Well my scale is still stuck. It just doesn't seem to matter what I do. I am eating 1400 cal and working out everyday, well I missed one day this week. Hearing you all talk about recipes made me think, maybe I should start cooking good low cal things again. I have a bunch of recipes I was using, but haven't in a while. Maybe I'll tyr that.

Michelle- One of my favorite recipes is for a pizza pasta salad, with turkey pepp. and canadian bacon. I love it. Your family is wierd. I love Light and Tasty. Haven't bought one in a while. My most recent purchase is "The Decadent Diet." Haven't made a thing out of it yet. I should do that. Maybe the next challenge we can share one food idea a week or something. Hope you hook up with Aud!! That would be awesome. Since I live in Mich. Cedar Point is a common destination, although haven't been there is years.

Aud- Hope you hook up with Michelle. And have fun at Cedar Point. I'm sure it will be packed for the 4th. Hope you have a great time.

Jcat- Sorry about the migraine. I get them and know how bad it can be. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've had one since I started this weight loss battle. Hope you are feeling better. Enjoy the weekend.

War- That is really good progress. I would be happy for 6 pounds. I will give my official weight on Sunday. I understand where you are coming from with the scientific approach. It should all make sense and work, right? Oh if only that were true for me. Keep up the good work. You are doing awesome.

By the way, what is the next challenge going to be and when are we starting and ending it? Labor day was an idea. It works for me. I get the feeling some of us need to focus more closely on food. Maybe we could make it food related. New recipes, calories, posting daily food, etc. What do you think?

I think a focus on food might be helpful. I've been doing a little bit of analysis of my diet and it's pretty interesting--example, I think I've been eating in the range of 2200 to 2500 calories per day (too much, just right? I'm not really sure). I would also be happy to contribute recipes (fully analyzed) that I use. Posting daily food would be OK with me too.

All I have to say today is I am just down in the dumps and feeling sorry for myself today. My son is in Chicago with friends, my DD can't come home and then her best friend calls me to tell me there is a "situation" and she is scared to talk to me. Turns out it is financial and she didn't want to disappoint me. Kind of a relief. My roomie is going to a party, with people I do not know. Not my thing. My extended family is off to a parade and fireworks (about 40 min. away) and I am home with the dogs. Sure I could have gone, but those things just don't interest me. Then there is the whole weight gain issue. That's all I seem to be able to do is gain.

I think my weight issue has to do with my being home for the summer instead of out working all day. I have to find a way to combat it though. Maybe workout twice a day, cut calories, something. Went to the bookstore today and got 2 magazines with some good recipes in them. I'll let you know what I try. I also bought a new DVD. It is kickboxing. Think I will try it tonight. Heck, I've got nothing else to do. Hope everyone else is having a great 4th.

See ya tom.

Morning weedies!

My birthday yesterday (yes, I'm yankee doodle dandy) was nice. BBQ was full of barbie cut out girls 25 years old or less with big fake boobies. BF made me feel so good about my big ole curvy body that I stripped down to my tankini and pretended like I owned the place. Not an ounce of intimidation, and a total NSV for me. Cellulite and all. Then we hit the casino for a few hours. Much like Nchelle, I lost some $ but had a blast. 37 ain't bad at all!

HolyT - definitely let me know when your out this way in august. Where are you planning on going?

Mtiger - just read from the beginning of the thread. My motivation has wavered but I want it back! You're right, we need some fire! Gonna look for an enticing twist for the next challenge.

Aud -A trip to see Nchelle! How exciting. we want a full report and I hope your having a great time!

War - I LOVE LOVE LOVE dancing. I hope you find a way to make it happen. I have prodded my BF with it. He's not convinced, but I'm not giving up!

Shari - How's our working girl? Got gas at Valero here the other day and thought about ya!

Nchelle - printing the recipe and going to let BF work the magic soon! cant wait to try it!

Jcat - D-land approaches! are you still planning on coming out? Make your reservations at Blue Bayou soon!!! they take them 60 days in advance you know!

So... I have this thing I do every year on my birthday. I sit down and make a list of 5year, 3year, and 1 year goals. Usually between 3 and 5 things for each time period. Amazingly enough, I have met many of them early, especially related to finishing school and upping my annual salary. I start with the 5 year, the 3 year then consists of objectives to get me to the 5 year, the 1 year to the 3 year, and I set monthly to get to 1 year. Kind of a start with the end in mind. I don't obsess about it but I do refer to the list once a month and put some things (like 3) down to accomplish over the next 30 days. It 's less overwhelming than trying to figure it all out now, and somehow helps me keep on track to a large degree. There's also something cleansing about it being broken down. Don't quite know why I posted that I do it, other than to say that it gives me a big picture reassess moment and even if they are minimal successes, they add up. Its my remotivating moment and a little b-day gift I give to myself. Just thought I'd share before the next WEED challenge!

Hope your all having a great weekend. I'LL BE BACK!

Nixie....i'm planning on being out there the week of August 11. I don't know if DH will be there with me, and if that's the case I'll only be out a couple of days. First stop is Oxnard...Dallas Cowboys Training Camp before it closes on the 13th. I am planning to meet with another lady from a former thread....Jcat do you remember Stevi?? I'm planning on seeing her Other than that I think I'd like to go to San Diego, if DH is with me....and then probably stopping off at Pismo on the way back home. I love that place

To Nixmom- Glad you had a good day. I can see you now running around in that swimsuit like queen of the earth. You are Queen of your world. You are only 37, just a baby still. My BFF is 33, so I am the old one here. 48, yep, 48 this year. Man, what happened.

Jcat- Do you feel that eating gets boring? I am like you and have pretty much the same things most of the time. My 2 new magazines have some wonderful looking stuff in them. I really need to pick some stuff and start making them. I feel the need for some new stuff.

I was going to get up and add in an extra walk this morning, see if it helped. Well "roomie" started doing some work outside so I have been hauling branches and trimming bushes for about 4 hours. So much for needing that walk. I will still do my regular workout tonight. My arms are pretty much useless right now. Jello anyone?? I think for the next challenge I want to put it right out there and post what I eat and see what you gals think. I know I don't eat many veggies and still get hung up on some processed foods. I will be looking to you for ideas and words of wisdom.

Talk to ya ll later!

everyone!

Nix!

I'm doing okay, been alternating between working day and graveyard shifts at Valero. Worked graveyard last night, drunk people are funny . Found out that my neighborhood is basically surrounded by clubs so I could walk to one if I had the guts.

For the ones who asked, our next challenge is a Labor Day challenge and it starts Monday.
