Hey everyone, I'd love to join the party in here! My Cinco de Mayo challenge just ended so I'm on the hunt for a new one...

I'm setting my goal to be down 20 pounds by Labor Day. Exciting!!!

SMSDREAMER2007 05-05-2011 11:38 PM

:welcome: ana! Great to have you with us!

SMSDREAMER2007 05-06-2011 10:56 AM

Just checking in, My scale and measuring tape have quit being bipolar YAYY!!! thats so friggen awesome to me!!

Yes, I have been scale obsessed this week LOL. i don't like it when objects go bipolar. It actually gave me the same number EACH TIME i stepped on it!! still waking up here *yawn* more later  all WE CAN DO IT!!! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

rmc9142 05-06-2011 03:48 PM

Hey all! Thanks for the welcome.

SMS - glad to hear your scale and measuring tape have come to their senses.

I weigh myself everyday. I know some think that's not a great idea, but it gives me some guidance during the week. But, I haven't measured myself in a really long time. I'm going to do that today.

Having a good week so far. I'm down 5 lbs, which is great. But, I'm very realistic and know that's mostly water. The rest of the journey won't be quite as easy. :)

Have a great day everyone.

konfyoozed 05-06-2011 08:52 PM

today was my 'official' weigh in day (even though i weigh in every day, my friday weights are the ones i use for my ticker and phone apps). hit 274.5... and 25lbs lost. yay! :)

SMSDREAMER2007 05-07-2011 10:37 AM

yay k0nfy!!! wtg!!!! cxongrats.

rmc9142 05-07-2011 11:57 AM

Great job k0nfy!! You really are an inspiration. :bravo:

konfyoozed 05-07-2011 04:06 PM

thanks guys :D

@rmc i've never been called an inspiration before. i think i blushed!

ILRPinkGirl 05-08-2011 06:26 AM

Hey everyone, looks like it's weigh-in day for our spreadsheet (I tried adding a column for lbs lost this week but I'm pretty new with the spreadsheets online, so I didn't do anything fancy, feel free to mess with it...), but I had a great week and am at 233, which is down 4 lbs from last week's weigh in! Woo-hoo!

Also, welcome to all the new joiners this week, and congrats Mandy on the 25lb loss!

rmc9142 05-08-2011 09:05 AM

Congrats on the 4 lbs ILPR!

I lost 3.2 (and, yes, I'm counting that .2 :D) DH, DD, and DS all have to work today and feel bad that I'll be spending Mother's Day alone. But the kids don't go in until later this afternoon, so they asked if I wanted to go to an early brunch. A buffet of unlimited yummmmmy foods seems like a disaster waiting to happen at this point, so instead, the three of us are going to the gym together. If you'd suggested that to me last Mother's Day, I would have laughed in your face.

Hope everyone had a good week, but if you didn't, don't worry. Last week is OVER and it's on to a whole new one. Here's to another week of loss for us all! (That sounds so wrong.)

Have a great day everyone and Happy Mother's Day if you celebrate.

konfyoozed 05-08-2011 01:35 PM

273.6 this morning, for a loss of 2 pounds this week. :)

squishysquirrel 05-08-2011 08:08 PM

I'd like to join this challenge if it isn't too late. My one year anniversary is one month after Labor day, so this is a perfect challenge. I'm aiming for approximately 2 pounds per week, so I would like to lose around 30 pounds by Labor day.
Btw, I weighed 190.7 pounds on 5/1/2011 and 189.3 today.

K3LL3Y 05-09-2011 06:32 AM

Good Morning Everyone.
Late weight in I know but Mother's Day kept me outside and away from the computer. :)
Over all had a good week of staying on track. Down 1 lb so keeping in the right direction.
Finally made it below the 200lb mark:carrot: I'm super inspired to keep it up.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

dollypie 05-09-2011 10:49 AM

I would love to join in this group if it is not too late! My goal is to be at 175 by Labor Day!

konfyoozed 05-09-2011 10:50 AM

congrats on onederland k3ll3y!

Im down 1.5 lbs myself:carrot:(just hope its stayed off since mothers day hehehee) Been soooo busy these last 2 days and now I have a headache..its started since i ate soynuts, wonder if im allergic to soy...but ive had soymilk with no prob before. hmmmm who knows.

dollypie 05-10-2011 10:36 AM

Okay I did bootcamp last night and now muscles I didn't know I had hurt...yikes! But it felt good!

amandie 05-10-2011 12:56 PM

Ah, I'm up 1lb today- 197.4. Totally deserved because I ate and drank a lot (we had a belated Easter get-together at my house over the weekend.) I also only exercised once.

