Feel free and welcome here, we want to continue to lose weight or even stay the same this Holiday season and we can and will do this together ;)

My goal is to lose 5 more pounds before Christmas but I will be thrilled to stay the same as I usually gain this time of year  What is your goal??

kelsicc 11-25-2008 10:50 PM

HI im new, would you accept me?
I would like to joing you! how are you! my goal its to lose at least 10 to 15 lb before new year 2009**

:welcome: kelsicc! Of course we will welcome you ;) 10-15 pounds huh?? You go girl :cheer:

JamieJo 11-26-2008 09:38 AM

I'm going on a trip on Jan 17 and darn it...I want to be 140 for that trip!!! I'm S T I LL 160ish so doesn't look like that is going to happen... :( POOEY!

So my goal now is to just keep up with working out and hopefully see 149. :)

Idealperson 11-26-2008 10:46 AM

I need you guys, can I join too? I have been at a stand still lately-bouncing the same 2# around...I want to lose another 10 to get to my goal and Christmas is a very hard time for me. I love to cook, eat, collect recipes, etc... My goal is only to lose 2# during the holidays, my nightmare would be to say the h#ll with it and go all out! Don't let me do that-I need accountability. Thanks!

SBD Sass 11-26-2008 10:58 AM

Thanks Christian!!!

Bring it on! I hope there will be no more crying in the coming weeks for me!!!! I am totally psyched!!!! :carrot:

OK so I'm uppin' the ante...I'm going to try really hard to drop 10lbs by Christmas!!!! I only need to lose 5 more to my overall goal, but I can throw my mini-goal of 5 in there to make it 10.

 to everybody who kept up with the Thanksgiving Challenge -those who met their goals and to those of you who didn't. Let's do it again!!!

Welcome kelsicc! We have a great group here. Let's stay in touch.

JamieJo...every little bit helps! Cheering you on!!!!

Welcome Idealperson! If I can do it then you can too. Just keep trying and never give up. Do your best.

lene1974 11-27-2008 05:35 PM

Hi Ladies! I hope everyone had a wonderful day today!
Welcome Kelsic, Ideal and JamieJo!!!!:welcome3:
Ideal~ I'm the same way regarding baking and cooking. I'm not trying to diet but I don't want to gain either this time of year. I'll keep you in line. :coach:

Hattie, Sass and Christie~Hi Chicas!!!! Did everyone have a great Thanksgiving? My dinner turned out pretty good no major catastrophes.

Urock, Fullsteam and Shy~ Miss you girls, hope you are enjoying time with your families!
This very stressful last couple of weeks is over. wahoo! I ate way too much today. Saturday I'm back on a strict program and will lose whatever I might have gained this week. I don't have a goal for pounds but want to give myself an exercise/water challenge till Christmas.

64ozs+ of water
exercise 23 days

28 days till Christmas. Let's do it Girls!!

mountain mama 11-27-2008 09:22 PM

Hey all! My goal is to be securly 235 or under by christmas. I have been slacking lately.. letting stress and missing deployed DH get me down. But tomorrow's a new day and let the goal meeting begin!!

I don't think I know any of you on this thread, other than Jamiejo :)
Hi Jamie!
Hi all!

Hattie22 11-28-2008 06:31 PM

Hi everyone:wave:

Thanks Christian for starting this thread! I am sooo excited!

:welcome2: To: Idealperson, JamieJo, kelsicc, and fauxtini!!!

fauxtini: I know you from the other thread...I like doing both. You will absolutely love these chics on this thread! They are so supportive, loving, and talkative.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I filled up on turkey, plain sweet potatoes, turnips, greenbeans, and one heavenly pillsbury grand biscuit (not smothered in butter). When it came time for dessert, I was so full from the veggies that I couldn't even look at them. First time in I don't know how long that that happened! I had the day off of work today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I read a book that I have been trying to finish..."Pillars of the earth" by Ken Follett. Not done yet..but maybe tomorrow.

I lost another pound today, so my start for this challenge is 225. I hope to be at 217 for Christmas. Family that haven't seen me since I have lost weight really congratulated me yesterday. I like the compliments but it feels weird. I think it is because I know I am not where I finally want to be yet. So I always say thank you but I have a long way to go. Does anyone else do that?

urockmom: How did it go? Were you able to feed your own family after feeding 100? You must have been exhausted!

