June weight loss challenge

Hi ladiesssssssssss :) time to get geared up for our new month together!

congratulations to all of you on your losses thus far and/or lifestyle changes! Let's keep on trucking : )

Hope to see you all from previous months as well as anyone who would like to join us. Anyone can join in and all are welcome! We are all on various plans and set various goals , etc. As stated before, measurements of success need not be measured by the scale as we all have our own unique way of doing things and what works best for us. We are here to encourage and support one another and I so look forward to our new fresh start and new month! : ) Having you all here and having each other for support and sharing ideas , etc. has been such a tremendous help and it's so nice to come in and read and write to each other. Ty once again and nowww, let's kick some butt! lol :)

My goal for this month will be to lose 8 lbs. Also, I am thinking to stretch out my weigh-in days by a few days and weigh in 3x this month. I plan to weigh-in on the 10nth, 20th, and 30th which takes me to the last day of the month. Looking forward to seeing you all here :) ciao for now, have a superrrrrrr day.

nyerinuk 05-30-2007 01:46 PM

Hi everyone!

This month I'm aiming for 5 lbs off. Anymore would be a bonus but I'm trying to keep it real for myself. I'm going on vacation with the family the second week of August and I'd like to have a stone off by then. I weigh in on Tuesday so I'll check in after my weigh in next week.

One step at a time, one day at a time.

I'm going to do it this time!!!!

Cheers
Treasa

needsahug 05-30-2007 02:06 PM

I'd like to be involved in the June challenge

I am a returnie from about 2 years ago. I need something to keep me motivated this time around. My 12 year old daughter and I have started WW and I am walking with her everyday that we can. She has summer softball. So most days it is just myself but on the days that she can she is out an moving too. I would like to lose a total of 10 lbs for this first of many challenges. Thanks for the chance to better myself with you gals!

shelby897 05-30-2007 02:16 PM

Count me in :D

I need a new start. I'm doing the Biggest Loser 12 week challenge but can't seem to get my act together and we are already 1/2 way through --

I'm at 243 as of this morning and would love to lose 10 pounds by the end of June. I have a family wedding to go to the end of July and I haven't seen most of my family in years -- so I would love to show up a little thinner and a bit more cute!!!

I started Slim Fast this morning, just for a jump start to chear me up and then it's back to calorie counting for me!!

Good luck to everyone -- we can do these small goals (it's the overall picture that freaks me out!! )

Lekhika 05-30-2007 02:40 PM

Greetings everyone!! I am in for this challange!!

I think I'm going to try for an even 8 pounds this month! I'm going to push myself even harder!

And I'm planning weigh ins every two weeks. So I'll keep the weigh in of this morning...132 and next weigh in will be on the 13th of June and then the last on the 27th of June!

Then the final weigh in will be on July 11th, a day before I go away on vacation! I am really hoping to be hovering between 120 and 125 mark by then...I hope I can make it!!!!!

Lets get moving ladies!!

sockmonkey70 05-30-2007 03:20 PM

Hey everyone! I have been checking in all day for this thread LOL. Was getting worried it got forgotten.

How are all of you lovely ladies? I am doing great. I basically had a month off in May LOL. I lost 3 pounds, which is good, but about halfway through May I just seemingly gave up. Subconsciously I know I was still eating less than I used to because I maintained the loss throughout the month with NO excercise or good food LOL.

So here I Am, ready to start fresh after my May debacle. I am so disapointed that I set myself back, but I feel confident that I can get back on track.

As for my goals, I am setting my sights on 11 pounds again this month. I am going to get my bootay into gear, eat right, and hit them gym!

Good luck everyone!

