NSM, yep, I say golf counts too!

LoveDC, I'm loving your motivation!! Yay!! :dancer:

Does anyone remember when Ican is getting back from Alaska? I can't wait to hear about her trip! Hopefully, she'll have pics!! :cp:

Delphi 06-30-2009 03:08 PM

And Tummy to...

Anywho, I've thought about it Jacqui and I want to change my goal to 2500 total exercise minutes...and that's it. Just the one goal...if that's alright with you?

mystical 06-30-2009 03:20 PM

Do any of you work with resistance bands? I have a few and I am thinking on getting the bar that goes with it but I wasn't sure if it is worth the money?

Delphi 06-30-2009 03:22 PM

The only resistance bands I have came with the EA Active game I have and they...well they simply suck. I use hand weights, I just prefer them. I'm positive that I actually get better resistance with the hand weights as opposed to the bands. But use whatever works best for you Mystical. :)

Newshinyme 06-30-2009 03:26 PM

I have resistance bands. I bought them because the one with the Active truly do suck like Delphi said. Now that I am using the stronger ones I get a much better workout (for my biceps and some back muscles I add weights on top of them though).
I am not sure what that bar you speak of is though, but IMO if you like the idea of working with the bands and its going to keep you motivated, why not?

mystical 06-30-2009 03:52 PM

Thanks! I went to the fitness store here and they have a resistance band workout set and it has bar that you hook the bands too for pull-up and overhead press while doing lunges that sort of thing. I have a treadmill and my husband has a 3 station home gym. We are going to be moving into our new howm in a few weeks and we are making our basement into a home gym.

Jacqui_D 06-30-2009 04:18 PM

You got it, Delphi, one goal, 2500 minutes!

Mystical, that sounds like a good set. I have a couple of shorter bands and a long band, and I would think the bar would be very helpful. That's great that your DH and you are both going to be exercising and are making your new basement into a home gym!! I bought a Y membership in April, but my family room is looking more and more like a home gym, lol! I have a pilates exercise mat, 2 exercise balls, resistance bands, a recumbent bike, a healthrider, and I was just telling the girls in the June thread that I picked up a good elliptical worth $200-$300 at my local thrift store for $19.99! And at an auction this weekend, I picked up a set of three covered hand weights of different sizes with a stand for $2! I'd keep my eyes open for a treadmill, but I don't have any more room, lol!

mystical 06-30-2009 04:28 PM

We just bought our treadmill from and individual and he paid 1200 and we bought it for 300
