Weekly Chat, December 19th - 25th
Good Morning,
Its really nice to see you all here  Hope you have an OP week (me too :lol3: dang cookies ) Hugs. |
Morning Leenie :hugs:
Well, yesterday I was OP EXCEPT for the oranges.....and the 2 croissants....AND the 2 cherry turnovers. Once again they all just jumped into my mouth w/out me knowing it...and before I knew it I was chewing them. But you know, except for the oranges, the rest didn't taste all that good. So why eat them? Good question!!! Well, it's time to be good this week (again). I figure right now is just trial and error for me (trial of the "good" food and error in thinking it was supposed to still taste good) So January 2nd it's FULL STEAM AHEAD. And that's when I'm quitting my soda (ouch, can feel the headache now!!) and NOT cheating on weekends (even if I have to bring my own food with me to places!!)!! Hope you all had a great weekend :) |
Oh....took my ticker off. Figure I'll post my starting weight on the 2nd. Then go from there.
|
Good Morning :hohoho:
Sonnet~ WTG on the 2lbs!! :bravo: :xcheer: Brenda & Leenie~ :clause: Im down 3.5lbs this week! I had to bend over and look a bit closer at the numbers, then count  We had a quiet weekend. I finally got a walk in yesterday. I have not been exercising all week, due to a heel sized blister on my heel! Yesterday was the first time, I didnt have pain when I walked. It was nice!! Hopped into the tub last night, warm bubbles, and then into bed nice and early with my book....it was wonderful :D Have a great op day ladies :wreath: |
:cp: :hat: :woo: :cheer: THREE POUNDS!!! You're awesome!! :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp:
Had some upsetting things happen last night and instead of grabbing a drink or an evil sweet food I jumped on the treadmill and took my anger out on it. This worked so super great, I was so wore out when I was done but a GOOD wore out and there was no drinking/eating guilt. Also, all I've been able to think about lately is a big juicy apple, isn't that WEIRD? I want one SO BAD!!!! I'm gonna jump in the shower then it's off to work. DRINK DRINK DRINK everyone!!! :mrsclaus: oooh, look, I don't have to decorate my real house now! :ginger: |
Quote:
water, water, water - I'm gonna suck it down today. Really. I am. Several bottles. Seriously. Alright, quit laughing!!! LOL Tenn |
Good morning all! Oh apples! We have a lot of apple trees, pear trees, and a plum tree and other fruit here. During the summer, I find hubby walking the dogs and munching on them. I told him he can bring them in to the house and eat them.
Robin: :carrot: 3.5 pounds! :carrot: bnbsmommy: That's a good idea to utilize the treadmill like that. DH has moved mine to the livingroom so I'll use it more this week and through the first of January. Tomorrow is a Christmas lunch out in a restraunt with DH's family. This means bringing home a huge platter of fudge, rocky road, hard chinese noodle with melted butterscotch chips clusters, and cookie combo from my SIL. Last year, we were going to toss them in the garbage, but they were very forceful and jumped off the platter and right into my mouth! Then I think, I've eaten one, so eat one of each, then why not get rid of them once and for all. :p  Sooo...we talked last night, and I said if he can keep them in the shop, it's ok for him to have them, but not to bring them in for even a second. Another plan we have is to stop by a "regular" "will work for food" guy who has sat at the edge of town for years with his dog, give him a dollor or two...if he will take the cookies. BTW, We have said year after year not to give us the plate of cookies, but that is never heard of. Our families are either trying to kill us, or keep us fat for their amusement. :joker: |
Hubby gets out of the shower this morning.....as he's walking away from me, I notice a sticker on his rump!!!! I pulled it off, and you'll never guess what it said?????
Inspected my Mary Id like to know what the **** Mary was doing in the shower with MY husband! I hope Mary liked what she seen......cuz it aint gonna happen again!! :lol3:  (we actually had to get the alcohol out to get the sticky stuff off his behind) Was certainly an entertaining morning. |
Oh Robin, that's hilarious! That darn "inspector Mary" is everywhere. :mag: :lol3:
|
Brenda: The holidays are a tough time, but I know you'll bounce back strong on the 2nd! Don't be too hard on yourself!
