Hi guys. I am exhausted, I have not slept well the past few nights, I guess getting into routine again after the holidays is catching up. I worked out for 30 mins today which is good, I am aiming for 30 mins during the week and 1 hr on the weekend. I may do a mid week weigh in tomorrow, not sure. I think I am going to try to get some rest. I will try to catch up this weekend. Tomorrow my daughter has to cheer at a basketball game so it will be hectic hectic tomorrow evening.

Call us your second family :) I know what you mean about when there are clicks ...I too think that some do not even realize it.I am sitting here laughing about you saying you have to carry all the TOM paraphernalia where ever you go....It just got my giggle bug going... lol Hang in there we are here for ya~ Back at it - I hope your back feels better. Hey everone! It's so great to see the activity on here. Today has been good. I was OP yesterday except for I did snag a couple chocolate covered almonds from the kids. Once again I skipped my formal exercise, but I shoveled and scraped ice off my driveway for a hour which REALLY should count as a workout!!!
Christian- Thanks for you wonderful encouragement and yeah on getting high speed! FullSteam- I am also cleaning out closets today, but it's because we're trying to seel the house, not to redecorate. In a sick way, I kinda enjoy it! I don't like clutter. Sass- I'm with you...these shorter challenges are right up my alley. I need to feel like there's somehting to shoot for in the short term. Jay- TOPS is Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, a weight loss group similar to WW sort of. They do a weekly meeting and weigh-in, but I think they're non-profit...so no products really. Neast-Sounds like a busy time, so good for you for staying on track with things! It stinks not getting good sleep. Hopefully things will settle into a better routine soon and you can get the rest you need. Until then, enjoy seeing you daughter cheer and take one day at a time. Today is a tough day for me....I feel blah...and I was talking to a co-worker and she said do you take vitamins...I was like oh gosh no. She said you might want to take like a daily...so that you can give something back to your body. You are working out, and eating less. She gave me some 1 a days that she has from the health food store. She said she is going to buy more for her self. I was like wow thank you~ So I just took them ......ok so now I want to feel like popeye atfer he has his spinach..hahahahahhahaha :rofl: I am going to push myself to work out today....I feel draggy..:halffull:..help I need a boost...heheheh... How is everyone doing??? |

LOL.....thank you guys.... I did pick myself up...I took some vitamins...that helped and I worked out for 30 minutes on the tread mill and did 5 minutes on the arms....thank you thank you...see this is why I am so happy with my family we are here to help each other out......

Hi Girls! I did read everyone's posts but I'm sorry I don't have time for personals tonight. I have gotten into the habit of staying up too late. I get up at 5:15 for work in the morning so I'm going to try to go to bed a little earlier then I had been. Plus I just read that people who are sleep deprived have a tendency to have weight issues.
Dh and I both got our exercise in for today. I did 42 min on the ellipitical and he did 32 on the stationary bike. I also did squats and Taebo kicks while making dinner. (that was a sight :D) Dh and I normally put all the food on the dinner table and everyone makes their own plates. We decided to portion out the food for the kids in the kitchen and then we take our plates and vitamins to the table. Everyone is allowed as many veggies as they want. We don't want anyone to leave the table hungry but we found we would just keep refilling our plates as long as there was food still on the table before. I guess we'll see if this helps. Hey Girls!! Sorry I have been MIA, I have been running CRAZY!! Last night the game didnt end until 8:30 and we didnt get home until 9, then baths, etc and it was 10 :30 before we fell asleep. I managed to get in 13 mins on a stationary bike and thats it. :( Oh well 13 is better than nothing. I FINALLY got some sleep Wed. night, but I cheated and took an OTC sleeping pill. I finally got the sleep I needed and felt great Thurs morning. I had been up and down the previous 2 nights.
BUT.............Big news is..I lost another 3.5 lbs for a total of 8.5 lbs!!!!!!! 1.5 lbs away from my valentines goal. TTYL!! Niki |

Ok, it's been a while since I've posted on this thread, but I thought I would give a little update. I've been really good about staying OP for the most part...the cup of whole wheat couscous last night may have been pushing it. :-) Maybe half a cup would have been better, but it was my only starch of the day, so I figure it was pretty good of me - right? I'm up a little early (dog getting sick woke me up) so I'm going to try for a full hour of wii fit before work. V-day challenge... SW: 200 CW: 194.6 (-5.4 whoohoo!) GW: 185 |

How are you ladies? It was great to read your posts, as always. I am ok here, hanging in there. Yesterday was an off day for me (i was down). I did some research on smoking cessation etc. and weight and basically was frustrated with a few things.......guess I am going to have my days. I needed to change my mindset fast or I would and will be in trouble, so I did a little more reading (positives) and did some rethinking regarding my plan of attack. I did start working out on the treadmill and I am doing very well with that, ty ty to all of you for the insipiration and for the thread, I love it! Apparently, I need to walk at least 40 min. a day just to keep my metabolism where it was before when I smoked. ok, so be it! I have been splitting up my workouts into sessions. I was keeping a close eye on the scale this past week ladies and it's frustrating me big time so I think I am going to have to put the scale away for a bit. I have also been keeping a diary and writing everything that passes my lips. I definitely can improve in the calorie sector and in that area so I will be working on that this week. Basically, I need to give myself some time and not get too obsesses with the numbers or scale right now (and improve where I can like the eating) or it may ultimately be my downfall........can't let that happen...so anyways, that's my plan girls , sorry to ramble like this. I think everyone is doing wonderful, let's keep on truckin : ) You know something? I am going to post this incase I lose my connection and I will be right back! lol :) |

Christian, hi there girl! :) ty again for that exercise thread, it has been a tremendous help. Oh, regarding the wii fit and walmart. Last weekend we went there and they were out, the guy said when it comes in they sell out within 2 hours! wow! The other store said they are out and wont have any for a few weeks, high demand for sure! Whoever invented that must be sitting real pretty right now! lol. I scraped and shoveled some ice yesterday too, only for a half and hour and boy is that a workout alright! You burn a lot of cals doing that. I am sorry that I have been missing the last two days, just super, super busy running around. Sounds like there have been some really big losses!!! Way to go Niki and Bexx!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Fullsteam~ We all have our days when this seems virtually impossible. You are facing two really big challenges and have to know that there will be good days and bad. The best is that you are getting in your exercise, doing your journal, and coming here for support and encouragement!! We are here for you and you are doing great!!! :cheer2: Jaya~Awesome job on the vitamins. I read another thing today that says we are supposed to get 400 IU of Vitamin D everyday, especially if we are exercising. That is like a half-gallon of milk so I am trying to be really faithful to my multi-vitamin as one of my New Year's resolutions. (OK, maybe that is my only resolution! :D ) I got in a short workout last night but then really blew things up today by skiing for 4+ hours. There was virtually no one on the mountain so it was ski down, jump on lift, ski down, jump on lift, ski down,..... My legs were burning rocks by the end and I am planning on going back for more tomorrow! :dizzy: I probably won't be able to walk by this time Saturday. Family is home so I've got to run! Happy to report a 2# loss this week so staying OP works! :hug: to all!!! |

Well today I am doing oky doke....I didnt get to the treadmill today because I have so much work. That means that I am going to work out tomorrow after I clean. You would all hit me on the head :rollpin: because I have 5 exercise machines at home. The ab lounge, a trampoline, health rider, some kind or ab chair, and a treadmill. Ya, so there is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO reason why I cant get my butt on one of them this weekend...hahahahha |
Hey ladies. Today was busy, so I didn't get on 'til now, but good news! I lost 1.4# today...finally a break in my weight. I'd been at a bit of a standstill for a few days. AND I finally worked out today!! I got back to 30 day shred. I don't know why, but today just clicked for me and I feel like I'm getting back to pre-Christmas form. I am still 7.6 from my V-day goal, but I am confident that I can get there.

OK, just warning you all from the start that this is a bit of a rant. :tantrum:
I am just super hugely annoyed at the :devil: scale today. (Aside: Why don't we have a bad scale smilie?) Anyway, so I usually have my official weigh in on Friday and post the news that day but weigh myself everyday just to keep on track. So, this week I weighed on Wednesday and was down 2 pounds and then didn't have time to weigh on Thursday or Friday so I used Wednesday's weight. OK, following me here??? SOOOO, today I get on the scale and it is UUUUUPPPPP 2.5 pounds!!!!! What the heck????? :?: I don't lose 2.5 pounds in 2 days. How am I gaining it in 2 days??? And, I have been exercising and eating OP! :mad: So, I am going to up my water over the weekend and be really strict on the food but I am just sooooo annoyed. It doesn't help that I was at 160 on Wednesday and was poised to get into the 150's for the first time in at least a decade so I was really, really psyched! OK, that's it. Just a rant to start the morning. And no, I am not changing the stupid *&%$#** ticker!!! |
urockmom- Ok, so I know how you feel, happens to me all the time, and usually it can be blamed just on simply being a woman :eek: Our weight can fluctuate up to 2 pounds or more just depending on the time of month...is it close for you?? If not it can be as simple as your muscles retaining water from exercising and that has happened to me too, when I was at Curves, never the less, it isnt real weight and it will be gone probably by morning or before, hang in there sis :hug:

I think it may have held me in place weight-wise, though. At least I feel motivated to be active again. The lack of motivation was the really frustrating thing about this past week. Just wanted to report I'm now only 6.2# from my V-day goal. I kinda had to force myself onto the elliptical last night, but at least I finally DID IT! These are the little victories that raise my confidence to keep going and believe this is forever.

I had 2 busy days on Fri and Sat so I need to do a couple of extra long workouts this week. Ms Perception~ you are doing great, I'm sure you'll hit your goal Hattie~ I'm sorry the scale is stuck. I have no doubt that one day soon it will start moving again. I hope the same is true for me. My body seems to like 153 (my mind thinks my body is just stupid for liking that number so much) :D Keeper~ great job on the loss! I updated my ticker this morning and it says my v'day goal is 33% complete! It is freezing outside this morning so I think I'll do a dvd. I also saw a new one that I want to get by Denise Austin. I'll probaby go get it today.

I did some "overeating" last night. I didn't eat unhealthy foods, just ate when I wasn't hungry because I was frustrated. I know, I know...so dumb!!! I did exercise right afterwards, but the idea is to NOT turn to food. I didn't even think I was much of an "emotional eater", but I guess I need to watch out for that. Hey all!
Hope it's not too late to joing your challange! I am looking to drop 10 pounds...and hopefully 7 of those by Feb 14th. Truth be told I would be happy with 5 pounds down right now. All my cute clothes are feeling tight on me and I feel the padding...at 5 feet, 10 extra pounds is quite a bit....ugh. Though I'm pretty distraught that I allowed it to get this far....I'm not going to mope....back on the exercise wagon. Hoping to get to know all of you! |
