Brr, it is a freezy-cold Monday morning! I am huddled in my office with the heater on, dreading the 2 block walk to the gym later today!
I didn't work out Friday, my tummy was very upset and I didn't think that cardio would be such a good idea I was feeling better this weekend though Saturday I did 35 minutes of yoga and 30 on the elliptical, and then Sunday I did a 40 minute yoga dvd.
Hi! It's Monday, and where did the weekend go? Oh, yes -- I was singing and acting my heart out all weekend in the church Christmas pageant. We are halfway done -- off tonight and tomorrow, then Wed thru Sun we'll do 7 more! Somewhere I'll find the energy.
I won't steal it from my workouts! I've been good. For the weekend and today I did the following:
Saturday -- The Firm Crosstrainer = 58 minutes
Sunday -- Kari Anderson Push/ I did the step routine = 35 minutes
AND QuickFix Lower Body routine = 10 minutes
Monday -- The Firm Fat Blaster = 45 minutes
Missy, you mentioned Richard Simmons. His workouts are quite good, and he is lots of fun. It's kind of a beginner level, but you can easily "pump it up" quite a bit if you are at a higher level. I know he has some brand new DVDs coming out in 2006. If you can find them, try Sweatin' to the Oldies 2 and 3, Sweat & Shout and Disco Sweat. They are 50 - 55 minutes each of low impact and some toning/ab work as well.
Well I didn't exercise at all this weekend. My cousin drown in a boating accident and I spent the weekend on the lake waiting. I hate emotional eating. My head says to stop but I catch myself doing it with out even knowing it.
DancingAngel. I think I am going to get the Richard Simmons. I love dancing and times seem to fly when I do it. I think it would be just the thing to lift my spirits.
DancingAngel,,wow 190 lbs is fantastic. Please tell me there is a place I can read of your journey.
Ellis and Gracegirl thank you for the welcome.
The weather here has been fantastic but suppose to change..explains the headache/migraine
I have a gazelle which is my main exercise...which Ive not been doing much of,,,we are in the midst of renovations,,,can priming a room twice be called a workout? I will be painting tomorrow too if so...lol I have a total gym,,which Im looking forward to setting up again.
well off to bed I go...
Missy, I'm so very sorry about your cousin. The dancing is a great idea... keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Angie, I feel for you doing renovations. We did our kitchen last year, and it took FOREVER!!
It's -19C here in Ottawa. I know it'll get colder than this, but I'm staying indoors today.
Hello! It's so encouraging to see so many posting!
Missy, I'm sorry about your cousin. It's so easy to eat at such a stressful time! Dancing will help.
Angie, my 190 pound journey is not recorded anywhere. I had my stomach stapled back in 1986, lost 50 pounds and had a baby in 1987. I maintained a weight of around 250 until around 10 years ago and then finally got serious and got the weight off. I arrived at goal around 1998 and have been here since, and I work hard to stay here! Even with the surgery, I could easily regain weight if I weren't careful. And that's why I get up at 4:30 every morning to work out! Believe me, it's worth it. I LOVE being healthy.
This morning I did Karen Voight's Ultimate Step Circuit workout for 56 minutes.
Missy, I am so sorry about your cousin. My thoughts are with you. I agree with the others that dancing will help lift your spirits.
I just got back from the gym. Nothing is going on at work today, so I took a long lunch break - 15 minutes of weights and then I ran 4 miles on the treadmill in 40:30.
Happy Wednesday! It's the middle of the week, and back to the killer schedule for me. After 2 evenings off, which I really enjoyed, our pageant resumes tonight. 7 more performances between now and Sunday evening. As well as my full-time job, not to mention tending to my family! Not much time to think, only to do. However, I must say the pageant is great fun, though it is exhausting. I play a villainous character, and it's fun to act like a stinker!
This morning I decided to be brave and try my Christi Taylor Totally Hot Cardio workout. It has quite complex choreography, so I stuck with mostly the low impact moves just so I could get it. There were still some bits that I didn't quite get the feel of, but I got most of it and was able to add some of the higher impact moves. I got worked up a wonderful sweat and it was a fun and fast way to spend 48 minutes. I will definitely tackle it again soon.
Hello -- I'm tired and weary, but pumped. The pageant is going well, and my co-workers came to last night's performance. That was so sweet of them, and it meant a lot to me! 4 days and 6 performances to go -- I think I see a dim light at the end of the tunnel. I know there will be a let-down when it's over! But there will also be some sleep, and that sounds pretty good right now!!
FishWoman, I'm all of 5'1". Just a shorty!! Just remember, dynamite comes in small packages.
This morning I dragged myself out of a warm bed and did Crunch Burn and Firm Pilates -- 47 minutes. Lots of stretching, which felt good, with some nice cardio as well!
All right -- it's on with the day! May yours be healthy, happy and sweaty.