Robin: Great job on the 3.5 lbs!! I didn't have any thought to weigh this morning because I was so busy :dizzy: That is hilarious about your DH's pants! bnbsmommy: That was a great alternative! I hope I get some new exersize stuff that I'll want to use rather than force myself to use now that I'm getting bored with what I have. :dz: Tenn: I saw that you're closer to 200 than 300 now...that's awesome! :carrot: Sonnet: I completely understand about family and food. Our family's unspoken motto is eat eat eat until you're full then pause, put on some comfy pants and eat eat eat some more. I'm sure you'll do fine resisting it, but if you don't, just jump back OP when you're ready. As for me, it's been a rough weekend. Friday (in below zero weather) my car overheated on the freeway and left me stranded until someone pulled over and drove me home. I had to sign up for AAA to get my car towed (cheaper than just having it towed). My dad and I stood outside (again in below zero weather) for at least 6 hours trying to fix the car, but nothing we did worked. He came back again on Sunday and tried another part and that didn't work. So most of the weekend I didn't feel my feet or hands ;) The car is still not working so I'm taking my mom's car home, driving it back to their house in the morning, my dad is driving me to work and my mom is picking me up after work...repeat steps 1-4 again for a few days until we figure out what to do with it. Other than the car issues, I was pretty proud of myself this weekend. I made stockings for my neice and nephew filled with tons of candy and I didn't snack on any of it! I bought myself a junior mint lip balm, a S'mores one for Jeremy and a watermelon bubblicious one for Jozelle (all sugar-free! I checked). Yesterday was the Christmas get-together at my grandma's house. She is very Italian so there's always tons of food, but the problem with Christmas at her house is that there isn't an actual sit-down meal, it's just munching all day! I actually brought a chicken leg quarter that I broiled the night before just in case (I'm glad I did). One of the few things I could eat was squid so I asked my dad to fry some up without the breading for me and I ate some of the italian sausage and peppers and mushrooms because my grandma makes the sausage homemade with only meat (no fillers yay). I was told that the Christmas cookies were horrible so I didn't miss those too much. Today and tomorrow are holiday parties at work and surprisingly today I found a good amount of stuff to eat for lunch (cheese, shrimp, roast beef, deviled eggs, and my mashed rutabagas with bacon and cheese mmmm). I hope there's a good selection for me tomorrow... Anyways, back to work. Hopefully I get more sleep tonight, I only got 4 hours last night. Have a great Monday! Andrea |
:lol3: OMG Robin, I am LMAO (no pun intended LOL) :lol3: That scene from the movie Duece Bigalow came to mind when I read that. If you've seen the movie, you know the part where he's getting waxed?!! :D. I'm gonna chuckle about this all day. Tell yer DH I said thanks for the giggle. :bravo: Congrats on being down 3.5lbs - that's awesome!!!!!!
G'morning Leenie (stay away from those darn cookies will ya? ;) ) Sonny - :cp: congrats on your loss - that's great!! Enjoy your lunch. That tray of goodies sounds heavenly! You & Brenda better watch out for all that  jumping food - one of ya is gonna lose an eye if yer not careful ;). Must be an American thing...we don't have bouncy food in Canada that I know of :D. Brenda - sounds like a great plan to me! Tenn - not a big apple lover here, but since day 1, I have craved apple juice. Strange! Congrats on your success so far - I bet you feel GREAT! Lacey - good for you jumping on the treadmill to work out that anger. Much better than snacking on something you would have regretted later on! Hope I caught all the new news - it's difficult for my widdle brain going back & forth between the 2 threads ;). Gotta run, my 4 y/o needs me for sum'pin. Inspected by Mary :lol3:    :lol3: TTFN, |
guess what?? I am still here!!