Back on track today with eating and workout!! Congrats to those who lost!!! :)

DrivenByAmbition 05-10-2011 10:43 PM

Lost 2.6 this week!

dollypie 05-11-2011 09:39 AM

Two days in and I am feeling great! I hit the gym again this morning, I may go for a light walk this afternoon with DD.

rmc9142 05-11-2011 10:31 AM

Great job Driven!

Last night, I ATE. I didn't plan dinner and, as a result, spent the evening grazing. ALOT. I sat on the couch and kept getting up for "one more thing" until I consciously thought, "What the ****, just eat what you want". I was so disappointed in myself . . . until this morning.

At first I wasn't going to log what I'd eaten during the binge, but I thought I should really face what I'd done. So, I wrote everything down and was surprised by two things. One, I wound up only 200 calories over my daily goal. That's not great, but not awful and certainly not enough reason to throw my hands up and quit, as I may have in the past. The other revelation was that I'd pretty much stuck to healthy things, without really thinking about it - peanut butter, wheat bread, string cheese. The worst thing I ate were some chocolate covered pretzels and I was even conscious of the number I ate - 6 instead of the whole bag.

So, while I may have lost the battle, I still feel like I'm winning the war. :) Scale showed a .4 gain, something I'll keep in mind while at the gym today.

amandie 05-11-2011 10:06 PM

Great job, Driven!!!

Rmc- I totally understand how you feel and good for you for not beating yourself up!

I didn't exercise yesterday BUT I kept track of my eating so that's somewhat good, right? LOL I'm hoping I get enough motivation to do my 30 day shred video tonight..... bah.

rmc9142 05-12-2011 09:19 AM

Thanks amandie. Tracking your food is great, even without the exercise. I keep telling myself that if this is really a lifelong change, I'm not going to be perfect every single day. Learning how to reign myself in after a "bad day" before I do enormous damage or totally give up is almost as important as actually losing the weight.

With Tuesday night's debacle as motivation, I had a great day yesterday and dropped a pound. :) Onward and upward.

konfyoozed 05-12-2011 01:02 PM

i'm in pre-TOM time, and i want to eat everything i see. it's crazy. it doesn't start until i'm home from work for the night, but then i just wanna stuff my face until bedtime! so far i've managed to make the cravings happy without doing too much damage (as in i'm still showing a steady loss), by snacking on carrots, apples, broccoli and bananas.

2.2 pounds until i am no longer morbidly obese! :D

SMSDREAMER2007 05-12-2011 06:36 PM

dolly thats always the best workout!!

amandie - eh stuff happens, now we just let that go and move on, it will come off ;)

wtg driven!

rmc- oops...maybe plan meals ahead of time?

k0nfy- WOOT! you will get there !

I totally failed. I am hoping im getting TOM soon (I have pcos so dont get it regularly) cause yes, I overate this week, I did it alot, I jsut coudlnt stop, but I dont see how i ate 12000 cals extra!! maybe 2000 extra or POOOSIIBLY 300 but NOT 12000 yet the scale says im up 3 lbs :?: i thought maybe waterweight, but ive been downing water and tea like crazy and nothing. Sigh

SMSDREAMER2007 05-13-2011 07:42 PM

I am happy to report I was back to 280 this AM ...well even .1 down farther than last sunday, Hoping to see 279 this week! even if its 279.9 il be happy!!!

doubtingJulia 05-13-2011 11:26 PM

Hey guys. I hope you don't mind a late comer.

I want to lose 29 pounds by Labour Day (29 sounds easier than 30). That would get me to 165.

konfyoozed 05-14-2011 12:55 PM

is it cool if i use today's weigh in instead of tomorrow's since i will be out and about all day tomorrow including, church, wedding shower, family dinner with the inlaws, etc? if not, i'll find time to hit the scale in the morning :D

ILRPinkGirl 05-14-2011 02:07 PM

I say go for it Mandy...two weeks ago I used my Friday weigh-in on here because I was out of town for the weekend. Have a fun (but busy) day tomorrow!

SMSDREAMER2007 05-14-2011 04:46 PM

Defo k0nfy ;) I use my weight a day ahead of time etc if I know im gonna be gone.

amandie 05-14-2011 11:27 PM

Driven- Yea, I think I really need to break away from the thinking that I need exercise in order to lose weight and change that thinking on "I want to exercise so I can be healthy." I think that would also help me feel less guilty about it, haha.

:welcome: Julia!

Whoo-hoo, SMS!

