Hiya Sotypical! I've added you to the list too!
  • Ok I will join this, I was just tracking on my own, how does this work do we check in once a week or whatever?

    My goals are:

Mild yoga before bed 3x a week (mostly stretching and destressing)
Vigorous Yoga (have a vid) 1x a week
    Kettlebell workout 1x a week
    3 30min walks per week

or put in monthly status for your ease oh great and wonderful organizer

360 min. walking fast, 4x doing kettlebells, 4x yoga video, 12x stretching yoga

Seems way less ambitious than some but its WAY more than I do now so it should make a difference to me, and I know I just can't set up unrealistic expectations or I set myself up to fail...that is how I work.
  • I just came from the July Weight Loss,
Can I join here too? I am just getting started and this looks like a great place to keep me accountable and on plan with some awesome support.

I have great plan on paper at least I would like to have my goal that I will actually put it into action

    Goal:
Cardio: Treadmill 30 min for 6 days a week
Resistance: Full body workout 2 days a week
  • edzard ~ Between this thread and the weight loss challenge thread we are a chatty bunch of gal's. So most of us check in daily and others weekly. Then some of us post daily progress. We would love to have you in the July weight loss thread as well...though that thread is where we REALLY get chatty. WElcome aboard!

Mystical and all you new ladies...Welcome to the July Exercise THread and good luck!
  • Quote: Sandye ~ Yeppers, you should join us. I'll even go over a week when you are still doing yours if ya like. You know, because were cool like that.

NSM ~ That's right, no giving up while I'm around girly. Or I'll get Sandye on you.

..and welcome to the new additions. Good to have you gal's joining us.
Okay then, after I get back from TX I'll see how much the HIIT is kickin' my bootay and check back on the AE Challenge then.

I'm dyin' over here, you threatening to sick me on NSM!
  • Edzard and Mystical!! I've added you to the list! So good to have you both! Good luck!

Edzard, thank you so much for condensing your goals to make them easy for me, lol, but more importantly, I want them to be easy for you!! I know that I have my own listed by the week, but if you'd rather have them listed by the month rather than by the week, if that's easier for you, I'd be more than happy to change them! Just let me know!

To all our new chicks, this is a very chatty group of ladies, lol, moreso on the Weight Loss thread than on this thread, but still it's a very active thread! On both threads, everyone just checks in when they want to, although many of us can attest that the more you check in, the more accountable you'll end up holding yourself and the more we'll end up holding you too, lol! We really help each other along, but we don't want anyone to feel pressured into participating more than they are able to or feel comfortable doing! On this thread and on the weight loss thread, some people write personals addressing individuals, some people address the group as a whole, some people write multiple posts each day (like me!), some people check in once a week, or just whenever they can! But however you do it, there's no wrong way, and everyone is welcome! We are all so supportive of each other and that's the important thing! On this thread, we usually do list our daily progress to keep track of our exercise, but that doesn't mean we have to check in everyday, unless we want to! Just know that you can't do it wrong and we are so happy to have you!!

ETA: Lol, Delphi, I see you beat me to this!
  • Thanks much, viewing it weekly is way easier for me but so many had them listed out as monthly goals that I just decided it might be better to list that way like everyone else.
  • Edzard, oh good! I'm glad I got it right! Like you, I find it easier to take my goals week by week. So great! You're all set, chickie!
  • I just joined the July Exercise Challenge, too.

    this challenge

  • Hoping this will help me - accountability is a good thing. Also need some people to give me a kick every now and then!

    Goal - 930 minutes
  • JazzyPeggy, it's so good to see you fit right in with our mixed up little crowd, lol! This is the exercise thread, but I got ya! I've added your 10 lbs goal to the weight loss thread!

Jelder! I've added you to the list! Good to have you! Good luck!
  • Robbynmarie_k, Sugarbaby269, Merose, and Joyra!! Good to have you! Good luck!

    WELCOME BACK Cake!!!
  • Ok, so the exercise piece is proving very challenging for me of late so I am in. July will be my month to get my routine firmly reestablished. I'm going to focus on minutes completed for the month. I have found through the years that flexibility is the key so I'm not even going to tie myself to a weekly goal, just the entire month. I can walk, bike, swim, hike, yoga, whatever gets the minutes done in whatever increment I can do them. I will avoid all-or-none thinking! I am going to set a goal of 800 minutes which will be 625 min @ 150 per week + 125 min for some sort of hiking or extended bike ride.

Off to get my ticker figured out! Thanks for hosting the challenge!