I made some awesome sea food chowder. (it was not low carb after I added tortillini instead of potatoes) but a killer chowder anyways. next time it will be with out the tortillini. HHMM that darn Mary!! What a Hoot!! especially trying to get it off!! not much happening here I think I will be trying to get my shopping finished. I still have gobs to do!!! |
Robin, Congrats on the 3.5 pounds.:cheer: It is especially impressive this time of year.
Andrea, I was given the cinnabon lip gloss yesterday. That stuff is awesome if a little tempting. I turned right to the label like you and sure enough your right it is sugar free. I am back OP and it was hard at work yesterday. One woman gave me a little tin full of something ( I'm sure its candy so I won't take the shrink wrap off) it is just siting on a shelf in my office hollering my name, then our QA person showed up and she brought this basket that had popcorn ball, ghilladelli chocolate, dove chocolate, jolly ranchers, wasabi peanuts ( not low carb), and some summer sausage. I took a couple of chocolates for when I have a cheat day, but hid them from view, and left the rest of it alone. I 'm hoping the rest of the office will devour the candy today while I'm at our other office. I have finally updated my wieght, hopefully I'll get rid of the weight I put on last week by the end of this week. Have a great OP day! |
Once again I'm on the fly. Today I'm meeting the church ladies (different ones from last night), then coming home and getting ready to take oldest DD to the orthodentist (she broke a bracket off). Then rush her home, then rush to go to youngest DD's GS meeting. Then afterwards take her Christmas shopping. Did I mention in all that I'm not really feeling too well? I have a minor headache, my throat is sore and my belly feels blech. Hmm.....flu? Just what I need!! NOT!!! Who has time to be sick right now? Not me. Ok, time for me to head out the door. Hopefully tomorrow I can get online and do personals
|
Brenda: you're a busy woman today! feeling better yet??
Mindy: I know what you mean, we had baskets and sweets boxes galore sent to the clinic yesterday...and patients thanking us for everything with big boxes of fudge. I have to walk by the break room each time I take a patient back so it sucked having to look at it all but I just refused to step inside and everything went good :) You can always just give the tin of goodies to someone else or toss it when no one is looking...just imagine a big blob of fat inside LOL I'm off to go shopping with the family today, have to get some last minute gifts and am going to pick up a gazelle so I'll have something to do when I can't walk outside this winter. Also gonna drop by the thrift shop and see if I can find some 14's...it's so hard for me to spend so much on clothes knowing that I won't be in them very long. :D Have an awesome day girls! drink that water!! Lacey |
Good Morning :sunny:
Its blowing, and snowing, and feels like a really good day to stay in the house close to the fire!! Not going to happen tho  Yahh Sue :cheer: you're still here.... Im glad :) Liv~ good for you getting thru the weekend!! Even with the car troubles!! Dh went and did some christmas shopping yesterday. I was out for my walk when he got back so I didnt get to see if he had BIG bags or small bags :chin: Everything is all hidden away already....boy is on the ball! Tenn~ I made the pumpkin sausage soup last night for today.....Man O Man is it good. I spiced it up a bit more, and once everything melds together, its going to be an awesome soup! I did double the sausage, so it would give me 20 grams of protein per serving. Next time I'll use the hot and spicy sausage instead of the orginal (jimmy dean's stuff) Thank you again for the recipe!! Ive been scouring the lc recipe sites for new recipes....stuff thats really filling like the cheeseburger soup. I think today might be a good day to head to the library and see if I can find a few more lc cookbooks. Have a great op day ladies! |
Brenda, hope it's just a passing thing and that you aren't actually getting sick. Are you taking suppliments? Drinking your water?
