Staccie-I have a pair of pants I can try on to see if they get looser. I am ready to be 19_. Its going so slow. Good trick leaving your gym stuff there so you had to go back. Good reason to workout, I mean you were already there. You are doing so good with eating, bravo on getting the salad instead of tacos. Let us know how you like the trainer, you are too funny about not being distracted by him. OOOHHHH Louis Vuitton, my downfall. I would leave the credit card behind too.

Popcorn-I wish there was a mall to walk in the winter here. Gotta join the community center here. 8 miles is a long haul but sounds like you have good plan to build up your stamina. Good luck. Cant wait to see your weigh in tomorrow

Tiff-sounds like you are doing pretty good with the lemonade only eating small amounts when you have to. I am gonna have to get that biggest loser game. Are you still liking it?

Mygrits-you ARE going to catch up to me if this plateau keeps going steady, but congrats to you for getting to 210. You are kicking this challenges butt. Oh, I love jasmine rice, havent had any in a while but it is soooo good.

Simple-TOM sucks, think it is just around the corner for me.

Pammy-are you doing the 30DS consecutively? I did it with my sister in 30 days, that is killer. Excited for you to get to see your BF. I know how excited you must be.

AJ-lol, it really is. I know you can do it, Lindy will keep you on track, she is good at that.

Neesy-your vacation sounds nice, at least you get to see your hubby. Hope things go much better this time. Take pics in Baltimore and DC. Do you have a facebook? I am with you on lacking exercise, but I am gonna get back to it, hopefully I can get a walk in tomorrow.

Thought I had to work tonight but of course they wait til the last minute to tell me they dont need me until tomorrow instead of all night. Oh well, but the money is good. Day 5 of GF diet went good, but my sweet tooth really kicked in today. My husband and I went to a christmas bazaar and they had a cookie walk and of course we got lots to freeze. BUT I havent had even one. I did have 2 sugar free mini reeses cups. I had to have something sweet. I started this diet at 207, down to 205. 1 more lb to get back to my ticker weight. I am hoping to be there tomorrow. Then on to onederland, hopefully. Hope I didnt miss anyone, there was a lot. Just glad this thing is back up and running. Hoe everyone has a great night.

Maddiesmom-check in soon, dont make me cyber stalk you again, lol.

MaddiesMom 11-14-2009 09:51 PM

Hi Ladies!!! I've missed being on here the past few days...it was driving me nuts not seeing what everyone was up to!

Neesy: Glad you are still going on vacation and seeing the hubby! Even though you are still on base, I know you must be excited to just spend time with him. I'm hoping he can come home for Christmas! :)

AJ: Glad you are going to have your motivation back on Monday. Don't look at it as giving up, we've all been there. I was going through something similar last weekend, but realized that I wasn't happy being larger, and I'm the reason I got so heavy, so I have to do the work to get the weight off. You are absolutely beautiful no matter what, I just want you to be happy...and I know you're not happy at the weight you are at.

tiff and Burgundy: Good luck on your cleanse/diets! Hope it works for you. There's no way I would have the will power to do what you are doing!

Staccie: Glad you like your trainer and congrats on your workouts! You definitely sound happier and now that you have a trainer to answer to, it makes it harder to "slip up."

Sandy: CONGRATS ON 210!!! WOW!:carrot::carrot: You deserve it..you have been working so hard (at work and working out), great job!!!

Well ladies, today was a good day (mostly). Went to the gym with my trainer, who is just the sweetest guy ever. We did a fitness assessment and I was able to do 126 sit ups in 2 min! Plus, it turns out I lost another 1% of body fat (in less than 3 weeks), and when I started it said that my physical age was 40 (yuck...I'm only 30) but as of today, it was 34!! I actually went down 2 years in 3 weeks, so I'm proud of myself. But, now I hurt my back, I think it was due to doing crunches on the hard floor and I'm hurting big time. Hopefully I will be ok tomorrow.

And........the biggest milestone.........

Went shopping today and fit into size 16 slacks!! Haven't done that in years! I was so excited. I find it funny, I tried on some clothes (2X) and none of them fit. Then I realized, I haven't gotten used to shopping in the smaller sizes yet. So, I am in a XL now, which I am totally psyched about, so I am hoping to be a size 14 by my birthday (1/15). Mr. Hott (my trainer) said not to just go by the number on the scale, and to focus on % of body fat and inches lost as well. so, I am more motivated after I got into those size 16. What's amazing is that it's TOM too!