Treighsie 05-30-2007 08:34 PM

Me me! I am at 137 and I want to be at 130 by the end of the month (???) So, my goal is 7 pounds. I wish! I hope! I wish!

jordan 05-30-2007 09:56 PM

My June goal will be 11. I'm at 230 and very much would like to make it to the 2teens. 11 lbs. to make me 219 at the end of the month is the goal(though I must say 215 would be nice but perhaps impractical). Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see how everyone does this month.
June 1 - 230.6
June 10 - 225.2 This months loss thus far = 5.4

needsahug 05-31-2007 07:30 AM

so being a newbie to these types of challenges, would someone explain how it works do we all report our weigh-ins every so often to see how we are doing on our goals? just needing a little explaination of how things work is all.

mascara 05-31-2007 09:18 AM

cool i like doing these as may was my first and a kinda experiment i wanna set my goal at 10 again i probably wont meet it but i like to set my bar high i never seem to do anything right if i dont have to work hard for it.
needsahug Thats exactly it, you come in with your weight however often you weigh in and you can ask questions or just babble about weightloss and stuff in your life. tis fun!

ktandthesmurfs 05-31-2007 09:48 AM

Hey everyone! I am SO excited for June! I'm planning on losing four pounds and I'll weigh in every Monday so I can (try) to keep on track over the weekend.

needsahug 05-31-2007 10:45 AM

Thank you for your help mascara! I plan on Friday weigh-ins since I started keeping track last Friday. Good luck to everyone!

Lekhika 05-31-2007 06:51 PM

I am ready! Bring it on June!!

Took the kids out for a 2 mile walk this morning (they were on their sit and stand stroller) then later on I did some circuit training on the treadmill...ran super fast for 15 seconds and walked for 45. By the time I was done (30minutes) I felt like I was going to throw up. But...it kept the workout interesting!! I'll try to do more tomorrow.

I feel like I need to do something to shake up my standard program...so I'm trying new things. I really want to meetmy goal this month...I haven't been in the 120s since I got married! Oh to be that weight again.

I am so revved up to be exercising.

Plus I am trying to do modified push ups (30) everyday.

JasonsLea 05-31-2007 10:10 PM

:broc: New month, new month!!! Yall know I love new starts. :D I'm feeling good, no GREAT! This month is getting started the right way: finally got cable, should have my car in a week or so, and I get my computer this weekend so I can be around more! Add to that, today has been a FABULOUS on-plan day! I guess seriously writing down EVERYTHING I eat is helping.

Oh, WL goal for June:

* Lose 5 lbs. (Going to be more, the way I'm feeling. :dizzy: )

JasonsLea 05-31-2007 10:11 PM

Oh forgot to say HI to everyone, including all newbies and soon to be newbies!

mascara 06-01-2007 07:13 AM

shelby897 06-01-2007 09:41 AM

I'm so ready to start over and a new month is a good start.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays on track -- get lots of exercise!!

needsahug 06-01-2007 11:04 AM

well wasn't a good weigh-in but hey it's a freash month and anything can happen right???? It seems I gained weight from last week but the stress, the not eating and not sleeping has a lot to do with it. But we move on go from here and start on working on my 10 pounds for this month. Good Luck to all and have a great weekend!!!!

5-1 weigh-in 252 lbs.

goodmorning ladies :)

:welcome2: to all. Hi shelby : ), glad that you joined us, it helps me to take things one step at a time too.

Happy first day of our new month ladies!! : )

I was laid up for a few days so it was difficult, couldn't cook or do much of anything so my plan got thrown off kilter buttttttt I have rested and woke up feeling good today and so I am ready to rock n' roll! It's back to planning my meals 2 days in advance, boy does that make a big difference! Right now, I am focusing on today and making it a successful day. One day at a time, beginning with today! : ) Wishing you all a successful first and new day, sounds like we are all ready and rearing to go, let's kick butt ladies :)

Well, I best be getting a move on, I have so many things to catch up on around here. I am going to make sure that the house is devoid of anything not on plan and that I have all my healthy snack on h and! Happy friday ladies, hope you all have a super weekend. :)

sunnshine25 06-01-2007 11:54 AM

Hey Ladys!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is getting ready for this months challange ,because I believe that this will be a great month for all of us.;) My Goal for this month is 15lb and that means dedication...I know I can do it, just focus, focus, focus. I am so anxious to be under 300lb again it is noy funny,I can litarely taste it...Maybe you guys wonder why ,because that is still a lot of weight but I just feel so much better when I am under that 300 mark I can hear my body say thank you...at my last weight loss attempt I got down to 280 and all my aches and also my emotional pains started going away and I started feeling so freaking good ,but all that came back with the weight gain. Sometimes I feel like I am seventy going on a hundred and I can not weight for that to stop...anyways let me stop I am getting carried away here.