Great idea on imagining the tin if full of a big blob of icky fat Lacey! I'll have to remember that one :) I will be so happy when the holidays are over and the cookies and fudge disappear for another year! Andrea, I hope you get your car situated soon. Not just a thermostadt, huh? Robin, I'm so glad you liked the soup! Did it taste like you expected it to? I don't know what I expected it to taste like when I made it the first time, but I was surprised! I've made it a couple times and edited the recipe, once adding sage sausage, and once leaving the Italian seasoning out and adding some curry and cumin to taste. It was good all threse ways :) I got ALL my water in yesterday, and have got 20 oz down so far today. I don't know why i've been struggling with it so much lately. I'm starving today for some reason. I ate 4 eggs this morning, twice what I usually have, and I'm ready for lunch and it's an hour away. Maybe just a little anxious because I'm going home tomorrow? I'm excited and happy about seeing everyone, but Moms illness tempers those feelings I guess. |
Hey Ladies, Just a quick check in. DH and I going to look at different apartments today. Going to rent out our house,
anyways FELL OFF THE WAGON for the last two days. But back on today! I'll write more later, have a wonderful day ladies! EM |
Quote:
Hi Em, Mindy & Sue - nice to see you are all still here :). Have a great day everyone :hohoho:. |
Tenn~ I really didnt know what to expect. I like pumpkin loafs, and muffins and what not, but Ive never eaten pumpkin done any other way (I dont like the pies) It was alot sweeter than I expected, but very delicious. Dh says its definitely a "do-again"
|
Well, the total car replacements parts include; new spark plugs, new rotor, new spark plug wires, new ignition coil, new MAP sensor, and distributor cap....my dad and I put all of those in over the weekend and nothing worked. Well, today he checked one more things and then gave up. The service station about a 1/2 mile away was going to charge me $40 to tow it there (<1/2 mile!!!) so....we pushed it :D Well, OK, it coasted some of the way... So they are going to work on it tomorrow. We'll see if they can figure it out. Hopefully even just bringing it in their shop overnight will help thaw it out and dry it out (antifreeze and oil in all the wrong places doesn't help especially when it's below zero outside).
Those tasty lip glosses...well, they're not only tasty to humans... It was a joint effort; Leo knocked the S'mores tube off the table and Rusty chewed on it and dug some of the gloss out. My nephew didn't want it too much after that ;) This whole night I've felt like it was about 3 hours later than it was. I feel like it's midnight; I'm so tired!!! Darn DVR is too inviting so I'm watching my favorite show, House, without having to watch the commercials. THEN I'm going to bed...really...I swear. :hyper: :tired: :faint: Sleep good everyone! ~Andrea |
Lacey: How'd the shopping go? Yup, I'm feeling better and the headaches are coming less frequently and less severe. Thanks for asking
Robin: So any clue what DH got you? Did you have to make a list or does he guess?? I should try the cheeseburger soup. I'm not very adventurous in eating but SHOULD try and branch out. Tenn: Great job on getting the water down! Keep up the great work on that!! EM:  Stacie:  You know, I don't remember ever being this busy when I had a paying job (part-time). Not sure what the difference now is--and yes, I need to slow down. I hate all this running!! Andrea: I would love to get a DVR. I miss too many shows  I would love it if my VCR would even work! Ever watch "Takes a Thief"??? Great show!! Well, today is not so rushed  I still have a couple things from the store to get, then a few odds and ends from the grocery store, and then it's home to wait for the DD's from early dismissal from school. Then I'm hoping to get them to help straighten up the house today. Not a busy day :) I'm feeling much better and not sure what the deal was yesterday. Just glad it wasn't worse than it was! Found out DH's brother & his wife have decided not to get anyone presents (except her and his mom & dad--yah, right!!). Well, besides her kids that is. I'll believe that when I see it. I think it's just another way for her to cut DH out of her husbands (his brother) life. Well, and me. I seem to have done something to tick her off--even DH said so. So I'm going to write a NICE (no, not nasty. Truly nice) note to find out what her problem is and mail it  We'll see how things go from there. Not that I want presents. That's not the point. It's that she's controlling her DH into not spending time with his brother. After my DH spent a whole summer (ok, TWO summers!) helping them build their house!! Trying hard not to be bitter on that one!! Ok. Done griping :) |
Just a quick "HI" before I catch a plane home. I'll be gone two weeks, but should be able to pop in now and then to stay caught up with y'all. If it doesn't work out that way, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas'!!!
