Ms Perception 06-15-2010 10:27 AM

Good morning all! I'm looking forward to a 100% OP day today after several weak attempts. I've been indulging in sweets that have held me steady or popped me up a few tenths on the scale. It's time to reign that in and be serious. My vacation is in less than a week and I can't go being all lax about my food intake or I'll come back like a bloated fish.

LE-I hope you recover soon and can take advatage of those classes. That's so cool! And don't be mistaken, I definitely ate some cookies with my kids yesterday which is why I can't come on here and proudly boast about a new lower number on the scale....I'm kicking myself for it, but at least the pool workout kept me from a big gain! I do feel like I've got myself back on track, so I can lose a couple pounds in the next 5 days before we leave for our trip. I'll just keep telling myself to stay away from the evil white powder! LOL

susiemartin-The one thing I have going for me is that, at my worst, I never got off track for more than a half day or so and then I would get OP for a couple days and repeat that cycle. Now, I've got it where it's only off plan for a meal and then right back on plan for several days. Baby steps in the right direction!

Welcome, Nicki Rini!-Best of luck to you and we're thrilled to have you with us! You've set some pretty strong goals, so let's see June become a strong month for you! :)

MiniChick 06-15-2010 10:46 AM

I finally had a chance to buy a digital scale and weigh myself this morning after 1 1/2 weeks off plan. I must say that I'm relieved. I've only gained about 3 pounds. I was really scared that it would be closer to 5-10 lbs. Also, I just started my cycle, so I'll get a better idea of where my weight is after these first couple of days of bloating have passed.

I have really struggled with eating on plan because I'm on vacation and despite my sincere effort to lose weight, I also want to enjoy the foods from my hometown that I never get to have otherwise. So, I'm trying to balance the two because I'm not willing to miss out on foods that I only get to have while I am here. So, despite my small gain, I'm pleased with where I'm at, and I'm enjoying visiting family and friends in my hometown tremendously.

bama girl 06-15-2010 01:46 PM

I have been pretty static in my weight... 136.6 last time I weighed at night and then I was 138.0 literally the next morning, within 8 hours. I was afraid to get on the scale yesterday or today, but if I had to guess I'm probably still the same. Surprise, surprise. The other areas of my challenge have been going very well, though. Still... so frustrating.

susiemartin 06-16-2010 07:01 AM

Check In Time :)

Yippie! The scale is moving. I'm down another 2lbs. :carrot:

Here's to another OP day. Hope your day is a good one too!

Lewisempire 06-16-2010 07:04 AM

Good morning Beautiful ladies!
I am actually up early this am, I am trying to get back into an exercise routine! Just thought I would check in. I have ALL my food planned and written down for the day!
There is a great post by RockinRobin today on weight lose support thread. She is replying to a gal that titled her post "stuck" It was so good I printed it out for my fridge, LOL I hope it works for the other chick it was written for too.
I don't know if I am allowed to share it but here goes.....I'd set up some roadblocks as to NOT slip back into old habits. In fact I'd work real hard on establishing some NEW ones, new HEALTHY ones that is.

Journal your foods - every bite, lick, taste, sip and crumb that goes down your throat. This is a GREAT tool. It will make you AWARE and mindful of what you're eating. It will also keep you FOCUSED. Focus is what's needed. When we lose focus, things start going awry.

Plan out your meals/snacks in ADVANCE. Know ahead of time EXACTLY what you will be eating. Make yourself a plan and stick to that sucker like glue, LIKE GLUE. No veering. You've got that plan in place, now stick to it.

Have the right foods on hand - always. ALWAYS. Get rid of the junk. You can't eat it if it's not there.

Make yourself some rules, set up some boundaries, create some new life laws for you to follow. Definite no's to what you will not touch - no matter what. For instance, no fast food, no chips, pretzels, soda, etc. Take the decision making process away - this way there's no - should I?/ shouldn't I to even contemplate. "Nope, I just don't do that any more. It's no longer an option TO eat like that."

Learn how to tell yourself no. You don't have to have something just because you want it. You're not a spoiled child after all. You must make mature, responsible decisions that have LASTING affects. Stop thinking of your two minute gratification (giving into temptation) and think of your long term satisfaction (living your life at your utmost optimal - at a healthy slim weight). Self discipline is a wonderful thing. It opens up doors and creates a wonderful life. But you must get used to doing so. It won't feel comfortable at first. You MUST get through the initial, temporary discomfort of breaking old habits and establishing new ones. Push yourself. Stretch. Push. Reach. Strive. Grow.

Losing weight and lots of it is a doable thing. It's not some crazy, hare-brained out of this world scheme. You just must DECIDE to do it. Decide to do it, commit to do it (screw the motivation, it comes and goes) and than be WILLING to do what's necessary to MAKE it happen. And rest assured, you CAN make it happen, you can. And you should.