My Mother is coming to visit me in September I have not seen here for over five years ..she leaves in europe..and when I seen here last I was at my highest weight ever ,so this time I wanna see tears in hear eyes, not because of sadness ,but because I look so damn good:carrot:
Well,I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Lekhika 06-01-2007 12:38 PM

Had a good start to the day. I worked out on the treadmill for an hour and am planning on popping in a yoga dvd after I finish this post. I love the circuit workout I'm doing right now, it's really challanging and I feel like **** when doing it but am so glad and amazed when I've gotten through it.

In the evening, I"m going to do some free weights, crunches and pushups.

And that's it for the day.

We are attending a potluck tomorrow and I'm taking it easy on the calories today so that (a) my stomach will not be aching for food tomorrow (b) to make up for the intake that I'm likely to have tomorrow.

Exercise will happen in the pm tomorrow!

Mascara

Did you ever try that saline flush?
And fabulous on fitting into size 12! That rocks!! I can't wait until I can wear a size 8 (us)!!

sunnshine25
That's a wonderful goal! Go yoU!!

wateraddict 06-02-2007 07:24 AM

Hi everyone!

My goal for this month is to loose 8lbs! I want to be in the 150's July 1st.

mascara 06-02-2007 10:52 AM

lekhika yeah i did try the flush but i may not make it a regular thing, i didn't realise it was gonna be that much of a "flush". and good luck on getting to size 8!! its kinda sad but i was walking aroud the shop with the size tag hanging out hoping someone would see (god i need to get a life)

sockmonkey70 06-02-2007 12:27 PM

Congrats on those size 12's mascara! That is awesome.

How is everyone doing? I had a great day yesterday..it was the first day I have been totally on plan in weeks, and it felt amazing. I feel like I am ready to face the world now LOL. Weighed this morning, still stuck at 207 but I am THANKFUL for that.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

ktandthesmurfs 06-02-2007 05:16 PM

Hey! It sounds like everyone is doing well (day two of the challenge, lol). I'm very excited for Monday's weigh in and I'm sure I've lost at least a pound. Today I went for a jog in the heat and it was amazing. I loved walking into my air conditioned house after, with the sweat pouring down. I feel so good right now, Yay post-exercising endorphins!

Treighsie 06-02-2007 07:17 PM

Waah... weighed in this morning and I was up another .6 I know, it's not much... but a bit discouraging. I really am going to try so hard this week. I HAVE to get it down!!

Lytricia 06-02-2007 10:35 PM

Hi Guys

Wow the June challenge is really busy. I'm back in for another session.

I am really glad to see all the enthusiasm from all of you, even when things aren't going well everyone seems to still plug along and support each other. Hallelujah!!!

I have been following the "Frankenstein diet"...the principals of South Beach, the occasional slim fast when I'm too busy for a real meal...and making sure this all falls into the 22 points I'm allowed if I were doing the weight watchers program!!! and it seems to be working really well, I lost 3 pounds last week alone.:)

My goal this month is to lose 10 pounds and man o man I'm doin' it!!! I am so into wearing a bikini this summer (I have until Sept 21 right!?) and I need to be at least 135 to do it so here I go!!!!! :dizzy:

Christina S 06-02-2007 11:13 PM

Count Me In!
I Want To Lose 9 Pounds..i Want To Be In The 140's...i Am Going To Weigh Every Monday At Ww...i Hope I Lose It!

FullSteamAhead 06-03-2007 01:10 PM

good afternoon ladies :)

welcome christina : )

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It was a steamer here yesterday but no complaints, I love hot weather. I wasn't up to going out last night and wanted to just hang out and sit outside. I did some swimming and that felt great! Today by contrast, it is much cooler and if the rain holds off I would like to get in an outdoor walk. I went to bed very late last night so I am getting off to a late start today.

