I did 45 mins on the wii fit today, and I tried to eat light all morning because I know I will be surrounded by food this evening. Happy New Year to all!!

back at it 12-31-2008 04:28 PM

I'm slacking today, just going to get on the bike for about 1/2 an hour and then had out to get munchies to put those cals back on! LOL! Movie night with my son and we "MUST HAVE JUNK FOOD MOM!!"So, today I will cave(although not go overboard) and tomorrow start the New Year off fresh!
Happy New Years Everyone!

urockmom 12-31-2008 04:38 PM

Hi chicksssssss!!! Here I am - the last of the old-timers!

I am sorry that I have been away. It has been so hectic over the holidays and I haven't gotten a spare minute to myself to check in with my friends here! to all of you and ty for all the good wishes!!!

:welcome3: (New Year's Version) to everyone that is new!!! I look forward to getting to know you all!

:grouphug: to all of my old friends from the previous challenges!!!

Christian~I am so sorry that I missed your birthday!!! I did find this :gift: :coolsnow: for you outside my window!! But it is too :brr: to go out there to get it for you!! Sounds like you are doing great on the wii fit!!! Awesome job!

Hattie~You are currently my inspiration as you lost so much weight over the Christmas challenge and I managed to turn it from challenge to maintenance. I am sure that you'll keep on track here!!

Fullsteam~So, so sorry to hear the news about the fur ball. I hope that you have many more good days than bad. No, I have not forgotten about our walk on the :beach:; I just can't imagine it!!! The next beach I see will be the end of Feb for winter vacation so I am looking forward to being in better swimsuit shape by then!!!

Lene, luckymom, Sass, and everyone else~It sounds like you guys are all of to a fast and fabulous start to the New Year and a New You!!! I am hoping to be able to keep up!!!

So, as for me, our holiday season extends through tomorrow when we have a big party with about 60 people coming over. I have spent all day yesterday shopping, all day today cooking & cleaning, so no real exercise per say. Just hanging in and on!!!

As for the challenge, having set them and not reached them, I have decided not to jinx it by "saying" out loud what my goal is. I am going to just really try to keep working on my long-term goal and if I make it to my mental challenge by V-Day, I'll be letting you know!!!

Happy Happy Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Luckymomof2 12-31-2008 05:28 PM

Hi all!
Sounds like everyone is doing good so far!
I'm doding ok, not bad, but could be better. I'm doing so-so with the eating and have been doing ok with the exercise.
Time for me to kick it up a notch!

I'm having a little problem with Hubby.
Last night he said.
" You butt is smaller....I dont think I like it"
DH loves the thick women. He says he doesnt think thin women are attractive at all.
Of course I want my hubby to think I look good so I am struggling with deciding what weight I should get to. I'm 5'1 135 so I'm curvy... wouldnt say fat. So I dunno. He says dont lose 1 more lb. I wanted to get to 110. Maybe I'll lose the 10 lbs for this challenge that would put me at 125.... maybe that would be good enough.
What do you ladies think?

Anyway sorry about going on and on.
I hope you all have a successful day!

Christian 12-31-2008 05:42 PM

Jaya- Enjoy the gym...wish I was there with ya :D

Neast- 45 minutes?? You go girl! and I am with you...tommorow is a new day and I will be on track for sure...

back at it- My kids want junk here too  I have to go out and get them some chips or something...oh well I love em and they wont be eating alot of junk in a day or 2 as fruit and veggies with lowfat dip will be made up in the fridge for them when they get munchy ;)

urockmom- HI!!!! I missed you girl!!!!! I am with you on setting a # almost, I think I am actually going to cut mine down some and just try for 4 myself, I have to have more for the next challenges right???

