looseseal Great job on getting the scale to move!
So I think I have ruined all my hard work from last month and the first two weeks. I have been eating all kinds of carbs and bad stuff. argh! I am so mad at myself right now! I need to be eating properly and giving up the sweet stuff all together because I have no control! its so frustrating. I feel like I have no self control. it makes me so angry. I know what I need but seem to keep just self sabotaging myself. Then have a meltdown at the end of the day. The worst? My hubby keeps telling me I am looking thinnier and he can see the difference and I feel like I will be letting him down too with the last few days of eating. anyways I hope to set it straight again tomorrow |
Haven't gone off plan but been really lazy the last few days and I think it is slowing my weight loss...I feel like I have lost all my energy...:(

I haven't been very active in this thread but have been active dropping the weight, at 136 now! And my goal for the month is 135. (from 141.5) so I am excited!

minoja I know what you mean about the energy. up your water intake and that might help get you out of the sluggish behavior
philana Way to go! You are doing sooo well. Keep it up! you may even get below you goal well I kicked myself in the *** and went to the gym today. Cardio plus weight training makes me feel awesome! I will just keep pushing and going little by little. keep it up ladies! |
I'm 0.2 lbs away from meeting this month's goal, right? So obviously, TOM comes along and brings me 7,7 lbs. *********. Today I'm 2,2 lbs down. But I also ate more than 700 calories today, so God knows what the scale will say tomorrow. How can I retain so much water? Also, the ankle is fine now, so, yay for that. Although, no1curr about the ankle because it's not like I've used it since yesterday. I just sit in bed and watch sims set themselves on fire all day long. :p

Hi all. :) Sorry I haven't been around; it has been an incredibly busy last few days with a grant proposal that was due yesterday and then being away last night. I am super tired as I haven't slept nearly enough, so I'm just checking in briefly tonight but will get more caught up tomorrow. I was happily surprised to see 137.3 lbs on the scale today though and I'm calling that goal met for the month. :)

And the hormones could definitely be the culprit... I swear they have a far bigger impact on my weight at any given time than sodium or carbs, etc. I hope the scale kept moving for you this week! Chickadee - Great job!!!! Hope you are able to get some rest caught up ;) You sure do run around a bunch :lol: 103 degrees today, so just hung by/in the pool today.. rough life. Going to get my run in early since tomorrow is supposed to be a few degrees warmer than today. I want to get in the run before it gets too hot - nothing worse than collapsing when you are trying to burn calories :rofl: |

Well, I'm at 191.6 today, so the bloating is going away. It's going to come back, though, because I'll go home on Tuesday... I hope I can get rid of it before the month ends.:p |

good job everyone with the losses, sounds like it's a successful month! For me things are not going so great. I'm stressed because of exams and really tired of my university and really missing my family. I have been so unfocused and unmotivated with my weight loss, I am going to try desperately just to maintain right now. I have been emotionally eating all the time despite being aware of it I'm just too tired and lazy to care..and my weight has gone up to 150, 5lbs more than my goal for April. So i'm just going to make it my goal for the next 1.5 weeks to not gain any more, and then I will have 3 months back at home to figure out what my weight loss goal will be and really put my mind to it. I feel like a disappointment, but I really needed a break!

Ooh, look at all of you doing so well! I've gone off the rails a bit, letting the chaos at work affect my eating far too much. I haven't gone over my starting weight of 148 but the lowest I've seen is 146, so there's no way I'll make 144 by the end of the month. I'm still hoping to be under 140 by my birthday in early June and I think I can do it. I go back to my normal schedule tomorrow, so that will help me get back on plan.
ailsa, try not to be too hard on yourself. You've done really well and taking a break isn't failing. |
Edit: Haha! Went to the loo, re-weighed myself and I've lost weight after all :lol: Sorry for the TMI there! Still pretty sure I'm not going to lose 2lbs in a week though to reach my goal tbh since I've been losing mainly only 0.6lbs a week.