I'll be back to weigh in tomorrow. Have a great night!

PammyFl 11-14-2009 10:17 PM

Staccie- Grats on going with the salad instead of the taco. Thanks for the info on the trainer side of things. I want to look into one once I move to Chicago and get settled into a gym. Right now its just walking and workout videos for now. LOL on the not "making your boobs flattering" to your trainer. You made me giggle. I think I would go for a little eye candy just to push myself harder.
Popcorn- I so wish I even knew how to plan a big thing like Thanksgiving. With my bf AND his family coming its kinda hard. Im just going to try to get back on track after its over, thats what worrys me the most. Is not being able to get back on after Thanksgiving.
Neesy- Im so happy your getting to see your husband. Have fun and enjoy it!
Burgundy- I have been doing the 30DS everyday except Sunday.Im almost done and then I dont know what im gonna do haha. Sunday is me and my bfs day to just lay in bed on the phone or watch shows over aim.

I have had a busy day today. I got up this morning and had to help my dad split logs..yes I said split logs. He bought a log splitter (my dad loves unneeded gadgets) to split firewood and Its basically like a skiing machine and you have to pump these two handles back and forth while bending over (ugh being tall sucks) talk about a total upper body workout. My shoulders are killing me. I later went with my sister out to the local community race track where my brother in law races go carts where we had to listen to him brag after winning haha men. Im ready to hit the bed my shoulders hurt and im tired so I hope you ladies are having a good weekend!

MaddiesMom 11-14-2009 10:23 PM

Pammy: When are you moving to chicago? Are you going to be living in the city or the 'burbs? I only ask because I live in the Chicagoland area (I'm more north...near Wisconsin), but I can give you suggestions of gyms that you could go to. I have been to many o fthe chain places in this area and could give you an idea of where to go.

PammyFl 11-14-2009 10:51 PM

Maddies- I'm planning on moving sometime next year not really sure when but hoping sometime before November. He literally lives walking distance from this place..http://galterlifecenter.org/ So we will probably try it out

PammyFl 11-14-2009 10:56 PM

UGH double posted again. I was hoping all the 3fc lag issues would be gone today, but nope :( Since I have this post I will post a recent pic I took from today...
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...a/2a707178.jpg I dont really like my hair in it but im starting to look "normal"

mygritsconfessions 11-14-2009 11:08 PM

Wow! We are up!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!! I really missed you guys and starting stressing today from it! LOL.......I can't write much, because I just got home from work, need to go to bed to get up early and do it again - work that is in the morning.

Anyway, I ate tonight, but it was from stress and fatigue. I have been doing good, so I am not worried about it, because I needed a "I don't give a s***" evening. I weighed in at 210, and am really happy about that. Tomorrow is a new day ;-)

Neesy, I am soooo thrilled you are up spending some quality time with your husband ;-) You deserve it and so does he!

I will write more tomorrow night when I get home. I am excited for all of you weighing in tomorrow! Oh, Maddiesmom, love the new picture of you both. Adorable ;-)

Nite.

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-14-2009 11:56 PM

Hi ladies...lots of stuff to read - woo hoo!

I just got home from my nails getting done, window shopping - I didn't buy anything because I told myself I have to earn it. I have to earn it by doing good and seeing results. So, when I can fit into a pair of pants that I have that are too small - I get to buy a pair of grey boots.

Sandy - love your attitude too - tomorrow is always a new day :)

Pammy - you look great and you have such gorgeous healthy hair!! And I bet you will be even more sore tomorrow but what a great to way to get that V taper...and something different - that sounds fun for me! I love being outside and the smell of everything in it. Although once when I tried to chop logs, I chopped myself!

Vicky - congrats on the loss and the new pants...that is awesome. It feels so good. We are in the same size :)

Burgandy congrats on making good choices today! It feels great after doesn't it. Fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow. I agree, if we have to have it - then have it but if we can find a reduced version of it - even better. It leads to less obsession!

Neesy - congrats on the update for your husband, so happy for you! And living close to LV is tough, I live close to all the premium shopping - Gucci, etc etc - but until I get skinny - not going in there. And when I do get to where I want to be...oh watch out retirement funds :) It's not necessarily the label I like, I like the quality and fit of clothes like that - they are timeless, elegant and look awesome. I always say you get what you pay for, although I shop at a few stores that sell way cheaper stuff and it lasts just as long so who knows :)

Popcorn - thanks for the compliment on the picture - I am considering what to do with my hair again and that was one of my favorite cuts. I love it long, but it's so much work...

