Today will be a good diet day! It actually helps to know that I have a $30 diet bet in the Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 Challenge. If I don't lose 5.6 pounds this month, I lose $30. Okay, having lots of female problems and my doctor put me back on the pill last week at the start of my TOM to try and regulate some of the crap that is going on. I'm 46 and hubby had the old snip-snip, so don't need the pill for anything else. Don't know if that is playing a role in this little weight gain, or not...but not making me happy. 3/31: 139.0 4/5: 138.2 4/6: 138.4 4/7: 139.4 4/8: 138.2 4/9: 137.8 My scale is getting wonky. It gave me a nice new low, but I always weigh twice. The second time it gave me a huge jump up, so I weighed myself several times and there were some really divergent readings. Yesterday was a down day; I "feel" skinnier (know what I mean, when you can just tell you've lost?) I weighed myself on my old scale and it said 135.5. I've come to the realization that I'm losing inches but not weight on this workout plan. I think the weightlifting is resulting in water retention for all of the muscle repair so I need to recalibrate my weight loss goal. I think I will lose closer to 3 pounds rather than the 8 I set out to do. It's no big deal as I'm not really focusing too much on the scale right now, I'm more focused on the pants I couldn't wear 3 months ago that were loose yesterday.

RVAScreenwriter -- YES, you will see progress soon, keep up the good work and way to go with the weights!! Its fairly obvious and i don't bother to mention it weekly, but I just don't have it in me to stick on plan on weekends. I'm pretty social and one dinner out or sharing some wine with friends and cooking a nice Sunday dinner always bumps me up by Monday anywhere from 2 to 5 lbs. Even if it is water weight, it still takes 2 or 3 days to get back to my Friday weight which only leaves a couple of days to make any progress before the weekend has arrived again! I've accepted this as OK, as long as I can at least be somewhat ahead each week. For the longest time i wasn't actually getting ahead each week so my weekend relaxation erased the whole week of work every week. I seem to have found a moderate path lately and am finally making headway towards the elusive 130's. That said, the plan this weekend is to have an entirely on plan weekend. I have been and will be declining any and all social invitations and i will run and go to the gym and eat according to my weekday routine. I'm sure I'll be a little grumpy as I have absolutely conditioned myself to lighten up and enjoy weekends, but i'm excited about the possibilities it means for progress. There, now that i've said it, I am accountable for executing it!! |
