Let me know how it goes :) |
PrettiPisces I have been taking measurements since I started. I do them on the first day of the month.
It's helpful, since like now I am still at 142.8, where I have been stuck for about 3 weeks. |
Going2beThatGirl
Congrats chicka!!! Impressed with your progress. Children and working out is my biggest challenge |
Starting for this goal=253.6
Today's Weigh In= 251.8 :D July 4th goal=240 I actually have a personal goal of 250 first for June 4th. (My son's HS graduation). I weighed 250 when I found out I was pregnant with him in 1994. I even weighed 250 when I became pregnant with my daughter in 2004. A year ago (last June) I was 300, and I decided to try to lose weight for my health-don't want diabetes like a lot of my friends now have AND to look better in all those graduation pictures! You can't hide from facebook pics!! :o PrettiiPisces-I took measurements-but only my waist and hips. I can tell you I have lost (almost) 50 pounds and have lost 5 inches from my hips and 4 1/2 from my waist. Good luck on your weight loss!! have a good weekend everyone!! |
Happy Friday!!!
dunsready ~ :welcome: prettip ~ I have taken my measurements at different points but have not really kept up with them though I probably should. I think my clothes are a pretty good indicator for me and that seems to work well. I kinda wish I would have taken my measurements when I restarted this time around though. It is always a good motivator to see lost inches when the scale is being oh so stubborn. going2bethatgirl ~ I can totally relate. I have 3 boys and it does seem impossible to squeeze in any time but the best thing I ever heard was that you can not look at it as having to make time. Do we make time to brush our teeth every morning? Nope. Exercise has to mirror that. It needs to have that same urgency for us. All my boys are in school and I always fit my exercise in first thing in the morning. Then on weekends or when school is out, I make arrangements to still go. Its just one of those things we can not compromise. Compromising our health in the end is detrimental to families! Good luck. Sure hope you can find the balance and the time. You will be paying it forward to your family in the long run. 100mother ~ :carrot: on those 4 inches. That just goes to show the scale is not always the best indicator of progress. Great job! amandie ~ Holy smokes. Sounds like a busy day. I'm totally with you on not getting my nails done at a salon. I always do them myself, though I never do fake nails, just usually give myself a french manicure and I'm done. I just prefer it and I have done it so long, I'm pretty good at it now. So much to do and you are still maintaining your workouts and I applaud you! Still inspiring the masses. Keep up the great work. You are kicking arse and taking names. tibbits ~ :congrat: on the loss. I know it can be frustrating not to "see" the difference. Also, I think we have to change our line of thinking about "feeling huge". I know when went through this the last time, no matter how much I lost, I always still felt really big. I never could get over my fat girl complex no matter how much weight I lost. Its a mental struggle. I think we have to put just much attention in how we feel and we are progressing emotionally as we are our bodies. Its tough though! jessicado ~ :woohoo: on the 3 pounds and the pants! You must be feeling amazing. Sending good vibes your way for a better fit next week. Good luck! You are doing a fantastic job! alinnel ~ Well just keep with that plan and I'm sure you will do great. You can do this! zoesmom ~ My Rheumatologist put me on Predinose for fatigue and I hated it. I actually stopped taking after a month as I saw benefits and I know exactly how atrophies your organs and just saw no benefit to taking it. It was not a good fit. It sucks when you have to take something that is detrimental to your health. Though from my research it seems that the reason people gain weight on it is because it makes them have insatiable appetites. Well that and water weight shifting about! Do you find yourself more hungry on it? Some say it can be insatiable. sum38 ~ :bravo: on the loss! You are just zooming right along! loganandlivsmom ~ Good luck on that goal by graduation. I'm sure you will do just fine. And boy don't I know what you mean about those facebook photos. Well, things are going well for me. Looks like I found a system that is working. The weight loss is steady and finally fell into a routine that I can sustain and does not completely exhaust me. I'm gonna try a big run today as I always want to get an exhausting workout in at least once a week. Training to recover as they say! The recovery process is so important and in that process is where our muscles get stronger, so gonna try to push myself hard today as I have nothing but relaxing to do over the weekend. I sure am proud of this group. You are supportive and courageous. Keep up the great work and just know I'm here cheering for each of you! You guys really do inspire me daily and give me that something little extra to keep pushing myself. So thank you kindly! You folks have an amazing day and keep smiling! |
Okay, intsy-bitsy late with my personals. Sorry about that. Got side tracked at ballet last night as the dance instructor was inquiring about a cake for a reception to be held after recital next week. An bleeding red velvet armadillo cake! I LOVE IT! I am so pro-bono-ing that one! Anyways, ran REALLY late because of that, and then got home to find my sitcom neighbor on my love seat. I swear...watch Seinfield, or any of those old 80's-90's shows. That is my house. I randomly find friends at my place at random times of the day or night and always on my couch or raiding my kitchen. Their saving grace is, when they raid my kitchen, they always leave money behind to repay what they took...or I would be one mad momma that all my daughter's snacks were MIA or all the lunch meat for my hubby was devoured. Since I hit the store three times a week for my veggies, it isn't a huge problem to pick up the stuff I ran out of, but the money adds up quickly, so at least they have tact in that regard. But yes, I have sitcom neighbors. Needeless to say, I never hit the computer again yesterday.