Well excited to see the weigh in's tomorrow....I'm going to watch a movie and eat some nuts (soy ones) - I wish they were some other kind, but hey, at least I can do it in my old lizard pj's :)

Check in tomorrow!

PopcornGal 11-15-2009 10:37 AM

Good morning everyone!

Pammy - you look fantastic. It looks like you don't have anymore to lose. You should feel very proud of yourself that is an incredible weight loss. I cannot imagine having your height, I am a shrimpy 5'3".

Burgundy - you did darn good on that cookie walk. I would have eaten the cookies before we even got in the front door of the house. I have never frozen cookies - I eat them as if it is my civic duty. :o You will definitely make it to the 190's with that kind of willpower.

MaddiesMom - that is sooooo cool about the size 16 slacks. It is always fun to realize you are size smaller than you thought. Your little girl is adorable. Keep up the good work.

Neesy - that is great news about your husband. Plus I love your outlook - very glass half full. It will be so nice for you guys to see each other.

Grits - love the "don't give a s*** evening" concept. Especially in light of you being so good. I am not ready to trust myself with one of those yet as I am afraid it will turn into a week.

Staccie - I like your shopping mentality. I am trying to do that too - reward myself. I want some new pants but right now I am just trying things on and not buying because I want to wait until the next size. For now I will just keep trying on the clothes in the closet and hope some of them fit soon. I did squeeze into a pair of pants last week that I would not have been able to wear a week ago. Of course they were still too tight but I wore them anyway as I only have one outfit that really looks okay.

Last night we celebrated a week of hard work by going out to dinner. I had a 10 oz. steak with cajun spices, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies from Applebees. I cut the steak in half immediately and put that and half the potatoes in a to go box immediately. Because I had save some of my lunch calories for dinner I was able to get my day in without going over calories. :carrot:

This week's weigh in: 156.5 ......... a loss of 4 lbs.

Got to get outside and finish these leaves as we are expecting a week worth of rain. I did get most of the area around our agility equipment cleared.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone today - remember tomorrow is a new day and week. We can do it with the help of each other. You have all been very helpful to me.

TiffTiff1985 11-15-2009 11:01 AM

I weighed in this morning at 291.4 which was 9 lbs down from Monday, but only 3 lbs down from the beginning of the challenge.

Great job Popcorn!!! 4lbs at your weight is a super achievement!

Love the picture pammy! Popcorn is right, you don't look like you need to lose anymore.

Can't wait to hear from everybody else!

SimpleRhythm 11-15-2009 11:44 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

I missed you so! I find it kind of amusing that so many of you changed you icons this week...it feels like when you don't see someone for a while and then when you finally do see them they look so different!

Staccie- Sounds like you're in a really good place right now! Nice tip leaving the gym clothes in your locker...whatever it takes right!

Burgundy- I am really in awe of your self-control on this new diet! Is this day 5 or 6? and skipping all the cookies for the sf pb cups! Awesome!

Neesy- Yea for creative solutions! So glad that you and hubby will get to spend some QT around the holidays. I'm sure in the end all of this will just bring you closer together =-)

Popcorn- Awesome WI this morning! Your giving me a run for my money!!!

Pammy- Lol about your dad's electric log chopper...what a man invention... I love you new pic! You are so close to goal! Sometimes I forget because you are so tall and I don't exactly have that blessing.

Maddie'sMom-Great to here from you! It sounds like you are really in a groove...and your right, it is so strange to find yourself in a different clothing size!

AJ- Quit? What? I don't think of going off plan for a few days as quitting! You're so close to goal...so it is probably time to start thinking more long-term... But you don't need me to tell you that it sounds like you are already heading in the right direction =-) I am also on board with the healthy lifestyle crew!

Whew! I think that's everthing...

As for me things are...meh...okay... Weighed in the am at 151.5 which means a 1.5 loss from last weeks WI. It's exciting but I kind of expected it because of TOM has gone and generally takes a lb or 2 with it. Regardless I'm at a low for this challenge and plan on really pushing hard this next week!
Sundays are always pretty busy for me because I work...hopefully today won't be too stressful though. I hope to get in a short work out as well...we'll see...

