Hey, y'all! Fishwoman, thanks for the sunny vibes. I love that Crunch Pilates DVD!
We got the furnace running (thank God), but will need to replace it soon. Well, I guess we have to spend our money on something, huh? Our furnace is older than our kids, and they are old enough to vote, so I guess it's time. It's still in the single digits, and more snow is expected - ya gotta love the midwest!
This morning I did The Firm Calorie Killer (42 minutes) and a Cathe stretch routine (13 minutes) -- total 55 minutes.
My church Christmas pageant starts tonight, the first of 14 presentations. I'm playing the meanest woman in Bethlehem -- it's a comic relief part and all kinds of fun. So you can send me "break a leg" vibes for the next couple of weeks!
Ok I subscribed to this thread to get motivated and it worked. I got up at 4 am this morning and actually did a WATP I had planned to fit one of those Pilates DVDs in; but the baby got up and it is almost impossible to do those crunches with the dog and baby on your chest. If I am on the floor it is to play with them or I have fallen and can't get up! I couldn't wait to get home and post that I worked out and not just read about everyone else working out!
What are your favorite workout videos. I am going to reward myself every 5-10 lbs with a new workout something or other. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Made it to the gym during lunch today - 45 minutes on the elliptical.
Missy - I think Dancing Angel is definitely the one to recommend workouts I have only a few so far. I do really like the crunch pilates, it is about 30 minutes of low impact cardio and then 15 of matwork (mostly abs). I also have one called the NYC Ballet workout. It is an hour long, very low impact, and uses actual ballet moves. It is great when I really want to stretch and balance. I have one yoga dvd by Sara Ivanhoe, who I think is an amazing instructor - I have ordered a few more by her to test before I buy any.
Hello! Brrrrrrr -- is winter almost over?? Oh wait, it hasn't even started yet!! Bummer...
Well, Missy, I have a bunch of videos, 'tis true. You might try checking them out from your local library to see what you like. Just make sure you choose the ones suited to your fitness level. And be aware -- if you do them consistantly, your fitness level will improve! Be sure to include cardio workouts as well as toning workouts (weights, Pilates, ball) and flexibility (yoga/stretch). Start at the library -- you'll find what you like and then can shop till you drop!! I love getting and using new workouts.
So, this morning I'm super exhausted (Christmas pageant program last night). But I still dragged myself out of bed and worked out. I did the 15-minute "Dance off the Inches" and Crunch Boot Camp Training (30 minutes) for a total of 45 minutes.
More pageant tonight! But I can sleep in Saturday...
I lifted weights and ran today. I did hills on the treadmill for three miles. It is way too cold to run outside! (Actually, it wouldn't be too cold if I had proper clothes, but shorts and a yoga top dictate inside running.)
Happy Friday! Big weekend for me -- 5 pageant presentations starting tonight through Sunday. It's going really well, although I sure could use some more sleep!
This morning I did Cathe's Body Fusion -- 50 minutes.
Don't start your weekend until you break a good sweat!!!
Wow, guys - you are putting me to shame around here. I have been skipping workouts just as much as I have been going. I don't know if it is the cold or lack of sleep. I haven't been sleeping well, we got a new dog and he likes to sleep with us. I am sure I will adjust soon.
I had to be to work early and we got 6+ inches of snow yesterday. I got to the gym a little late and left a little early. BUT AT LEAST I WENT!
I think I am going to try the library. As I dug through old videos, I found some of my Tae Bo and some old work out videos they were even wearing leg warmers. Does anyone have the Richard Simmons? How good are they? I like 70s music and oldies and seen a lot of them at the goodwill store. Thought about picking them up.
Going to my husbands Christmas Party tonight and we both love to dance. Maybe that will help me work off some weight before weigh in tomorrow
Hi friends,
I have only a second because I have a 7 week old baby to tend to! He's awesome. My third boy! Their ages are 10, 8 and 7 weeks!
I'd love to join in. I'm a runner and trying to get back into it. I have a bad cold so I can't run today, but did run 3 miles 3 times last week.
My goal for this upcoming week.
Monday - run 30 min
Tues. - run 30 min.
Wed. - pilates class (never took one.)
Thurs. - run 30 min.
Friday - chase my own children around!!
Happy to be here. I have 15 baby pounds to lose, but after having a c-section I know I must be patient,
Love to you all,
Gracegirl
I appreciate the welcome! I feel so much better when held accoutable instead of keeping all my thoughts in my head. (ex. when to eat, what not to eat, etc.)
My goal for the rest of the day is to remain abstinent until suppertime. I had soup and crackers for lunch. That's all I can muster up.
Hope this cold ends soon! Can't wait to put on my running shoes and hit the pavement!
Love,
Gracegirl