Shy- Well if hubby likes you where you are...I would stay there ;) I mean it is all about being healthy and looking good for the man right?? If you want to just shoot for 5 pounds and then see if you want to go to 10, just be sure not to tell him about losing anymore  He will get on to you ;)

SBD Sass 12-31-2008 05:48 PM

I'm going through the SAME thing. They just don't know any better yet. Once we drop all the weight we want to lose and start toning up, they will start to LOVE it! When the boyfriend starts up I just recall his Hollywood chicks name (in his mind) - KIM KARDASHIAN! And then he shuts up. How is it he loves her and likes me with all the weight???? I don't get it either, but I think it's because they don't understand. :D

JAYAGODDESS 12-31-2008 09:23 PM

Well I did do at least 20 minutes and then a cool down today...it is a start :)
I hope everyone had a great day today....and have a SAFE and Happy New Year ~

Cheers~

keeperofthehome4 01-01-2009 09:43 AM

Hey everyone I'm still here. Been so busy this week. I did Tae Bo this week oh man it kicked my butt lol. I'm gonna do some Yoga in a lil bit to help destress.
I can't wait till tax time so close now lol. My hubby said will get a Wii and a Wii Fit then wooohoooooooo!!!!!! Hope everyone is having a great New Year.

Bikini Ready 01-01-2009 11:23 AM

So I had been super on track for a while and last night I planned on having a solid dinner and going out and limiting my self to 2 beers. Well I had my dinner and went out and had 2 beers, then 2 more and a bunch of ice cream... I'm kind of bummed I did that but it was delicious and if I get right back on track now I will be fine. I know today will be tough for me because when I slip up I tend to turn it into a few days of eating crap, not going to do that this time though!

Happy New Year!

lene1974 01-01-2009 11:32 AM

I had a rough week. I still plan on getting all my exercise in for this week. We were out of town visiting relatives Sun and Mon. On Tues I found out my grandmother passed away. Her viewing and funeral are tomorrow AM. I also have a yucky head cold. Not enough to stop me from exercising but feeling really blechy. I also did some emotional eating this week and needed to up my start weight. Then I modified my V-day goal to 145 to be more realistic.

:welcome:Welcome to all the new faces!!!!! It's great to see so many people wanting to make some healthy changes in their life.

Let me get thru tomorrow and then I'll get to read through the board more closely and get to know some of you.

Oh Lene..

I am so sorry about your grandmother! I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please know that we are here for you.

Bikini Ready: Done is done! Today is here for you to begin again! You can do it! What you did in the past is just that THE PAST. Today, being New Years Day, is the perfect day for new beginnings. I know you won't fall into that...well I already messed up...thinking. Now it is ...well I have a new day, a new year, a new life! GO FOR IT!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Neast 01-01-2009 12:44 PM

:newyear: everyone!! Last night was terrible , I ate like I had never seen food before in my life, and all it did was make me feel awful. I had a stomache ache and had to leave early. But I got up and did 30 mins on the wii fit and it told me I had only gained .2 lbs. I will do the official weigh in on Sundays to see how much I have lost for the week.
I also decided to do the race for the cure along with a friend of mine who is a breast cancer survivor!! It is march 7, so I have to get in shape for that. It will be such an honor to be able to walk with her.
I will try to get in more time on the wii fit today, I have the Jillian Michaels game, didnt really like it, but may pull it out and try again.

Keeper-You will love the wii fit. Its so much fun you dont even feel like you are exercising. You can also enter in other activities you do during the day.

Have a great day!!
Niki

JAYAGODDESS 01-01-2009 05:21 PM

:newyear: I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Day ~ I am sitting here trying to decide if I want to go outside and walk up the hill. We live in the hills and at the same time we do have a treadmill but the scenery is a lot prettier outside :) I will let you know what I decided when I log on again today....stay warm with EXERCISE :carrot:

back at it 01-01-2009 05:38 PM

Gym is a no go today, the roads are just to slippy to try and venture out. Instead I'll be packing up the Xmas tree and dragging out the stationary bike to the LR so I can watch some TV while I'm on it.
As for eating, I'm right on plan, thats if I actually had a plan! LOL! Just eating less than I usually do.And trying to stay away from the junk food, and not eating after 7PM! LOL!