Oh! I forgot to tell you guys (due to 3FC being lame yesterday) that I did my 11 mile run! Yea! And I actually did more than that because I got lost and couldn't find the park...lol... So glad I got it done because there is only 2 weeks now to the 1/2 and it's been raining nearly everyday here!

Have #$$ kicking day chickies!

SimpleRhythm 11-15-2009 11:46 AM

Tiff- 9 lbs...WOOT!

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-15-2009 12:05 PM

Morning everyone....from rainy and dreary Vancouver. Ewww I would rather it be cold and snowy than this! I hate being wet all the time, but at least the birds don't really come out!

I have lots to do today and I'm kinda procrastinating...

I'm down 2.5 this week :)

Congrats on everyone else so far...awesome work all!!!

dancerindenver 11-15-2009 12:31 PM

Woohoo for 3fc being back up and normal again - I SOOO didn't like being cut off from you girls!!

BF is out of funkdom FINALLY and we've had a great time this weekend - we left a car in the movie parking lot 3.5 miles away and walked to a late afternoon movie in the snow yesterday so I got in my exercise which was good. And we have over a foot of snow now but I'm going for a walk with my sis then taking her b-day shoe shopping after which is always fun. I'm hovering a bit above ticker but I'm not changing that sucker - I'm going to be sticking to plan like glue!

So much to catch up on - this may take me a few tries!
tifftiff - wowza - that's amazing progress!
mygrits - you are killing this - way to go!
pammy - love your photo - you look wonderful!
staccie - woohoo for 2.5! Girl, you rock!
simple - WTG on 11 miles!!!
popcorn - nicely done at applebees - that's the perfect way to control portions.
maddiesmom - congrats on size 16!!!! It's so fun fitting into smaller sizes!!
burgundy - I SOOO couldn't handle cookies in the freezer - I'd be thinking about them all the time. I really admire your will power and discipline! Sounds like you are doing great on the gf diet - you will be in onederland in no time!!

ajowens 11-15-2009 12:33 PM

Staccie- Wooo hoo!! Thats awesome. I am so glad that you are losing and kicking butt! PS My best friend in Denver hates birds so much and so when ever you say something about them I laugh and laugh!

Tiff- You are amazing. You really committed. Wish I wasn't so lazy! I want to ride a bike =)

Simple- Thank you. Congrats on your run. Sounds great.

Dance- We have missed you! Great job with the walking and I miss the snow so so so so much!

I am +3lbs. What ever. I got a new scale that tells me the water weight, fat and muscle % and so on and its pretty cool. Its sunday and its been a long weekend and I am excited to try something different.

dancerindenver 11-15-2009 12:45 PM

Okay, so I'm still catching up as I couldn't read the earlier stuff properly with all the site issues.

neesy - that is the best possible use of prize money that I've ever heard of! So excited for you! And glad you still have xmas to look forward to as well. Great news!

staccie - I'm SOOO proud of your self control - do you know what's different right now? Is it the trainer or your mindset? Whatever it is, isolate this really controlled feeling so you can get back to it anytime you need to. WTG, girl!

aj- honey, what is going on? I'm so sorry you're having a tough time! HUGS!! It sounds to me like you're being crazy self-critical when really you're just having a break, okay, maybe a little more than a break but basically that. You are so close to goal (AND LOOKING FABULOUS!!!) that of course it will take longer to make progress and maybe you just need to hang out where you are for a bit and enjoy it. Lindy and I were talking last week when we met up about how tricky it is to get super motivated when you're most of the way there, fit into cute-ish clothes again and know you're in the healthy range again. As neesy said, this is exactly the point in the past where I would quit and slowly start gaining again. NOT THIS TIME! Of course, we still want to get to goal but I think it's okay to not be in a mad rush and take a chunk of time to enjoy where you are. So, is that a little bit of what's going on with you? Plus moving to a new place and all of the hard adjustments that that entails? If I had to move somewhere new where I didn't know anyone AND I didn't have a job to keep me busy, I think I would go nuts. Is there any community service type stuff that you find interesting that you could get involved in for a bit while you're looking for just the right job? Just a few hours a week even, at the dumb friends league or women's shelter or something. I think that would help keep you in balance. At least it helps me stay grounded. Anyway - sorry to go on and on - I just feel for you. And I don't know if I could make it through this next week without my mileage buddy!! :)

PammyFl 11-15-2009 01:25 PM

Staccie-Thank you! I did enjoy it more than I considered it a pain. I love being outside so to me it was just another workout and yeah my shoulders are killing me today haha
Popcorn- Thanks! I wish I didnt have anything to lose. Im only a size 14 and I really want to be an 8 but im pushing more for a 10 because of my height and hips It might be nearly impossible. That dinner sounds yummy, your making me hungry!
Tiff- Thats amazing on the weightloss!!!!
Simple- Thank you! It is a advantage to being tall but also a disadvantage to always weigh more than everyone else. Way to go on those 11 miles. Wow that has to make you feel on cloud nine!
Dancer- Thanks... Snow? Whats that? haha My first time seeing snow was just last year in Chicago. Grats on walking.

