Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Go in to get weighted again on Thursday so hope I do well. Just want to get below that 170 number and I will be happy. Hoping to be 160 by my sons wedding in August. Love being back here again.

zoesmom
what a cute story! haha. You're setting such a good example for her. :) |
:welcome: Leaves and Thedollylala! Glad to have you guys with us!
Delphi- You are a rockstar, seriously. Glad to hear you are less sore today, though- I'd probably be sore for 2 weeks at least after running a marathon like that! Every little bit that you can do helps. As for the TOM, if it does come, you may be due for a whoosh afterwards so that'll be something to look forward to, lol. I wish I could walk/run in my neighborhood but too many loose dogs in the yards, no sidewalks and I am totally deaf so I'd have no idea if the dog(s) or a car would be behind me/after me. Way to go, Sum38 on the whoosh and additional droppage this week, just amazing!!! I still cannot believe you broke 5 things in a year! I hear ya on the Finnish trait- I have a good friend who is Finnish and she is the most stubbornest person I know, lol! I <3 her though! :D Zoesmom- So sorry to hear about your mom and her leg! Walking 3 hours on it?! Wow. Stress totally can make the scale go up. I really doubt you truly gained. Healing thoughts go out to your mom. YAY on your NSV! Your daughter seriously sounds awesome! I wish I had a kid to keep me accountable. !!!! Thanks so much for the kind words. Yea, the 30DS isn't that bad but it has been a year since I last did it so a bit nervous, heh!! 100Mother- Oooh, what kind of bike are you getting? 22 miles 2-3 times a week will definitely help you drop the lbs! Sounds like a great plan. Emula- It's okay! I haven't been perfect either but I try to get back on track the next day or balance it out with a little less food and some exercise. Hope things will/are settling down for you soon enough and yay for getting back on track! BTW, I love your avi- so cute! Adlea- You totally can do it! I believe in you. How are you doing on WW so far? 2fat2jump- I agree, I just grin every time zoesmom talks about her 4 year old and how much she supports her mom. Makes my heart swell so much. I just love that. I dunno if I ever told you but I really love your avi, so beautiful. ______________________________________ Today was low-key, did laundry and cleaned up a bit. Tonight was dart league and we won 10-3, yay! 2 more games until playoffs (doubt we will make it in since we're dead last, lmao.) I will be glad when it's over because honestly, it is mostly the cause of temptation to drink. I mean we play at bars, ffs! I did good tonight and just had water. *pats on back* I did get the itch to work out today but decided just to wait until Thursday after WI, my ridiculous reason is I fear I will go up on the scale from the exercise if I start now after not having done it for a few days due to water. So for my (in)sanity, I need to see something good on Thursday. Have a great night, all! |
Good Morning Peeps!
zoesmom ~ I can talk a little bit about running shoes and I can not stress the importance of having the perfect shoes. Through my training for the race I went through 3 pairs of shoes. I use sarcony as they were finally what fit best for me. My advice is to go to a running shoe store as they will look at your current shoe and kind of get an idea of wear you need support depending upon how the tread has shifted or wore on your shoe. They will pay much more detail to getting you in the right shoes as opposed to just any shoe store. I think that you have to change them out every so often as well. I'm not sure on the exact mileage but I'm sure google will know. Awesome about your kiddo! I'm so proud of her. Wish I could give her a high five for keeping you accountable. I think it is awesome you can share this with her. You are teaching her a valuable lesson and being an excellent role model for which you should be proud as well. :bravo: emula ~ We missed you to. Glad to see you are back at it. Any particular plan to get you back in the game? adlea ~ Good luck with the weigh in. Sure all will go well. I'm sure you will see your goals by the wedding. Your hard work will indeed pay off. amandie ~ Wish i new how to help. That stall would frustrate me as well. We have all been there so we know how maddening it can be. I'm gonna send lots of good vibes your way! Can you pinpoint anything that you could change to kind of shake your body up a bit. Perhaps your body is just used to what you have been doing. Good luck with your tournaments. Sounds like fun. I used to love darts way back in my younger days! Well good news, my legs actually feel normal this morning. Its supposed to be 81 today so I can't wait to get out to the greenway and get some miles under my belt. I have really felt lazy these past couple of days. I have trained so hard since January that it just feels weird not to be doing something. I also signed up for a local superhero 5k the 18th, which is something to look forward to. I have been searching near and far for another half but looks like most are in the winter months and that worries me. In any case, I have to get back to work. I will check in with you all later. Sure hope you all have an amazing day. Burn those calories and don't forget your smiles. |
Had to go dig up my post to find my goal weight for this challenge :)
CW: 187.0 GW: 175 Everyone is doing great! |
Delphi - I'm likely going to hit the specialty store today or Friday (Thursday's are a no-go for time.) Although, they may have problems looking at my tread on my shoes...I tend to wear platforms and pumps throughout the day and my sneakers, while not new, have probably only been worn a two dozen times ever. I tend to change out shoes way too often, so they never have a chance to get worn down. I know when I started looking up running shoes and getting fitted, it looks like the life span of a good running shoe that is fitted properly runs between 300-500 miles.
