Hi all!

I'm down for this challange as well! I joined the Vacation Challange as well and my mini goal is 15 pounds lost by July 15th BUT, I would love to get a huge jump start on that by losing 8-10 pounds this month.

In all seriousness, i would be perfectly happy with a modest 5-6 pounds too! That finally puts me at the weight I was before I became pregnant with my daughter nearly 5 years ago!!

So I've been focusing mainly on cardio, putting in at least45-50 minutes daily. Sometimes all in one session, sometimes in two sessions, first for 35 minutes and the next 10-15 in the evening before bedtime. Obviously the more intense workout is in the morning and the evening is like a take the tension away workout...

Here we go! I'm looking forward to losing with you guys!!

May Challange:
5/1: 141
5/8:
5/15
5/22
5/28

I ate out twice today UUGGHHH. Once for lunch at a Chinese Buffet, which could have been a TOTAL disaster. Fortunately, they had lots of veggies so I ate some broccoli, snap beans, mushrooms, and a little bit of spicy chicken, and had my guilty pleasure cream cheese puffs. Then for supper I ate some popcorn shrimp from Popeyes.

Didn't go over 2000 calories today, but I just feel so icky after eating all that Popeyes grease. I guess it's good that it made me sick though. I will definately think twice next time.

On the bright side, I got in 45 minutes of cardio today Wooohooo. Now I just need to find the time to work my abs and arms back into the workout rotation.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hello my dear ladies,

I am sorry to be posting in so late, it was one of those days! Just pain in the butt stuff like pc issues and other issues, aside from that, the plan has been going great foodwise! You know something? I missed you guys already how nice it is to come and read the p osts! I decided to take the day off from exercise today which of course means having to do my workouts tomorrow numero uno! I didn't cook the omelettes tonight as planned, I wasn't up to cooking and got rather busy with some things around here but I had some fish left over from last night and had that, so it worked out great. I love it, I always feel so good when I eat the fish (last night I had it with string beans), it makes me feel light and just does wonders. Those once not long ago tight white jeans are already getting loose! amazing! I missed my workout today, I really did, it just makes me feel so much better. Okay, enough about me! I was so happy to come in and read your news ladies.

FIrst of all, welcome aboard to those of you who just joined in how n ice! Mindimo, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! : ) h ow exciting! Lekhika, welcome as well! I think it's super your doing the cardio, my main exercise regime is composed of cardio and it really has helped me tremendously! Nice to have you join us ladies : )

Rayyyyyyy, I am so proud of you! high five sweety! I love how you said you got a taste of " breaking that chain baby "...........yessssssss : ) and each and every time you break that chain, it will get easier to do so! way to go ray! : )

mygirlsmommy, that's great! way to go! speaking of sandwich, I could go for one now! hahaha no no no, I wont! I have a golden rule, I never eat dinner after 7:30 and usually eat anywhere between 6-7. Keep up the awesome work .

giovanni, sure feels good when those pants start falling down! lol pulling up one's pants sure beats having to undo a button! lol : ) As for the diet or health regime, I am following my own plan. Oh, as far as asking about the fl. oz, good! : ) no question is stupid here, we are here to help each other......I am glad you asked.

jasonslea, cute emoticon : )

Lytricia, I smiled when I read your example of how a baby weighs 7lbs. 4 oz. of cuteness! lol : ) nice!

Greeneyez, good luck with quitting the smoking..........you did it before so you can do it again, I tell myself the same thing. I think your planned walks are an excellent idea! As far as counting and measuring go greeneyez, I pretty much feel the same way. I have a real good idea about cals though and make mental notes but when I am eating fish or chicken I don't worry too much about portion sizes. When it comes to beef or other things, I scope out the portion sizes and am careful with it. Whatever works for each and every one of us, that's what counts! : ) Is that your bike? are you a biker babe? : )

