10 Week Easter Challenge
It has been a while since I participated in a challenge and I am a little late for the Valentine's Day challenges already going on....and July 4th is a little too far away to keep my mini goal on point.
My sister, BIL, and my parents actually started an Easter weight loss competition on 1/1 which was my idea, however I dropped out when everyone decided to WI right then and there! I was too embarrassed knowing I was 25lbs heavier than my dad!! So I vowed to still keep Easter as my next goal so they would be surprised to see my weightloss at our family's Easter breakfast. Starting today, it is exactly 10 weeks until Easter. I weigh everyday however for this challenge I am using Sunday as the WI date so the final WI will be 4/8, Easter Sunday. I hope a few of you will join me for the next 10 weeks so we can help motivate eachother. There's nothing more motivating for me than knowing I have to post my weight online each week :) CW - 274.6 GW - 240 I know it's pretty lofty, avg 3.4lbs/week, but I need to set a goal that I have to push myself to achieve. Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I am now 194 pounds. I figure I can lose about 5 pounds a month, with aggressive exercise and some dieting.

I think your goal of 16 lbs is doable. I can't remember the last time I was 194 so I am not sure how quickly it comes off (since it comes off a little faster when you have more to lose, like me). But everyone's body is different. My point is I think 16 is a great goal. I'm in! The past week I was on vacation and my accountability went straight out the window (and onto the cheeseburgers, yum!) So I have to get down to business..

kay7jay i am 5 foot 10 too. Im going to get a better weight reading in the morning when i go to the pool my scale is not real accurate.

I'd love to join...after losing a little over 20lbs this fall, from my highest weight of 225, I've been stalled for AGES and way too sloppy with my food. Luckily I haven't regained, but I still have 50lbs more to lose! I'm going to shoot for 2 lbs a week, so hopefully my chart will look like this--

Awesome! Welcome everyone. We have some great goals going and I am so glad we are all in this together.
I feel great today (for a Monday) since I am so proud of the weekend I had. I did not lay around on the couch watching tv...snacking all day. I was up and moving, cleaning, grocery shopping (no junk!) and even got on the elliptical which is my arch-nemesis now. I used to do an hour on the elliptical no problem....when I was 160 of course. Now 25 mins is as much as I can stand. My goal is to keeping adding 1 minute each time. I feel good about this week. Hope you all have a great Monday, stay strong and motivated! |

Good job on making it into the gym Hpyhikn! It's always awkward to see the tiny girls bending over the arm machine, as if that's really necessary :club:
I always concentrate on the fact that no one notices the big girls, it's like we're invisible. Which to be honest doesn't really make me feel any better about it! Just think, at the end of the challenge you could be the girl flipping her hair while stretching by a treadmill |

I got up today headed to the fitness center about 9:30 walked a mile on the treadmill then did some swimming exercises in the pool. finished off in the hot tub. which feels fantastic since i have to head back out in below zero temps. This winter has been so cold here. I dont know if i told anyone but i am recovering from spinal fusion surgery and it feels so good to be able to walk again ! without Pain and numbness. ! hpyhkin - I agree about the gym though. Some gyms are less about working out and more about flaunting it. I actually haven't had the courage to step foot in a gym for 10 years (other than those small fitness rooms at hotels when traveling that no one is ever in lol). And even then I joined when I was already at my thinnest, go figure! I like to move my butt around in the comfort of my own home...until that butt gets a little smaller anyway :) But kudos to you and everyone else. It makes no difference where you workout, or how....but that you just do it and to the best of your ability. Hope you all are having a great day and staying motivated. I am really stressed at work so far this week and the scale is showing it. I am going to try some Tai Chi tonight before Biggest Loser. Get my relax on. |
I am not ready for the gym yet but would love to take a Zumba class in the near future! I have been Sweatin to the oldies. Richard is so fun and motivating. What's been working for me is to get up and put on my workout clothes, get the kids off to school and then I start sweatin'! It's so nice to have it done with and I don't have to worry about exercising the rest of the day. I think it helps keep my eating in check too. Don't want to be working out for nothing :dizzy:

Some gyms are terrible places re: flaunting and stuff. I love my YMCA. No one cares what anyone looks like. It is all about feeling better through moving a bit more. Have you tried a Y? |

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in while I have a free moment. This week is turning out to be quite the whirlwind. Hope you are all having a great week so far and continue to do so.
I myself am a little down. My eating has been on point...but I haven't been sleeping well at all so getting up at 4:30 am to workout before work has not been happening. I have been staying late at the office all this week too, go home eat dinner, get some errands done around the house and up to bed...to NOT sleep. I have a ton of energy while I am work, but then my day drains the life out of me. I can usually still lose even when I can't get my workouts in, I know I lose more when I can, so I am not sure if it's the stress at work that's doing it or it's because I had such a huge loss last week (10+ lbs). Either way, I am just preparing myself so I am not disappointed when I don't meet this week's goal. I wish I could take off of work for weeks and focus on it everyday like the Biggest Loser ranch but this is reality right? Anyone here doing WW PointsPlus? I am curious to hear what people are thinking of it. |

You have a full plate.This wont make you feel better but i was planning on really hitting the fitness center this week and the only day i have been was on monday:( My plans didnt work out either this week. Try not to be so hard on yourself your doing alot. One day at a time. Soon your energy will increase the more you follow your WW program and the more weight you lose. Tomorrow is another day. Find something to motivate you :) this challenge is motivating me, there are so many of us trying to reach the same goal. This is the year to do it ! |
motivate bride- The scale might surprise you in a good way! I was all set to be disappointed this week, but it turns out I still lost. (not as much as I could have, but still a loss!) Just remember that after a big loss (yay on the 10 pds!) you might have a small number no matter how much work you do.
I wish I had your energy all day long! I get up at 4am for work, 3am if I work out first. Typically work days are at least 12 hours plus an hour drive time to and from so I totally understand not having time to do anything but sleep when I'm home... and I usually feel drained most of the day. I'm REALLY hoping that I can talk myself into working out everyday on work days, but I just don't know if I see it happening. Today it didn't. :coffee: I do WW points plus. Love it. It provides a steady loss, plus I can use the points however I wish and on whatever food I want. I've always been a good budgeter so I just look at it like my finances, I have this much to spend in the day and I decide how to use it. And there's a weekly "savings account" (aka the weekly points) that I can dig into if I go over one day. I'm not good at counting calories but the points system is easy for me. Speaking of the biggest loser ranch, how do they leave work for so long? My bills wouldn't allow me to. My boss would have heart palpitations.. Plus some of them have been single parents.. I just don't get how they can put life on hold for so long. |

Hey! I was good for THREE DAYS! Then .. uh.. PMS and then that time of the month today and there goes my weight!
Hey it could be worse. I could have gained weight. I am still down two pounds from our initial checkin last weekend -- thanks to 24 hour fitness. Current weight - 192. My advice to you guys: don't listen to too much Mirella Frinella and Luciano Pavarotti like I am because I keep seeing plates of pasta and bottles of chianti in my head then in my tummy:carrot:, brought on by their aria in La Boheme. Not good for a diet. Happy Saturday! Thank you God for inventing ibuprophen. |

Welcome AML08 I am the opposite of you! My food intake has been on point, I just need to be more consistent with exercising. I count calories using an app on my droid( Lose It!) It is really helpful and free! I have been doing 30 minutes on my elliptical and want to add some weights this week Good Luck! MzMoMo What does your diet consist of? I love meat and it has so many calories. I can eat veggies and fruit but I wont be satisfied. I may need to be hypnotized lol. I wonder what the rates are hehe |