Tenn |
Happy Holiday's ladies. I'm sorry I haven't been around but between the holiday hustle bustle and then my adoptive grandfather passing away yesterday because of cancer I have been very stressed. I did gain back a little bit of the 265 I had loss, but am still under the 270 mark which I am very happy for. I wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and an extra wonderful Happy New Year's! I probably won't be on much or at all before the end of the year. Talk to you in 2006.
|
Good Morning :wreath:
Liv~ I like house too....but lately just staying up to watch it til 10 has been quite the feat for me  Last night was a repeat....so I gave up and was in bed by 9:15  I hope they get your car figured out soon! Brenda~ Sounds like your sil is a piece of work! Do you live very far from them? Can your dh, just call up his brother, and invite him over for a beer? Something like that? I have problems with women who manipulate their spouses too....this is why my dh is only allowed to call and talk to his son "directly" when we need information about things (like holidays, birthdays and get togethers) This all started with the 3 days before he(son) was to be deployed to iraq back in january...my dil put my dh thru ****, and I'll never forgive her for it! I hope you get it worked out....at the very least get your dh and his brother to spend some quality "brother" time together. Em~ how did the apt hunting go? Have you rented out your house already? Sounds like a stressful time....Im thinking about you....hang in there  Tenn~ when are you leaving? Are you going to have net access? Have a wonderful holiday with your family!!:ginger: Kel~ I think it was you that asked me if my dil that now has a job, is the one with the clotting problem. Yup, thats her. Have you ever met anyone that can time their hospital emergencies on specific days??????? She never ceases to amaze me! Every time, it takes the importance of the day away from everyone else and on her. I know I sound bitter, and I know her illness is serious, but I can't get over the feeling that we are all being manipulated! She has done so many things, and told so many lies(right to my face) when I knew they were lies, that I just dont trust her. I dont trust what she tells us about her illness. I get dh to call his son, and find out if he "heard" it straight from the doctor. (In a not so obvious manner) Anyway enough about her...I had a rant about her to dh yesterday too  She's getting baking pans for xmas, because Im tired of getting mine back all rusty  Phew...thanks Kel for letting me unload :^: A bit more christmas shopping to do today. Dh is really into it this year. Its kinda fun!! We have never really done anything like this before. Usually he just stops and picks up gift certificates for his kids. But this year, he has one son back from Iraq, and one son in sweden with a new wife coming to visit. So he's had to put some thought into his gifting this year. Nope, I havent a clue Brenda what he bought. I have given him a few ideas...a kitchen aide mixer, a specific chair from pier one...I even brought home the pamphlet , pretty much anything from williams sonoma, then a few mentions here and there....always jewellery. But he doesnt buy alot of jewellery....so I dont know. Im definitely going to be surprised  Well, I better get showered and get ready....I'll be making alot of xmas goodies this afternoon. Dh called his son and invited them for xmas dinner, plus I want to make up a tray for the staff at the starbucks we go to. Wish me luck!! I will NOT test! I will NOT test! I will NOT test! I will NOT test! I think Im done with my book  Have a great day ladies! |
Bec~ Im so sorry for your loss :hugs: Thoughts and prayers for your family. Enjoy your holiday
Tenn~ Have fun!! |
DH didn't let me get the gazelle :( He was in SUCH a bad mood, I regret even taking him with me. We got to the mall and he gives me a one hundred dollar spending limit for the day!!! :o So needless to say I will be finishing up when he is not off work. He is bi-polar and living with him is a constant roller coaster. Winter is the WORST and I can't wait until summer already.