amandie - only two months for me. I feel a little sore today, but not anywhere like I did the first time. You have to be right about the stress. I got down to 247 and then the scale bounced up to 250 and just is not budging...and I have been on plan. It is killing me! I had JUST gotten into a new BMI category then bounced back into the old one again! GAH! Waiting for my woosh...I need it. Things are getting more stressful by the hour. Hubby quit smoking cold turkey and well...things have not been pretty. At all. Oui. Just..oui.... 2fat, Delphi, and amandie -super proud of my kid too. :) I just wish I had her energy. T-Ball practice twice a week, ballet, AND swim lessons...PLUS she wants to run every day! And I swear, she signed herself up for these activites! I had nothing to do with it outside of the wallet part. Kid just has too much energy. So much in fact, Durecell is looking to replace the bunny with her. If only I could harvest it....I'd be rich! |
Thanks thnkthin, looks like you are as well.
zoesmom ~ Yup, that sounds about right. Well my dad when I started all of this told me to make sure I never wore my running shoes anywhere but to run/walk/exercise because of the mileage etc., so like a good daughter I don't. Though, my everyday shoes are my old running shoes. So exactly the same pair I use for running but hey my feet are comfortable and I recycled my running shoes. Anywho, I'm sure you and the specialist will figure it out. My advice (and most specialty shoes store encourage this) is to go outside the store and run down the street in them first. Make sure there is plenty of room for your foot to expand as that is what are feet do once we start running especially for any duration of time. Well I just finished up at the green way. Its only 3.5 miles and I felt like I got a good workout in (ran 2, walked 1) but I am experimenting a bit. As mentioned before I wear a bodymedia device so I want to see where my calories burned for the day will be with just the 45 minutes with the run today. I'm trying to set a target of at least 2700, that way I can create a pretty good deficit for the day. I might end up just going to the gym and hitting the track though and doing 5 miles but I tend to get done a lot quicker at the gym, I think because the track is climate controlled and the rubber track (or whatever it is) is a lot easier on the knees and less pounding in general as compared to asphalt/concrete etc. Its hard to try to find a routine i can be satisfied with now. I feel like I'm reverting back...if that makes any sense? In any case, I'm gonna get off here and do some cleaning and maybe run an errand or two. OH and I almost forgot. I always weigh myself when I get back from a run and usually I'm up a pound or two, well when I weighed I was actually down 2 pounds. So, that was good enough for me. I rushed in here to my computer and changed my ticker..lol! I just need to see a lower number once. I really wanted to see a drop before TOM reared his ugly sith-loving head. Well gotta run, you guys enjoy your days! |
Good news, all!!!! I have finally broke through the 166 barrier- 165.6 this am! Seriously SO happy! Seeing that number has helped me tremendously and I am seriously (re-)committed to this, no deviating!