Im so excited to be going to the bike path today. I haven't rode in FOREVER. Me and my sister use to ride religiously on Sundays but because of her busy family she hasn't had a chance to and im soo happy to be going today. Plus its gorgeous outside and I get in a workout with something thats fun to me. Hope everyones having a good day im getting dressed and ready to head out. I know my bike surely misses me haha

TiffTiff1985 11-15-2009 02:55 PM

So as AJ mentioned, I just got back from a bike ride. We had a route planned that was 11 miles, but we were halfway done and I just felt like I could do so much more so we did some quick thinking and figured out a way to go further without going in circles so we ended up doing 13.5 miles instead and it felt great. Yeah my butt is sore and my feet were numb by the end, but it was super invigorating.

This morning I was actually feeling kinda crappy about the weigh-in. Now let me explain why. While I lost 9 lbs this week, I am still 6 lbs from my previous low and I have only lost 3 lbs in the two weeks of the challenge. Because I strayed and didn't stay focused. If I hadn't done that and gained and lost the same 10 lbs about 10 times, I would be SOOO much further along. I just wish I could stay focused for longer than a month at a time. Once you girls commented on it though, it knocked me out of that negative mood and I am happier about it. Hopefully next week I can be back to where I was and then just move forward from there.

Pammy, holy crap you are a 14?!?! I had it in my head that I would never be happy at a 14 because thats what I was in high school and I thought I was fat. If I looked like you at a 14 though, I would be thrilled. I would have guessed an 8. Guess that shows my perspective is just a little off. Anyways, you look great and can't wait to see you at goal. You'll be one hot chick. Have fun on your bike ride, I know I did!!

Dance, last year when I went to Ohio to see my husbands family, we went on a walk one night through the snow (my first time ever!). That was one he!! of a workout. I am impressed that you guys walked 3.5 miles through the snow. It's worst than walking through the sand which I just can't do at long distances either.

AJ, I am sending good thoughts your way on your fresh start tomorrow!

Simple, great job on both your loss and run!! I still can't imagine the day when I can run 11.5 miles. My mom just told me that she was doing the disney half marathon in January so she is running 3 times a week to train. My goal is to run the turkey trot next year. About 5 people from my job are running it this year, so I want to be able to next year. It's kinda an ego killer that my mom can run 10 miles and I can't even run a 1/4 mile.

Well I'm off to clean. tty chicks later.

Neesy_20 11-15-2009 04:32 PM

Wow. So glad to hear all the losses this week.. and the motivation to lose if you did not. So proud of all of you!

I weighed 183.8 today. Which probably isn't accurate. After I drink, I always weigh less the next day. Guess getting all the fluid off from peeing so much. haha. So.. I'll call it 184. Which is 2lbs down from last week. YAY! My head is throbbing right now.. drinking.. ugh. I won't be doing this again for a really long time. Sorry for the short post. Will catch up more later on when this headache goes away.

ajowens 11-15-2009 07:13 PM

You wanna know what I love?? I think I heard you say yes telepathically so here goes....

I love getting new bedding. And new pillows. Sleeping on new fluffy nice pillows like perfect clouds wrapped up in a over stuffed down comforter. I could just stay in bed forever. Okay thanks for caring what I love =)

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-15-2009 07:21 PM

Very positive day :) I spent three hours at the gym, I really only worked hard for an hour and then rode the bike and walked the treadmill for two hours while watching 2 episodes of the biggest loser. I always feel like a lump for watching TV, so the deal is, if I want to watch TV, I have to work out while doing it. Our gym has their own tv's on all the cardio equipment so it works out awesome. It's a good thing that I don't watch too much TV, or I might wither away :) I did about 20 miles on the bike and 5 on the treadmill. Not bad for a lazy, rainy Sunday. I worked out my lower body with weights prior to that, I felt pretty shaky :)

AJ - you go girl with a fancy new scale and a new day tomorrow...I so agree with Dance's comments - you can do this...

