  • mystical- I don't like working out at home either if my boyfriend is there. Its funny though, I don't care when I'm in a gym around 100's of people, but I feel more self conscious doing it at home around like 1-2 people.
  • Thanks shasha and mystical I just got off the treadmill, did 50 minutes walking/jogging, yay!. It feels good to have broken that 4 day no exercise slump.

    Catch you chickies later!
  • So the daughter calls me back today and up's the rent. So she is all like, I need to pay it or she will evict me. OK! I told her, I could pay, X amount of dollars..if that wasn't good enough, then I'll move or whatever. I also inquired about the sale of the house and if they were in fact interested in selling it..so apparently someone should get back to me about it soon. But it looks like I'll have to find something else..and that is gonna be almost impossible and right in the middle of the school year at that. Urg... Suckaruni!
  • Hi all,

I'm a newbie and would love to join this challenge. My goal for September is to lose 10lbs. I have already lost 3, so 7 more to go.

    Good luck to all!
  • Hi sylv. Welcome to the challenge. Congrats on losing the 3 so far. My goal is to lose 10 for the month and I am at 3lbs down as well.
  • Delphi Oh sweetie I wish I could be there in person to support you here is a big for you... If you need anything just let me know...

ruth135 Good job. I just finished up with my first day of HIIT boy thought I was going to die... I had to bring down the levels a little DH told me maybe it was cause my legs are so short LOL

shasha17a Yeah when I was going to the gym I had no problems but here at home I don't want to workout with my boys or DH here I know it doesn't bother them but it does me LOL maybe I will get over that one day

I just finished up on HIIT well lets say I had my first day. Didn't get the levels that I wanted but hey at least I finally got of my bootie and did right... Movement is something LOL I feel so good and revived like a new me today. I am having my lunch. Tuna, whole wheat crackers, and veggies yeah finally I have got back on that wagon... I'll catch you guys later have a Fantastic Day!
  • sylv I know you will just love it here. This group is the best!!!!!
  • Hiya ladies! Have been missing in action for a few days, although I have read everyone's posts. I missed my morning post the other day, so figured I'd post at night, and then kept getting sidetracked, so it never actually happened, even though I sat down to do it many times, lol. Same thing happened yesterday, so today I am back to my old schedule of doing it in the morning!

Delphi, so sorry to hear about your situation. It must be so hard. Your landlord sounds so sweet, and I hope you are able to work things out with staying there or finding a great place to move into if nothing else. Hugs!

Ruth--congrats on getting out of your slump! I bet you feel so much better now!

Mystical and Shasha--I dreaded working out in public (not as bad as I thought though actually), but I refused to work out in front of my ex. I always felt so stupid at the idea, so just wouldn't do it if he was home.

And Shasha--congrats on the scale finally moving down! Isn't it funny when sometimes you eat more and yet the scale moves down! Really makes me a believer of the zigzag theory!

SG--sorry about your plateau....I hate those! Hoping yours ends quickly and you get your results you deserve! Especially with all that C25King you are doing. I noticed you are on week 6 now, W2G!!!!!!

Sandye---that is awesome about getting a full night's sleep! I can't wait to have one of those. Haven't slept through a full night in over 2 years now since DD was born. Now that she is starting to wake a little less ( 2 times a night versus her previous usual of 4-5 times), I still keep waking up cuz I am used to it.....grrrr! I bet you feel so refreshed! Hope tonight goes as well for you! Oh and congrats on your anniversary!

Ok, there are waayyy to many personals for me to catch up on after not posting for 2 days, lol. But I love you all anyways even if I didn't post about you!

Well, scale said 260 today! That means 3 major accomplishments: 1, I have lost 50 pounds! 2, I am only 1 pound away from my Sept goal of reaching the 250s! And 3, I have lost 25 pounds since I started the Jingle away the Jiggle challenge, which means I am halfway to my goal of losing 50 pounds by then!

I have noticed a huge difference in my clothes fitting the past week, so it has been lots of fun. I can wear things I have not been able to wear for YEARS.

And I finally got that Y membership and have worked out on the cardio machines 2 nights now. I think that will make a big difference if I put in an hour of solid cardio 3-5 nights a week. I want to do 5 nights a week, but am not sure if I can really afford paying for child watch for DD every weeknight, so might just do 3 nights. I am going to take full advantage of the cardio machines, and then will do STing and yoga at home using videos or the Wii. Also am still doing the walk uphill/run downhill every night when we get home from the gym. And am planning on starting C25K on the treadmill so will see how that goes.
I was planning on changing my Sept goal from 259 to 254...but now I am thinking of being extra positive and saying 249! I really think all this cardio is going to make a difference. I was doing cardio using DVDs...but I think that going nonstop on a machine might make a difference. In fact yeah, I am officially changing my goal to 249! Eek! Man the 240s....I haven't seen that since I was pregnant!

