  • Susiemartin ~ Thanks dear.

Nello ~ Good luck with your new device and on the two pounds a week.

NSM ~ I started doing that this month actually. I have this little notebook that I write my schedule on everyday, and my calories, to do list and my weight. I think it will be a good reference point, if I ever hit a stall to go back and look at progress and fluctuations. Good for you for taking a day off. I really think our bodies thank us when we do. Oh and thanks!

Lene ~ thanks! I know they say most of this journey is eating right, but dangit if I'm not putting my all into exercise. It's just highly addictive for me and I love how I feel when I'm done. I'm glad you can actually see, that it is actually working. That makes me feel all warm inside. Thanks again.

Blondie ~ on the ticker. If ya need any help let me know. And yes, I take my measurements, the first of the month. Some times when the scale wont move, your losing inches, so yes, I definitely measure often. I measure my thighs, arms, calves, waist and hips.

Well I'm calling it a day. Gonna go hook Canaan up to his pump and take my butt to bed. You ladies have a great evening!
  • Hello ladies! Wow, you were chatty this afternoon! I love it! An active thread means determined chickies!!!

Delphi~ girl, naked Twister is for amateurs! I go for the crazy stuff--ya know, like semi-clothed backgammon!! You look fantastic! I mean, I've already said that a dozen times, but WOW! The difference in your midsection is crazy! You're so kickin' that fat's a double s! Woo hoo on the panties to YOU girlie! And girl, I feel the exact same way about you and every one of the girls in this group! Seriously, it's amazing how much inspiration and support everyone has here! *sniff* Okay, I'm not gunna cry...nope...not gunna...*sniff*

    Lauren~ Congrats on the loss!

    Lewis
~ Okay, where's a whip cracking smilie when you need one?! You know you're running out time--prayers alone aren't gunna help ya--it's time for some Tough Love Sandye Style! Now listen up! You get your bootay back in gear this very instant! Tell TOM to kiss it and move on girlie! He's not the boss--YOU are! You've got miles to make up? Well then, get to makin' 'em up! Come on chickie--you can do this, don't tell yourself otherwise! Hut, hut, hut--One Two Three Four, kick that fat right out the door!!!! There, did that help at all? Oooh, I just saw that you busted your heiny weed whacking and you did some cardio! Good for you--that's the spirit--keep up the great work!!!

Gekster~ Oh the weekends can be so freakin' hard can't they? They were always my downfall. Even when I planned on having a full cheat day I'd still end up cheating the whole weekend long. For me, hubby was a big part of it. He like to eat and not the healthy stuff. He was a bad influence and would kind of talk me into eating poorly. Either that or we'd work our tails off all day doing chores or be out all day running errands and go the easy route for dinner: Take Out. Ugh...this time is different though, he really should be watching what he eats (high triglycerides) and so he's less apt to suggest something bad for fear of a lecture from me. He still eats worse than he should, but I'm hoping that my staying OP will rub off on him one day soon. Hang in there, at least you realized it's a problem for you. Just take one day at a time and remind yourself about all the hard work you put in all week long. And if you want to splurge--like Velveteen said, plan for it. Yeah, easier said than done I know.

MsP~ sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! Wow, to see all those movies--without interruption--do tell, what was it like? Hope your laundry catch up day went smoothly! Mine was yesterday--amazing how fast 4 loads pile up! Sheesh!

Velveteen~ Egads! I'm glad your cats weren't here! You never know--I lost over 14 lbs in May and I was stunned! You could still make that goal! You never know if you don't try right?

Tummy~ The Big 30--now that's a 30 I can be happy about right? Thanks for the congrats. I hate when I wake up with half my nose shut tight! I'd rather be completely congested than just have half my nose work! I hope it clears up ASAP--Summer colds stink! LOL about the guy at the dump--hey, old gooters know a thing or two about hot chicks too! And eewww, sweaty mucus

Glutio~ aw hun, I wish you weren't feeling so awful! I can't believe you're having such a hard time nailing down what's going on! Chronic fatigue maybe? I'm not very knowledgeable about mystery illnesses, but I do hope someone can figure it out soon for you. On the bright side, congrats on the inches and lbs lost! Man, scary about the semi! Glad you're safe and good luck tomorrow!

