Sizzlin' Summer Size Challenge
We all know that in the end Size really DOES matter! Here's a chance to jump into a challenge to lose the inches and pounds to shrink yourself down a size or two! The End date is June 21st - first day of Summer!
So post often - get support - and watch yourself shrink into a cute and smaller swim suit! |
I'm here! I want to be firmly in size 16's. I'm starting to incoporate some of Jillian's (TBL) workouts into my schedule so that will definitely help.

I had a HORRIBLE weigh in today! I'm UP #3 from where I was on St. patty's Day! :eek:
Luckily for me - I'm going to work my butt off and LOSE THIS WEIGHT! I need to read the book Shay - and get a better grasp on what I'm doing... I need to stop talking myself out of work outs... I need to wake up an extra 10 mins early and do a power workout.. IT'S ONLY 10 MINUTES! I NEED TO BE A SIZE 12 BY JUNE 21ST! Ok girls - apparently I should be working when I'm here and on the clok :lol: I'll check in later! Hopefully to many more girls joining in! |
MEMEME!! I am in a size 10 now and I want to be in a size 8 by summer. If I stick to my goals I will be >150 by then.
I weigh in and measure tomorrow so I will update then. What kind of exercise are you all doing? I am trying to walk/run 4x/week and do some sort of toning/strengthening/stretching 4x/week. |
joining in from the earth day challenge. i just want to drop one more size - i have pants in a size down that no longer fit me but they DO mock me from the back of my drawer!!
smurf i am hoping to strength train 3x a week (i have been slacking on that!) and walk/jog/run 5x a week. although i need to note that i used to take middle eastern (aka bellydance) classes and the icon w/ my signature is a little reminder for me that i need to start doing that again! |

I've been losing weight and shedding inches but I haven't gone down a size yet! I'm a size 8 right now but I would love to get back down to a size 6. I even have some 4's from a couple summers ago, if I could button those I would jump for joy! :trampo: |
I hate that there is such a difference in sizing! I have some jeans (levi brand) in a size 10 that fit me great (legs are a little baggy, but that I think is more the cut) but then I have some capri that are a size Medium *which is equivilant to a size 10 I think* that I can barely get up over my butt :)
So I am going to be more specific. I want my Levi brand jeans to be a size 8 and I would really like to fit into my many many pairs of capri that I bought on sale in the hopes that I could wear them last summer-didn't get there-so this summer for sure! |
I will join!!! I would like to be a size 2 by this summer. Which may also be a more comfortable size 4 but a size 2 all the same. (and we are talking misses size 2...not juniors. I'd like to be a size 5 juniors and a comfortable size 7 juniors in all brands.)
My plan is to either go to cardio class 3 times a week and work out in the main cardio equipment room once a week or go jogging/walking 4 times a week 2-3 miles a time. Or a combination of the 2 listed up above. |
I'm so happy to see so many joining! :) I've fallen in love with Non-scale challenges.. although I may start weighing more again to stay more accountable!
I just finished a mile walk... and I'm going to do the 3 mile video tonight after I get home. That will give me my hour for today. My *plan* is 10 min video in the AM - walk in the afternoon after work, generally w/ DD - and a video at night after DD goes to bed. I know there's NO WAY I'm going to find an hour solid of time I can spend working out - so splitting it up will have to do! :D OK - I've done 20 mins so far - 40 more to go! |
count me in i would like to be 12 maybe pushing a 10. this is perfect because i was think of working on lossing inches instead of pounds for the month of May.

I'm looking to be back in a Misses size 14 by 6/21, hopefully close to a Misses size 12. At this time last year, I lost my focus so I'm doing these challenges to keep myself involved and active with this lifestyle change. :)

Count me in. I'd like to be in a comfortable 12 by then. I'm planning on getting more core exercise in to help get me there.

Eny I have to split my workouts up too. I work from home (mostly) with 3 kids there is no such thing as an hour to myself.
I did a 30 min. pilates/cross train workout this am 20 min. soccer/racing with my son (he is fast and agile I thought I would have to let him win-not so much) I am also hoping to get *me* time with a 40 min. walk/run later tonight. I also do 100 calf raises and 100 toe taps while I do the dishes, and 3x15 pushups (on the counter the cheaters way) throughout the day. Misses vs Juniors maybe that is the difference in my pants-I know the levis are misses and I would bet the capris are juniors-thanks for that ahha moment :) I am looking forward to my first weigh in/measurements tomorrow I feel good about it! |

I would love to be a size 12 by June 21st. I am not really sure what size I am as I refuse to go shopping since I had my son 5 months ago. I think that I am a size 14 or 16. I'd like to be in my size 14's by June 21st (baggy size 14's!) These last couple of weeks have been rough exercise-wise, because I kept injuring myself. I'm feeling better now, but the next two weeks are going to be rough because I have finals and end of term papers and projects. But I'll try to get in a work out at least 3 times a week, and then bump it up once this miserable semester is over. Good luck, everyone!!! |
Smurf--My goal is to strength train/resistance exercises 2x/wk and cardio 3x/wk. If I ever force myself back to the gym I combine cardio and strength training. I do 20 minutes each on the bike, treadmill, and elliptical. In between I do strength training. Or I do cardio prior to going to a strength training class.

