I have been hearing a lot about that wii fit too and I am interested in it, it looks really neat. I looked into a bit online and it looks like a lot of fun. I had read the wii fit challenge threads a while back and everyone was raving about it and such. Hi luckymom, I so hope your feeling better. Yup, regarding TOM, it's never fun for me as I can get pretty sick. I was laid up yesterday but once that second day passes I'm pretty good thereafter. I need to get out today and go to the market. Hi CHristian : ), how are you doing girl? my news, yesterday day was good OP but had a heavy dinner which was not OP and not enough water. Today is a new day and I am still striving to get things just where I want them to be! Going to the market for petes sakes, lol, will help as I am missing my ingredients. There is no bread or junk in the house which makes it much easier but nothaving enough in the house (like stuff for healthy planned meals) is not good either. It can prompt one to get takeout :D I have no excuses though, I did and do still have that cambells soup on hand for such times :lol: I decided I am going to weigh in on wednesdays this month which will bring me right to wed. on Christmas eve. I sneak a peek at the scale today (with tom and all) and am the same so I must work harder to get rid of those extra 2 lbs. and then some! Wish me luck on next wednesday girls. I am going to need to carefully plan my meals over the weekend and be OP in order to accomplish my first mini goal by n ext wed. On the agenda today is to drink my waterrrrrrrrr, hopefully get rid of some fluids and this bloated feeling. Now that I feel better today, it's high time I go to the market. My calves hurt so bad. Two night ago I did lower body and I worked on my calves and my hammies...for the first time and WOWERS!!! Today, I am in pain. I'm glad...that means my muscles are healing!!! Woot!

Since I'm not going a weight goal with you ladies for this challenge I decided to set a daily goal for myself. Today my goal is to drink lots of water and to do 20 minutes on the elliptical. |

Wow! I have missed everybody and feel like I missed much and much to fill in. First, :congrat: to lene & fauxtini & MsPerception & Hattie & anyone else that had a loss this week and I missed it! It sounds like everyone is doing great. Luckymom~No excuses! Just get on that elliptical and go! I am doing the 50 miles in December challenge to try and keep me on track this month. Care to join me? SBD~Ugh! I know just how you feel. I mean you know it means your muscles are growing but :yikes: it really hurts. I just reach for the Advil! Faux~Great job on the tree! I was a Navy wife myself so I know it is hard to get into the spirit with him gone but you are doing great! Fullsteam~I know you'll make good choices at the grocery store which will lead to good choices all weekend which will lead to.....:goodscale: Christian~Parties are always really hard and part of why we are doing this challenge is so when we encounter these obstacles they stay within that one day and don't start spreading into a week, or a month, or a year! :) You are doing great to get back on track today. As I said when we started last week, I was up 2# from Thanksgiving but am :dance: around the :goodscale: (as opposed to the Christmas tree) today because I lost those 2 plus 2 more so I am back on track to make it to goal by Christmas! :woohoo: I also have to report a big NSV from last night. I actually went to a store and tried on clothes for the first time since I joined 3FC and I am down 2 sizes!!! I think I can start to wear some of the smaller clothes that I had pushed to the nether regions of my closet. LOL! Plus, I saw a friend of mine this morning that I hadn't seen in a few weeks and she said, "Wow! You look great! Is your hair shorter?" Well, it took me a bit to make sense of this since I haven't gotten my hair cut in 3 months but I realized that she couldn't figure out what the difference was and thought it was my hair! Um, no, I have lost almost 20 pounds. It's not my hair!!! :D So, I am having a happy day in my Christmas Challenge. Am going to get ready to go to the gym this evening as it is the only time that I have today. Hope all of you lovely ladies are doing great! Here's some more :dust: |

Sass: That pain is great...well sort of. It makes you aware of those muscles doesn't it? I have been doing some squats and OUCH! Every time I sit down it reminds me of those muscles. The pain went away in a couple of days and now I find myself missing it. Sick or what??? Christian: Party Hardy! You have it together though because you are just getting right back to it! Fullsteam: The wii fit is great! I wouldn't say to use it solely. I mix it up with other exercise but I do feel I am learning from it and losing and having fun!! That is the most important part! Ok ok, I messed up again!! :eek: We had a parade tonight for our towns Christmas and my daughter marched in it...and well I had a burger, I will do better ladies, I am just going to have to make myself! I plan to go right back on my 6wbmo plan and stick to it I even prepared all my food for the week so there is no excuse to fail...I think the guilt I feel posting this is what it is going to take to keep me from letting this happen :hug:

In the line of true confessions, I had pizza tonight and was totally off plan. I don't know what is wrong with me, given the good news of this morning you would think that I would be super good, but no. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. |