Christian 01-01-2009 09:48 PM

lene- I am sorry to hear about your grandma sis..I will be praying for you and your family during this time  Also I hope your head cold goes away ;)

Melissa- I hope today was a great day for you...I agree with the other ladies...today is a new day :D

Niki- I think it is awsome that you will be going on the breast cancer race, I know that will be great motivation to reach your fitness goals

Jaya- Did you do the treadmill or the hill today ...I am with you, I love being outside when I can too ;)

Wendy- I too tyr not to eat late at night, I really think it helps me too.

Well today was a success and I did 45 minutes on the wii fit so I am almost gettin in my hour a day...maybe we should do an exercise thread for this challenge too...one that has our target minutes for the month and everyday we have to come and report in...let me know what you think, I used to be on one in the South Beach diet section and it really was motivating.....

Bikini Ready 01-01-2009 11:01 PM

Thank you all for the words of encouragement!

Today ended up going very well yay! Got a good walk in and ate clean. Day two of getting back on track is always easier so I'm looking forward to another successful day tomorrow!

FullSteamAhead 01-02-2009 10:13 AM

Morning ladies, I snuck in for a quick hello before heading out. Wanted to wish everyone a Happy new year.

Lene, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that you are feeling better too.......as the girls said, we are here for you.

Christian, regarding the wiifit your response pretty much confirms it! Dh is looking into it, glad he knows what he is doing! I guess we need the console thingy first and then the wii fit. Thanks for your help

All is well here, working on my resolutions and all of them boil down to a healthier me! ok ladies, its freezing in this room.....so cold here the past few days. I hope you all have a great day, talk soon.

Hattie22 01-02-2009 11:17 AM

I just want to say... Thank God for you ladies!

In some other threads there is drama between chicks...not this one!! This feels like home. I know I can always count on getting support and great feedback from you.

Christie: I think the exercise thread would be a good idea. Working the heart for Valentines day would be great! Would we choose how many minutes a day our goal should be and then log in to see if we met them? Or should we choose how many minutes in total for the whole challenge and see how many we can get accomplished. I did another challenge around Thanksgiving that had a certain amount of miles to meet.. 30 minutes of exercise = 1 mile...For thanksgiving it was a virtual Plymouth Plantation and it took 500 miles to get there. It was fun.

What does everyone think?

Thanks again for being COOL Chicks!

SBD Sass 01-02-2009 11:43 AM

Ally - Tae Bo kills!!!! I tried it once and that was my last time. Ha! After I build up my core I'll try again. Billy makes you sink so low. Ouch!

Chris - still debating on whether or not the Wii is a good investment. Bleh!

Jay - go with the tread! It's cold outside!

As for me...spent the morning in the ER...migraine...HBP is back! 173/121 I almost died from the shock of hearing those numbers. Maybe TOM brought it up I don't know but I'm going to the doctor to get on a low impact type of pressure pill just in case. I'm so unhappy about this.

In good news, my V-Day Challenge ticker is moving in the RIGHT direction!!!

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Ms Perception 01-02-2009 12:12 PM

Hey everyone! I have been MIA these past couple weeks, but will be back in action in a couple days. I just wanted to post and say I am in for this challenge. Sounds like the new year has brought some people rough news/health...my prayers are with you all. I miss you guys and look forward to getting back to OP a little better once I get home from all these festivities!

JAYAGODDESS 01-02-2009 01:25 PM

Hi All,

Well I went with the hill....but....it was tooooooo cold. So, I came back inside...and that was the end of my exercise..I had a awesome dinner, and ate it really slow. I know it was probably a little on the fattening side. We had steak, mash potatoes, salad, and Brussels sprouts .... it was delish... Anyhow that was new years dinner to kick off a tasty meal.. :)

I am at work right now and it is like a ghost town in here because everyone is at home I am sure. After work I am going to the store to pick up the foods I will need for the week. Yes they are going to be healthy foods. My biggest challenge is that I love SODA .... and I need to drink more water...so I will be coming on here to get all the help I need in that area...hehehe .....