Still being really lazy lately, haven't gone off plan for even a second but haven't worked out since last tues. or wed. feeling really guilty for that and seeing the lack of results on the scale because of my laziness. Need to get back on track! Don't think I will make it to my April goal but I will be happy if I at least come close. |
ItsMyTurn, thanks, but it won't. I'm heading back home tomorrow, so I'll probably gain again.:p I've got a plan for it, though. I started drinking green tea every day and I'll incorporate more diuretic foods into my diet and hopefully it will help. :D
minoja, I'm get lazy, too, when I'm on my period. I walk a lot every day and I don't want to exercise when I get home. I'm in pain, too, so I use it as an excuse. I never work out the first 4 days. |
Hi ladies! I hope everyone is doing well this week. I was out of town last night for work (8 hours of driving over two days - I am so sick of being in the car!), and I stayed at a family friend's house... and I ate WAY too much of their honey nut chex mix. :( OMG, so addicting - don't ever buy it! I made a trip to Whole Foods today though, and I have lots of yummy, nutritious food for the weekend.
We're coming up on the end of the month... I hope everyone is still pushing and doing their best to stay on track! Can't wait to hear how it all turns out. :) |

I weighed in at 203.5 yesterday, so this morning I was hopeful that I'd be no more than that...wrong! My final weigh in for the month is 204. I made it to my goal, but just barely!! Not great, not bad. A little progress is better than no progress at all!

So my deasr friends I have thrown my back out a week ago and am still trying to get back to normal. I have been doing nothing but sitting on the couch and icing and heating it as well as eating. Shame shame shame. The excuses are ridiculous. Family friends. Today I am starting my day with a protein shake and trying to make some little progress in the next few days before May consumes us :) I suppose I must just brush myself off again. I sound like a broken record. Where has my motivation of the beginning of my journey gone? I will just keep chipping at it.

I am in the middle of TOM and still saw a lower weight on scale today, 188.2... however, not quite enough to make goal. I have 2 days and think I am, once more, going to miss my goal by the skin of my teeth, :lol: Seems to be my commonality on these challenges. However a HUGE victory to have figured out what had me at a plateau for so very long, so I will take it! :) |
It looked like I wasn't going to make my April goal of 14 days under 75.1 kgs because my weight popped above and didn't want to budge. But it came down yesterday and today. So I am at 13 days -- hoping for one low weigh-in in the next two days!

We have two days to go and I have 0.7 lbs to lose. I seem to be losing water weight again, so I hope I'm going to make it. The elections are coming, which means I will be heading back to my parents' on Wednesday and then home for 2 days on Monday and then back to my parents' for the second voting. So, I'll spend half the month of May being bloated, too. This is getting pretty discouraging... :(

I saw 144.8 a couple of days ago and thought I might make my goal, but I'm back up over 145 so it's not likely. My eating is all over the place but it's not totally out of control, so I'm not giving up. I just bought some new clothes and am feeling pretty good about myself.

Ugh...month is about over and didn't make it to goal...:( Going to step up my workouts and maybe water intake to see what happens. Haven't gone off plan for even a second...proud of myself for that but scale isn't showing the results I would like it to. Good luck to all of you and congrats to those who did make goal this month!

Ok... there is still one day and my TOM is ending. Jumped on scale this morning to see 187.4. I might actually hit the goal by tomorrow's deadline... holy cow!