Lytricia, hi there! : ) THe so called "frankenstein diet" sounds super and the fact that it is working so well for you makes it super indeed! go girl! :)

Treighsie, I would go nuts if I weighed in every day (I used to) as my body fluctuates so much and I typically would play with 3 lbs. Try not to let those numbers discourage you if your weighing in on a daily basis, that can be real tricky. In time and on plan, I beleive you will see more accurate results. I am going full steam ahead this week too, I want it down too! Let's keep on going, day by day, and surely weight loss will come our way ;)

Hi kt, sounds like you had an awesome workout! Got to love those endorphins! : )

sockmonkeyyyy, way to go girl! :carrot: : ) keep up the great work, hope your having a wonderful weekend as well : ). Ohhhh by the way, I saw your thread! What a fantastic idea, very helpful indeed!

mascaraaaaa, congrats on the size 8 (U.S) :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
that's dynamite. I thought what you wrote about someone seeing the tag is not sad at all, sooooo darn cute! :) and by all means, you deserver every right to be proud! great work hun, cograts :)

Hi water addict, sounds great! I love the pic of the little angel :)

50lbstogo, your rocking!!!! 8lbs. lost is superrrrrrrr :) keep up the great work.

tracyg, congrats on the 13lbs. thus far! Your doing great, keep on truckin girl : )

Lekhika, sounds like your really kicking some major butt there with your wokourts! go girl :carrot:

sunshine, hi there sweety! : ) I feel like its going to be a good month too! keep at it, you will get there. You must be so excited that your mom is coming in September, I am happy for you. Keep up the great work sunshine : )

Well my ladies, I have to get my tail in gear and get moving, gosh, sometimes I am sooo lazy to start the ex. but then feel good once i get going. It is so nice to come in and read everyone's posts, as always. Happy day 3 of our month. Hope everyone has a super day in all respects. Catchyou all soon : ) keep on truckin!

shelby897 06-03-2007 01:35 PM

Good afternoon everyone :)

The scales were put away this morning until next Sunday -- I swear I get on and they make me eat!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. So far I'm just trying to make it through today without a sugary snack :dizzy:

giovannip811 06-03-2007 03:13 PM

Hi, I lost one pound this month so far and very happy about that and my goal will be 8 pounds this month.

sockmonkey70 06-03-2007 03:49 PM

Well I went out shopping with my mom yesterday, which of course meant eating out too. I did well, we went to a Thai restaraunt that has a Sushi Buffet as well as a normal buffet. I ate veggies off the normal buffet and my fill of yummy sushi!! I am craving it again today LOL. Oh well, there is always next weekend :D

mascara 06-03-2007 03:56 PM

geovannip a WHOLE pound already!! better get my skates on then.

I'm thinking of doing a 3 day fruit fast Mon-Wed I cant remember who said they were thinking of doing that in the May challenge but its stuck with me so I'll give it a bash!!

pinkbunny 06-04-2007 07:09 AM

I know we are already a few days into the month, but I am going to take up the June challenge as well. The time has come to kick things into gear.

I've been slowly working towards the new me for exactly 1 month, and despite my utter laziness I have dropped 8 pounds. I know there are some people who would kill for an eight pound loss, but I figure, if I can lose 8lbs just by avoiding sweets and increasing my water, just imagine what I could do if I exercised to the point of actually breaking a sweat. It will be tough, but I'm going to try for a goal of 12 pounds by June 30th. Hopefully, the ice cream demons will stay away for that long. They are tricky little buggers!!!

pigginpodgey 06-04-2007 09:34 AM

hey ladies!
Im back on the challenge, this month something will happen!! I dont know what is up with my body, saturday i weighed in and was down a lb to 218, this was after some toast and some tea. This morning, empty stomach, empty bladder and naked, up to 222!!!! It seems very unfair!! But im going to be accountable and put my ticker up to 222. This month im aiming to lose 5lbs.

Lekhika 06-04-2007 09:58 AM

Greetings folks!! How is everyone this gloomy Monday (gloomy in New Jersey at least?)

