And here is a wish for you to make your goal also :) B T W, what is your goal? ChloeCando: I thought someone else would respond to your losing 6 lbs in a week but they didn't. So here I go, and I will make it short and sweet. Your loss is water weight. As for losing fat or muscle, losing one lb in 6 days is very hard, six lbs impossible without extreme exercise and extremely restricted calorie intake. Water weight loss, especially in the first months is to be expected and will happen randomly throughout your weight loss months. Good luck and keep going, no worries. You can make your goal whatever you want to.... in a few months you will figure out what you will be capable of. And if you don't make a goal, it is no biggie. We are all here for ya :grouphug: Someone posted a few days back about seeming to lose some of their ability to taste coffee and was wondering if it was due to hot chili/cayenne. I meant to respond to that the same day. Something happened and my post did not post that day and I forgot when I wrote another. My apologies. Anyway, I eat lots of hot chili's and no problems with it. I grow cayenne along with 8 other varieties of chilies, some much hotter than cayenne. I often eat 3 or so bright red pods straight from the plants of cayenne. It has never affected my taste buds, except immediately after or during eating them. The Mexican population here (and in Mexico) eat a tremendous amount of chilies with no affect on them. I have noticed that sometimes I do get coffee that for some reason is weaker than other cans and I rectify that when it does happen by increasing the amount I use to make coffee. But drinking coffee while eating hot chilies usually have the effect of increasing the heat level felt by the chilies. That is my experience with it.... Hope that helps. Thanks, BFR, for responding to ChloeCando. That's pretty much what I was going to say. When I worry about how fast I'm losing (whether I think it's too fast or too slow), things tend to go badly. Better to focus on the tasks to lose weight and let the scale take care of itself.
As for me, I've been thrown completely off track by an overseas trip and a colonosocopy (with the week-long prep that demands I eat only the foods that I find triggering). Sigh. So, I'm getting back to basics. This week's goal is to not eat in the car and to start over with the book that got me going in the first place: The Complete Beck Diet for Life by Judith Beck. |

It's beatiful here, nature is colorful, the sky is completely blue with no clouds and the sun is gentle. It's still spring, but it feels like summer, so much diferent from the weather where i live (which i also love). I am just so happy right now and wanted to share this feeling... |