So, without much more ado, here's to my long list of personals! Delphi - yepper. You have it down to a "T". I am insanely hungry when on predisone. Like, down right painfully hungry. I even end up with the low sugar shakes and blurred vision and headaches, even though I am not diabetic. I always question why they give it to me, considering the fact it has not ONCE been proven that it actually HELPS lungs that decide to take a momentary hiatus. Pretty much, I am always told to shut up and do it. And being the ever so diligant patient since last August, I do it. Had it been before than, I wouldn't have touched the stuff....but I learned first hand what not taking meds could do to me. So, I grumble and I mumble and I take it. Scale leapt on me this morning by three pounds (CRAP!) but since it jumped so quickly and since I didn't eat off plan, despite my insane want to, I am hoping it is just water weight and will drop as quickly as it went up. At least I am only on this junk for two more days. That is one of the few beauties of only needing it for lungs, hardly EVER prescribed for longer than a week. So glad you found a system that works for you! And so glad your BF is back in town! logan - awesome! I bet you will surpass your 250 goal! Keep it up, you rock! irish - you aren't fooling me! I know full well that you may not be dropping pounds as fast as you want to, but I also know that you had to return your skirts and capris as they couldn't even stay up with a belt! You are dropping inches faster than you are letting on in here! :welcome: dunsready to the challenge! Pretti and 100Mother- I take measurements. I am actually much smaller inch wise than my weight lets on. Had I not been measuring, I wouldn't have known that. I mean, I easily fit in size 18's or a 1X and weigh as of this morning 247 (BOOO!) That is mostly because of my insane workout ritual. Last time I weighed 247, I was in size 22 and 2X, and it was snug! I had monthly measurements from that time frame as I was in a gym (half arsed) and my measurements were a good 18 inches larger than I am now...so yeah. I measure! It makes me feel good when the scale just WON'T budge!!!! I highly recommend it to everyone, as it is a nice morale booster on plateau weeks. Kudos on both your ladies' accomplishments this week! Going2 Kudos on the loss! I understand your pain of never having time with kiddos. I only have one kid, but ehr activites literally take up 5 of my 7 days! Our compromise was, when she is at practice, I don't watch...I power walk, jog, or run. I'll watch actual games, rectials, and that sort of stuff. I will happily take her to the park every day..IF she will allow me to walk/jog circles around the park instead of insisting I push her in the swing (she knows how to do it herself and annoys me when she wants a push because it is up and down every second and she NEVER stays put.) And she is to join me on walks/jogs in the evenings (she insisted this one.) It works. Although, now I work out 2-4 times a day instead of 2-4 times a week. Dang kid. amandie - jealous. I don't do gels, but I do get a mani/pedi once a month or so as a reward for being on plan. Except this month. All my luxury money for this month, and next month at that, went to T-Ball, T-Ball photos, ballet costume, registration for summer camp, registration for the new semester for the new tap/ballet class, and for the next session of swim class. Yep. My kid just wrangled every last penny out of me that I budget to myself that allows me to have selfish purchases. (I REFUSE to touch my savings for something so petty...it's for my future house dang it!) Things we do for our wee ones. Next week, you and I are going to rock this weight loss thing, I just know it! Tibbits - woohoo! Keep up the great job! Sum - send me some of that WOOSH! Pretty please! :D Good job, you