January numbers are amazing, well done!

I started back my journey on 14th Jan and managed to lose 7.8lb and get back in the single digits of 200s range. This month, I would love to see onederland. I am going to work hard when I can and try to consolidate this 'new' eating regime as normal. I do have a weekend where 5 friends are visiting mid month and then an international trip at the end of the month which are bound to get in the way. But, I am sure that I can still record big losses if I am clean and thoughtful for the rest of the month. Bring it on!

Hello gardenerjoy,
Thanks for putting this together. I would like to join the challenge.

I decided that I am not going to have my weight as a measure of progress because it's not changing much, since I am working out and gaining muscle.

My goal is to hit 20.5% body fat this month. I just measured today, and I am at 21.0%.

Just a small goal because I am not in a hurry and am trying to change my habits in the process, cutting out sugars and flours, and for me changing my habits is the most important thing.

-------------------------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 271.8 this morning, after weighing in almost an hour late...which means I'm probably still stuck on my 272 plateau, technically speaking. Not sure what's up...I've been trying to be more active, drinking lots of water, not near TOM, and I haven't gone crazy on sodium, either. I think my body likes this weight for some reason, so it's going to have to snap out of that real quick...lol. I'm not getting discouraged, because I know it will pass, but it is frustrating.

Hi to all  Happy new month! :carrot: Nice to see you all.

Hope you all had a great start to the new month. Last month I hit goal with an 8.3 loss. For the spring challenge I have a goal of 20lbs. by March 20th (started the challenge Jan. , 11 weeks total). So far so good although next Monday is my 3 month mark on my journey and things will start to slow down for me. It might be tight but after much consideration I decided on a
6.7 loss for this month (184.3 as of today so goal is to get to 177.6). From there, the goal would be 5 lbs. by spring but now that I have that on the backburner, time to focus on TODAY and day by day tackling this month.

I wish you all success and health and look forward to this new month with you all.

Hi everyone, great to have so many people joining up for the challenge, good luck to everyone for meeting their February goals!

Seem to have had my post TOM whoosh this morning, which was appreciated! Normally I have a bit of a treat meal on a Thursday night and then an easier day on a Friday as it is my day off, but last weekend was a really off plan one and I have a couple more of those coming up this month so I plan to skip my 'treats' and see how my brain copes..... not sure if I am in enough of a habit yet or not, let's see!

Hi ladies, wanted to check in and wish you a Happy Friday and great start to the weekend, I really think this month is going to go by fast!

boatingmommy Thank you! :) Congratulations on having a loss last month, that is great! :carrot: do you boat in summer? I so cannot wait to get out there, I didn't even go once last year as I was laid up and thank goodness I am healed now. I have been working to get the muscles back in my leg (which I have) and improving strength in general. Onto a new month we go! :)

I did a pre weekend WI and am exactly the same since wed. so that is good I maintained. I just need to watch the weekend now, going out tonight and then sat. and sun strict o.p. With that being said, :dust: for us all over the weekend. Have a wonderful weekend ladies. I will check back soon.

Congrats on the losses ladies :cheer2::cheer2: nightsnacker I believe that there is no special weigh day and everyone just does what works best for them individually. Some people weigh in weekly, others daily, then you have someone like me who often reports more at months end lol. I am running a tight ship this month though so will be keeping a closer eye. WIshing you much success and that goes out to all. Catch up soon :)

opheliaphoenix 02-03-2017 02:03 PM

I forgot to say this earlier, but welcome to all the newcomers for the month!

LovelyLeah: Gotta love rogue banana slices...lol. Great progress so far!

takingcontrol: Me too! I am sick to death of them...ready to move down and out of here, lol. And, it sounds like you have a nice, productive day ahead of you!

Ronja: What is your fasting cycle?

NightSnacker: Great whoosh! Love when those happen. :yay:

Weekend Boater: Have a lovely weekend, as well! :)

Hi girls! :) Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I made it a point to check in more here this month and yes I love to be here.

I can't believe tomorrow is already the 4th! It is going to go by quick! Talk about buckling down this month!

Ophelia, your doing so great that I Hope you follow suit right now with your current plans. I love to hear about new plans, always nice to have them on the backburner, but when you find what is working for you that is fantastic! Keep up the great work! :)

Ronja, keep cranking my lady! :) keep us posted !

A big hello to anyone I missed and I hope to catch up to you all sooon.

