Sandra & LaFayette: What is the Fat Fast?
WARNING: This method will not help you lose weight fast! Only try this if you are metabolically resistant.

The Fat Fast diet is structured especially for metabolically resistant people. It's designed to push your metabolism into ketosis. You will eat a 1000-calorie a day, 90% fat diet by dividing the food into small portions and eating them at different times of the day.

Try dividing 1000 calories into five 200-calorie portions.

SUGGESTIONS FOR 200-CALORIE PORTIONS ARE:

2 oz of sour cream, containing 1 tbs. of caviar, served on 3-4 pork rinds.
2 deviled egg halves, served not in the whites, but on pork rinds.
Graham Newbould's Pate for Royalty (2 oz.) served on the soya bread.
2 oz of chicken salad made with triple the usual amount of mayo (of ham salad, egg salad, shrimp salad.)
1 oz of the above in a half avocado
1 oz of macadamia nuts (or walnuts, or other nuts that fit the 90% fat criteria.
2.5 oz of whipped heavy cream, artificially sweetened, with ground vanilla beans
2 oz of cream cheese
Remember, you are not trying to eat a gourmet meal plan, but are trying to push yourself into ketosis.

Dare I mention the egg thing? LOL It works for me every time (three times now) throws the 'ol body RIGHT into ketosis ;)

Got my excercise routine back on track with my 3 miles a day and MAYBE just MAYBE I'll reach my St.Paddy's goal *fingers crossed*! If I can just stay away from the alcohol then I'll do awesome! I tried on about 7 dresses yesterday at Ross and am still just completely beside myself that MY BODY fits into a size 12. The very weird thing is that the smaller I am getting the fatter I feel. This is too strange. Happen to anyone else?

hockeyfan7 03-08-2006 05:21 PM

I have done the fat fast several times. My average is 8 lbs lost in the 3 days. But it's not easy to eat that stuff all day long.

Sherry, I love the bring the trainer to the neighborhood thing. That's certainly a different idea. I'm not sure I'd want to work out on the street though.

Brenda, that's interesting that your fat fast is different from the one I have in my book. My book says to eat the deviled eggs in the whites. It also calls for the heavy cream with sugar free maple syrup. It also has a chicken liver pate listed. Brie cheese is also an option on mine. I have an older book from about 5 years ago.

Sue, it wasn't me with the sister coming to visit. I don't have one.

My DH learned his cleaning skills after 14 years in the Army. He can clean the kitchen floor so well you'd be willing to eat off it. It's making him do it that is often the struggle. I think he's feeling a little guilty right now because he isn't working and I'm bringing in all the income. We'll see how long it lasts. Last night I got oven "fried" chicken (chicken breasts dipped in water and rolled in Parmesan cheese and sprayed with cooking oil and broiled) and asparagus. He's running a long list of errands for me today -- he got my car tires rotated, my prescriptions filled, took the cat to the vet, returned our extra kitchen tiles to Home Depot, etc. I'm liking this a lot!

:lol:I am the sister to come and be pampered by your DH !
Just let me know when to be there!1 I will work. Do you rent him out???

Well I made it through day one and didnt have any diet sodas at all. I think I am having some serious carb withdraws. I am really tired and I cant wait till I hit ketosis cause this is for the birds. I want my energy back.

Well yesterday we found out that a friend that me and my brother had grown up with and still talk to is going to be charged with rape. I just cant believe it. But I can say even after all the stress and crying I still didnt cheat.

Oh I forgot to mention that my interview last friday went very well and I talked to the lady who works in HR and she said that we will be moving foward, so I am not sure if that is a unconventional way of saying that I got the job or not, but that I should officially know by this week.

Ok I have got to get ready for work. Have a great day ladies and be safe and stay on track.

-Sandra

P.S. Where do I get my own little ticker for my weightloss?

Ok so I was reading about the fat fast and there is no way I could do that for even one day, so kudos to you ladies who survive it.

ILOVEMIK: WTG! you're doing great, just visit this forum often and keep all sweets out of the house, we're so proud of you!!

Gonna have a busy day today but wanted to drop in and tell everyone hello :) It's RAINING today, yippee!!

Lacey

lady_adnerb 03-09-2006 09:01 AM

Lacey: Is there a difference between the "egg thing" and the fat fast?? It's raining here as well. Better than snow!

Susan: the one I posted (fat fast) is actually what I copied and pasted from a search for it. It's different than what I'm doing, as well (except I've now added a few wal-nuts to mix things up :) ) I've not lost the amount you have on that. Wish I had!! I still think it's cool that your DH does that! It's awesome you two have it worked out :)

Sue:

Sandra: Sorry to hear about your friend. WTG on making it through a day w/out soda. I know it's SOOO hard to do that. Keep up the awesome work and before you know it you'll be back to energy. Good luck w/the job!