did awesome! alinnell - a down is a down. Sometimes we go up before we go down. Remember, it takes oving a rock by rock to move a mountain. You'll get there. So what if it takes a bit longer? It will just be all the sweeter when it finally happens. :) (and like you, I doubt I'll hit goal. I will be close, but I won't hit it.) jessicado  YEAH for the three pounds down. And thanks. :D My kid is...different...that is for sure. Last night at ballet, after practice for the recital, the dance instructor allowed the kids to freestyle dance but to "freeze" whenever the music went off. My kid totally cheated. She froze the ENTIRE time. I was both amused and insanely impressed. She literally held the same position for the entire length of the song...arms up, left leg out, balancing on the toes of only her right foot. She's just too much sometimes. :) OH!!! And kudos on the pants! I have SO done that before. You so rock! :D A big KUDOS to everyone! You are all doing great...and the ones who didn't loss an ounce, have no worries! You WILL get there if you keep at it! If I missed anyone, a thousand apologies. Hope everyone has a slamming great Friday! |
On such a high- just ran 1.2 miles (the length of my Crescent 2x) without stopping! It may not be the furthest distance, nor was it the fastest run, but it's a new record for me! SO happy. :carrot:
Come on the next four pounds!! Unfortunately I had a bit of a binge at my parents house yesterday, and tonight is pizza night, then tomorrow I'm off to a party. Hoping to do lots of exercise to make up for it! |

I forgot to put in my weight yesterday. Can I put it in now? Or is it too late?
P.S. Wednesday I got to meet, go out to dinner with, and go to guitar center with, my boyfriends parents! YAY! So nice! My boyfriend is such a sweetheart! During movies he wraps his arm around me. :) He's always telling me how adorable and attractive I am! We are going to see the Great Gatsby together AGAIN with my main girl and mom this sunday then tuesday is our second date (Picnic)! :D I am so lucky! |

hi wolfgirl - i'm not an authority (clearly) - but just do it! That's fine. Why would it matter if you're late?
|
It's never too late to join or to put your weight in!!!
|
Alright. I have been doing some casual dieting, and getting back into the swing of things since May 1st. I am now going to see if I can be serious about staying on plan. I have about 7 weeks, so I want to see if I can lose about 13 pounds by then so I am under 250 for the first time in probably 10 years?. So I am at 262, I start nursing school June 24th, and I want to see how well I do.
|
Okay i added it hopefully that's okay! Didn't do to well this week-been hanging with my boyfriend and yea LOL but I'm gonna try to watch what I eat with him from now on while still having fun-maybe eat little things when he's not around on those days.
|
Hi everybody! I'd love to join this. I'm re-starting my old diet after about a year's hiatus because I'm starting to re-gain, and I think this will be a great way for us all to motivate each other. I'm aiming for a loss of at least 1 lb. per week, so my goal weight for this challenge is going to be to reach 147 by July 4th. If I make it, this will be the first time I've hit the 140's since MIDDLE SCHOOL, and I'm super excited! If I can hit the 140's by then at all, I will consider that a great success in itself. I'm going to add myself to the spreadsheet now! Good luck everybody, I know we can all do it!!!
|
Delphi- I'm going to find that middle ground this week!!
zoesmom- I don't think it would be too hard to fit everything in, if it wasn't for the little guy. He doesn't want to stay in child care, so it's just one of those things that we're going to have to figure out. This is something that I really want, so I am going to have to do it. |
Happy Monday Everyone!