Pam - you are a size 14 - holy crap would never know it. Goes to show that size means F all sometimes!! Hope you had fun on the bike ride today!!

Tiff - oh I can so relate to what you said, I've been losing and regaining the same 10 pounds since April - I am determined to not regain it again!! And I think for me, I go too hard at things (exercise and eating) and then I get frustrated and it all goes to ****. So I am being (well trying to) a bit more accepting that I don't need to be perfect and if I want chocolate so bad, to have some. I am convinced trying too hard to be perfect is what is sabotaging me. Good job on the bike ride today, my bum was sore to and I was in the bike seat at the gym which is built to be more comfortable :)

Congrats on the loss Neesy! Hope that headache/hangover disappears soon!

Well I am off to get some work done. Night everyone

Brown Eyed Staccie 11-15-2009 07:22 PM

AJ - I can relate to the new bedding...or clean sheets right out of the dryer...heaven - it's the simple things like that - can sure make our day!

Enjoy!!

mygritsconfessions 11-15-2009 08:05 PM

Simple, a loss is a loss and for that congratulations! You are right, Tom can really change things and cause you not to lose that extra 2 or 3 lbs. Also, Woo Hoo on the 11 mile run!!!!!! Gosh that is totally amazing. I am happy to make it 3 miles! LOL..

Popcorn, congratulations on the 4lbs loss, that is huge! I know you feel better, lighter and proud of yourself, as you should.

Tiff, you are really on your way with 9lbs down. Gosh that is toally amazing and I know you are feeling good. How long are you going to do this cleanse?

Pam, can I sooo relate to no snow as I am 2 hours south of you....LOL....us Florida girls. This weather is awesome isn't it, but I do wish we had change of seasons, as it would be perfect then.

Neesy........LOL.......glad your having a good time, and maybe you lost from some cardio???? You know husband being around........LOL.......sorry couldn't resist.

AJ you are right on. I love, love, love going to be knowing they are clean, crips, cool sheets. Gosh, I would wash them everyday if I could! LOL..

Staccie you are at such a great place know and I am sooo proud of you! It sounds like your workout was awesome, and I too enjoy the Biggest Loser because it motivates me to move my a**......LOL

Today was work, work, work, but I am home now and relaxing.......finally. Today was good, but no workout, but food was alright. I am down 3lbs from last week and it is 7lbs from the start of the competition.

I will check in before bed ;-) How is Lindy and Dance??

PammyFl 11-15-2009 08:32 PM

Tiff- Wow thank you so much I cant wait to reach my goal. You totally made my day saying I looked like I wear a 8. I hope one day to actually fit into a pair of 8s. Grats on the ride. Isnt it relaxing and energizing all at the same time? We only did 10.5 miles because it started to get dark too soon and the path doesn't have lights. But it felt awesome to be back on my bike again.
Aj- I LOVEEEE new bedding. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Nothing like 1200 thread count sheets and a thick warm comforter. Im obsessed with decorating (I should have been an interior designer) I see stuff and instantly imagine it somewhere.
Staccie- I have always been able to fool people because of my height I guess it has its advantages. My brother in law actually guess my weight 30lbs lighter than what I actually weigh, so It made me feel awesome.
Grits- Tell me about it. I get so sick of summer summer summer summer. Dont get me wrong I love the heat but come on cant we get something different for a change? I really want a white Christmas SOOOOO BAD. To me Christmas is hot chocolate and warm pjs and opening presents by the tree with frost on the window while its snowing outside. Not everyone in shorts sipping eggnog in 80degree weather.

TiffTiff1985 11-15-2009 09:13 PM

Pammy why did you have to go and mention eggnog?!? I haven't had my token bottle of eggnog this year and now it is going to be in the back of my mind!

Mygrits...awesome weight loss!!!!You are killing it this challange! I am thinking about doing the cleanse until a day or two before Thanksgiving and slowly get back to eating. That would be like 12 days total. Wait that can't be right. I am on day 6 so all next week would be 13, then Mon and Tues of Thanksgiving week, so that would be 15. Lol. That's better. I can do math I promise. However, I may have to break it before then to get tests run on my Thyroid. I don't want to mess up the results because I wasn't eating. We'll see what they say on Wednesday. That's my initial appointment.