Well, I'm on day 5 of the fat fast. You know, I truly thought I'd lose more weight than I have. The scale is only showing a 3 pound loss. Nope, not complaining because it's at least SOMETHING but I thought it'd be at least 5 pounds for all this. Well, I'll be happy with what I've gotten. I'm hoping it truly HAS jump started the weight loss and I can continue to lose. I've gotten my water intake all in these days and now I just have to get the exercise in. Haven't done anything since I've shoveled the other day. Does talking count as exercise  My plan today is get at least 1 mile WATP in and do my laundry (that includes folding them).
I've also got to talk to the school bus garage manager. There's a kid that sits in the back of the bus (assigned seats) that is saying innapropriate stuff to kids (girls). But every time my daughter says something to the bus driver SHE is the one that gets moved to the front. Nope, not allowing THAT anymore. Time to go over her head to her boss. Did I mention I HATE conflict?? Oh well, it's gotta be done!!

Morgaine 03-09-2006 09:22 AM

Woohoo!

Doing the happy dance today! :carrot: :carrot:

I got to change my avatar to the 20 pound chick. W00t!

RobinW 03-09-2006 09:32 AM

Good Morning :rain:

Brenda~ sounds like you've back into the groove...you're doing great!!

Susan~ I think your hubby could make some serious $$ off us ladies!!! Maybe he could offer classes for our hubbies??? Mine did the dishes last night, and said...."Even with my very painful back I did the dishes" I told him to NOT go there and he better change the subject fast!! His back wasnt paining him....he was just making sure I noticed!!

Lacey~ :crossed: for your challenge goal! :carrot:

Sandra~ great job getting thru all that stress carb free!! Im proud of you :)

Its been pretty busy around here. Today I have to get some serious cleaning and laundry done....and try better to keep up on the mess!

I need to get back into the swing of things myself, get better organized.

Have a great day ladies.

Falon 03-09-2006 10:02 AM

Morning ladies:

Morgaine- Woo Hoo! Good for you! :carrot: I bet it felt good to change that.. Well deserved lady... :)

Robin - you and I have the same day planned. *sigh* I'll toast to you at the end of the day when i'm lounging with my iced tea. :D

Brenda - Congrats on the 3 pounds! That's great that you lost something. Maybe next time you do the fast, tell yourself you are hoping to loose at least 1 pound, so when you loose more you aren't the slightest bit disappointed. LOL

Lacey -

Susan - We live so close, I could just drive down there and pick him up!! *evil grin* I hope it doesn't wear off for ya, but yeah.. I could see the guilt thing. My husband is ex-army and the only thing he knows how to do (and trust me i'm not complaining) is put his dirty clothes in the basket! Anything else... nada! *where's my car keys...* :p

As for me.. poor Moose is still very sick. He got as high as 103.7 last night before bed, and was really freaking me out. I worked on a few methods to get it to go down (which it hovered over 101 all day) and managed to get it to 100.4 so we went to bed. This morning, it's 101.8 combined with a headache and sinus. I'll keep an eye on him and see if it climbs back up, we'll head to the doctors. I didn't walk yesterday of course, and surely won't today.. I don't know if I will the rest of the week, if this is the flu. If DH get's home early enough this afternoon I might.. otherwise i'll start all over again when he gets better. Poor little guy. I hate it when kids are sick. :(

His sister marches in the St. Patty's day parade on Saturday, and he really doesn't want to miss it, but this seems so much like the flu to me. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

 to you all! Have a better day than me...:^:

lady_adnerb 03-09-2006 12:58 PM

Morgaine: WTG on changing the chick! AWESOME on the weight loss! keep up the great work!!

Robin: If you figure out how to keep up on the mess let me know. But guess that means I've got to figure out how to CLEAN the mess first, eh? Yup, I need housecleaning lessons  (or a housekeeper??)

Falon: Sorry to hear about the wee one still being sick. I agree, having them sick is the WORST! Hope he feels better soon! My DD (and me) walk in our St. Patrick's Day Parade next Saturday. There's my exercise

Thinking of having something other than chicken salad tonight. 5 days of this is BONKERS! I want a STEAK  TOM is coming so is messing w/my head. I've had visions of candies and junk in my head. Shoot, right now I would settle for a salad and a piece of chicken (something that's not ground up and mixed w/mayo  ) . Did my 1 mile WATP tape today. Did a meeting w/the bus garage. Got the canisters for Youth Group pretty much ready. Now just have to get some laundry folded. So off I go to drink some water and fold some clothes.

SherryA 03-09-2006 03:05 PM

Robin, don't you know that if you work your behind off ALL day long and hurt all day and clean the whole house except for one little spot they STILL want you to praise them when they do that one spot that you didn't?

And smart wives will do just that. Give them lots of recognition and praise for the little that they did do. How else can you train them to help out more?

Too bad they can't figure out that we might like the same kind of recognition and praise.