Just popping in early this morning to check on you guys. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I had a maintenance weekend and I feel like crap. Eh, I'm so glad its Monday and I can get back to the gym. It rained all weekend and we were stuck in the house and I feel like I didn't get to move my butt at all. We did go see Star Trek Friday though and that was good. Though, it has me worried about what JJ Abrams is going to do with my Star Wars. In any case, We are just a little over 6 weeks until July 4th, so its crunch time. Gotta turn it up a notch. I will be leaving for vacation on June 29th, so I wont be around for the 4th, so I want to kick my butt in high gear and hit goal for this challenge. Well I better get off here and clock into work. Sure hope you guys have an exceptional day! Check in with you folks later! |
MONDAY MONDAY! :)
HI! Well, I managed to finish my RX of predisone Sunday. Weighed this morning and...HOLY FREAKING CRAP! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!???? I....Oh God....I.... LOST!!!! Come ON Thursday! I got this! :D :dancer: Delphi - I hear ya on that rain. Killed me. My back is just now starting to feel better after throwing it out the previous weekend and...it rained. And they canceled the butterfly festival so I had to let my kid down. And...it rained more. BOOOO! But like you, time for high gear! Let's do this! :welcome: vdh2012 and vdancer - your goals sounds totally doable! You can do this! :cheer: Everyone else... |
Everyone
My hearts broken...I failed horribly this weekend..no workouts and BAD eating .... Im ready to hop on full force this week...someone tell me its okay lol and too forgive ymself...Ill get to personals on my break :( |

ZoeMom
You helped me bunch and gave me my fb status for the day!! |
zoesmom ~ Well congrats on the loss. I know you are glad to be off that predinose. It really is a pain in the arse to have to take it especially with the crappy side effects. I'm with ya, on kickin' it in high gear. I totally wanna be in the 170s when I hit the beach for 4th of July! We got this!!!
PrettiiPisces ~ Dang right its okay! It happens! Great thing is you aren't in some kind of denial and ready to jump back in full force and that my dear you should be proud of! No sulking here, just moving forward! Well finished my 5 miles and have a slew of other errands to run. I have a swimming party/cookout I have to attend this weekend, so I am going to work extra hard this week so I can actually enjoy myself Sunday. Any Walking Dead fans here? I am trying to catch up on season 3 and it killed my activity level yesterday as we just watched episode after episode on Hulu and didn't do a lot else. Felt so lazy yesterday but I think thats the "rain effect"....Just always want to cozy up and watch a movie on those rainy days. In any case, sure hope you ladies are having a grrrrreat day and keep burning those calories!!!!! |

Hi Everyone!! Just stopped in to update my numbers (down 3.2lbs this week, hello woosh fairy!) and see what you were all up to! Thanks Zoesmom, those quotes are awesome. Hope you are all having a great day! |
Family was in from out of town this past week, and it was rough eating out/not having time to exercise. Didn't lose anything, but I didn't gain either, so I'm going to count this as an okay week...
|
quick check in to say i've lost a couple of pounds in the last week due to sticking on plan - that's lots for me. Hurray! Hopefully stay this way til next weigh-in.....
|
Welcome to the new additions!
How is everyone doing? I didn't do so great over the weekend especially on Saturday when I partied heartily until 5am. Worth it for me. Luckily I was able to stay on plan the next day and today, whew. I definitely expect to see a gain or maintain come this week's WI but I plan to make it up for some with a little extra exercise to lessen the damage, if you will (although I should have done it before the weekend. Next time.) Way to go on the losses, everyone!!! Wolfgirl- Definitely okay!! :) Put it in anytime and if you see a dash (-), just press backspace and enter your weight. It's just the OCD in me that likes to see a spreadsheet filled out rather than empty boxes, lol. Love the quotes, Zoesmom! Thanks! The Top 10 for 4th Week is up now. Congrats to the top tenners! :carrot: A lot of you are reaching the halfway mark, wow! Way to go! Keep it up. Have a great evening all. :D |
Ahh, don't feel like I deserve to be in the top ten because others have lost more than me, I just had a high goal! Think I need to lower my goal a bit, I'll have a think.
Congratulations to all the achievements this week! I had a bit of a lapse over the weekend after a couple of invites out to friends', but back on track now :) |
Hey everyone. It's been a rough couple of days for me since i came down with some kind of super yucky sickness over the weekend and pretty much gave myself license to eat whatever i wanted since i was miserable and desperate for anything to make me feel better! I'm improving a bit now though and am going to try to stick back on plan starting today. Unfortunately, it is also getting ready to be TOM for me right now, but i'm just going to try to bear through it! Trying not to be disappointed in myself for the past few days, because I guess there is only so much you can do when you're sick.
