  • Hello again to Dancing Angel, Ellis, and anyone new who is joining us! I am back from my cruise, and gained only 1 pound I haven't bumped my ticker up yet; I am hoping by next tuesday it will be gone

    So, I did a ton of walking while I was away. My husband and I did speed walking around the main deck almost every day, and we tried to always take the stairs rather than the elevator.

    I brought my joy of yoga dvd with me, but only did it once, because I didn't bring my mat and kept slipping on the carpet in our suite. I did the elliptical several days, and ran 3 miles on the treadmill one day.

    On Thursday, the 12th, we stopped at Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and I climbed Dunn's River Falls. Oh my gosh, it was SO MUCH FUN!!! We took pix with a disposable waterproof camera. If I can figure out how to scan some of them into the internet, I will show you guys. If you want to see any other pix, go to my husband's website (www.fishstang.com) and click on "cruise '06." (Moderators - If I shouldn't have put his website up, let me know and I will edit this post) There aren't too many there, we sort of suck at picture taking!

    I haven't worked out the past two days, but plan on getting back into the swing of things today!

  • Welcome back, FishWoman! I'm soooooo jealous... It sounds like you had a blast. And if you went on a cruise and only gained 1 pound, you deserve a medal! Good going. I'm sure it's hard to get back to reality! It's good to see you back here.

    This morning I did a 48 minute cardio dance DVD -- I am absolutely hooked on this one! Christi Taylor's Totally Hot Cardio. I love it so much I just ordered her new Cardio Collectibles. The DVD has a 6 minue bonus ab routine, so I did that as well. Today's total was 54 minutes.

  • Hello! I finally managed to get to the gym last night - over 10 minutes each way of walking just to get there, and then 30 minutes on the elliptical.

    We moved offices over last week and I thought the K street gym would be closer than the Conn. Ave. gym - i think i was wrong

  • Just did a one hour walk... more than I've done in awhile.
  • Yes, it's Friday! This morning I did 58 minutes of step aerobics. I tripped over myself somehow doing a backwards shuffle around the step and landed right on my tailbone! Ouch.... I did complete the workout. I'm sore, and squats will be a challenge until the soreness goes away. So, this morning I wasn't full of grace! But it probably could have been worse, so I'm thankful.

  • I've had a real "workout" today... moving our daughter's "room" from the third floor to the first. Phew! We spent a good three hours moving furniture, and I am WACKED!!!
  • I ended up not working out Friday. Somehow when I am at work without a break from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., the workout gets pushed aside .

    I did yoga on Saturday - I can tell I need to get back into it, I was very stiff most of the way through. Sunday I did my elliptical for 40 minutes.

    I am going up to New York (Long Island) on business this afternoon. The hotel allegedly has a fitness center. I hope so, because I don't think it would be safe to go running in a strange neighborhood after dark. Even if it doesn't, I can probably remember enough yoga moves to cobble together a 30 minutes routine.

    Just had a GREAT walk. 90 minutes over snow and ice covered sidewalks. Talk about a workout!
  • Hi! Well, I still have a sore butt from my misadventure with my step on Friday, but it's better and, most importantly, I'm still able to do my workouts. I was a bit concerned about that for awhile as I was in quite a bit of pain Friday evening! Needless to say, I'm trying to watch my footing a little better.

    Saturday I stuck with low impact (Cathe) step aerobics -- 40 minutes and toning -- 27 minutes for a total of 67 minutes. Sunday it was 40 minutes of dance aerobics. And this morning was Miss Cathe again -- mixed impact -- for 54 minutes and 6 minutes of abs for 60 minutes. And here is my January:
