  • I am babysitting my cousin for a week and due to issues I can't get into right now, she is very dependent and starts to cry if I leave her alone. So, no running . Hopefully next week I can get back on it(I think I will repeat W1)
  • Week 2 has pretty much been a breeze. But I'm tempted to stay on it because Week 3 scares me. Three minute run!!! OMG!

    Happy running everyone!
  • I also wanted to encourage everyone to keep a C25K journal to help see your progress. Just jot down a few sentences after your run about how you felt.

I decided to do it this morning because when I was stretching out, the exercises seemed easy, but just a few weeks ago I could barely grab my foot to do the quad stretch and doing the stretch for my hips made me feel like a breathless pretzel.

I want to remember when a 60-second jog was impossible and I couldn't complete a 20 minute workout. Where I'm at seems normal, but I don't want to forget where I came from.

    Just a helpful suggestion.
  • W2D2 done! I worked through the soreness. I did 2.24 miles which is a little better then Monday's 2.17 miles. This isn't bad at all. However, just like Rochester, I'm not looking forward to the 3-minute run either!
  • missed my run today...car broke down again..today I didn't have to walk carrying a 2 1/2 year old....alternator is in hope that's the problem...will run in the morning...
  • I did it. I did week3/day1 and thus did the two 3 minute runs. Yikes, they were hard, although I was able to get all the way through them, so they were not impossible. I took me the better part of each of the three minute walks to get to the point where I felt like I wasn't going to die.

I want to go back today and do week3/day2, but I broke a(nother) toe last night and I am not sure I am up to running today.
  • Todays my last time of Week One, and on to Week Two!

This scared me last time, so I stuck at Week One until I absolutely HAD to move on. That time has come. Wish me luck... 90 seconds.
  • Good luck parkedout! Enjoy those 2 minutes of walking.
  • Hey everybody! Sorry it's been a little bit since I posted. I'm happy to see, upon hopping back in, that everyone is still hanging in there!

Rochester and Co., I totally know what you mean about the 3 minute runs... I was looking at that yesterday, and I was just like, "I have to DOUBLE my running time from week two?? Aaaaah!!! I'm afraid. But I will persevere!!!

I just got back a few minutes ago from W2D2, and I feel good! I was especially happy when I didn't pay attention to the time at all during the first run and I didn't have any issues! Each one got a little bit harder, and the last one was a bit of a battle, but I figure progression is just like that sometimes! So hopefully day three will have me *mostly* feeling good through my runs... And then the dreaded third week...

Rochester, I love your journal idea. I may have to pick that up.
  • Everyone is doing so great!!

    Rochester--ITA...good idea about the journaling

W2D2 was tough but I made it through. Since my days are Sun, Tues & Thurs and I messed up and started on Tues...I think I will do my W2D3 on Sunday and again the rest of this week and then start W3D1 on the following Sunday
  • W2D3.

Well, that was ugly! 72 degrees with 72% humidity at 6:30 a.m. Plus I was slightly dehydrated and not well rested. My calves were burning so much I almost started crying. I was hot and dripping wet and just plain miserable.

EXCEPT there was this moment, in the second run interval, when I found that "sweet spot" where I felt the incredible joy of running and felt like I could run and never stop. I've heard runners talk about it but that's the first time I've experienced it.

On to Week 3 with 3-minute runs!

    Happy running everyone!
  • Hi i would like to join as well i cant run for my life i get out of breath quickly but i have always wanted to run so here goes for my attempt

I have started the program before but i never finish as a matter of fact i never get past week one i hope that by joining i will hold myself accountable i completed w1d1 three days ago so today i am hoping to do w1d2

    Also I use a tread millbut i walk a 3mph and i jog at about 4 mph.
i wear a heart rate monitor on the chest and watch and my heart beat is always higher than 160-180 just wondering if anyone else measures that.
  • Finished C25k in January, long story, but quit running. New go round to improve time! Today, I finished W4D1. Rock on!
  • Even though I still had to do W2D3 I decided to graduate myself to W3D1. Wasn't bad AT ALL. The 3 minutes of running felt like a piece of cake today. I didn't regret skipping the last day of week 2 at all. My legs will probably be sore tomorrow though!
  • completed w1d2 but i was not impressed with myself i think i could have done better but i least i didit