I will log on a little later to see how everyone is doing....

Bye for now
Cheer~

Christian 01-02-2009 01:38 PM

Ok ladies! I posted an exercise challenge thread too, so lets just keep up the great work ladies...we have Hattie to thank for the name of it...she is such a sugar :D
I will be back in a little while for personals

urockmom 01-02-2009 03:01 PM

Hey everyone!

Christian~The exercise challenge sounds like a good idea. I'll go check it out after this.

Lene~I am so, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you  now and we look forward to having you back with us soon.

Sass~Sorry to hear about the BP. I hope that the medicine gets you straightened out right away. They didn't restrict your exercise did they? That would kill me.

I survived my party and I guess ate on plan since I hardly ate anything all day as was to busy running around for everyone else. So far today, I am eating all leftovers-which are not good for me-but maybe it will all work out even in the end. :D I totally forgot to weigh myself this morning because I forgot it was Friday. Maybe I'll jump on with Christie and do it on the 3rd. We plan to go skiing tomorrow so that will be my exercise. Today I am having back spasms so I am taking it easy.

Everyone sounds like they are really :carrot: and motivated for the New Year and for Valentine's Day so :twirly: for us!!!

JAYAGODDESS 01-02-2009 05:03 PM

I joined the exercise challenge ... I think it will be a great way to track as to where we are, and where we need to be everyday... :) Keep our routines up and never look back. If you slip up, it only means we are human and we keep moving forward..:grouphug:

Cheers~

Jaya~good luck with not drinking the soda and getting more water in, water is hard for me too

Christie~ I love the exercise challenge! I think it's a great idea to keep us motivated and shake it up a little. You and I are at the same starting point and I would love for both of us to hit our goal. We can do this!

Ms. perception~ hi girlfriend, looking forward to seeing your posts when life settles down for you

Hattie~Your enthusiasm for exercise is contagious. I'm so pumped and excited to lose weight again. I had really become complacent with where I was at before and when I stopped the exercise my body started going right down hill again. I'm going to try and keep up with you lady. :D

Sass~ poor sass, I'm sorry about your migraine and bp. Please take care of yourself.

Fullsteam~ Hi Lady and Happy new year to you! Good luck with your resolutions. I think you should invest in thermal socks and underwear so you won't freeze while on the computer. We need you to much to have the cold keep you away.

Bikini~ sounds like you are moving in the right direction. Good luck!

Back at it~ eating right is 1/2 the battle

Niki~ doing the Race for the Cure in March will keep you on track. I did a Lupus run for my Mom last year and knowing I had to train for it really kept me focused.

I lost 3lbs this week and did a pretty decent job with drinking my water. I'm looking forward to next week and another loss.

I am off to hit the exercise thread and report in, I am glad to see everyone like it, I think it is just what we needed to keep on track...have a great day everyone

Bikini Ready 01-03-2009 01:20 PM

So this morning my weight was up a little because I had a late dinner last night. It was healthy and delicious (salmon, salad and lentils) so that's why I'm not too concerned about the scale weight. I weigh on Saturdays and Wednesdays so I'll just be good till Wednesday just in case (still need to make up for that beer and ice cream).

I too joined the exercise thread, that will be very helpful for me, thanks!

Hope everyone has a great day!

keeperofthehome4 01-03-2009 03:26 PM

WEll I got on the scale today and I'm down 5.2lbs:carrot::carrot:

Neast 01-03-2009 08:59 PM

Hi All!! Hope you are having a great weekend. Today my sister and I went shopping and then we went to eat at Oliva Garden. I had the 5 cheese ziti with whole wheat pasta. I only ate half, and only ate 1 breadstick (my weakness) I brought the other half home and another breadstick and had that for supper. I also did 1 hr on the wii fit.