Delphi- Thank you for the good vibes- seems like they worked! :D Really, if I were to be truly honest- I wasn't really 100% OP with the late night snacking and drinking even. I did start to get lax about tracking when I was getting frustrated and that didn't help either. I started thinking really deep within myself and realized that I will have to be more strict with myself and that those little things add up quickly now that I am smaller, you know? Haha, I would have changed my ticker too esp with the TOM coming up! I want a HRM, specifically the PolarFt4 or Ft7 (is that similar to the bodymedia and what it does?) I definitely agree that treadmills, etc are definitely different than running outside. Glad you seem to be mostly healed today enough to get back into your new routine! I actually smiled when you said "and don't forget your smiles." I'm happy that you're here with us, really because you're so uplifting and positive! Thnknthin1- Looks like you're doing well too!!! Keep it up, girl! Zoesmom- I cracked up at the duracell comment! Yikes about hubby quitting cold turkey but at least he quit, that's a step in the right direction! I have been kinda bugging my BF to quit smoking but I try not to nag too much. When he is ready to quit, he will. Good luck finding new running shoes today if you're able to make it. Sending you some :::whoosh dust:::!! 2 months with the 30DS is awesome! I probably only did a month's worth before I got hurt and stopped. (I was doing a couple of routines back then so 30DS was done every other day.) Enjoy your day too, girls and guys! |
I'm in! Need the motivation
SW: 175 GW: 160 |
Fingers crossed the bloat will be gone tomorrow! (From TOM and 1 day of too much salt-which I am now monitoring)
|
Looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in :D It should be a good one !!!:crossed:...maybe I will even make it to the top 10 :lol3:

Hoping I am down at least a pound tomorrow! My weight seems to not want to move lately :(
|
this is perfect for me! Thanks for organising amandie.
I'm just starting back here, but i'm off back to visit family in UK on 8th July - so 10 weeks commitment is what i need! Aiming for 9lb. I only weighed in for first time yesterday, so not sure i'll lose much by tomorrow lol, but after that it's game on! |
Quote:
Hubby does cooking at a weekend, and we often make a big batch of curry or chilli or ratatouille, or risotto or casserole of some sort, which then gets divided in to portions (in plastic bags) and put in freezer - then i'll often have a bag of 'something' from the freezer with veggies, or with salad. |
Quote:
Sinderelly- I'm there with you for non-scale moving. Grr. :crossed: for you come tomorrow! :D :welcome:, ange82much! Glad to have you join us! 9lbs is doable! Good luck. :) |

I am down 37 lbs. My goal with WW is 50 so I hope I get there. I have done so many different diets and find that WW is the one for a lifestyle change. I feel great, i'm finally eating fruits and veggies and it seems my body must have been missing them. It takes people like you to make people like me see there may be an end in site. Thanks to you for the encouragement.
|
adlea ~ You are almost there. Apparently WW is doing wonders for you. Keep up the amazing work. I'm sure you will see that 50!
angel82much ~ :welcome: Thanks for the helpful advice. Glad I am not the only one in the "I hate to cook" club. Lets burn some calories and see those 9 pounds just fly off, shall we? sinderelly ~ Sending fat melting vibes your way. Sure hope you see that pound tomorrow. wolfgirl ~ Hope that bloat gets under control for ya! sum38 ~ Sure hope you see that top 10. You have just been dropping those pounds. tehshort1 ~ :welcome: Glad to have you aboard. amandie ~ Well :bravo: :congrat: and a big :woohoo: on that drop. I know you are excited...heck, I'm excited for you. I know it must feel great to see that scale budge after a stall. :carrot: My bodymedia is identical to a body bugg. Its main purpose is a calorie expenditure calculator I guess. So I have a pretty good idea what I burn all day as opposed to like a HRM. Thing is great cause it connects to all my apps like myfitnesspal to keep track of my intake and runkeeper and even eardnit (which if any of you have not used this site I recommend it. Its free. all you do is workout and you earn points for your workouts which in turn you can use your points to redeem for stuff/products etc or what I do is donate my points towards the various charities they have. Great site.) In any case, it really is a great tool for my weight loss and is highly accurate. The math really adds up. As I create my deficits based on what the body media says I burn minus my intake, I lose the weight accordingly. I have been very happy with it. Though, I have wore it so long now I think I have a pretty good grasp on what I burn on off days and what I burn on very active days and where I need to keep my calories. I have to wear it 24 hours a day which can be a pain seeing as I'm in the sun a lot and now I have a beautiful white ring around my arm..lol! Well I really need to get to work. I think I am going to hit the gym after work instead of going to the greenway, as I want to get 5 miles in today. I'm actively looking for a new course to run though, just haven't found one yet. Well you guys have an amazing day! I'm gonna bust through my 5 hours and then burn some calories. |
I had a hungry day yesterday and I loaded up on carbs and the scale shows it :( Still down quite a bit for the week, but I could have been a good pound more.