Fullsteam: Hi chic..

Lene: Keep your booty shaking in those size 8s...or is it size 6s now?
Luckymom: YOOHOO! Where are you?

Christmas Cheers to everyone! :xcheer:

urockmom 11-28-2008 06:43 PM

Hi Chics!!

Sorry I have been silent over the last few days! Many :turkey: duties to take care of! :D

I finished up my Thanksgiving Challenge at 12.5# lower than I started to I am very happy with that!!! Given that it is Christmas, I am going to set my Christmas Chics challenge at just 5#. That will be terrific for me since I haven't been below 160 in at least 10 years so I am psyched!

Hattie~That is so funny that you are working on that book. I loved it and am now working on following one, World Without End. They are great books but HUGE!!!

:welcome: to idealperson, fauxtini, JamieJo, and kelsicc and everyone else who wants to join in! We are a great group and I had an awesome time working to Thanksgiving with all of these gals!

Lene~I am always here if you PM me. I don't always have time to post but I check regularly. :) Hope the sweet potatoes went well!

We are having a movie marathon at my house now as we want to stay far away from the mall and the maddening crowds! to you all and have a super weekend!

Oh, and I did the 3FC Turkey Trot this morning and came in at 33:15, which is pretty good for a virgin :o so I am going to have some more turkey today. Didn't overdue yesterday since-as usual-I was too tired of the food before we sat down to the table!

kelsy123 11-28-2008 07:29 PM

hey i am new too! i would like to lose 15 lbs by the new year!

mountain mama 11-28-2008 08:28 PM

Hattie! Hi! Yes.. of course I know you from the other thread too.. I didn't notice your name the first time I posted! :)

urockmom: A movie marathon!! I love days like that. I can't wait till my hubby is back from deployment and we can get back into doing those cozy, fun things! What was your fave movie of the day?

I literally BINGED MY FACE OFF over these past few days. I have been staying at a friends for the past few days and I always get thrown out of routine. I need to master being able to work outside of my comfort and routine. 'Just DO IT' comes to mind as an answer, but it's harder to do than to say! hehe

Anyway.. i'm excited to get to know you all!

Hi Ladies!
Welcome Fauxtini and Kelsy!!

Fauxtini~ I'll stop binging if you do! Good luck with getting the lbs. off before your honey comes home. Just try to imagine his reaction when you greet him as the ultra confident and slender wife.

Kelsy~ good luck with your 15lbs. We'd love to hear more about you!

urock~ 33:15 for your turkey trot is wonderful. Is that 3.1 miles? I didn't even know you were doing the Trot. Great job!
sweet potatoes were fantastic, everyone loved them thanks again!

fullsteam~where are you lady? Don't be away too long.

Hattie~ you are doing so fantastic on these challenges, i bet you do look great. I'm not great at accepting compliments and feel a little uncomfortable myself, but it is nice to hear. I just smile and say thank you too.
"Pillars of the Earth" was a good book. I haven't started the sequel yet. I think you need to know you have the time when you start his books because they are so lengthy.

Christie~Hi chick! 4.5? It's water I'm sure of it. I'm not changing my ticker unless my lbs stay on for over 5 days, then I'll bite the bullet. The bio was a great idea!

Sass~ Hey, did you start your running program yet? Don't worry about those 2lbs. Could be too much salt, not enough water ect... It will be gone before you know it!

SO I jumped on the scale this morning and it said I gained 5lbs this week. There's no way that is even possible. I am in the middle of TOM and I know I gained some because of my bad eating, but 5lbs, no way! I will use it as my official start weight though since that's what the darn scale said.

Name- Lene
age- 33
weight- 155 (lies,lies I tell you)
status- married
kids- 3 kids, son 10, daughter 8, baby girl 20 months
pets- 1 Golden retriever, 1 cat
goals- for the challenge drink 64ozs water a day, exercise 23 days
highest weight- 186
job- part time cake decorator/full time Mom
location- Pennsylvania
favorite movie- Pride and Prejudice (watched it 27 times in the last year and know every word to every scene)
favorite bands or singer- Chris Daughtry, Fall out Boys, Billy Joel, Chris Brown, music from the 60's and 80's
last book read- Blindness

Got up and went running at 3:30AM. It was a great run and I didn't want it to end but I needed to get ready for work. I ran about 3.3 miles. I feel like going running again tonight too, but will wait for tomorrow AM. I'm going to do crunches and push-ups before bed. I ate a plate full of dessert for dinner. I need the stuff out of my house. TOM and sweets in the fridge is too dangerous.
exercise: 1/23
water: 1/28
start weight 155
size 8

mountain mama 11-29-2008 08:05 PM

Just wondering if I am the ONLY person who's fave movie isn't Pride and Prejudice? hehe I studied it in school though? Does that count for anything? hahaha

Also, Lene.. I will definitly hold you to no binging for us! hehe Wanna make a challenge out of it? Anyone want to?
See how many binge free days we can go??