Ok girls - yesterday went better. I DID NOT succumb to DBF's popcorn and candy at the movies. However I was WAY too tired to workout when we got home.
Godd thing is that I woke up with morning and fought myself on whether or not I was going to do a work out - and guess what - the "good Eny" won out and I did a 10 min ab video! :) :yay: I'm going to take a walk when i get out of work. It'll be good :D Just staying on plan today... I desperately need to get back to my Christmas weight! I'm back into the #190s and that's NOT OK!!! I want to lose these #2 this week... and keep moving downwards! I CAN DO IT!!! Work is NUTS so I'm working a TON of overtime! :welcome3: to all our regulars and our newbies! I have no idea what size I am (I rarely go clothes shopping and I hate trying stuff on) so I'm going by shirt sizes. Right now, I usually wear 1x-3x (I like wearing too-big shirts) so my goal for this challenge will be to fit comfortably into a size L shirt.....this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ydollpic-1.jpg I had my measurements taken when I went to gym Monday so I know where I stand and where I have to be to fit into this shirt. I plan on going to the gym a min. of four times a week, doing a mixture of water aerobics, yoga, and dance cardio. :goodluck: :dust: |

Today's exercise plan: 30 min pilates as soon as I finish typing this 100 toe raises and 100 toe taps sometime today 50 push ups on the counter sometime today 50 step ups on a 20 inch step sometime today 45 min walk tonight-it is raining now and supposed to get worse so if it is still raining when I want to head out I will stay in and do a weight training circut workout. So the measurements are in...rounded up to the nearest .25 inch LAST MONTH=272.50 TODAY=268.75 for a total of 3.75 inches. .5 off waist 1 of hips .5 off upper thighs (combined) 1 of mid thighs (combined) .5 off calves (combined) chest stayed the same but that is okay, I don't have much to loose there before I become inverted ;) .25 off left arm (gotta work that right one harder) I am very happy because I really didn't start working out until half way through the month! I try to only measure once a month during the same week, but for this challenge I might measure 2x/month What are your goals today? |

I want to join and work towards being in a size 16, totally and completely. I know I have a lot of work to do, but one thing I know for sure is being among 3fc is helpful and encouraging. Here is what I plan on doing: 1. Walk up steps instead of elevator 2. Drinking at least 32oz. water per day 3. 5k walk at least 3x's per week 4. Morning yoga 2x's per week 5. Complete reading of SBD Book and at some point pull that bike out and climb up on it and ride :bike2: |
cute shirt, shari! good idea to pick a specific article of clothing to work towards rather than just a size.
last night was a little mess... two drinks and my bf decided to order fries which naturally we shared plus the cashews on the bar. tonight's a family dinner and tomorrow a luncheon - all combined with the presence of TOM. can i say ICK?? |

I just finished 14 min ab workout, :exercise: downed 2 (16 oz) cups of water:cheers: and went up (and down) 3 flights of stairs three time today.:twirly: Dinnertime is coming up. Hopefully that will not be downfall. Janel |

Hunter and I just got back from a 1.2 mile walk... it was nice. so I'm up to 40 mins already today. :) I just have to do an aerobic workout for about 20 mins - then I have to work for about 4 hours tonight.. which sucks! Ok girls I'm getting off here to go and get the little one out of the shower and to finish up my day. :) Until the morning! |

Eny: I like that idea of having a mile goal, yea I like that Missj: Good job, I wish I had an ab workout tape. My belly look like I am about 7-8 months preg. Wow, I really did great with water today. However I ate like crazy at dinner. I realized it was emotional eating because I have a huge training coming up that I have to faciliate and today I was informed that they are snobs. I did the water and stairs today and that's about all I was able to get myself to do today.:cbg: |

I got along great with the interviewer but found out that the doctor will be the one to decide and I didn't met him. Plus, if I do get the position, I'll be this doctor's ONLY secretary!:fr: If this position was for on one of the wards, where I would be one of five-six clerks, I could handle that. Now I'm scared. I really don't have much experience doing straight secretary work, they have training but still! I'll be by myself!:faint: I probably won't get the job which will be sad cause I really am burnt out in food service. :headache::hot: TOM arrived yesterday, RIGHT BEFORE THE INTERVIEW, yeah it sucked having to smile and appear cheerful when I wanted to rip someone's face off!:bomb: But that explains why I got so depressed the other day and the weight gain. And why I'm so sleepy right now! :yawn: I really don't feel like going anywhere, I think I'm going to wash these clothes and just lay around today. |