It sounds like a lot of us had a rough weekend/past few days, so let's just all open a clean slate together this week and move forward with new determination. Just imagine how great it will feel on July 4th to look down at the scale and see that we've reached our goals!!! We can do it, ladies. |
I'm going to a family reunion for the holiday... worried about staying on course. I will miss the Thursday weigh-in but I will weigh-in when I return. Here's hoping I don't gain anything.
|
Hiya newcomers! I don't think it's ever too late to join...this challenge seems to be really popular and I know it's motivating for me at least. I think the spreadsheet just makes me feel so much more accountable!
So on that note, thanks so much Amandie for doing this! Prettipisces, it's okay...we all have days off the wagon. Trust me, the most important thing is to climb back on the wagon! I've gotten in that cycle where I cheat, feel bad about cheating, so for some weird reason I then drown my sorrows in more food (how the heck does that even make sense?!?!?). So, that fact that you've caught yourself, and checked in here is a step in the right direction! You can do this! :D elvislover -- congrats on the loss! amandie -- did your partying include dancing? I know when I used to go out partying, even if I drank, often I wouldn't gain anything as I had danced so much. ;) It does sound like a lot of people have had a bit of a lapse this weekend. Honestly though, I find a cheat weekend every once in a while seems to help the weight loss (shocks the system maybe?), so don't beat yourselves up too hard...hopefully this week will be better and the whoosh fairy will come visit you all! As for me, I've been staying OP, and working my ars off everyday, but the scale has been staying the same. Yesterday I almost cried. But today (as I was prepared to pitch a serious hissy fit if it didn't budge), it was down another 1 1/2 pounds. I'm at 221...so close to the 210s....which is so close to Onederland! Ahhhhhh! Ha ha, and I'm done now, sorry! ;) |
Leaves- You made me re-think my approach for a bit so now I've decided to do 2 Top 10 for the weeks- one for the % of their goals like we've been doing and another for their lb losses so far. Totally understandable- Summer is coming so that means more outings and etc.
vdh2102- Glad to hear you seem to be getting better now! TOM- boo!! Mine is coming up soon as well. Seizetheday- Enjoy your family reunion! :crossed: for you not to gain when you get back! :crossed: Just do the best you can but most importantly, please enjoy yourself and have fun! Way to go, Jessicado! So close to the 2-teens! :crossed: you get there next week. No dancing this time but I played a lot of bean bags/cornhole and some darts- my arm is so sore! I agree with others who said just to get back on the wagon after having a not-so-great weekend. I know it's hard but just do it! Congrats to the new top 10 for total lb lost! (there are 2 top 10 groups now- one for total lbs lost, another for % lost.) I gotta admit, I feel like I am in of a little funk- "I got down to xlbs so I'm entitled to having xyz to have a little fun." I have been back on plan and working out though my motivation is waning, I just need to hold on and keep going! |
Good afternoon to all of you awesome people!
jessicado22 ~ That is awesome about the 1-1/2 pounds :cheer: The scale finally catches up with us eventually. You are getting so close to onederland. I have a feeling you will be getting there soon with all of your hard work. Keep up the great job. seize the day ~ I am rooting for a good weigh in for you after your event. Hopefully there will be some good choices you can make. Good luck! vdh2102~ I'm with you! :carrot: When the 4th gets here, I think we will all be glad of the hard work we put in. Even if we do not hit goal, the pounds dropped up to that point are well enough to be proud of. leaves ~ :hugs: you deserve everything you get. You are making strides and you are working hard. Be proud of that. This is a challenge but not a competition. You are doing a great job and regardless be very proud of that. I know I am very proud of you! amandie (aka partygirl) ~ Out until 5 am ..eh? AWESOME and good for you! Wish it was me. I hardly see to many nights like that anymore though perhaps on vacation I'll have a few!! Sure glad you managed to stay on-plan though. I think we have come so far that we know how to even ourselves out after an event and partying session. angel82 ~ :bravo: on the loss! elvislover ~ :woohoo: on the swoosh! That is grrrrrreat!!!! Well as for me, I'm working the track at the gym. Finished my 5 miles today and I am just seeing my time getting shorter and shorter. Just waiting to drop 10 more pounds and I'm going to start stringing my miles. My dad also registered us today for the half-marathon next year, so I am pumped about that though I will not have to start training until the beginning of next year. But hopefully by then I will be at my goal weight and look a lot better in my race photos.. In any case, off to watch the reveal of the new xbox. Sure hope you ladies and gents have an amazing day! |
Thanks everyone!! All those personals you all do make me tired, I envy you all!!