:)

SBD Sass 11-30-2008 01:37 AM

I have the PnP book and I have all of the websites bookmarked for it. I am theming my wedding behind it (whenever I do get married) and I LOVE the movie. I tried to watch the one from the 70s and it doesn't do anything for me. I love the Mr. Darcy and Mrs. Bennett (mom) in the new PnP. I love the soundtrack and my favorite score is the Postcard to Mr. Purcell and the dance that goes with it (it was such a powerful scene in the movie). I have the DVD so on it tells you about the locations to where they filmed and I would love to go see one day.

Hattie22 11-30-2008 01:57 PM

Hi everyone:wave:

Happy Sunday!

I have never seen Pride and Prejudice. I guess I should get it.
I finished "Pillars of the Earth" It was really good!
urockmom: Is "World Without End" a sequel to this one?

Fullsteam: Where did you go? I miss you!

Maybe everyone is really busy with company...

Talk to you soon..

marybeth60 11-30-2008 03:21 PM

Hi,i want to join and lose 11 pounds by christmas. That will get me out of the 200's!
marybeth

:snow4:

lene1974 11-30-2008 04:35 PM

Hey faux~ I'm in for the challenge. I have made it through today so far without binging. I said to DH today that eating platefuls of dessert isn't what killed me this last week (not that it helped). It's the cravings for carbs the days that follow. And yes there is something wrong with you. Your favorite movie has to be PandP! :D

Marybeth ~:welcome3:Good luck with your 11lbs.

Hattie~ I know your name is Michelle but you have been Hattie to me for so long it doesn't feel natural. LOL I know this was directed to Urock but "World Without End" is different characters, but set in the same town and is a couple of centuries later.

I pm'd Fullsteam. She must be a busy lady. I miss her too.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

mountain mama 11-30-2008 05:01 PM

Lene and anyone else who may be interested in keeping track of staying on plan eating wise..

I made a POP (perfectly on plan) tally on my signiture... as you can see below in my rather large signiture.. lol Do it too if you are interested!

Yesterday was my first POP day! And so far.. today is nooo problemo!!

Christian 11-30-2008 07:03 PM

Hattie- Go out now and see that movie chic! You will LOVE it too and see why we are hooked on it for sure...romance at its best for sure ;)

Sass- Your wedding will be awsome...themed around PnP, what a dream!!

Lene- You rock girl! I knew we had alot in common  I am with you, I will wait 5 days to put my weight up, these pounds have just got to be bloat here too

Well all, today went POP and I am ready for this challenge, Hope you all have a great night! :grouphug:

That reminds me...what do you all do for exercise? DVD, belong to a health club/Y, or what? I am doing DVD's, but I think I need to consider adding other/different DVD's.
I was just curious. I know this is covered on other threads, but thought I'd ask on here.
Personally, I prefer strength-training to aerobic things, 'cuz I have limited coordination at times!
Jess

Ms Perception 11-30-2008 09:25 PM

Which one? The one with Keira Knightley? Or the BBC one with Colon Firth? Just curious...I actually like them both.

mountain mama 11-30-2008 09:32 PM

im watching the kiera nightly one at the moment. I think that's the one everyone is talking about on here :) SO far so good! lol

As for exercise... i do a little of everything..
some dvds i suggest are biggest loser cardio max , the biggest loser scult dvd, walk away the pounds 4 fast miles and 1 mile jog.

I have don ethe couch to 5k program (google it!) f you are up for jogging or learning to. I could never job for more than a minute till i started this prgram.

When i watch tv I roate between lots of different lunges, squats, push ups, sit ups, random arm weight techniques i've learned from biggest loser dvds and friends.

I dont know if that's much help.. that's more or less what im doing.