Last night my cousin (who is a propane delivery guy) was burned so bad that they medi-flighted him to the city and that is all anyone has heard so far. No one even knows what happened yet, so everyone is pretty stressed about that right now. Not knowing is the worst. My eating yesterday was atrocious and I didn't exercise. I had a hamburger (w/o bun) for lunch then supper was like a free for all. Made the cottage cheese/peanut butter thing, had tons of summer sausage, cheese and 2 low carb beers. I am definitely paying for it today with a 3 pound gain :( Brenda: it is SO hard dealing with crappy SIL's...they have a way of trying to put all of the attention on THEM. Hope the guys can get something worked out. Robin: sounds like you're going to be reaping some of your dh's new gift buying streak too! Tenn: I hope you're able to have a nice relaxing visit with your family...be safe  I won't be on much so if I don't get the chance from now until then, everyone have a SUPER Christmas!!! :xcheer: :stardav: :snowglo: :snow4: :present: :gift2: :hohoho: Lacey |
Brenda: Don't get DVR! You get so addicted :dizzy: No really, it's a great invention, but it's so easy to get hooked. Since I can record two shows at a time and also watch a previously DVR'd show at the same time, I tend to build up my list and I end up watching Monday's shows on Saturday ;) I definitely don't miss my fave shows unless I record too much at once and it cancels one of the recordings to record another show I picked. I have watched "It Takes a Thief" and isn't it scary how easy that is to do! My new obsession is the house flipping shows (Flip This House, Flip That House, Property Ladder). Funny thing is, I haven't watched TV with commericals since I got the dumb DVR a couple months ago. I assume the novelty will wear off eventually and then it will be more convenience than anything...but unil then...I'm hooked!
Bec: I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. My dad's mom and my mom's dad died on new year's one year apart so as tough as it'd be any time of the year, the holiday-time makes it even more real to me because I can just picture the traditions that have changed because they're not around. Robin: Last night's House was a repeat? Weird, I never saw that one before. OH! But what really sucked was that there was about 5 minutes left of the show where they were just going to reveal what was really wrong with the nun, but then there was a breaking news bulletin and I never found out what was wrong with her. I assume she was OK because that's the show, but I was so heated after that happened! Lacey: Have you ever talked to anyone about light therapy for the extra-tough winter months for your DH? For everyone who talked about IL's: I completely empathize! My BIL is just one of those people who's so overly polite that it gets sickening and he thinks he's the smartest thing so anything he knows a teeny bit about, he goes out of his way to prove it to everyone! And his family is even worse than he so we try to avoid them as much as possible. All I can say to him is, "Thank you for my beautiful niece!" One more full day of work then off Friday and Monday and then three days next week just to be off Friday and Monday again! I will make it to the end of the day tomorrow without going crazy! Have a great day! Andrea |
Oh my goodness Lacey...I hope your cousin is alright!! Im sorry your dh is being Mr. Crankypants! I only have an idea how the bi-polar effects the family. We have a neighbour who is bi-polar, but he is one of the extreme ones, with some OCD tossed in for good measure. I wish you a speedy winter!
|
Bec - I'm so sorry about your loss. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family!!
Brenda - I'd be bitter if it were me ;). She sounds as if she's jealous of you for some reason. Perhaps your BIL made a comment about you (looks, talents, etc) that pee'd her off and now she blames you for it? Pure speculation of course :). I had a girlfriend who went thru something similar and it was because of something like this. I love the show House too, but always forget when it's on & usually miss it. Maybe next week LOL. Tenn - have a wonderful holiday!!!!! Robin - does your DIL have VwD by chance? Just wondering because of the clotting problem you mentioned. As for the gift...have you ever rec'd a chia pet before? :shocksn: Just a thought :D. Ironically, speaking of them, I haven't noticed the 500 commercials/day they usually have on at this time of year. Lacey - my thoughts & prayers are with your cousin. Sorry you weren't able to get your gazelle. My mom has bi-polar & she was a nightmare to live with. Hope everyone has a great day & to those of you off for Christmas, if I haven't missed you already - Have a GREAT holiday!!!!!!! :gift2: :present: |
Stacie~ I dont know what VwD is ...she has both clotting, and thin blood(highly irregular, but its why she hasnt had her knee operated on) Nope, no chia pet, and now that you mention it, I havent heard the ch-ch-chia in a while....those suckers are expensive!! .......Something I noticed, and I dont know if you mentioned it.....but you made your holiday challenge goal!!!!