The kids and I are down with a horrid cold and I have promised my husband not to go nuts on the treadmill again. It's hard for me not to exercise, I'm constantly afraid that once I stop....I'll just stay there and not start again. So, I am resolving today to just take it easy on the treadmill....just a half an hour at a fair pace. And anyway today was my weights day so I'll just pump up my reps there...

My weigh in is not for another 11 days so I'm all about sticking to my plan of eating mindfully and well and exercising with purpose.

On a wonderful note, we went to a potluck on Saturday and I recieved tons of compliments on the new trim me and it felt wonderful! I know that in the end we're doing all this work for ourselves but it feels so nice to get external validation!!

Cheers people!

FullSteamAhead 06-04-2007 01:14 PM

goodmorning ladies

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I feel it went by soooooo fast. Planwise, mine was ok but not great. Yesterday, I started not feeling well again and didn't do anything! rest! Guess that bugger cold is still in me but it's on its way out now. Perhaps I am a bit discouraged because I didn't feel well enough to ex. again yesterday but hey, no sense in stressing over it now. IT's history! TOday is a new day and quite frankly ladies, I am happy it's monday as I have my plan in place for the course of the week. I have fish planned for this evening and will be having fish several times this week. I just love what it does for m e! I will be sure to drink plenty of water, etc. Basically, it's my original plan with a re affirmation of restrcited carbs as I slacked in that dept. last week. I am determined!!! I don't keep a journal but take mental notes all the time and I could see that I was starting to slip away from my plan more (etra carbs, etc) and that pissed me off. lol good! It works for me, because i take that anger and it fuels my determination and diligence. okay, I am going off on all kinds of tangents again, hahahh : ) Thanks for listening to my rant ladies.

hi shelby :) I put away the scale too, it helps me avoid the temptation of going on it more frequently than I wish. Weighing in too frequently never worked well for me, never!!!!! As a matter of fact, I would go as far as to say that all the times I have been successful were and are the times I dont weigh in too much. In the past when I weighed in daily, I would get extremely frustrated and discouraged. My ideal weigh-ins seem to be 1x per week. We are all different though and I know some people prefer to weigh in on a frequent basis whilst others may do a 1x per month deal, whatever works best for each and everyone one of us is what matters. I have just found that 1x per week seems to be my magic number (though I am stretching it out a bit this month). Speaking of magic, I wish I had a magic wand sometimes! lol, don't we all! You know what though? We are going to make that magic happen! :)

giovanni, :carrot: on the 1lb. so far this month!

sockmonkey : ) kudos to you girl, making such a healthy choice while eating out and at a buffet style restaurant no less!

mascara, good luck hon. keep us posted.

pinkbunny, welcome aboard and congrats on the 8lb. loss thus far :)

pigginpodgey, it sounds like (from your posts) that your bod fluctuates a lot, as mine has always done. Hang in there girl, it sounds like a fluid retention of sorts.

Lehikaaaaaaaa, a gloomy monday indeed girl! I'm in mass and we are having that storm passing over us too! Sorry to hear of your cold and wish you and the kids a speedy recovery. There are some darn nasty viruses floating around out there! Lekhika, I didn't work out practically all last week, I just couldn't! god, whatyou said about being so afraid of stopping or losing momentum.........I hear you 100 percent. It scared the dickens out of me and i was upset at losing my drill , if you will. I suggest resting up and trying not to worry about the ex. toomuch right now so that you can get better, as frustrating as that may be. I am getting back to it (though it does feel harder as i missed so much time) but when that determination is there you start again because you make yourself start. Somehow, I feel it is that very fear which shows the diligence and is an indicator that you wont have a problem starting or doing your workouts again if you need to take some time off due to not feeling well or whatever else it may be so take care to get better first girl. speaking of which, I feel well enough to do my workouts today and need a darn good extra push, would you do me a big favor and give me a good kick in the butt? hahahhaa :) okayyyyyyy, I am logging off and getting a move on.

oh by the way, we started (or continued rather) an exercise thread for the month of june, so if anyone is interested, just take a peak over there and check it out. It's been a great way for me to hold myself accountable and to journal my workouts online and then print up my schedule at the end of the month for my records.

okay my ladies, I wish you all a super and successful monday! a new day! LEt's keep on truckin.