Delphi Have a nice run today!! I will walk 5 miles :) |
Weigh in today even tho I'm up, stupid tom, next week will be better, my hormones are back with a vengeance. But ive been on point and haven't faltered so I know it's not me. I plan to run today 4 miles, I'm gonna try
|
Today, I dreaded the scale. I haven't budged since my weird jump over the weekend. I'm pretty much back at square one, plus some. I still don't get it. Has to be stress. I've been 100% compliant outside of that 1/2 cupcake on friday last week and I haven't gotten too crazy with my workouts. I mean, I added in walks and jogs and such, but I ommitted my treadmill time to accomidate it, so I am at a loss. Oh well. Here's to movement next week (in the RIGHT direction this time!)
Sorry about the carb loading, but awesome on the loss Sum! :cheer: :welcome: tehshort and angel82 to our little club house! Here's to burning fat and shedding pounds! :) Delphi - you have way too many cool little gadgets. Although, I have to admit, don't envy the ring around the arm look you are sporting. Gosh, 5 miles. And here I can barely get through a mile on a good day (yesterday I didn't even get 3/4 of a mile, but I had a cake contract I had to work on so it took some time from me.) Oddly, my legs hurt today...in my inner thighs only though. Got to admit, that's a new one for me. And I didn't even do anything out of the ordinary yesterday, did less even. :?: Thedollylala - I wish I could blame TOM on my upward trend. Who knows, maybe that is it and I don't know it. I doubt it though. I have to guess on my TOM....I haven't had a period in at least eight years. First it was endometriosis, then it was pregnancy, then it was an IUD. I mean, the good thing is, I am 30 and haven't had to buy tampons through most of my 20's. The bad thing is, after a few years, you stop counting and just guess. And I am pretty sure I guessed it two weeks ago when I had unbearable cramps and that was all...I guess it could have been a mild stomach bug. SO FRUSTRATING trying to figure that one out! Anyways...you'll have a better week next week, I just know it! adlea - commmmmon 50! I am so excited for you! sinderelly - hoping you have a better weigh in than me :) wolfgirl - sending good vibes your way. Bloating sucks so hard amandie - :carrot: yeah for your move!!!! You deserve it! |
I didn't do the best this week idk why I only had one fail day. Just hasn't been a good week for me emotionally. I've lost 9 pounds this last month! :D Just not this week... xD 2 pounds lost since last weigh in. 171.
P.S. I GOT RID OF THE TOM BLOAT! YES! :D |
Weighed in at 148 for this week! yay!
And planning on trying another run this afternoon. eek. |
Good morning peeps ! happy weigh in week 2 ! This week I am Thrilled to report that i lost 2 pounds ! i hardly ever see more then a pound a week so I'm happy with that.
