I'm getting a late start online today. My DH and I have been traveling. We went to visit our daughter yesterday and spent the night and we came back today. Yesterday was my cheat day and it was a doozy! This morning, I weighed in on my daughter's scale and although she says it's heavier than mine, it had me at 179 and that's what I thought I would be. So 179 it is!

SW: 177
GW: 171
CW: 176

Week 19:
12/7: 177 Cheat Day
12/8: 179
12/9:
12/10:
12/11:
12/12:
12/13:

Joy, woohoo! Great job! Keep it up!

Kelijpa, you are doing wonderfully! I have no doubt you'll make your 2nd goal this month too!

Minneey, what did I tell you about those "cheat weekends"?

NightAngel, I'm glad you were able to enjoy your lasagna! The extra water weight from it will fall off quickly!

Pixikat, I hoping for a good weigh-in for you! It does sound like you've been making smart choices! :

Turtle 183, and Sum, hang in there! The whoosh fairy owes you all a visit!

Amanda, yay! I'm so glad you had a good week and good results! Keep it going!

Envelope, you are on fire! Way to go!!

Lyn, and with the help we get from everyone in this group, I know we can all make it through the holidays just fine! We each just have to believe in ourselves like we believe in each other! :zcheer:

Kelijpa, Sum38, Jacqui I have been looking at the quantity and quality of exercise of each of you. Yall are winners no matter how much ya weigh And yer all losing weight in addition to getting or being in excellent phisical shape You are an inspiration!

Rhiko, boatingmommy, Southernbell 02 If you draw a straight line across the page, then draw a zig zag line centering on that line .......... Title the upper tips of the zigs as "gained weight" and the tips of the bottom zags as lower weight......... Then tilt the page where it slants down. The solid line will indicate your average path on your weight loss trip with the zig zags showing the typical path for your journey. Quit worrying about the scales showing a 3 lb gain in a day with it's 2 lb down the next sort of thing. Look at your weekly or monthly loss and keep on doing what ya need to do and don't worry about it It will all work out in the end.

"boating mommy: Big FR - Your diet sounds very interesting...spicy. Where are you at that you are still picking tomatoes?"

So Cal US between Riverside and Palm Springs. We have had a real mild start of winter so far, two very light frosts before last week. I have started covering my tomatoes and chilis each night now, and had a frost last night and another one coming tonight. Trying to overwinter them, I cannot stand store bought tomatoes, like eating sawdust, tastless. Once in a while some of them that come up from Mexico are fair though. Roma is the best of what we have but still very lacking in good taste.

Jacqui: BFR, "meals at your house sound delicious! "

LOL they are if ya like it spicy, come on over

Pnkrckixkat: Good luck with that Atkins diet stuff. I read what Mayo Clinic has to say on that subject. They do not knock atkins and their diet plan has a few of the Atkins features. But they do caution to watchout for overdoing it.

However, many people use fad diets with the object of eating the portions of it which interest them, what they don't want to give up or want to eat. A friend of mine jumped into it thinking she was going to lose a lot of weight. She loves fat, and Atkins was just her ticket. And she gained like crazy til she gave it up. Another friend of mine said a friend of his told him he could eat all the pasta he wanted, it would not make him gain. He blew up like a blimb before he wized up.

Leeh " I am going to try and be reasonable without depriving myself because I really need to learn how to live with sensible portions. I have all the tools to do what needs to be done but I always look for quick fixes that I can't live with. This time I am doing everything in moderation."

I sure agree with that Leeah After one does lose the weight, they have to go on eating right to stay down. Learning to eat sensible portions of healthy foood is what seems to be best. At my currant weight I can eat a lot more and still lose weight. I am SOOO aware of having to keep cutting back on calories and keep on with exercise in order to keep losing. When I was young, I could eat like a hog and still could not gain any weight. Now it seems like I pick up 10 lbs walking under an ice cream sign.

All yall are doing fantastic keep it up

Today is my weigh in

Starting weight was 237.1
Weight as of yesterday and day before 232.4 Today was 234, I am using the 232 weight.

So I am claiming 5 lbs down of that 12 lb goal. 7 left

Prepfor40 you can weigh in/check in however often you would like. I like weighing daily, and I like coming here even when I don't weigh just for the encouragement and support

Big Fat Rooster While the science of low carb makes perfect sense, if the person over eats meat and fats and veggies they will still get fat lol the low carb diets all advise eat when hungry and only until you are full.

yesterday's weigh-in: 77,6kg (171lbs)
yesterday's calories: 1400
yesterday's exercise: ripped w4 shred l1
today's weigh-in: 77,8kg (171.5lbs)
change: +0,1kg (+0,2lbs)

Good morning

pnkrckpixikat hope you had a safe journey home. Good luck with the scale!

NightAngel26 1lb for a ton of lasagna really isn't too bad! Should be gone quickly. Also, yay, gym membership!!

gardenerjoy it sounds really dumb, but the thought of getting a book for my cousin hasn't even crossed my mind!! That's actually a really good idea. I will check your suggestions out -- and probably even get it for him in English. Should be good English practice for him, too! thanks so much

kelijpa haha, yeah, I call what I do 'running', but really I only fall into a light jog. But I always think to myself, 'still faster than anyone not running'. It's not as much fun in the cold though :/
I used to be a 12/24 gift shopper too, but this year it's better. Well, I don't have everything yet, but I know what I'll buy, so that's an improvement

Minneey yup, too many temptations during Christmas time.

Jacqui_D hope you had a nice time with your daughter. The cheat day weight will be off soon

Have a great day!

Wow, I haven't been on here for a while, mostly because the scales haven't changed for me. I'm still 64.2kgs, so that's great

Jacqui_D - Thanks! I'm still keeping up my goal and haven't eaten after 10pm since (unless an ice block counts?)

NightAngel26 - Sorry for not adding lbs, I usually do. One of the reasons I'm exercising and eating right is to train myself for the Christmas/New Years period! (P.S. Underneath my avatar I have the lbs numbers of my highest, beginning and current weights )

pnkrckpixikat - I'm still trying to get used to the water weight thing and sometimes it throws me off.

Big Fat Rooster - I understand what you are saying and yeah, I do see the rate that I have fallen since I first started. I used to drop 2kgs (5-6lbs) every month until I hit 67kgs when I started losing .5kg-1kg per month. I'm disappointed that I'm not able to lose my last 4kgs to reach my goal, which I should have reached by this month but I haven't. I also made a promise to my fertility counsellor that the next time she saw me I'd be 60kgs. I know that time is coming up, so I really really really want to keep that promise. It has been a great motivator to me for the past year

I guess I could join this as well, even though my main goals aren't weight related. Fat loss is still visible as weight loss!

I'm not sure if it's going to be possible or not, but my aim would be to be in the 160's 1st of January. I was 175.4 this morning, so that would mean 5.5lbs goal for weight loss. Even after Christmas and New Year celebrations! :-) Sooo....that would mean a caloric deficit of 875kcal per day. I'm sure it's feasible at my weight, especially if I would finally add more exercise.

Regardless if I make it or not, it'll be easier to calibrate goals for January.

Have a great week, everyone!

Prepfor40: we're big believers in doing whatever works for you. Posting daily, somewhere on 3FC, is highly recommended to get the support and encouragement. We'd be pleased to have you do it here. For the purposes of the challenge, though, we just need a report late in the month to let us know how you did.

In case anyone thinks I'm a mind reader, kelijpa sent me a private message about her changed weight goal. That's why the new list went up before her request for a change.

Whoosh!

SW: 76 kgs
CW: 75.3 kgs (-0.7 in kgs)
GW: 75 kgs