Congratulations!! :cb:  :hat: :grouphug: :ebike: :dancer: :gift: :cloud9: :bravo: :twirly: :cheer:  |
Robin, vWD is von Willebrand's Disease ("Type 1 VWD is the most common form, affecting 75% of all people with VWD. In Type 1 VWD, the Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) works normally, but there is not enough of it. Many people have no symptoms of VWD at all until a bad injury or an operation. Then, they could have serious bleeding. Others have mild symptoms such as:
bleeding from their gums, minor bruises, prolonged bleeding from cuts. Some women with Type 1 VWD have heavy, prolonged bleeding during their periods, called menorrhagia. This can have a big effect on health and quality of life. Injuries and surgery can lead to severe bleeding even in this mild form of VWD. That's why it's important for people who think they might have VWD to get tested". http://www.hemophilia.ca/en/2.2.2.php ) There are 3 different types, but type 1 is most common. Anyway, the reason I was curious & know about vWD is because my 6 y/o has it. Those Chia's are expensive. My grandmother got me the Garfield one years ago & when they 1st start to grow out, they are gross looking. Well, it was to me anyway LOL. It was so disgusting I threw it out & then when I saw them at the store & saw how much they cost, I felt like crap for pitching it :o. Thank you, :encore: thank you. I am quite happy about not only making my goal, but surpassing it as well. I'm hoping I can beat it by another 5 lbs at least, but if I can't, I'm happy with what I've done so far :). |
Im not sure Stacie....she told us she has clots. Which I have seen on the back of her leg...just amazing how big it was. She is also a bleeder. BUT, she doesnt bruise easily, and doesnt bleed profusely when she cuts herself. BUT (again) she has had to put off knee surgery because of this. ALTHOUGH...she had the surgery to put the umbrella thingy in her belly to stop the clots from going into her lungs.
Im proud of you for getting to your goal!! Have you been on induction all this time? Well I did good tonight. I got all my baking done for the starbucks staff. A batch each of shortbreads, butter tart squares, eatmore bars, and chocolate chip cookies. I didnt lick my finger once!!!! I fought off the fat lady :sumo: and was having a very very hard time when the first 2 items were being made. I had let :sumo: win, and I had decided I was going give them all a try. Why not right? Then I remembered the 2 meetings we have tomorrow, with very thin pretty women!!!!!!! One sent my dh a christmas card, and didnt mention me ANYWHERE on the card!! (talk about pissed) So....remembering all that, kept me in check!! |
Oh, then I don't think that is vWD. People with vWD take forever to clot and that's the problem if they were ever in an accident or having surgery, as they could bleed out.
Thanks again Robin. Kinda, sorta on induction. Stayed totally legal (not counting my coffee of course LOL) up until last week or there abouts, when I added some sunflower seeds & almonds to my menu. I love my flaxseed oatmeal, but find it overpowering on it's own, so I add ground s.seeds & almonds to it. Other than that, I'm still pretty much following the induction rules. I don't lose weight if I go over 20g on a regular basis, so I have to stick to this level pretty closely till I'm at goal. I know they say not to do this, but I can still do Maint. without OWL & Pre-M first. I did it before & know it can work. I didn't know you worked at Starbucks. My hat is off to you. I couldn't be around all that food & specialty coffee without caving. Good for you not taste testing! You should be pretty darn proud of yourself too. 100 lbs...my 2 boys together weight about 83lbs and it's a real struggle if I have to carry them both at once. I don't think I could lift 100lbs, never mind carry it around on me every day. You are amazing!!!!!! Anyhew, I have to make fruit trays for my 6 y/o's last day at school, so I guess I should move my butt. Have a great day everyone!!!!!! |
Good Morning :candy:
Stacie~ Noooope, I dont work at starbucks! I stay at home and help my retired hubby run his sign business from the house. We just go to starbucks all the time, and this particular starbucks is having alot of difficulty with a new manager. Even the customers are noticing it. So I made up 4 different batches of cookies for them for christmas. Thanks for the pat on the back. I forget sometimes how much is actually gone. I understand your staying on induction....I seem to be the same way. If I get anywhere over 30 carbs...fibre doesnt matter....I dont loose. I havent maintained consistently, but I think I can do it with induction type foods. As long as I keep it fresh.....I get bored too easily with my foods. So, yup, I understand :) I seem to be in the right mindset today, so I just might get some more baking done. (After our meetings) I have to run the vacuum around the house, and tidy up a bit before the 1st one gets here. (the tiny one  ) One more trip to toys'r'us....and Im done!! I find when I finish my shopping early, I second guess myself too much! I decided I really didnt buy my dd any toys for christmas. Well, 2! She's 9, and she's so hard to buy for now....she mentioned the smoochy pups yesterday, so I think I can manage one more toy  It wont be long its going to be expensive electronic gadgets!! :dizzy: Thats it for now....have a great day ladies! |
well I cheated with sweets for the first time since I started in July. I had a single chocolate covered drunk cherry. Trying not to dwell on it. it was a freakin' cherry for goodness sakes, not a cake or something.