ItsMyTurn: I know you know that whether or not you hit a specific number for your final weigh in tomorrow, you've done AWESOME. You've gotten the scale moving again, consistently going down - that's what you were working toward, and you figured it out and you did it. :D And btw, I always do my final weigh-in for the month on the first day of the next month (so Tues, May 1), as that's the weight that reflects the effort put it on the previous day, the final day of the month. For everyone who is SO close and just waiting on ounces, I would totally use your Tuesday weight as your final weigh-in - give yourself the additional day to see the losses! Steph: I hate that bouncing back up! The 137.3 in my ticker/profile was from a week and a half ago... and in the meantime I bounced back up over 140 for four days before my weight came back down into the 130s again. This morning was the first time I saw 137.something again. I know how frustrating it can be! minoja: It can be SO HARD to stick to your plan when the scale isn't moving, so I say that it's an incredible accomplishment that you're doing so! Good for you!! The scale will show your efforts eventually, just keep going. :hug: gardenerjoy: So close! I hope the scale is kind today, tomorrow or Tues! sun: Motivation comes and goes for ALL of us; there are definitely days when I wonder how I lasted this long, and wish I had the insane drive with 100% focus that I did at the beginning. But it's not motivation that's going to keep you going over the long haul, it's COMMITMENT. You have a goal, and you are committed to making it there eventually, no matter the little bumps you encounter on the path along the way. As long as you don't give up, you are still on the path. I hope your back is feeling better soon. :hug: dcapulet: Wow, you did an AMAZING job this month!! Way to go!! You deserve to feel great. :D Marniadec: I was trying to read back but couldn't find it... what exactly is the issue when you go home? Is it eating different foods when you're at your parents' home? Can you plan ahead and take some of your own foods with you, or do a little grocery shopping while you're there? I often take my Fiiber One bars with me when I travel, and pick up some of my own healthy snacks to keep at my parents house or in my hotel room if it has a fridge - yogurt, fruit, etc. I ran my first 10K race yesterday and LOVED it, but it was super early in the morning (I normally run in the afternoon on the weekends) and I knew I'd be fighting the ravenous hunger all day that always seems to come after doing a long run. I was really pleased with myself for keeping my eating in check the rest of the day; I ended at about 1300 calories, and that seemed like a victory! I weighed in at 143.8 this morning - eek! It will probably be up tomorrow since I lifted weights this morning (and even lifted some heavier weights than I've been doing) but I don't care. I can almost see the 130s on the horizon!
chickadee, I completely agree with you that, over the long haul, it's commitment that matters. Whenever I find myself thinking about "after, " I give myself a shake and remind myself that it's that sort of thinking that leads to regaining. The commitment is to never again eat like I did when I weighed 225. |
chickadee32. I have Hashimoto's. That is my problem right there. Two hours on a bus equal 5 lbs of water weight, apparently. When I go to my parents' I usually order a lot of takeout the first couple of days and I gain more because of the sodium, even if I stay within range. I'm usually OK with it, but: 1. it has gotten a lot worse and 2. this time I also got my period, I went back and forth many times and I fasted for a week. It's almost over now, because I only have to go back and vote once and then I'm done traveling. But my endocrinologist asked me to go completely off of my meds so I can get tested again in a month, so I have no idea as to what is going to happen in May. =/
Anyway, on the bright side, I hit goal!!!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: When I weigh in kilos it says 85, which is basically my goal, but on lbs it says 187.1. I'm hoping it will say less than that tomorrow.:p |
Chickadee - So true! That was my "biggie" and got that done. Great idea to wait until the 1st day of the next month. I usually do my weigh ins on weekend days just because I actually get normal hours of sleep on those days. On weekdays it's harder to have weight loss show due to only sleeping about 4ish hours/night. It's odd, but that has such a huge effect on what the scale wants to show me, :) GREAT JOB on the 10K~!!!!!! :carrot: :carrot: That is so super!!!!! I am so proud of you and bet you were beaming with pride in yourself!!!!!
Steph - Great job on progressing in the lifting! Yes it will probably show on the scale, however, it's a huge accomplishment for your body :) Marnia - Super job hitting goal!!!! :woohoo: |
Well I didn't meet my goal (of 139.2).. I did get 50% of the way there though at least :lol: I just don't lose weight fast. Next month I'm going to set an even smaller goal I think.

I made my goal! In fact, one day over -- I had 16 morning weigh-ins below 75.1. Yay! And congrats to all the others making their goal or coming close enough that you're staying motivated to the end -- yay!
