minoja - I often think that too when I see your stats - we ARE very close in start AND progress!

I had the weirdest NSV today - I was in the city, wearing a cute dress, no stockings (79 here today) and my underwear kept falling down! I have been getting rid of clothes that were too big, but never thought about undies!! Breaking out the older, stored away "skinner" undies right now!

dcapulet: I love the underwear NSV. I think you totally deserve some sexy new ones for that! I will be rooting for the 220s for you!!

Marniadec: Yum, bread!! That sounds way too good, even underbaked, lol. And congratulations on meeting your April goal!!! You are RED below!!

ItsMyTurn: Thank you!! OK, so does your husband just not like the creamy stuff, or is it that he can't have it? I am totally fine with working around true food allergies/intolerances, but there are SO many picky eaters in my mom's family... it drives me nuts when "we can't go to that restaurant, because Grandma doesn't eat any sauce and your cousin doesn't eat anything red." Literally. You're so accommodating!!! Re the scale... mine was stuck for SO long, and even when I would see a tiny downward movement it would pop right back up the next day... but then my body must have adjusted or something, and I've now had pretty steady losses since the end of February. I am just waiting for that to happen for you - it HAS to at some point! You're losing inches, so you know something is happening there... I think all of a sudden you're going to see a loss and then things will just keep moving from there. Fingers crossed it's this week!!!!

minoja: Nice job on hitting your weekly goal!

PaintedButterfly: You're doing great, keep it up!!

Sarge: Woohoo on the 2 lbs this week, and congrats on being back in the 170s!!!

I think I actually did pretty well food-wise while visiting my family this weekend, despite eating FIVE meals out at restaurants in the space of 3 days, oy. I probably didn't have any calorie deficit, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't above maintenance calories overall for the weekend. And, I got in a 7 mile run on the treadmill on Saturday with my sister, so hopefully that helped things a bit too. If the scale is still in the 130s tomorrow, I'm calling that goal met for April.

so today i got back on track after a week of terrible overeating and no exercise. i'm at 149 which is 4 lbs shy of my goal for April, but I am just going to eat my daily calorie allowance (1500), exercise, and if the # on the scale doesn't change, so be it! one day at a time! i think i get overwhelmed easily and forget that it's a lifetime journey of weightloss and maintenance and that sometimes we just need to cut ourselves a little slack.

chickadee - congrats on staying in the 130's despite all the restaurant food!
congrats to everyone reaching their weekly goals! that's great

thanks chick!
Ailsa - It's good that you are not being overly hard on yourself. THINGS will always come up, and you're learning to cope. I applaud you

Me- my leg is swollen :/ I was on it all day yesterday, so I know it's repairing itself, but I'm retaining some water in it, and it feels weird.

88 here today in NY! If this is April, what's going on for JULY?!?!?!

I had several days in a row over my magic number of 75.1 kilograms, but I slipped below this morning!

I'm at 11 of the 14 days this month that I want to be below 75.1 kgs.

chickadee, I didn't really meet my monthly goal. Just my weekly one. I have 0.2 lbs to go for the monthly one. Oh, the bread was great! It tastes even better when it's baked! I barely got to try it, I made it yesterday. My mom brought it to the neighbors we were celebrating Easter with and it disappeared before we got to the main meal. Congrats on making it through the weekend! You even went to the gym! If I go away on a weekend I get on ~vacation mode~ and I'm like: "well, I walked to the cafeteria, then the tavern and then home. That's 30 minutes of cardio right there". How did everyone react to seeing you so thin?

dcapulet, yay for big panties! What's wrong with your leg, if you don't mind me asking? In any case, I hope it gets well soon!

AilsaPearl, I've also come to the same realization. I'm a bit of a type A personality and this effort to lose weight had brought it out in me in the worst way possible. I pretty much abused myself for a few months. Then I decided to relax. This is not something that will last x months and then it will be over and our lives will begin. We are living right now. If we overeat on a special occasion, or during TOM, or just any day, really, so what? Who doesn't do that? As long as we don't give up, we'll be fine.