sockmonkey, bravo for doing so great at china buffet!!!!!!!! I would be proud for that. You made some great choices. I don't know what popeye's is but isn't it strange how when we get used to eating healthy, certain rich or fried foods have so much more of an impact after? IT's amazing. I really feel it now much moreso if I eat something of that nature, I also am much more sensitive to salty foods! IT's all good though girl and as you mentioned, certain things or foods of that nature being a negative reinforcer only aids or strengthens the healthy eating. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying to never enjoy certain things, I sure do and it's okay once in a while.....but I merely do not tolerate it as well as before. Also, since I have began eating healthy again, no more tummy troubles, indigestion, and all that other stuff. I feel soooooooooooo much better! Okayyyyy, I am rambling yet once again. In a nutshell, congrats! I think you did very well.

HOpe you all had a super day. I am starting to feel tired and should start getting ready for bed as I will most certainly need my energy for tomorrow. I loved reading all of your news and wow ladeis, let's keep it rockin" WIshing everyone a great and successful day tomorrow. NIght

seriously that 6 mile run was just an experiment, once I'd already got 3 miles away from the house i had no choice but to run the rest of the way back. I think I'll only do it once a week and stick to my 2 mile runs for the rest of the days.

Running outside is a totally wonderful and different experience....it totally kicks my butt!

I woke up a little early today and ran 4.36 miles (that includes my cool down) on the treadmill. I don't count the burned calories because frankly I don't trust the reading. Anywho...it's likely that I'm headed for sabotage because my husband came back from a business trip and brought Chili's southwestern eggrolls back for me...they are my one true absolute weekness.

*sigh*

Maybe I'll get back on the treadmill in the afternoon.

WOW !!!!!!!! We have runners here......this is terrific!!!!!! I ran this morning at 6:00 a.m........I still feel nervous about running alone but it sure was nice and now I don't have to worry about NOT being in the mood when I get home. THE JOB IS DONE!!!!!!!

Last night I broke the chain of visions of junk food all in my head and I DIDN'T BINGE. I just ate a big 'ol salad........tonight I'm going out to dinner and I will not be afraid..........I am going to eat with my head screwed on right!!!!! Check please!!!!!!

After reading everyone's log entries - we are doing really really well. Thanks for all the support....

My new mantra is a calm: "I want to weigh 140 pounds" "I will weigh 140" "I want to weigh 140 pounds" 8,000 times a day ..... it replaces the garbage thinking from before.

wow... i love that it is Friday May 4... Four days into the month and this challenge is HAPPENING! everyone is being very active with their posts and their support and i love it!

This month is going to be INSANE for me. My boss just told me i was being transferred to the Tulsa office, as in Tulsa Oklahoma and i have to move June 1. ::insert high levels of stress here:: so that's not a lot of time to wrap up things in the Dallas office, find a new place to live and move... add on to that i am getting my wisdom teeth pulled later this month.
WOW!

So good luck to everyone who has sat morning weigh-ins! let the fun begin

What I really love about running outside is that you can push yourself to your limit and it doesn't end there....the run or walk back is bonus work! I just wish it weren't so hard on the knees. *ouch*

Ray of Light
I am definately not a runner, I try. Most of the time I wind up running half the time and doing a brisk march type walk the rest.

And my big problem is not dinner, I've been doing the 5pm cut off for quite a bit now and the late night eating isn't an issue.

Plus, like you, I love exercising in the morning, it totally revvs me up for the day.

nosnah1011
Hope your shift in jobs isn't too stressful.
Fortunately I don't have weekend weigh ins. I'm going to do my weigh ins on Tuesdays. If it were up to me I'd rather do the weigh ins bi-weekly so as to prevent the frustration if the scale doesn't budge.