|
Okay and am happy with the weight the 2 pounds now! I calculated the weight loss (Even though those columns on the side aren't changing I edited them.... in my mind xD ) and I've got 25 pounds left. If I lose 3 pounds a week from now until July 4th (Which I think I will) I can still make my goal of weighing 146 pounds! which by the way.... is over HALF of the weight GONE! :D Yea I'm satisfied this week. :)
|
Way to go wolfgirl and tibbit and leaves!!!! Rock this weight loss! :carrot:
On an unrelated note, I wanna share cuteness from my kid this morning. So, my amazing and awesome husband has given up smoking this week and has been a crab butt. Anyways, all is well, and we've been telling the girl that he is sick (withdrawal) but will be better soon. Here is this morning's conversation with her when I was taking her to school. I think my husband and and I may need to sleep with one eye open for the rest of our lives now. :tired: Zoë: Daddy is sick because of icky smoky. He was washing the icky smoke off in the shower so he will be all better. Me: Yep. Daddy quit the icky smoke and it made him sick. He’ll be better soon once it all gets out of him Zoë: IT’S IN HIM?!? OH NO!!!! MOMMY! Me: What? Zoë: If the icky smoke is in Daddy he will NEVER get better! We got to get the icky smoke out! Me: Well, that is what he is doing. He quit smoking the icky smoke. It takes some time, but he’ll get better, promise. Zoë: I know! I’ll grow up and be a doctor. And then I will cut out Daddy’s stomach and he’ll be ALL better because I will take all the icky smoke out. Me: You are going to…cut?...your dad’s tummy out? Zoë: YEP! I am going to be the BEST doctor EVER and make EVERYONE better by cutting them up and giving them shots in the butt and Daddy will be ALL better and I will keep his tummy out so he NEVER gets sick again! Me: (blink) You…are going to cut people up? Zoë: Yeah! And then everyone can stay in my hospital and I’ll never let them leave. They will be better so well! Me: You realize if you want to be a doctor, that you have to go to school for a long time and do lots of homework and never fuss, right? Zoë: It’s okay, Mom, it’s okay. I’ll go to school. And then I’ll learn it super fast and then I’ll be a great doctor, cut everyone up, and keep them in my hospital so they re never sick. Me: I….I….suddenly think that I am probably going to stay far away from your….uh….dungeon-pital. Uhm…kinda scary there kiddo. Zoë: It’s okay, Mom. I’ll cut you and Daddy first. |
Thank you! :D And  that is so funny! Cute!
|
WAIT! I DON'T THINK I'M DONE GETTING RID OF DUH BLOAT! I drank two cans of diet soda! And now all that soda weight is gone already within an hour!!! And don't think I'm done "going" yet!!! I REPEAT I DON'T THINK I'M DONE YET! :D FINGERS CROSSED I KEEP IT UP!
|
omg ! thats just too funny . thanks for the laugh this morning !
|
Okay 2-3 hours! Give me 2-3 hours and I know my weight will be below 171 and bloating will be gone! I know it!
|
zoesmom ~ Well wasn't that just an entertaining conversation. They do say the darnest things, don't they? You know, when I restarted my journey last year, I only managed to exercise. I never could get my diet under control for long periods of time. Last year, I would go out to the greenway which is about 3 miles and just walk it and that was so hard for me to do. Then in January when I started training, I started with 3 miles at the track just walking and that killed me. I could barely run a lap around the track at the gym (10 laps = a mile) and that about killed me. Then one day, the funniest thing, I just said I'm going to jog, baby steps literally. I believe some of the folks on the track were passing me walking, but by doing that I was able to keep my heart rate down and my breathing under control and I was able to make it around that track twice and that was just like the greatest thing ever. Then a week later, I just went for 5 laps and ended up at 10 and I'll be darned if I didn't run my first mile. The biggest thing was just finding the right pace for me. The pace where you can just breathe without gasping for air. Its just a gradual process. I just learned to not push to hard but to just a little and that just worked for me. Oh and you mentioned soreness in your legs. There is the culprit right there. Whenever you are sore, there is a rebuilding process going on. Your body is using/storing water to repair those muscles. So, you are most likely retaining. I know the days after I have a really good strength training session and my muscles are sore, I will always be up a pound if not more. So I make sure to drink even more water on those days.