Delphi, I'm so jealous (in a good way!) that you are registered to do a run with your dad. My dad isn't in any type of good health to do even a walk but I wish I could have a bonding moment with him like that. Amandie, 5am girlfriend!? Now that makes me even more tired thinking of that! I'm too old for those days now! I get up around 5am now for fun as opposed to getting home at 5am LOL! Awesome, Jessicaado! You are doing so great. I thought I'd never get to onederland and now it's all in my distant memory (like 7lbs is so far away lol), you are going to get there and love it! Congrats to everyone else on their losses, I love this thread. And hey, I just did personals!!! Yay!!! (I think it's easier when the posts are all on the same page but I do get dizzy! :dizzy: ) |
Whoo-hoo on doing personals, Elvis! That is awesome. It took me soooo long before I really got into personals. It's a workout on its own, lmao.
Delphi- Happy on your personal times getting better with your runs! It is so great that you and your dad seem so close and have a good relationship (from what it seems to me.) My dad is in a wheelchair (from getting shot a couple times when I was a baby) and he isn't that kind of person to do that type of thing. I just finally now am getting closer/bonding with my dad since I've always grown up with my mom and we were states away. I doubt I will get the new xbox (my old 360 is still working so far. *knockonwood*) I heard there's a quite few restrictions like having to be connected to the internet just to play single player or something like that? I could be wrong since I wasn't quite listening to the BF at the time, heh. I don't normally stay up until 5am and I didn't think I would be able to since I cannot have any caffeine and I normally have a SF redbull or two to keep up. The time just flew by and we all were like whoa, it's 5am? Let's go to bed!!! Zzzz. Haha. I am going to watch the Gateway Grizzlies tonight with the family. I made sure to eat my food before I go since I know there'll only be hotdogs and/or burgers there. I ate there last year and it wasn't very good so I don't wanna waste my calories on icky stadium food. Besides, I am saving the calories for a couple of beers (3 max!) Gonna go and get ready. Have a great evening, all!!! |
I'm in! Sw: 212.2 Gw: 192
|
Wow. I came in here to do personals and....nope. WAY too much went on between yesterday and now. And my energy is so not even close to where I need it to be and I still need to get out and run this evening (been too freaking busy this week and it is only Tuesday!!!!)
So.....HI  EVERYONE! (and you should respond with "HI DR. NICK!") Glad my quotes touched a few of you....I look at them daily. I figure since so many people are pessimistic around me (not referring to this forum, but the physical people around me) that if I surround myself with quotes that start off that way but end chipper, it would uplift me more. So far, the theory holds. :) Kudos on the whoosh fairies and the exercises and everything else....and :welcome: the the newbies....and...I gotta jet. Something about needing to get out before it gets too dark, since there are no good street lamps around here. Toodles! And I swear, next time, I will so get the personals done...just isn't happening today! You guys are BUSY! |
Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a great week! I'm having an okay week. The negative self-talk in my head is creeping back in. I've been beating myself up all week about losing too slow, sucking at exercise, hating my achy arthritic body, yada, yada, yada...
I don't know why I can't just accept the successes I'm experiencing and stop beating myself up. I've lost 3.3 pounds in the 10 days since my last official Medifast weigh-in. I was one of the top losses this week in my clinic so my counselor asked if she could put my name on the leader board. My first instinct was to say no, because it was actually 10 days, not a true week. She put me up anyway. Then I come here and see Amandie's top ten link. Not only am I in the top ten, I'm number-freaking-TWO! Honestly, what will it take to make me feel successful? More than ever I'm seeing that my weight is a symptom of a much bigger problem. |
*squishy hugs for everyone*