Um, today I am hungry. Have been all day. I forgot to mention when I went with my mom yesterday, I just got a small side salad and ate like half of it. So I really didn't break the cleanse too bad. I think this should be really motivating for my future dieting. To just be able to think back, of course I can say no to that one bad thing. I didn't eat solid food for 2 weeks! I do hope tomorrow is better though for my appetite!

Tiff- Lol on the eggnog. I LOVE eggnog and I actually tried to make my own two days ago and failed miserable. Eggnog is one thing I wont be giving up but only allowing myself some in moderation.

mygritsconfessions 11-15-2009 11:32 PM

Thanks for the compliments, but the same goes out to you all - your doing great! Tiff and Pam.............EGGNOG, oh gosh I could drink a gallon of it. I LOVE eggnog, and it loves my hips! LOL........ Pam I agree, Christmas is snowmen, frosted windows, eggnog, hot cocoa, fireplaces burning, ice skating rinks and snowflakes in the window. Awww, I miss it. ;-(

Well, I guess I will go to bed. I didn't behave tonight, so I KNOW I have to workout tomorrow morning before work. I need to kick it back in for the week! My new goal is 208, NO EXCUSES!

ajowens 11-16-2009 02:07 AM

Pam- My parents make the best home made (STRONG) eggnog every year. It is so good but it takes like 3 days. I will ask for the recipe tomorrow.

Okay. I am going to text Lindy in the AM. Well for her it will prob be lunch time. lol. 2 hour time difference. I have been eating a lot of oranges to keep my blood sugar high so that I don't crave all of the soda right away. Thats myweak spot. SODA! some people like cake... I like soda. Nothing like 2 cups of sugar for breakfast lunch and dinner. ha.

Okay good night and I will be trying to rejoin you all in the morning. Skinny dreams girls!

TiffTiff1985 11-16-2009 08:56 AM

ARG!!! I thought halloween was over and I didn't have to worry about candy temptation anymore! there is a giant bowl of candy in the kitchen and I already had 4 bite size snickers in less than an hour. oh my. its gonna be one of those days. I guess I am off the cleanse. I need one of you guys here slapping my hand everytime I try to go for more candy. Plus chickfila is in the back of my mind so it is going to take all of the willpower in the world to keep me from going there for lunch. UGH.

PopcornGal 11-16-2009 09:01 AM

Good morning everyone!

Fortunately, I don't like eggnog so all your talk about it won't tempt me.

AJ - I am so soda addicted and not that crappy tasting diet stuff I like the good sugary regular soda. But I gave it up almost 10 years ago. I can still conjure up the wonderful taste of it though especially the fountain soda. Mmmmm. Of course not drinking soda anymore hasn't kept me from putting weight on twice since I gave it up. Oh well, I tell myself that it would have been worse if I still drank it. Especially when I drank it with something salty like chips or POPCORN because I would drink the sweet soda then balance it with the salty then have to balance that with the sweet - a not stop cylce.

A week of rain is predicted here. Does the rain throw any other of you outside exercisers into a funk?

Wishing everyone a good day today.

TiffTiff1985 11-16-2009 09:02 AM

and I've moved on to the smarties...

ajowens 11-16-2009 09:03 AM

TIFF- NO! *slap* HANDS OFF =) Hide them so you are not tempted.

Popcorn- That is my current weakness. Fountain drinks with lots of ice. Ugh this morning is hard.

Apparently the 5 hours of sleep I got was good enough for my body because I am up. I am going to be either napping or cranky today. lol.

dancerindenver 11-16-2009 09:20 AM

Morning girls!
Tiff - It's fine if you don't want to continue with the cleanse but can you get rid of the candy in the bowl? Put it in the garbage and pour something nasty all over it? Your hubby can live without for a bit just to help you out, right? You've been doing so well - you know you want your losing streak to continue!!

aj - fluffy bedding is the best -totally agree! Hope you can get in a nap - that doesn't sound like nearly enough sleep!

mygrits - woohoo on your losses - you are doing SOOO well!!! Okay, what are you doing foodwise? I need some inspiration!

Lindy - we miss you! Hope you had a great weekend!

pammy - when you move to chicago, you'll definitely be getting your fill of chilly weather! I've been there a few times in dec/jan for work and brrr! Fun opportunities to wear cute winter clothes though :)

popcorn - I guess I'm weird but I actually like running in the rain. Maybe you need some inexpensive rain exercise gear, like a new windbreaker in a pretty color from one of the discount stores or something to get you psyched about it. I usually run in the rain in a baseball cap so it doesn't get in my eyes or on my face so much. Hope the weather turns around for you guys!