It has been a week since I started exercising and I can tell a diference already. I am sleeping better at night and I actually am making myself exercise. If I want to watch tv I just walk in place for the free run on the fit, or do free step. I will weigh in tomorrow morning, hopefully with a good loss

Niki

HealthyandVibrant 01-03-2009 09:26 PM

Hi,
Another newbie here, but would love to join the challenge. I would like to loose 12 lbs. by valentines day. I will weigh in at work monday and post it then. We have a 6 week challenge starting, so I'm going to take advantage of support wherever I can get it. You all seem so helpful here on this thread.
Thanks,
Linda

JAYAGODDESS 01-03-2009 10:18 PM

Bikini Ready - Samon is my favorite.... :) dont be down on yourself you are only human and
you can just make up for it during the week.

keeperofthehome4 - That is awesome that you are down 5.2 pounds...keep up the great work!!

Christian - thank you for the support yes it is going to be hard, because I have given up
fast food. I didnt realize how much I even ate it...until we went out today to go to the store,
and what we used to do was stop and get something from the drive through. This time we
(my daughter skipped the drive through) and went to target. When we came home we made
veggie soup and toast for dinner, on very healthy bread I might add... hehehe

Neast - that is awesome that you can tell a difference...that is the best part....great job~

HealthyandVibrant - :welcome2: everyone here has been so awesome and supportive... :)

Ok I am going to shower all with :dust: hehehe...

Bye for now ...

Thighs Be Gone 01-03-2009 10:26 PM

Hey 3FC Sisters. Am I too late to join the challenge? If not, someone tell me what I need to do to get going. Thx in advance.

Wife2jason 01-03-2009 11:32 PM

I would like to join this challenge. I would like to loose 8-10 lbs by Valentines day. Scary goal, but I hope I can do it!!!

JAYAGODDESS 01-04-2009 02:54 AM

Thighs Be Gone and Wife2jason :welcome2:

The people on here are really sweet and very supportive, so glad that you can join us ...... ;)

Hattie22 01-04-2009 08:02 AM

Good Morning!

First:
:welcome3:Healthyandvibrant! That is awesome that you have a challenge at work also!!

:welcome3:Wife2Jason! You CAN do it!!!

:welcome3:Thighs be gone! It is never too late! Just post your goal for Valentines Day and let us know how you are doing :smug: There is also an exercise thread that some of us are doing called "work your heart for valentines day".

Keeperofthehome: Awesome job!!! 5 lbs!! Way to go!:cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer:

Niki: I hope the scale is good to you because you deserve it!! Wii fit is awesome, isn't it? I was thrilled last night because I could get up off the couch without using my hands to push me up. LOL Exercise really does help!!!

Christie: Congrats on losing a pound!!!!:cheer2: Are you doing that Michael Thurmond plan? You did an awesome job with that! I know you will do awesome no matter what plan you are doing! Keep it up!!! Did you get to the boxing yet on wii fit? What is your 6 week body makeover plan?

Lene: Congrats on losing 3 lbs!:cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: I am so glad you have a wonderful, supportive husband to lean on! Sometimes that is what gets us through. How is he doing on his plan? I love that you included him on this challenge. My husband is skinny and is losing a little weight because he is eating what I eat. He just doesn't want to trouble me to have to cook something else and he doesn't like to cook so...most of the time he eats the same.

urockmom: How was that skiing? You have to post that on the exercise thread. Oh...How is your back? UGGHHH...SPASMS!

luckymom: How are you doing?

Fullsteam: You go girl!!!

A Big HI to everyone else... Talk to you soon.. Gotta go and feed my doggies...

Neast 01-04-2009 10:09 AM

Good Morning All!! I am just here to post my loss of 5 lbs!! I was so excited I had to share. But I need to go get my daughter from her grandmas, Ill be back later!!:D

ButterflyDiva 01-04-2009 01:00 PM

Been away from the board for the past week, but I have been very good with sticking to my weight loss. This week I lost 2 lbs. Which is kind of amazing since I didn't get in all the exercising I wanted to do. But I did eat less so it worked out in the end.

starting challenge weight 132
current challenge weight 130
goal challenge weight 122