hi there everyone

Happy Friday and happy weekend! HOpe you all had a great day and from the sounds of it, everyone is truckin! I had a super day today. My mom came over and we spent 2 hours in the sun! It felt so good, I slathered myself in my hawaiin tropic coconut oil and boy was that ever nice! It was only 65 degrees and quite windy but in front of the house, the sun felt beautiful! After, we all went for a walk along the route and then to Aculpolco's restaurant. It was nice to see the owners again, they had just gotten back from a 2 month vaca. in mexico and suprised us with these really cool t-shirts as tomorrow is cinco de mayo! I got the chicken fajitas, only had 1 and also a few extra peices of chicken on the side (only 1 tortilla). I surpassed the chips, rice and beans. I never eat the rice and beans anymore, maybe 2 bites tops! I did have a few margaritas though, are you kidding? me go to Aculpolcos and not get their margaritas? lol That's why I limit going there but i do enjoy it and I must say, their fajitas are not salty or soy sauce based such as chile's for example! It's been a great week, fish last night and the previous night. I am not sure what I am doing for dinner tomorrw night but its going to be light and healthy and sunday night will be fish night.....my usual sunday night dinner before weigh in day.

Congrats to you girls on the running! I am not a runner but a brisk walker and I just love being outdoors that way, it is so invogorating!

Lehika, I know about those southwestern eggrolls at chile's lol! THey were always my fav appetizer there! I havn't had them in a long time as I get full a lot easier now and save my appetite for dinner but boy oh boy, are those good! I sure can see why they are your weakness. Last I had them though, they were a little hot.......are they making them hotter now? or was it just a fluke perhaps? ohhhhh, I forgot to tell you guys. My mom got me a beach sticker! oh yeah! As soon as it gets warm enough, I can hit and go for a longgggggg walk in one of my favorite places! Crane's beach! Soft white sand and miles long! wow, I have dreaming of it all winter! If your not a resident, you have to pay about 20 bucks to get in every time, I rig the sticker! hahahaha I use goo be gone to wipe out the old license plate and then add my license plate with black marker! lolol : ) Oh well, I was born and lived there for years!

Rayyyy, congratulations yet once again on a super night! high five girl.........your really rocking! keep up the awesome work!

nosnah, I knowwww, it's going by fast isn't it? I can't beleive it's Friday already. Madi is in oklahoma! Maddddddddd, where are you girl? Sure am missing you, come out and say hi. Nosnah, if you come this way in summer and have time, give me a buzz, Maybe we can hit the beach together. Oh, as far as your widsom teeth go, wow. I was petrified of having them pulled (years ago) and I put it off for so long! You wont feel a thing! lol. You wont even remember it! They had to put me in a bumper room after, I could hardly walk, I was so high! lol I was soooooo scared of doing something stupid! My dh told me how when he had his teeth pulled he was howling at the nurses as they rolled him down the hall. I was like what? goddddd! hahaha! ANyways, it's no big deal and you will be relieved after. The apprehension prior to having it done is the worst of all, the actual process is nothing! Good luck on the move, I am sure you will pull it together : )

AMy, how are you doing? pigginpodgey should be back from vaca any time I think. I am eager to hear from you girls.

Kittykat, how's it going? Ladies,,,,,,,,,,,, let's rock! We are already 4 days into the month but yet, we still have the whole month! Imagine the difference we can make by then! Let's kick butt my freinds! : ) I guess that is all my news for now, it was great to come in and read everyones posts, as always! Tomorrow, my exercise takes priority and then I really must catch up with some house stuff. Have a great weekend everyone, let's keep it going : ) ciao for now, Sia

Hi Everyone,
I'm really late today. Yes, that is my bike....I am a biker. We bought our bikes last Fall. In the morning we are taking a 100 mile bike trip to raise money for a girl with cancer. It will be our first ride in a group.
I did smoke today, but vow to not smoke tomorrow - I'll be busy biking. I did buy new walking shoes ($110). I took two 30 minute walks today, and I can actually say that I enjoyed it - that's a first. My man ate on his way home, and it was late. I wound up with fied hadddock and french fries from a take-out place. Now my belly is grumpy! That will teach me.

Tomorrow is a new day.....it will be better. I'll check in tomorrow.

Keep on track!