Back again and finally feeling like myself again! I am so glad tom came early and I am going to be okay to go to my folks this weekend and help them out by cleaning one of the vacant apartments. More on that later... I read your news girls and I always love to read each and every one of your posts, when I was not here for a few days I really was missing you all and felt disconnected. Marybeth, good luck with the weigh in tomorrow. Christian, hey you! there you are! aw you :hug: back. I know how hard those parties and social events can be planwise, I couldn't say it any better than urockmom, so so true! THis is helping us to get through the holidays and all those parties and festivities and to help us not let them spiral. I agree as well that you have been doing super girl and we just pick up and keep at it. Enjoying all those fun things and the festivities and all is part of it as well and a beautiful thing really too to enjoy those things so I guess it's a balance.....you really have come so far and you look incredible, but even more importantly, you ARE incredible! Good for you for planning your meals ahead, your going to rock it christian. I still think of what you said a while back about getting through the holidays and all, my god, last year I gained and gained! So lucky to have you all here. We will all help keep each other in check. Sass, sounds like your working hard , hope your muscles are feeling better and you gave them a rest before going at it again. Thanks so much urockmom and Fullsteam :grouphug: I am in a much better place this morning and you ladies dont know how much it means to me to know I have you all here to not only confess too, but to declare victory with ;) I only ended up gaining 2.5 pounds in all in the past few days and I am amazed witht he amount of salt that it wasnt more, I am back on track now though and it will be gone and more before I know it, 5 pounds in 3 weeks....that is doable :yes:

im soooooo surprised that my weight is still going down even though i'm on TOM right now. Im in shock! (i've also slept in the past few days. so maybe that's why my weight is lower during my morning weigh in.. hehe we will see once the week starts up again. lol |

Fauxtini~Really? Really? Down during TOM? Is that even possible? That's awesome! Christian~5 pounds in 3 weeks is totally doable. You'll make it! Good for you helping out with older daughter. I think our oldest are the same age (14) and I wouldn't go in there without a hazmat suit!! LOL! I am with everyone else and want to go to Fullsteam's house for Chix dinner!! :) Unfortunately, we have a holiday party to go to this evening so I am going to fill up on apples and such before we leave and hope that they have some things that I can eat and stay OP. I had a very early wake-up call because younger DD had a swim meet this morning but I packed a super healthy cooler of grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, a whole wheat wrap with lettuce & sliced turkey, and did really well. You just sit there for hours being bored and eating so it is good to have only healthy snacks because they sell all the unhealthy stuff too! :devil: :hug: to all! |

Jess- Hey sis, I cook my meals ahead all the time...it keeps me from having to eat things that I shouldnt when I am home, I precook my meats and even some veggies and freeze them in protion sized containers and then I dont have to worry about not having anthing on hand, I even precook alot of things for the family too, I freeze chili, and meat for spagetti and such so that I can get a supper on the table quick for everyone else, being on Micheal Thurman is a little hard if I dont prepare for it, because I used to eat whatever my family did and now I cant have pasta and such, so I have decided to cook for about an hour twice a week and keep stocked up so that I dont quit it ;) Hope that helps...what plan do you follow?

I had something weird happen yesterday. The scale said I had gained 5 lbs!!! Then I went on wii fit and it said the same thing! Today it is back down 5 lbs! What was that?? Could it really have been fluid? That much? I guess that is what I get for looking everyday! I really have to hide that thing until weigh-in day. I was thinking of getting a new scale but I guess it really doesn't matter. If I lose it will go down even if it is not totally accurate. Also since I have the wii fit, I have a check on it. I missed Tom last month (not pregnant...probably starting menopause..yikes!) I am waiting to see if TOM starts this month. Not that I really miss TOM, but the m-word makes me feel really old. I also noticed that I lost weight when TOM came so now I miss it for that reason. I tried on some old clothes (smaller) yesterday and they fit. It was a good feeling. I think I am close to 2 sizes down. Probably 1 and a half. I don't want to go buy new yet, so I am wearing the too big sizes. I might have to go and get a couple of dress pants for work though. My "too big" dress pants are starting to fall down and the length has grown. I thought they were shrinking when I was not working on my weight. lol I guess it was me who was NOT shrinking. ok... enough about me.. Marybeth: Congrats!!! That is awesome!!! Ladiesssssss, yes yes yes at stopping over for dinner, I would just love that! :) Quickie post here as I am ready to head out but read all your news and want to congratulate everyone on being OP, making those wise choices, pre planning, having only 1 slice of cake, etc....Marybeth congrats on the loss :carrot::carrot::carrot:. Hattie, I missed a month too several months back which was strange but have since gotten it pretty regularly. Wtg on goind down in sizes :) I think getting a couple of dress pants for work is a good idea, you owe it to yourself! :) They will at least get you by for now. Keep it rockin :) It is snowing here ladies, so glad we got the outdoor lights up yesterday and got the tree. Today I am going to put the ornaments on and finish up some wrapping and decorations. Since FullSteam and I live fairly close together, it is snowing here too and it is lovely to have all of those beautiful flakes drifting down without having to shovel or worry about driving, etc. Just the best kind of snow to put you in the Christmas mood. I, too, am going to finish up my inside decorations today because I just have to start wrapping and mailing this week. I had a good time at the party and made SOME good food choices but the hostess had made homemade biscotti dipped in white chocolate. Needless to say, I am a weak person! ;) I am going to stay away from the scale for a few days to avoid what it says and hope things look up later in the week. :hug: to all of you and enjoy your Sunday!!!! |
I ate pretty bad this weekend. :( I'm going to try and get a really good workout in tonight. At least I will feel like I'm starting the week off on a good foot. Darn me and my baking. Darn it, I tell ya.