I like to mix it up so i dont get bored. oh yeah! i love the eliptical at the gym and the resistance machines!!

Ms Perception 11-30-2008 09:50 PM

That all sounds great...thanks for the suggestions, too. Being up north here, I tend to drop walking/jogging in the winter. I wish I could keep it up, but at least I'm doing something!

Ms Perception 11-30-2008 10:07 PM

The Walk Away the pounds....I can't figure out which one you mean. Is it the Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles or the WATP express 4 Miles? I didn't realize this was a walk-in-place thing. My MIL has one of those videos. I should check hers out, too. Thanks again for the info!

SBD Sass 11-30-2008 10:14 PM

Christian - my future dress...if I can be able to pay for it.

http://www.lazarobridal.com/laz_b/images_lg/LZ3815.jpg

Does this dress scream PnP or what??? It was put out by Lazaro in Spring 2008 so it's a newbie but oldie type. I love it.

Faux - so how did you like the movie?

Welcome to all the new comers! These challenges are so much fun!

mountain mama 11-30-2008 11:53 PM

Hey all you PnP lovers! I just finished watching it. I REALLY liked it :) I expected it to be 'another one of those victorian era movies' but it was really good! i was so caught up in Lizzy and darcy's relationship.. and Darcy was sooo attractive to me to boot! hehe

princess2323 12-01-2008 12:55 AM

sbdsash----i'm so jealous!!! that dress is absolutely amazing---

fauxtini- I knew you would LOVE the movie, now arent you glad you found all of us PnP fans here ;) And yes...Darcy was a hottie

Sass- WOW what a dress!!! I LOVE IT! Girl that is a PnP dress if I ever saw one, and you are going to be a BEAUTIFUL bride in it

Well today is starting off with a bang, I am up in my weight still but went ahead and posted it, I cant believe I gained so much in just 4 days, oh well I will just have to stay on track now and get it back off and maybe 2 more if I am lucky ;) I want to be 149 by Christmas and it is doable

SBD Sass 12-01-2008 09:18 AM

That guy who played Mr. Wickham (who also dated Keira in real life for a little while) looks just like Orlando Bloom. When I first saw the movie I thought it was Orlando at first.

mountain mama 12-01-2008 10:07 AM

Wicken did look really familiar.. i couldn't place it thought.. maybe that was why! he looked like orlando :)

Sass: That dress is very pretty! Very classic and nice lines! are you planning a weddinggetting married? If so.. I am too! I'm married on paper but i'mnot having the ceremony until my DH gets back from being deployed. Would love someone to plan with! hehe

Ms Perception 12-01-2008 12:05 PM

Thanks for the welcome, Christian! I weighed this morning and to my delight I basically maintained weight during Thanksgiving! That makes me very happy since we did 2 big days (Thurs & Sat) and I ate what I wanted without stuffing myself. YEAH! YIPPEE! Now I have to get back to exercise and working more veggies into my diet. I am competing with my mom to lose the most weight by Christmas! LOL
Jess

Luckymomof2 12-01-2008 12:58 PM

Hi ladies!!!!

I'm so sorry I skipped out during the last part of the Thanksgiving challenge. It started with allowing myself a free pass to eat whatever I wanted for one day. I should have listened when different people told me not to do that becasue it can send you on a bad spiral down.
I started totally getting back into my old ways of mindless eating. It's like I ate more than normal because I'd missed all the junk I didnt eat when I was losing the weight.
I'm so mad at myself. I dont know how much weight I've gained back. I'm REALLY scared to step on that scale. I'm sure its a lot though. I really pigged out.
After screwing up so badly I was just too embarrassed I guess to come back... knowing all of you ladies were strong enough to keep with it and I didnt want to come here on Thanksgiving having failed the challenge so badly.

Today is really the first day of not eating whatever I want.... I had a huge burger and fries last night for dinner.
I did a little on the elliptical this morning.
I know I probably seem like such a flake... but I'd really like to join this challenge with you ladies if you'll have me.
I really loved having u all around to talk to in the last challenge.

So did everyone reach that Thanksgiving goal????

I dont know what to set for my Christmas goal.I guess to set a goal you need to know a start weight and I really dont wanna see what I weigh.

I see there are new ladies that wernt in the Thanksfiving challenge. That is awsome!!!

I feel like there is so much I need to catch up on with you all.