Morning gals!!! So, yesterday i started working towards my goal of a size down. I got outside after work and walked/jogged 2 1/4 miles. I actually got a mile in jogging and a mile and a quarter walking. I was very worn out that i really didn't sleep well last night...but i plan to do this again today and then hit the gym tomorrow night and do it there...and then hit the gym on saturday. I may do some elliptical and then go jogging/walking for 2 miles. I am trying to hit 25 miles jogging/walking for the month of april (my goal was 50 but i was really slack this month).
I am trying to be more mindful of my eating and drinking. Gotta get back to eating 1200-1300 calories and drink my 64 ounces of water. I hope everyone else is doing great on their goals!!!! |

Shari have faith in yourself. The job I currently have I went on the interview just to do it because they called me. I was certain they was not going to select me. I was being interviewed by three Ph.D's. I left thinking oh well it was good practice, at least I KNEW what I was talking about if no one else. Needless to say I got the job and I love my job. First time in years I enjoyed a job as much as this one. Who would have known!!!! Fear not sweetie this may be the best thing going for you at this time. That shirt is gonna look HOT, look like the twins are going to have some fun :yes: Thanks Eny, I am ready to do what I do. fan4ever: You make me wanna get up and do something. I am out I 'll tell ya'll what I did later. :lifter: :woohoo: I walked a 5K, walked up and down the stairs (In hotel on 3rd floor) and doing fair with the water intake. ok so four days in a row of the walking now all i need to do is start getting up with my alarm (4:30 AM) in the morning and start to do the toning that i want to do. i am drinking more water then i was a month ago. i do plan to take measurements tonight sometime.

I'm having a F*&$ this week... I'm still down from Tuesday - which is good - but I know that could easily creep back up. I need to get my poop in a group and do this.. but honestly this week - I DON'T WANT TO!! Motivation is gone. :(

So far this week, I've done 4 days of doing both the TBL Cardio Max and Power Scuplt DvDs as well as walking 3 miles on both Sunday and Monday. I took today off to give my muscles a rest. I'm definitely seeing changes but I know its going to be tough to stay focused as this challenge goes on.

I am aiming to get 32 oz of watre in today and still taking stairs. I need to get a 14 min ab workout in again. Baby gal I don't have an ab tape. My cable company called Comcast has an OnDemand option where I can go the the Fitness menu and watch a video on just about any subject. It changes monthly so hopefully I wont get bored. Hey Shari, I'm hopeful you got the job. Sometimes interviews can seem misleading. For my current job all my boss talked about was how hot the computer guy was and how on Fridays they all liked to have a beer at work. . .and she's the owner of the company. It sounds like everyone is doing great! Hang in there Enygirl. Just remember Summer is coming and you want to look HOT! And you will! Just keep up with the exercise and eating right. Shari-love the top! What a great idea to have a specific item of clothing you want to get into! I'm going to need to dig through my closet. Sometimes the sodium gets me, though. I'm not really hungry, so maybe I'll skip dinner, or have some fruit later. I am feeling good again, so I'll be back on the treadmill tomorrow! Ooh, I want to join! Now that my size 12's (misses, 15 juniors) are fitting comfortably again, I would LOVE to be a size 10 (13 juniors) by summer. I literally do not remember the last time I was a 10. I usually buy my jeans at Old Navy and Gap, so I guess I'll go by their sizes.
My plan is to stick to my current eating and exercise plan, but drive less and walk more now that the weather is lovely and gas is $3.60 a gallon... |

Eny, Eny, Eny I rocked out LOUD at the workshop. Some of my evaluation scores were perfect. I recieved a lot of praise afterwards. Yes, they were a lil snoody, but I got through it. I wish you were doing better. I have always found you to be an encouragement. I hope you are treating yourself nicely while you go throuh this season.

Here's to you :dust: S88: Were you always a size 7 ? Today I went to the store and as I was walking in a lady was walking out. Her stomach was so huge, and it drooped down toward her knees, she was an elder lady. She had those pants pulled up and that shirt tucked in, jacket open, I thought to myself you might be hungry (and I was), but I bet you better not go in there today and go crazy on sweets. Ladies I sware I didn't even eat a piece of bulk candy. I didn't buy candy, chips or pop after seeing that woman, God bless her because she helped me today. For about two weeks now I have been having a problem with my selection of food choices and binge eating. I am more conscious and in control of my food selection than my binge eating. Sometime when I realize I am binge eating I am still unable to stop. It's like I be talking to myself in my brain trying to stop over doing it but I say "it taste so good" " oh you might as well finish it" " you'll be hungry later" etc. I hate it. I wish it would stop. I hate overeating especially when I am aware I am doing it. It is totally embarrassing even when I'm alone, I feel uncomfortable and ashamed of myself. Thanks for letting me share. Maybe I will have better control now that it is out there. Chicks enjoy your weekend. :df: |