I have 7800 steps down and as tired as I am probably will get up and get something in motion! No time like the present, as they say. Have a great night ladies and I look forward to seeing you all soon! Happy weekend!

LovelyLeah 02-03-2017 07:58 PM

opheliaphoenix 0.4lb is only a blip in the grand scheme of things. If you look at all the weight you've lost so far, does only 6oz matter? That's a turd right there ;). But I completely get how angering it can be when all you want to see is it moving down. Also I've been told (though it could be one of those myths) that your body retains more water after a longer or stronger workout to help with muscle repair. That could be complete BS but it makes me feel better. And be sure to throw this little speech in my face when I start getting frustrated too. Because I will. I definitely will....

__________________________________________________ ____

I'm expecting a jump tomorrow. Tonight is my husband's only night off from both jobs. He works about 80 hours a week so we generally like to do something more special for dinner. Tonight he wants Chinese food which I can't fault him for because I've been craving egg rolls for the past few weeks. While I'll try to go a somewhat healthier route I'm not going to worry about it too much. Sometimes it's better to just eat the real deal when you're craving something and get it out of your system. Instead I'll stick more to focusing on portion sizes. I'm just glad he wanted take-out instead of going to a buffet! I'm not sure I would have that much control.

I had to weight in twice to see if it was really true. I never thought it possible to lose almost 2 kgs in one day. Truth to be told my weight had stalled about a week before that so I was ready for a whoosh, but not of this sort. Even half of it would had been amazing! So yes, my frist fast day was great. I'm fully prepared for the scales to go up now as this is likely not sustainable, but still, it was lovely to see the number this morning and hope to see it again very soon :)

I think it largely depends on your current diet. I have been doing primal for over a month now and they say fasting is easy when you're on primal/paleo/super low carb diet. For me, that's absolutely true. I expected headaches, dizzines, tiredness, but nothing of it happened. I ate nothing all day and then had salmon with green salad for dinner. I felt hunger, but I wasn't ravenous and it was all very managable, so I'm hoping to do it twice a week now and very ready to see the results!

NightSnacker 02-04-2017 11:07 AM

My nice swoosh yesterday was a lie but that's ok I'll keep going harder. Friday is practically all day temptation for me, breakfast out with hubby, pizza and wing night with the kids. I did stay vl carb but too much of it and loads of fat. Just loads. Plus salt on top of salt. Going to try to do a near fast today and get back there.

Ronja wow! Fasting seems to work for you!!! May I ask where you are from? I am living in Portugal now and so slowly getting used to KGs. Originally from the UK so naturally use lbs and stones, but this site has got me well intune with lbs!! Think I like them because they go down more quickly ha ha

nightsnacker Two positives stand out to me, one, you know what has caused the increase and two, you are determined to keep going, well done!

Erm..... now my sieve brain comes into play and I can't remember who said what on the previous page....!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

I weighed in first thing this morning and was 0.8 down, had an early start at work so only having chance to log now. Now about to plan meals for the week and do some cooking. Better than expected for having Chinese last night. I have another challenging night tonight. It's my niece's 18th birthday and I'm not sure what my family is planning for food. I know there will be cake and ice cream. I've been craving cake for quite some time now. I have all the ingredients at home and I can't tell you how many nights I've wanted to make myself a whole cake. That means tonight I can have a small slice and enjoy it. I won't more than a small slice though since my sister will be making it and she always uses canned frosting. I grew up with homemade buttercream and I know how to make it really well. Unfortunately my sister never got the hang of it. But at least that makes it easier to resist eating too much! ;) Now I'm off to hit the gym and get in a workout before I have to head out and go by her gift.

Forgot to post here earlier and got busy...no time for personals still, but still wanted to pop in really quick to make my post before I forget again, lol. Weigh-in was 270.4 today. I hit my goal of 20 (8 oz) servings of water yesterday for the first time since coming back, so I think that helped flush back out whatever yesterday was about. Going to try to hit 20 again today to see what happens. See you ladies tomorrow!

I'm in for the month! I will not be weighing in daily right now though. I am half way through the Whole30 Challenge and won't be weighing in again until I finish February 15th. I did sneak a peak at the scale on February 1st and was down nearly ten pounds.

My goal for February is to lose ten pounds.

takingcontrol I think at least half of it will be back tommorow but it's still good, even if it's so. I'm in the Czech Republic, so I'm all lost when it comes to pounds. I often have to Google a lbs/kgs convertor when I read about people's weights, plans etc. :) But I do agree, lbs seem to come off much more quickly :D