Blondie~ you're so pretty! It's nice to put a face to the name! Oh yeah, I'm big on measurements! I measure everything! Bust, waist--the dreaded pooch--hips, thighs, calves and upper arms. If I could have measured my chins when I started I would have! Taking measurements is a must if you ask me! What better way to keep yourself motivated when the scale is being stingy than to see your measurements getting smaller?

Lene~ you can so totally make your goal! You just gotta push it girlie! Heck even if you don't, if you give it your all, that's all that matters right? So...a new toy huh? Hmm...I doubt hubby would let me spend $ on that right now...I've the the AE Active I still haven't used yet . However, I do think it's cool that it reminds you to work out! Are you finding the 30 sec rest to be more difficult? I thought I would, but I'm managing okay--until the last 2. After the 5th spring (jog) I'm talking myself through that 30 second rest, "come on, just one more, just one more and then you get 5 mins and 30 seconds of no jogging--come on now, it's just one more...one little jog more...you can do it!" Thank goodness no one can hear me!

NSM~ yeah, he was a cute little bugger! Daily weighing isn't for everyone, but I think you'll be fine--you're doing it for 'research purposes' mainly right? I'd be curious too (if I didn't weigh daily already that is). Congrats again on the 30 lbs girlie!

Nello~ so this GPS is for a person rather than a car? So is it like a watch or a band or something? I have this funny vision of someone carrying a GPS monitor around with them , I'm sure that's not right. Congrats on the 2 lbs a week!

So, the duckling is now in the hands of professionals. It was sad to drop him off, but I know he'll thrive in their care. The kids did well when we left, but later on my oldest was pretty upset. I think it might be time to break down and get the kids a real pet (we have fish and that's it--they're not much fun to play with ). I have a few pics, and I'll work on them here in a bit and post them.

Didn't get much accomplished today. I did find out that the shindig on Saturday has been pushed back to 4:00 rather than 1:00 so that gives me more time to enlist hubby's help should the house and yard not be ready by then. Rained all day so yardwork was a no go. I did manage to get some of the yard sale stuff moved down to the basement, I'll tackle the rest tomorrow.

Well ladies, I'll try to post duckling pics here soon. Hope you all had a wonderful day!!!
  • Quote: ya I get my signature today I just have to figure it out
    That is the best!!!!

Quote: I bought a new toy today to help me with the exercise portion of my weight loss. I got a Garmin Forerunner (Costco had a great deal) which is a GPS and will track how far I walk and my pace. It also looks at heart rate and calories burned. It is amazing how close it is to my SenseWear. One of my goals for this month is to keep a 1000 calorie deficit every day. So far I am on track and am losing 2 pounds a week by tracking it.
Guess I got to get to Costco again..seems like I am there EVERY week!!!

Quote: Blondie ~ on the ticker. If ya need any help let me know. And yes, I take my measurements, the first of the month. Some times when the scale wont move, your losing inches, so yes, I definitely measure often. I measure my thighs, arms, calves, waist and hips.
I've been doing that too...and I measure my neck. Last month I lost an inch there too!!! That was interesting.
  • AGHHH OK, OK, Crazymamaof4 you are SCARRY!!!! But thanks for the butt kicking, I will definately be making up my miles again tomorrow!!!! I am back in goal range tho thanks to todays miles. I am feeling better now that TOM has died!!!! Girls because of my make-up workout today, I am hitting the hay early!!!!!
    Love yall
    Cher
  • Holy Chatting Batman!
Wow I haven't checked in for the last couple of days, and there are pages of posts. Can you all imagine what would happen if we were in a room together.

Congrats to all of you that have lost this past week.
Tom has come with a vengence and taken me down....I refuse to weigh in until this weekend when he is long gone.
Between Tom and Mrs.Fibroids, I feel really fat this week.
  • Hee hee, Lewis, I'm sorry if I scared you!

Jacque~ ooh, I never thought about measuring my neck! Great idea!

Looking~ sorry TOM's causing you grief!

Well ladies, as promised, here's a baby duckling pic!

Isn't it the cutest little thing?
  • Jacque9999: I didn't see these at our Costco last weekend when I was there (though I got my husband's in store not long ago) so I ordered it at Costco Online. It is the Garmin Forerunner 305.

crazymamaof4: It's not as big as a GPS but the thing sure isn't attractive or dainty looking. But it does the job.

