You're all doing great, girls!!

I got on the bike for 25 minutes last night. I meant to only do 20, but I knew I wasn't going to get all my steps in for the day on my pedometer. So I did an extra five, the entire time muttering, "I hate this, I hate this."
My steps for the day were 6629.

I'm doing well so far! Although, it looks like I'm going to have to take an unanticipated rest day tomorrow. I'm giving blood this afternoon, and I understand that working out is not recommended for at least 24 hours. I hate to miss a weekday, but I'll try to remember that my AB+ may be of greater benefit to somebody than just one hour of exercise is to me!

Anyway, here's how it looks so far:
March 1 -- 55 minutes functional fitness (TLT workout)
March 2 -- 60 minutes step aerobics
March 3 -- 50 minutes weight work w/aerobic intervals
March 4 -- 85 minutes (72 step/hi-low, 13 stretch)
March 5 -- intentional rest day
March 6 -- 54 minutes hi-low aerobics (48) and abs (6)
March 7 -- 60 minutes The Firm vol. 1

Everybody keep up the good work!

Can't tell you how many minutes of whatever exercise I've spent uttering that exact same phrase!

Great job, folks, let's keep it up. We're already nearly a quarter of the way through March!

Hit my marks yesterday, after having thoroughly enjoyed a Super Slacker weekend. Can you believe that even if you combined Saturday and Sunday, I still didn't crack 4,000 steps? Did better yesterday, thank goodness.

Today, though, could prove to be an issue. As I was finishing my strength for today and getting ready to do my leg presses, the cord snapped. My brand new home gym is now worthless until I can get someone out here to fix it. ((cry)) I have a call into them right now.

If they can't get out here today or tomorrow, my whole strength training program is in jeopardy. I have a few bands and dumbbells, so I can do *something* but it won't be the same intensity. My highest dumbbell is only 12lb.

I'm scared...

UPDATE:

The repair firm called back not 15 minutes after I made that post. He had a tech who had a hole in his schedule for the afternoon, so he plugged me in the hole! Cable fixed (and all others checked to be sure) and we're back in business.

((Whew))

Lena, thank goodness! What a nightmare! Typical, eh? You just get started on some program and either your machine breaks, or you get bronchitis or some damned thing. I always think I'm going to develop cancer every time I start a new exercise program.

Believe me, I can believe it. I remember one night a few years ago... going to bed with about 480 steps on my pedometer.

DancingAngel, good for you giving blood!

I just got back from my exercise class. 30 minutes. I'm alarmingly short on steps, though. Somehow I've got to rack up another 4000 before midnight...
Oh, and I've lost another 2 pounds! I think I may put my weight tracker back next week if all continues to go well.

2 more pounds gone for you, Ellis! That's fantastic!

DancingAngel, you truly are an angel for giving blood. Thank you so much!

And, plb@m, wow, 100 crunches? In one day????? Eep! My belly aches just thinking about that! Huff, puff! Way to go!

Default Tuesday Exercise

Ellis - Good job on the extra five minutes; I know the feeling. I get to where I want to quit but I just keep reminding myself that I just can't stop before I've at least reached last workout's time or step number.

Lena - That's really lucky that he could fix your machine same day! Thank goodness! And Ellis is right, every time I have started a new exercise regime I catch a cold (or fall in the tub and bust my tailbone - ouch!). It happened this time, too, I got sick and didn't exercise for a whole week, but about that time I joined here and was able to get back to it and keep going.

Which reminds me, thank you so much to everyone here for being so inspiring and supportive! You are all the best!

Anyway... Tuesday:
AM stretch, crunches, 1.5 mile walk in da 'hood
PM stretch, upper body weights

I may have actually done too much yesterday, though I'm not feeling it as badly today as I did last night. I stressed my back a little. It wound up being about 3 hours total of exercise...

AM stretches, crunches, 10 lb dumbbells; 2 mile walk on campus with a friend; PM stretches, 30 min on elliptical.

I was so wiped out that I almost didn't do the elliptical, but I knew the walk hadn't really burned enough calories (it was a moderate walk, but not brisk by any means).

We'll see what happens today, I'm cleaning the house before the mother in law arrives!

Happy Thursday everyone!
-Lala

PS: OH, yeah! I am down another pound since yesterday as well, so the ticker should say 267....

I haven't done all my exercise yet today .I still need to do 30mins on the elliptical , but I'll get to it later. I'm having one of them days that I could eat everything and anything. I've been fighting it and drinking alot of water hope it works.

I hope you girls all have a great day!

Was so busy yesterday I didn't have much time to read or update!

PLB, I hear you -- I haven't gotten my rear in gear yet today, either. Hoping... no, PLANNING... to treadmill tonight during American Idol.

Lala, you were just go go go!!!! You're a dynamo, you are! Congrats on the one pound down, too!

Donna, sounds like you had a great time at the gym! Did you get back there today again?

Fishwoman, with all the walking you're doing, I'll bet you've crossed the entire state of Maryland and back again! Good going!

As for me, I had a great day of activity yesterday! Did my usual daily strength and cardio (40 minutes on treadmill), then did an additional 20 minutes on treadmill and a 20 minute walk outdoors. Played 3 sessions of very aggressive (but friendly) ping-pong with my son, totally about 1 hour 15 minutes. Ended up having my highest total ever on steps-for-the-day... 16,686!

I doubt today will come even close to yesterday, but yesterday sure was fun! As I said, I haven't gotten into gear yet -- let's see what tonight brings!

Have a fantastic rest of the day, ladies!
