Hey, guys! I've never done an exercise challenge before, but I am starting C25K and really want to get into running again (which I did briefly several years ago). I thought this might help me work my way through the program. I just finished week three, which is already kicking my butt, so I figured some reassurance or commiseration might help me. If anyone has completed the program, let me know - I'd love tips! Especially for getting past mental blocks.
So, my goal for this month is to do C25K every other day (which will get me to the start of week 7 by the end of July, and then I can wrap up the program the first week or two of August.
I've never been huge on exercise, but I adored running when I actually got okay at it, and I want to get there again. I ran only on the treadmill last time, and this time it has only been outside (which I like better for the scenery).
7/1: Weights 35 (35/1200)
7/2: Running 60 (95/1200)
7/3: Hiking 120 minutes - It was closer to 3 hours, but we also stopped and looked around a lot (215/1200)
7/4: Weights 35 (250/1200)
7/5: Running 60 (310/1200)
7/6: Weights 35 (345/1200)
7/7: Running 60 (405/1200)
7/8: Weights 20 (425/1200) cut short for sore hip?
7/9: mysterious sore hip continues (425/1200)
7/10: 30 min very slow walk (455/1200)
7/11: 20 min upper body weights (475/1200) hip back to 60% but still not worthy
7/12: spent all day driving (475/1200) - wow, I was so far ahead of the pace bunny and now so far behind.
Okay, I just started week 4 of C25K and those 5 minute intervals are KILLING me. I could do both 3 minute ones and the first 5 minute one (barely), but the second 5 minute jog had me taking a break in the middle and still struggling to finish. Ugh. I should have kept up with running years ago - I hate this part (the getting-back-in-shape bit). Hopefully I'll be able to do them by the end of week 4, because week 5 starts with all 5 minute intervals.

Penny105: you can do it! We've had lots of people pass through this thread working on C25K and they all struggle right about the point that you are. But, it gets easier! Sometimes, people will redo Week 4 for a second week before moving on to Week 5.
You can do it Penny! I've done C25K three times, and all three times I repeated both week 4 and then week 5. That a hard jump to make, but you'll get through.