Our neighbor runs a Boot Camp for Women and she highly recommended it. She was also the one that recommended the Sensewear/GWF/BB and I love my SW so I figured I would listen to her again when she recommended this. There are also a lot of good reviews online. But boy is it huge!!
  • crazymamaof4: Your duckling is adorable!! Thanks for sharing pictures.
  • CM4- The BF is part of my downfall, I cannot blame him completely because I am the one the agrees to the take out and I make the choice to eat what I do and not workout, but he is definitely an instigator! I have gotten better when I compare 2 weekends ago with this past weekend, so I just gotta keep moving forward. Thanks for the support and such a cute duckling!
  • DUCKIE!!! SOOOOO CUTE!!!!

Ok, that's all the excitement I can muster. Got in about an hour nap before having to go with DH to a friend's house where they garden together. Still not feeling better, and of course it's the one time that I can't call in sick tomorrow. Joy!
  • Good morning everyone! Yes it's nearly 8am here and I'm on the train to work posting from my blackberry so I'm challenged to do personals at this moment! It's amazingly sunny here and I'm in such a good mood! This morning at 4.40 I got out of bed, got my gear on and headed across the street with DH in tow for C25K W5D3. I have been stuck on W5 now for several attempts and reasons and I finally did D3 (20 min running straight). I never thought I would be able to do it and yet, for some reason it was a piece of cake!

Full day at the office for me today. I wish you all a lovely sleep and a fantastic Wednesday!! I hope to catch up with you again this evening.

    xx
  • Good Morning You Sexy Ladies

Velveteen ~ Good Morning sweetie! Hope the ride is a good one.

    Geskter
~ Do you think if you had a sit down with your BF and explained what your trying to do and how IMPORTANT this is to you, that he would understand and try to be more supportive and perhaps join ya?

Sandye ~ Love the duck, but more importantly...the picture. You are talented girlfriend. It's been quite funky with the weather around here lately, raining and HOT. Or overcast and HOT. Or gloomy and HOT. It's summer for crying out loud, why can't it just be HOT?

    lookingtobehealthy
~ Yeah, TOM should be publicly stoned. Good luck with him and try to keep your chin up sweetie.

LE ~ Good for you. Oh that is my youngest son in one of those pictures. Do I think it's possible for you to see goal this month? I'm an optimist. So I would say yes anything is possible sweetie. If you don't hit it, the fact that you've come back with a vengeance is goal worthy in itself. I'm very proud of you.

Well, I had some wicked weight loss dreams ALL night. For some reason now this is starting to affect my dreams. I guess I'm so focused on it, rather obsessed, that now it's even taking over my subconscious. Oh well, I am down a pound this morning even with my swollen hands. WTF? How am I supposed to type with hands like the hulk? Dunno, but it's really really really getting on my nerves. It bothers me when I can't find a logically explanation for something. With aliens it's different, there need be no logic, but with my body, there has to be an answer and it's driving me batty.

So, I have to go out and stock up today as my grandparents are going on vacation, so I wont be able to get out of this house until they return. I'm not sure my fridge can hold four gallons of milk, but I'm gonna try. Should be a purty day around these parts today. I sure hope so. So that's pretty much about it. My "friend" is pressuring me about coming down in August and that's making me a little nervous. Hey, he is a stellar guy but he can say all he wants that he just wants to fly in for lunch, but I have a hard time swallowing that. We agreed a years ago, that this was a "friendship" nothing more, I just can't help but wonder if all the gifts etc, is some way of him wooing me and while he just looks supportive, blah blah blah. At any rate, I'm rambling and my treadmill is waiting. So I'll just check in later ladies.

You sexy mutha's have a grrrreat day, drink plenty of water and try to stay positive. Remember your thoughts and moods will dictate your day if you let them. I'll give ya all my patented fairy dust if you can come up with some happy thoughts..k? Have a good one ladies and remember to smile.
  • Quote: Jacque~ ooh, I never thought about measuring my neck! Great idea!
Isn't it the cutest little thing?
Yeah last month I remembered my neck but forgot my arms...darn it!!! This month I measured them but I would have liked to have had the measurements in May since everyone keeps saying "Look at your guns!!!"

Ducky is adorable!!!! Glad he is okay!!!

Thanks for the info. I will check it out now. And you say it is as accurate as the Sensewear? Not sure why I want/need one of those things but they are all so expensive. I have been using a pedometer but have been disappointed daily by it. I don't reach 10,000 steps!!! Don't know why with how active I have been. It's an ongoing goal for me. I have made it a few times, but not every day like I would like. And I have been tracking my calories with Lose It app, but would really like my body to tell me the truth!!!