Hold yourself up to a higher standard. Require more from yourself. Push yourself. Conquer something new. Discover who you were meant to be. Transform your life.

You don't have to be overweight if you don't want to. It is within your hands, you have the power to change this.

The Chick that wrote the above has lost quite a bit of weight according to her ticker, and to me it just sounded like what we should all know already, bu I thought it was an excellent reminder! Thanks RockinRobin! You Rock!:bravo: Ok Ladies, I am off to workout!!!!!

bama girl 06-16-2010 10:14 AM

Thanks for posting that! I'm copy and pasting it into a document to keep for myself.

I lost .4 pounds overnight... my water weight is fluctuating all over the place, I think. but yay.

SW: 138-ish
CW:136.2
GW: 130

ap90 06-16-2010 11:42 AM

I noticed very small movement. Down .4 lbs to 183.4. I'm a little bit closer to being overweight.

LouisaH 06-16-2010 11:45 AM

Thanks for posting that LE, and thanks to Rockin' Robin for the reminder--it's so true. Especially the "Commit to do it (screw the motivation, it comes and goes)."

Well, I said I was done with the 170s, and I did reach a new low of 169.6 yesterday (a mere .3 pounds from "healthy BMI"), but we went for sushi last night and all that rice is sticking with me. I drank a lot of water, but probably should have kept drinking it to flush it on through. Perhaps I grossly underestimated the cals, but I figured I was still within my range (oops, just thought of one little freebie from the sushi chef that I didn't count--nothing much, but it would put me over). So today, I'm 170.4 and intend for THIS to be the last day of ever seeing the 170s (again, lol).

Busy day, gotta run. Hope everyone is having a great and OP day! p.s. I'm wearing shorts today that I haven't worn since 1994. wahoo!

Ms Perception 06-16-2010 07:56 PM

LE-That was a great post...thanks for sharing it! I also saved it into my documents to have for myself. Such good reminders!

LouisaH-Good to hear you got those 160's and you'll surely have them again tomorrow. I'm planning to see a nice low # in the morning myself after toying in the 134-135 range for far too long! I've been a good girl, now where's my dang reward!?! LOL Congrats on the shorts, btw!!

bamagirl and ap90-Every little bit counts especially when things aren't moving much! So, way to stick with it and let those little bits add up!!

susiemartin-So good to hear about your loss! You've been making some real changes and taking the "bull by the horns", so I'm thrilled to hear the scale has confirmed your progress!

Had a busy, OP day and I feel hopeful about what I'll see on the scale tomorrow. It's WW day [I'm a Lifetime Member (= a maitainer) there] and I should go to the meeting since I'll be out of town next week and probably won't feel up to going the week after since I'll just be getting home and settled from vacation.
Well, the month's half over and I think we're making some nice progress, ladies. Now, time to stay on course for the remainder and see the official start to summer (6/21) with a lighter, healthier body!

susiemartin 06-17-2010 07:31 AM

Check In Time :)
Another OP day behind me.

Thanks for the words of wisdom from Rockin'Robin. She's the real deal

Hope everyone has a great day!

LouisaH 06-17-2010 10:49 AM

Well, it's official. My BMI is in the normal range, although it feels as if my body is showing the flab more readily as I approach my goal. I remember reading this from other on this forum and thinking "oh shut up, puh-leese!" I expected the scales to burst into a cheer and blow out a little confetti, but maybe that's waiting until I reach my final goal.

LE--did you let RockinRobin know you started a little fan club for her over here? Heh heh.

MsP: Get that WW meeting out of the way so you can not think about it again while you're on vacation (unless that's the motivation to keep you on track!). Hope the scales are feeling generous this morning!

Susiemartin: you're an inspiration! Go you!

Happy Thursday Chicklets. Kick its butt.

NightAngel26 06-17-2010 02:13 PM

Hello...

I haven't weighted properly today, I'll check back in with that later. I think I'm doing alright, although I expect to be up a little given I ate my bf's lasagna last night... but it was worth it. I'm not making amazing progress, and have just barely...today...hit TOM.... was wondering when it was gonna bother to stroll by. :kickcan:

Also for those interested or who know what I'm talking about... I ordered a Diva Cup.... a little off topic there, but it's exciting, I'm waiting for it o/O :flow1:

Still rockin the wii, almost every day...I missed one so far...eh no biggie. I'm waiting to use it right now actually when my bf gets done playing baseball... :hyper:

susiemartin 06-18-2010 07:03 AM

Check In Time

OP yesterday planning for another 100% OP day today.

Hope your day is a good one :carrot:

ap90 06-18-2010 11:51 AM

Check-in: Scale finally went down to 183.0! 182.2 actually flashed a couple times but I felt more comfortable taking the larger number. Don't wanna mislead myself. This is the closest I've come to being overweight and not obese since Grade 8!

Have a nice Friday everyone!