Congrats to everyone who met their goals!

I dropped more weight today! Well, 0.9 lbs, but still. It's going to go up by at least 4.4 lbs soon, because TOM will be here on Thursday, but whatevs. I seem to have hurt my ankle, but I don't remember when or how... It's been a week now and it gets worse every day. I've been li.mping for days and today it's even swollen. I wonder if it burns calories?

Hi Marni- I have a connective tissue disease, and sometimes my joints become swollen. Things have gotten A LOT better since I really reduced my carbs, but I was on my feet in not the best shoes for hours yesterday, so my one leg is a little swollen. It's usually both legs, but it seems I overused just the one. Heat and humidity also mess things up, and it's 88 here today! Thanks for the well wishes!

I love this! Big panties rock . . . so cool you're moving into the smaller ones!

I had some that were doing that along with a pair of jeans that kept sliding down. What a sight I must have been trying to keep up as my dog was walking me . . . yanking them up over and over again.

LOL, I was definitely NOT in the 130s this morning!! I think it's just the carb re-load though from Passover ending on Saturday night, as there is no chance I gained 2.5 lbs of fat this weekend with how carefully I was eating. Grumble grumble though... I hate when the scale goes up like that!

Alisa: SO TRUE. I really need to remember that as well.

loose seal: YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!! So super happy to hear that!! You met your goal and you are RED below!! All of your persistence through the frustration paid off, and I'm so thrilled for you.

gardenerjoy: Woohoo on 11 of 14 days!! You're so far ahead this month - we're only halfway through! You've been doing an AWESOME job.

dcap: Ouch, I'm sorry your leg is swollen and feeling so off. Will you be able to get some time off your feet this week to help get the swelling down?

Marniadec: Oops, sorry about the monthly vs. weekly goal! You're so close though, you're going to be there quite soon. And yikes on the ankle! Maybe you should see a doctor about it, especially given that it's getting worse? People were surprised seeing me this weekend, and that was fun. Funny though, it's still my mom who comments the most, and she's seen me more frequently than anyone else back home! I think it's just that she never thought I'd lose the weight, so it's still weird for her that I have.

Actually, here is a photo of me, my dad and my sister from this weekend (http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...1512046_ed.jpg My sister is the blonde). She has always been the small one, and it's weird now that I can borrow tops from her! Not pants though - my lower half will always be bigger than hers.

Does anyone else NOT count the amount of calories they are eating? I didn't pay attention to them only to my carb number and today I was curious about how many calories I eat on a typical day so I added one of them up and it came out to about 1200 so I think I am doing pretty good but it hadn't even occurred to me to keep track. Do you think that's important or just really the carb count?

I find I can maintain more or less (1-2lbs within range) if I eat only when hungry in small portions of the right stuff, but I simply cannot lose unless I count and am as exact as possible. Maybe it would work for you, but personally to lose any weight I need to log and count everything I eat or it turns into "oh yeah I forgot about that ___ I ate" or you grab a few extra of something without thinking cause you're not writing it all down. That's just my experience though!

Hey everyone~!

I have been doing so bad hahha. My uncle and his family were in town for 4 days and they came all the way from India and so we went crazy doing all kinds of fun stuff and eating at all kinds of places. I don't even want to step on the scale till the end of the week(if even then). Tomorrow hitting the gym hard! Hope you all had a great weekend.

chickadee -- you look FANTASTIC! You've lost 141 lbs.? My hat is off to you for your persistence and determination. You must feel so good about it!!

Yeah, I did finally get the scale to move. I tightened up the eating (although I had been OP for 80% of the time anyway . . ) and changed up my exercise again. Since I'm at a point where I can actually run for 30 mins (instead of weeks and weeks of working my way up to that), I cut the running to 1-2 days/week and went back to the stuff I had been doing earlier when the scale was moving for me. That and the fact that my period had gotten really, really weird last month .... hmmm, makes me wonder if hormones weren't also playing a part in the fat hanging on . . . and on . . . and on.