Christian- I am following a hybrid plan, using what I know from healthy eating plans. I'm just starting a BL challenge :), so I'll probably use that as my base now. But I have read so many books :book2: and I know what works for me, so I tend to mix and match to best meet my needs. For exercise, I'm using DVD's :carrot: but plan to start with the BL workouts (in the main book) to change things up a bit. I like the cook ahead idea and will probably start doing more of that. I'm a SAHM, so I don't have the time crunch many others do for cooking, but still there are days when I don't feel like doing the "healthy" thing. :hungry: It'd be great to just pull something out of the freezer. :thanks: for the info!!
Otherwise, I'm only 3 pounds or so from my Christmas goal! :dancer: I have already started thinking of non-food ways to celebrate theses milestones. It's weird because going out for a big fattening meal is ALWAYS how DH and I used to celebrate things. Now, I've come up with much healthier ways to reward myself. I'm so excited to meet my first goal!:D :grouphug: I can't thank you all enough for the encouragement on here. It has been just what I need to keep focused on the journey. |
Good morning everyone!!! Well, I think the Christmas rush is truly upon us as it has been so quiet around here. I hope that everyone, while busy, is staying OP, making good choices, and getting in their exercise!
I have "Cookie Day" coming up on Thursday when I make all of the Christmas cookies. That is going to be a bad day. I have previously expressed my weakness for the cookie dough :devil: so I am going to try to get in a big, painful workout that morning so I don't have such temptation to eat. :D MsPerception~ You are doing great to get closer to that goal. I think that somehow we ended up with a bunch of us about 3 pounds away. Now, who'll get there first? I loved your comment about rewarding yourself with something other than food. I set 5 pound goals and for every 5 pounds I have gotten myself something fun, jewelry for one, new workout clothes for another, new undies, etc. It gives me something to look forward to and I don't end up undoing all of my work. Let us know what you have decided as your reward. I am off to get in a resistance/weight workout this morning, then a bunch of wrapping to do. Hope everyone has a good day! :grouphug: |
urockmom- Oh cookie days :eek: I have to come clean and say that I had some the other night too, I think this time of year is just one of those times where if we just limit the amount and get in our workouts...we will make it ;)
Well last night I had the most wonderful thing happen ladies ...I went to my mother in laws house and she is about the size of a barbie doll and she has always been tiny, she has seen me lose and gain for years now and well...for the first time EVER...she looked at me and said ( You are looking skinny), I turned around and told her how much I really like her :lol: and have felt wonderful that the hard work is really paying off, her compliments are about as rare as they get and for her to say that to me was the boost I needed to continue this and not to stop until I reach that alltime goal I set, I just know I will see 139 now, I am determined! :carrot: |
Cookie days.... i wouldn't do well with cookie days... I love baking and cooking.. but it's VERY hard not to dive into the dough and fresh out of the oven cookies!
Im back down in the 230s again. 238.4 to be exact.. and the only direction i better go is down from there! lol Christian! congrats on the compliment... it feels DANG good to get compliments.. especially for people you LEAST expect it from. I bet it's really motiated you to get going doown down down!! high fives to you! |

Only 2.6 more pounds to my new years goal! I am sick, but only took one day completely off exercising. I also ordered 30-day Shred from Amazon to get some variety in my exercise routine. It should help carry me through Christmas without to many ill effects...
urockmom-Thanks for the ideas. Workout clothes and jewelry would be 2 more good ideas. I'm thinking massages, fitness gear (equipment, DVDs, etc.), and getting goal clothes. Christian-Congrats on the compliment! I can't imagine my MIL ever complimenting me about my weight loss...ever! So, well done! |

OK, so I know we call this a "Challenge" for a reason but I am really struggling this week. I am up 2 pounds from last Friday. I know, I know, it is probably the pizza and the biscotti :D but by Wednesday I have usually lost the weekend weight. :?: I know I had a big drop last week so that might mean little to no loss this week but I really, really would like to make my Christmas goal and that is getting harder and harder as it moves away! :(
I have been working out consistently and feel like my body is getting firmer-and I know that there is no difference between how much muscle & fat weighs-but I just feel denser from the muscle. Oh well, just a small :tantrum:. I am going to the gym this morning to get a swim in. I am noticing that on weeks when I swim at least once, I lose, and if I don't swim I might or might not lose. OK so like Christmas is around the corner and I'm freaking! I just got my ticker to look positive starting today after a week and a half of trying to make up what I gained from Thanksgiving. It's so not worth it to pig out ever.
I had to change my diet because I'm weight lifting now and I require more protein...less fat and it's wonderful!!! I thought I was watching what I ate before, I'm really watching and counting now. Keep up the good work guys and for those who are struggling like me...never give up!!! |
