I was at a friends last night and they have mountains of chocolate, jellies and crisps and I refused to even eat one jelly. I'd call that winning.

Welcome Ginger Eclectus, it's great that you found us and that you now know that you are not alone in this - that's a great step to recovery

My eating has been going really well for a few days and the scale is moving downwards which is great- I'm keeping up the exercise which is a great stress reliever for me and helps prevent binges

Hi everybody! Keeping strong here, getting to the end of my maintenance period and ready to lose the last pounds. Quite a challenge! As to bingeing, I am doing ok, maybe a little less methodical in my eating, but quite ready to set things right as from September 1. Just five days to go and we beat August!

I binged horribly the last few days. I feel awful, just needed to get it off my chest.

KittyKatFan After two months, I gave in last week and have the worst binge I've probably ever had. I ate so much junk that I felt so sick! But here is too September Good luck with the last couple of days.

raspberry Accept what you did and move on is the best advice I can give you. Don't dwell on it, just move forward. We are all going to make some mistakes along the way and have some bad days and that is fine. Tomorrow is another day

I've been doing great since I binged last week. Ready for September to start over and make it a binge free month. I know I can do it.

every weekday in August I ate really well except I think I ate too little like 1200-1300 I will make sure I get 1450-1600, I was probably undereating during the week a bit and for the first 3 weekends I binged, but with every slip up I noticed what was going wrong and bam last weekend goes by no binge eating

I didn't stay binge free this month, I tried but I did make so much progress.
I lost about 3-4 pounds this month but more than that I learned a lot every time I slipped up that will prevent me from binging in the future. The great thing is I don't punish myself for it and I don't fantasize (lol) get excited or plan binges anymore, I'm starting not to want them but sometimes it still happens because I don't want a binge food for pleasure just out of pain but I am allowing pain into my life now rather than just blocking it out with food as a comforter and distraction.

I am excited about next month I want my mantra to be "just say no". I enjoyed getting a magazine for myself instead of a indulgent food so I will do that every friday next month, I bought a few more herbal teas, and did my nails.. all things I enjoy in front of the tv on a weekend night now instead of sweets.

raspberry- I hope you get feeling better!

Inglesita- I was starting to wonder where you had gone! Its good to see you back

swissy- Improvement is ALWAYS a good thing, so good job on that.

Dreamer- I know you can do it too! believing in yourself is the first step, right? haha I make my dance students do pushups if they say the word "Can't". They have to tell me that "Theyre still working on it." Totally important to believe in yourself- I think.

Jalsa- exercise helps me so much too- I cant tell you how many times it has saved my butt from a massive binge.

Im hanging in here on day 5 and I am freaking proud of myself. My husband is out of town and has no cell service-- my mom called me crying with family drama yesterday, and work has been crazy- but I've stayed totally in control. I've actually allowed myself to squeese a few small treats in to my calorie allowance and havent gone overboard.. I think telling myself that yes, Im "allowed" to have peach cobbler at the family get togther... I dont rebel and eat the whole thing. So we'll see how long I can keep this up

It's great to see so many hanging in -it's not long now until the end of August

I'm going away for a few days so it will knock me off my regime - it's going to be difficult watching calories so I have to accept that I may overeat and not feel too bad about it - that's a different ball game from bingeing

swissy- the same happpenes to me and most of us i thin. if we eat too little for a certain period of time we end up binging. my calorie range is from 1500-1700 but i eat 1200-1500 sometimes under 1000, but i'm just not hungry and i don't want to force myself. but i don't exercise at all :/ i also started buying mags instead of cookies it became a habbit when i was in italy

danzigurl - that's a huge step. good job!

jalsa- yeah, sometimes there's a thin line between overeating and binging. just keep your head focused

***last night at work i met my friend coworker on the hall and she stopped and was surprised when she saw me, then she asked if i lost weight because i looked different, and that my face looks at least 5 years younger haha and that she can really notice i lost some weight and it really made my night. i can't believe how 8 pounds can be noticeable by others, i don't see any difference on me, but hope it starts noticing on my clothes soon!

I have been eating well Monday and Tuesday. It's past lunchtime now and I still am doing okay.
I started cooking more. Today for lunch I roasted some pumpkin and potatoes and it really filled me up.

I am going to go waterskiing on Sunday with one of roommates and a friend of his. I am really exciting about the skiing, but also a little afraid of running around in a swimsuit in front of them. I am ok going to the pool with my female friends, but those two are males.

I'm trying to make it through day 3 no bingeing. August has been a tough one, but I really want to finish out the month strong especially since school is starting soon and I want to have my head on straight. If I'm in binge mode it's like I can't function normally and am often times too sick from so much food. Once September comes around I am determined to have a good binge-free month!

Congrats to everyone for working so hard this month. I know it's a struggle, but we are all working towards taking better care of, and listening to our bodies.

Woo! Today makes 1 week binge free! I know it may not seem big but I feel like I've broken a barrier, like in my mind I'm feeling like if I can make it a whole week, I can do anything ;-)

The next few days WILL be tough, I'll be staying on a houseboat with my in-laws and they LOVE their food. But this 1 week mark has given my self-esteem a huge boost that I needed

Hi people! I have been having more trouble than usual keeping binge-free. I overate a couple of times, though I did not get completely out of control. Now I am on track again, but I need to acknowledge that maintaining is more difficult than losing. As the scale kept showing the numbrer I wanted, I started to eat some of the foods I liked, and then more and more, till I noticed I was eating for pleasure and without feeling hungry. Luckily I did not gain, but I need to remember that there are certain foods I cannot beat: sandwiches, donuts, trail mix, keep away from me! LOL
Back on track now, ready to lose my last six/seven pounds as from September and to get in full control again.
One more day to go!!!!