No exercise for me today but got in a few long walks over the weekend and am going to do one of my new workout videos tomorrow if the snow hasn't melted.

PopcornGal 11-16-2009 09:27 AM

Dancer - I have a really good rain coat that I bought from one of those outdoor specialty catalogs. It works great because it keeps you dry but you don't sweat. But I fell in some sludge a couple of years ago. It was under a pile of leaves and I stepped in it. It looked like a cartoon moment where you step on a banana peel - I literally went up in the air and landed flat on my back on asphalt. Since then I guess I have been a little hesitant to be out in the Fall when it is wet since you can't tell with the leaves where you are stepping. Even some of our sidewalks are covered around here. But I have thought about being brave and venturing out in it as I mentioned to my husband. Thanks for the encouragement.

TiffTiff1985 11-16-2009 09:43 AM

I can't hide them!!! they're in the office kitchen for everyone to have! I have to go in there every hour or so to fill up my water bottle. but I think I'm ok now. I let myself have one more snickers and I ate ate a vig bowl of grits so I wasn't starving and I am telling myself I can't have anymore. no more! lol. I was fine with candy last week, what's my issue now???

burgundyrayne 11-16-2009 09:47 AM

Quick check in. I will try to catch up with everyone later.

Yesterday was going good. Picked up one of the boys from his grandmas at 830am. Went to the grocery store and ran a few other errands. Took him back to his house. We were just laying there watching cartoons and all of a sudden the worst pain I have ever felt hit me on my right side(back, hip, stomach, leg) So madde plans for my husband to come pick me up and for grandpa to pick up the boy. Went straight to the ER to find out I have kidney stones. AWFUL. If you havent had them, I hope you never do. I have never felt pain like this. It is excrutiating. After a CAT scan and xrays Dr said it is only a millimeter and will pass on its own. Got a scrip for vicodin, gonna go pick that up now.

For the weigh in, I was back at 204 yesterday. Then today I was at 206. I am guessing it is from the IV and having to drink so much. I am gonna stay away from the scale until this is over. Also I read that drinking too much grapefruit juice can contribute to stones. So I guess I wont be doing the GF diet for a while. This sucks, I was hoping to do it and get to 199. Oh well, back to counting calories I guess.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me. I will catch up with you all later.

ajowens 11-16-2009 09:55 AM

Tiff- I bet your blood sugar is so low on that cleanse! I bet your body would have killed for that sugar. Also some weeks I like candy and the next... don't want it even if it is there. Maybe you had enough at halloween for a while and now you need to "restock" lol.

mygritsconfessions 11-16-2009 10:01 AM

Popcorn & AJ what do you put on a car battery to eat away and remove the crap built up around the cables? Soda. LOL........Just think what it does to your body.......LOL. Thought this might help you not want one. It helps me.

TIFF NO NO NO NO 'SLAP' 'SLAP' NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have worked so hard the last two weeks, and my gosh the workouts and bike rides. DON"T sabotage your efforts! Don't sabotage YOU! Stop it!!!

mygritsconfessions 11-16-2009 10:10 AM

Ok, I will write more now. I wanted to get my 'shout out' to Tiff fast. LOL

Dance thank you for the compliment. I am just eating foods that keep my sugar levels balance and hormones. Lately I am hooked on oatmeal with fruit for breakfast (mixed in), Jasmine Rice with a small tad of butter, s & p for taste for lunch. During the after I may have a Tangerine and later some dark chocolate to curb my sweet tooth. Dinner I am majorly hooked on an Ezekial wrap with all types of veggie stuff in there (like a salad) with some grated cheese and 2 Tbs of Ken's Steakhouse Vidalia Onion Salad Dressing. If I want something before 8pm I have a yogurt with some almonds thrown in. Thats my day and the calories run about 1200 to 1400.

Burgund that does suck. I am sooo sorry. My husband has had them twice the last 5 years and was literally on the floor in pain, rush to ER and given the drip and pain killers. It is awefull and I hope you pass it soon. I am so sorry.

Well, I am workout out today - before work, to kick this weeks weightloss in. I have to get to 208 this week. Thats my goal.

Hey where's Lindy?????????? Hmmmm must be alot of dates! ;-)

luckylindy 11-16-2009 10:35 AM