I am so dedicated to this I just spent $250 on a new ipod! If I don't have a video or the Wii telling me what to do, I would never have the focus to work out. When I walk/run or do the cardio machines, I rely on my ipod to distract me if that makes sense. Well, after the first night of working out at the Y, my ipod stopped working. (Stupid piece of cr*p), I just dropped over $250 for it a little over a year ago, and almost right after the year warranty was over, it just dies. I didn't drop it or anything! I am planning on driving over an hour to the Mac store one of these days, but I knew until I got my ipod fixed, I would not be motivated to go to the gym. So I went out and bought a new ipod. I shouldn't have spent that much money, but the great part is it is an ipod touch, so I can set it up where I can watch movies now when I work out, lol. Worked out to South Park last night and it made the workout soo much easier. I really shouldn't have bought it, but at this point anything that keeps me motivated is worth it!
  • mystical We must have been thinking the same thing, I just had salad with tuna and whole wheat sesame crackers, yum!

jessicado Congrats on the losses! That's crazy about the ipod, I hope that doesn't happen to mine.

So yeah I'm feeling pretty good now after the workout. Also, yesterday I finally booked the cabin for our vacation, yay! Now I can focus on the rest of the planning. I spent countless hours trying to decide on a cabin until I was ready to pull my hair out. We are going to only be 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg so we'll be close to all the action and still be secluded in the mountains. They are having a bluegrass festival during our stay, we love bluegrass music!
  • jessicado- Congrats on your 50lb loss. That is amazing and I know that you have been going through a lot these past few months. Just keep trucking right along and you will be there in no time.
  • Delphi - I would check into renters rights in your state. It might not be legal for her to raise your rent without a certain amount of notice. And I'm pretty sure that she has to give you at least 30 days notice for eviction. Sounds like the daughter is just being a witch. I hope everything works out for you.
  • jessicado that is amazing keep up the good work I know you can do it....

ruth135 That's too funny, well you know they say great minds think alike
  • I am so far behind on personals... Wow.

Delphi- That is such a crappy situation to be in. I feel for you and your family and hope that everything goes well!

ruth135- Wow!! Your vacation sounds amazzzing! I hope you have a great time! When are you going? What is HIIT btw?

Shasha- I used to make my boyfriend go outside for an hour, and would kinda yell at him if he came back in... Lol. I've gotten better now that I'm not huffing and puffing so much when I exercise...

sylv- WELCOME!! Jump right in and start chatting, I love this group and I'm sure you will to!

Sandye A full nights rest is 6 1/2 hours??!! Oh wow... You poor thing.

jessicado22 Congrats on the 50lbs mark!! That's wonderful! keep up the great work!

Well I have a few more to catch up on... Somedays it seems like I never will, but atleast I have some reading to look foward to!

I had a great day eating and exercise wise, and hopefully the scale budges soon! Stuck at 170!! Off to work at 7am, so I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow night!

    Night everyone!
  • Goooooooooooooood Morning Ladies and Happy Friday to you all!!

Ruth~ WTG on getting that workout in yesterday!! It's amazing how fast we get used to exercising and how awful we start to feel if we haven't done it. Hope you're feeling better today, PMS is the pits!! Your vacation sounds like it's going to be fun! I'm really wishing we could take a vacation soon!

    April
~ I'd say you did enough exercise on the farm to count for a couple of days! And my goodness, push ups and lunges at the END of the run? I don't know if I could do that!! That's awesome!! Thanks for the anniversary wishes and it's my pleasure to pound water reminders into everyone's pretty little heads daily--I'm just glad no one's told me to shut up about it already! And regarding my 6.5 hrs of blissful sleep--yeah, I consider that a full night. I've never needed a ton of sleep, but I tell ya, when you're getting 4 hours of broken sleep--it starts to wear on you and so when you suddenly get 6.5 straight--it feels like 12!!

Delphi~ Okay first of all CONGRATS on those 12's & 13's chickie!!! That is so freakin' awesome!!! I hope you find a scale you like soon, I'm sure it's driving you bananas!! I second the recommendation to check into renter's rights--I don't think she can just up the rent on you without at least a month's notice. That blows!