Mandy- I don't see why not! ;) Oh yea, on your 2.2lbs left, you CAN do it!!

I think I was retaining water because the next day (Wed) I was 193.4!?! Ahh, I just hope the numbers are the same come Tuesday's official weigh-in. :crossed: Tonight, I will be doing my workout (finally!) and been OP for the eating part since then.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!!

PacSunMama 05-15-2011 02:50 AM

Hi everyone! May I join in this challenge, even though I'm a little late?

I'm nearly 5 weeks out of a c-section and 4 weeks out of really bad pneumonia, so I'm still on "take it easy" orders, but I'm excited to get things moving in the right direction and I'd love support!

My latest WI was 218 (I've been WI on Wednesdays) and I'd like to lose 20 pounds by then. I am breastfeeding so I'm trying to limit how quickly I lose weight, but I think this is a pretty realistic pace for me!

So:

SW- 250 4/15/11 (day I left hospital after c-section)
CW- 218 5/14/11
Mini-Goal weight- 198 by September 4!

Thanks! I'll read through the threads and see if I can find some rules... basically though, do I update my own info on the spreadsheet?

*Eta: I just filled in my info as if I was here the whole time, if that's okay. Changing my goal to -25 pounds then, or 198!

ILRPinkGirl 05-15-2011 06:44 AM

Good morning everyone, and welcome Sarah! Congrats on your new little boy, and welcome to the challenge!

I am at 232 this morning, so down 1 pound this week. My weight's been a little all over the place the last few days (I suspect upcoming TOM?), so hoping to be closing in on the 220s next week! How's it going for everyone else?

doubtingJulia 05-15-2011 07:41 AM

Hi all. I'm weirdly excited about my first weigh-in!

I was 191 this morning, which is a three pound loss. Hurray for beginner's luck! It would be awesomely motivational to change decades in just two weeks.

rmc9142 05-15-2011 08:56 AM

Welcome Julia! Congrats on your loss, though I don't think beginner's luck had much to do with it. It was all your hard work - great job!

And welcome to Sarah too and congrats on your son! I really admire your ambition; I'm not sure I'd have the energy 5 weeks post c-section! With your great attitude, I'm sure you'll do well.

I'm down 1.8 lbs this week to 207. When I look at the big picture, I think the pounds are melting off. But, day-to-day, it can be frustrating to see such small losses after so much work!

Have a great day everyone!

K3LL3Y 05-15-2011 09:05 AM

Good Morning,
Happy to report I'm down two lbs this week. I know it is all thanks to starting the C25K program. Hope you were all equally successful in at least keeping to plan if not the scale. As long as you keep to plan it'll all balances out eventually.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

amandie 05-15-2011 03:05 PM

Welcome, Sarah! More the merrier! ;)

Julia- Great job on your loss- just 6lbs away from overweight category!! Take what you can because it will slow down as you get closer to your goal weight. :)

Ashley- Good job! :crossed: for 220s soon!!! 1lb at a time is what I tell myself (easier said than done, LOL.)

Good going, RMC on your 1.8lb! I totally understand about the day-to-day basis. I read somewhere on one thread a while ago- one poster focused on monthly averages of weight loss rather than focusing on week-to-week losses and I thought it was a great idea if you're more of a "whoosher-loser" (lol) or just feeling like you're not doing great/enough.

Kelley- Congrats on your 2lb loss this week!

Hope everyone has a great day!! I will be going for a short dip in my pool and see if I can't work on my tan, haha.

amandie 05-15-2011 03:11 PM

PS, RMC- I saw you posted in another thread and seemed curious about WW. I am doing WW and I LOVE IT, though I am on the old plan (momentum/flex). I have done calorie counting but for some weird reason, I just feel like WW is much more easier than calorie counting though there is not a big difference between the two. I know some people who combine the two so you could try it? Google how to calculate your daily target points then click on the ehow website, after you get your daily points plus 35 weekly allowance points- then google for an online (free) calculator for old plan/flex/momentum. Can't hurt to try? Good luck in whatever you decide. :)

SMSDREAMER2007 05-15-2011 03:18 PM

pacsun- :welcome: the more the merrier! that is perfectly fine, just update your own info on the spreadsheet and keep us updated on your progress, those are the only rules! oh and have fun!!!

wtg ilr!! thats awesome!

doubting julia OMG WTG!!! :carrot::carrot:

congrats on the loss rmc

yay!! k3ll3y

amandie: *jealous* I want a pool!!! ROFL

I am down this AM to 278.0 WOOHOOO thats 2.7 lbs down from last week!!!! booyah!