sum38 ~ You are still doing an amazing job. Enjoy those 5 miles and burning all those calories. Sending my go-away-carbs-juju your way. tibbits2u ~ :bravo: on the 2 pounds. Keep up the amazing work. Seems like your plan is working wonders for you. leaves ~ Good luck on the run today. I really do hope its a great one for you. Oh, and :congrat: on your weigh-in! Good job! wolfgirl ~ I am so happy that you are thrilled with your progress because at the end of the day that is all that matters. The more positive we can look at our journeys, the more likely we are to succeed! Kudos! This journey is emotional and we are going to have those bad days but there are so many things we can learn from those bad days to improve our plans. Just try to remember its a work in progress and just keep your head up and keep moving forward. thedollylala ~ Darn TOM, always screwing up our weigh-in's. Hopefully next week you will see your hard work pay off on Darth Scale. Good luck on those 4 miles, sounds fun! As for me, I just finished up my 5 miles at the greenway! It was hot and awesome. Felt good to get some real miles under my belt again. My dad says I need a new goal to keep me from going into a post-race mini-depressive state. I think he is right. I need structure when it comes to exercise and at times my diet. I have a 5k coming up but heck I can do that with my eyes closed, well okay, maybe not but you guys know what I'm saying. I don't want to train per se, rather just have a more structured routine again. I was on this 4 month routine with training and never deviated from it, perhaps because I didn't wanna drop dead during the race. I might do a little research and see what I can dig up. Sure hope you guys are having an amazing day and laughing as much as possible!! |
wolfgirl - wait...are you seriously weighing every 1-2 hours? Not only does that not give you an accurate reading, but it will drive you literally mad.
It is best to weigh once a week, at the same time of day (preferabbly morning), and if at all possible in the nude. Some people weigh every day, I happen to be one of those, but it isn't to obsess about the scale not going down or about going up, but more to hold accountable for what was shoveled in our maws...afterall, the scale will always rat us out if we lie. But to obsess about a number on the scale every day, much less every hour is not a very healthy way to get your mind around losing weight. Nor is it a very accurate way. Our bodies flucuate daily and even hourly depending on many factors...water, minerals, weight of food digested, calories consumed, hormone flucuation, sodium intake, water retention, bowel movements (or lack of), and the list goes on and on and on. Try focusing on once a week, or if you MUST do it every day, only once a day. And DON'T dwell on it. It is just a number. A more accurate reading is going to be how your clothes feel and what the tape measure says. I mean, I only lost 45 pounds or so....but I went from a 3x to a 1x...I weigh MORE now than I did 6 years ago, but I am fitting in smaller sizes. Scale means crap in a short term basis. As long as the number treads downwards, even at a snails pace, that is all that matters. (however, if you are doing this just for giggles, then keep it up :)) |
Yea I'll be thrilled with it no matter but it would be nice if it did go under 171-which I think it will.
|
My new scale is actually REALLY accurate because I put this dumbbell on it to "reset" it before I get on and it always gives me a true reading... no matter how sucky it sometimes is lol. And I weigh so much cause I have no I have nothing to do all day, no one to talk to, so basically not much that makes me happy. So seeing the number drop. Even if it's just when after I've eaten and dranken and the water and food weight is going down-it makes me happy. :) I know that's sad but my therapist says if it's not hurting anyone and if I didn't have the scale and I didn't have a problem with not being able to weigh it's fine. :)
|
Thanks Dellphi! I just got back from it, I think I managed a little more running than last time which is good! Running always gives me a crazy sore throat though which is pretty much always the main reason why I have to stop and walk for a bit. It sucks, I dont know why it happens :( I'm hoping that with more practise it'll improve!
Wolfgirl I find myself weighing myself at multiple times a day too. My scales are in the kitchen, so every time I wander through I'm like 'hmmm, let's see...' haha. I never thought to reset the scales with a dumbbell, that's a great idea! How is everyone doing today? :) |
Leaves I'm great! The bloating that's been driving me nuts all week is almost gone! AND I am already 2oz under 171!
|
Okay so weird... turns out I ALREADY weighed 170.5..... I miscalculated the weight of clothes... I'm so confused. All I did was remove the batteries and put them back in.... so weird. BUT YAY! I'm not shocked I JUST lost 2.5 pounds. Because I had that one screw up day so BUT YAY! :D And apparently my pj pants are the heaviest thing on me. Whoo! AND THE BLOAT IS GONE!
|
Woo! I actually lost this week.
I started Zumba in the gym tonight (they have a bunch of free classes, so I thought might as well) and it was actually really fun! And kinda killer, but that's probably the point really, isn't it? Have to get that heartbeat up! You guys all did awesome this week! :carrot: I'll have to up my game and catch up :) and zoesmom I am laughing so hard right now! Your child is a gem! |