    Bootsie~ Aww, thanks dear!!

Tummy~ So, did you get yourself some new bands yesterday? Mine are on their way--they shipped last night! Which is more than I can say for my P90X! Hmph! I'm thinking I'm going to have to up my calories once I start that--it looks way more intense than my regular wimpy ST'ing for sure! I just have a hard time figuring all that calorie stuff out!

Shasha~ Thanks hun! I hope you're right about being below 140 soon, but hey, I'm lighter now than I ever thought I would be, so it's all good. Congrats on the loss!! Nothing nicer than a nice scale huh?

Mystical~ Thanks girlie! 10 years, man time flies!!! So, how'd ya like the HIIT? It's tough at first, but you'll get into a grove and soon you'll be plowin' through those workouts! So weird about your son having evening classes! My sister's school is all wonky this year due to budget cuts and she's got some days where she's out of school super early. I hear ya on not liking working out in front of anyone. I can do my ST'ing and my abs, but if I were to pop in a video that required bouncing around or dancing type stuff--forget it! I am so uncoordinated I look like a total goof and I'd rather not have an audience for that!

Nella~ Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to our evening out!

Sylv~ Jump right in and make yourself at home!!

Jessica~ Yeah, a good night's sleep is something I cherish and value like never before! Not to scare you, but my oldest is almost 9 so I figure since he was born I have maybe slept through the night 10-15 times. It makes ya crazy I tell ya!! CONGRATS on 50 lbs gone forever girlie!! That's fantastic!! I too am amazed that you've be able to stay so on track with all that you're going through right now!!! That stinks about your iPod, I wonder if you need a new battery perhaps? The new one sounds cool though and you're right, sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do to keep motivated and motivated you are!! Love that you changed your goal--you can TOTALLY do it!!!

Well girls, it's September 11th. A day that's always bittersweet for me. My heart goes out to all the victims of the 9/11 attacks and all of their families and friends as well. Never before has anything saddened me like watching those towers fall and knowing that so many innocent lives were lost and so many families changed forever.

However, I can't forget that this day is a happy one for me as well. It's the day I married my wonderful husband. He is my rock, my best friend and the wonderful father to my beautiful children. We have been through so much over the past 10 years and I couldn't imagine going through it all with anyone else.

Okay, so now that I've officially gotten all sappy and weepy on you, let's change things up a bit!

The scale was finally kind enough to budge just a little today. Down a whopping .4 so I'm now sitting at 140.6, it's not much, but it sure beats seeing 141 again!

Hubby has worked out 3 times this week! Twice on the treadmill and this morning he hauled himself out of bed (despite multiple attempts to keep me in bed snuggling ) and did some upper body ST'ing. It was neat to have him in the basement with me working out by my side. He tried on some old pants this morning and discovered that he can now fit into pants he hasn't worn in 10 years! He's now super excited to keep it going, and while I don't predict that he'll be quite as enthusiastic as I am about working out daily, I feel better knowing that he's at least interested in working out more than he was.

We're heading to the Community Center today for open gym for the girls--I've never gone so it should be interesting. The girls got up pretty late this morning (Just about 10 mins ago) and that means I was actually able to get in all of my workouts uninterrupted!! AND I even got to shower alone!! Ahhh, it's the little things that make me happy!

Well girls, I better get going. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to...

    Drink Your Water!!!
  • Hey girls! Time is short as always lately...but I wanted to come a report.

First of all, Delphi, I agree with Nella and Sandye. Check your rights and make sure you don't get totally screwed in the deal. Second, I'm so bummed to hear it's not going well with the house situation. That would make me so mad and frustrated. Just remember we're here for ya, even though we can't always make it better, at least you can vent!

We are going out of town this weekend (I swear this has been an outrageous season of out-of-town weekends!!) for a family get together in Iowa for a rodeo. It's tons of fun and the food isn't usually very off plan since everyone makes the same things every year. I just have to behave food-wise on the trip down and back. My only exercise option where we'll be is running, so that's what I'll be doing. I CANNOT wait to have nothing to do on weekends at some point. I get no time to relax. Today is my day off exercise yet I'm packing and loading the van, cleaning and doing laundry, finalizing things with our realtor for our house sale.... What a day off, huh!? Anyway, just had to whine!

P.S. I officially passed my 50# mark since I was 148.6 at WW last night.