Hey all!! well after my awsome work out on monday, i went to the gym on tuesday and did 20 mins on the eliptical and had 10 mins in the hot tub. (no they dont have a pool, but my in laws do and we're opening it soon!!) Anyway..stupid me had a sore shoulder but i pushed it anyway, which led to my husband having to take WEDNESDAY off of work because the kids had dr's appts and I couldnt even move the right side of my back/neck/shoulder enough to put my hair in an elastic!! So I've been laid up all week. Trying to watch what Im eating. The scale says 235 this morning though!! woohoo
The pediatrician/specialist we took the baby to says that kids under 6 dont have sinuses, so the antibiotics that josh has been on since he was born arent doing him anygood. He has a narrow nasal passage and unfortunately will be like this until he is about 9 months old!! The antibiotics that my family dr gave him were doing more harm than good. ***God give me patience!!**

I'm so sorry about your little guy. And hope that you can figure something out.
Great about keeping up your workouts. I have knee pain in my right knee and I constantly have to remind myself not to push it if it hurts....HOpe you feel better soon. And Woo on the weigh in!

Greeneyz

Quitting smoking is tough, coming from an ex smoker here. I quit 5 years ago and have been feeling better every year. It's tough but once you're through with it, you'll feel like a new person!

Go with the walking!!

FullSteamAhead

Sounds like you're eating very healthfully! Good for you. When I get in my work out mode, I tend to slip into very controlled food intake and it scares me. Fortunately I have kids so I have to eat with them otherwise I would go down this horrid not eating and exercising like crazy downward spiral!

I love margaritas too but quit drinking along with smoking, each worked like a trigger for the other....sigh, I miss whiskey sours and margaritas THE MOST!

As for me, it was a gorgeous morning so I went for a run/march....about three miles. And it was awesome! I'm debating whether tomorrow is goign to be my rest day or whether I'm going to work out tomorrow as well. Hm.

Ok people!! I am DYING to step on a scale and made my husband promise to hide the scale so I wouldn't be tempted. I almost got the darn thing out of my closet this morning while I was brushing my teeth. But the baby started crying and that saved me.

Tuesday morning is only two days away.

Later taters

Hello everyone Just wanted to let you all know that I met the challenge of 1000 minutes of excercise (barely, but I did) for April. I only lost the two pounds though. I kept telling myself that muscle weighs more than fat and I will continue to excercise. I will join you all this month again and will commit to another 1000 minutes and my daughter has also began excercising this month as well. I REALLY want to lose the weight though and hope this month that it will happen. I too will weigh in on Mondays only. I tend to weigh myself everyday so I kinda keep track of my eating. I will try to stop this and do it once a month only. Good Luck to everyone and have a HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO.....

jellybeanz: congrats on your loss!!! even small victories are a victory.. but more importantly i hope everything works out for Josh... that's really tough what your going through. i'm sure you are handling it better than most, you seem like a really strong person...

giovanni: 2 lbs! rock on, what a great start... and aren't we all ready to be losers? i liked that little quote

lekhika: that is awesome that your husband hid the scale! i tried that, but it doesn't work so well since i'm the one that does the hiding...

beautiful4me: congrats on the exercise challenge!!! more important than what the scale says is your health... and you accomplished your health goals and your commitment to yourself!

fullsteam: I don't know when exactly i'll be back in Massachusetts... especially since this whole moving thing got thrown at me... but i would love a beach day! this may be a surprise but there are no beaches in Oklahoma... ha
and yea my wisdom teeth are half in and causing my jaw to misalign and i can't close my mouth and it hurts, so i don't even care how much the procedure hurts they need to get out of my face as soon as possible, lol

Other than that, i went to my first yoga class yesterday in weeks, cause of my leg and vacation i hadn't had time.. and it felt great! they are doing this little challenge were you commit to go so many times a week and then you get a sticker... i like stickers... i'm easily motivated sometimes

workwise, looks like i'll be leaving the Big D and headin north to Tulsa the week of June 4!