I MUST pull myself back up onto the wagon..... walked 3 miles this morning, now I need to clean house, sew and get some gifts wrapped. Even AFTER Christmas, I won't be ready for Christmas. Wondering why I do this to myself every year LOL Robin: isn't it hard to get JUST ONE MORE and not grab two or three more while you're there?? My 11 year old just HAD to have a violin and I got my 3 year old a tv/dvd player so the girls would quit fighting over what to watch. And of course all the little stuff too...I have NO IDEA how she's going to learn how to play :dizzy: have a good day girls, I've gotta get off my bum!! Lacey |
This is the first year Ive had such a hard time....just one more isnt so much an issue this time. She has a gazillion barbies, and my scene's. I refuse to buy Brats! She has 3 big rubbermaid boxes full of barbie and my scene play sets. For her age, there isnt much out there besides barbies as far as toys go. Gameboy games, and whatnot just arent the same to me....I miss the little girl who opened all her toys. Guess they have to grow up :(

Tenn: Wishing you a Merry Christmas
Bec: Sorry to hear about your Grandfather  See you next year Robin: WTG on not testing the cookies! Great willpower! Holy cow! Not mentioned at ALL in a card to DH? Yup, you've every right to be ticked!! And no, Dh can't call the BIL. He does, but his BIL ends up with an excuse of why he can't go which translates into--my wife won't let me go. Sad, eh? Lacey: Sorry to hear about your cousin AND that you didn't get the gazelle. Oh my. Just ONE drunk cherry! I say KUDO's for stopping at just ONE!!Don't beat yourself up-you did good!! Hope you have a good Christmas!! Andrea: Sorry to hear about your BIL. My BIL's AND father are like that. Dad has calmed down, but still have to deal with the BIL's. And to have them together is NUTS!! Have a great day off tomorrow and a Great Christmas :) Stacie: OMG the mention of chia-pets had me laughing. I remember those! we ALWAYS got my dad one  And now the shapes they come in!?! Holy cow who would want a Shrek chia-pet? lol. If the BIL said something to the DIL I'd like to know what it is. DH said he thinks she's jealous of me for some reason also. Sure would like to know what I did!! WTG on making your holiday goal (Thanks Robin for pointing that out :) ) Well, due to not paying attention and being STARVED, I ate Mcdonalds (big mac and big fry topped off with TWO donuts and THREE oranges. Can we say BARF!?!?) last night. Needless to say I woke up in the middle of the night with w/a belly ache. Did it to myself. And of course, looked in the mirror this morning (while getting dressed. OH EW!!!) and the belly is WAY fat. I look 5 months PREGNANT!!! So hoping that my shirts for Christmas are far enough down to cover it up. lol. January 2nd can't come fast enough for me! I've got to get back to straight/strict induction with NO options. And I'm too far gone right now to pull myself back for CHristmas. Just trying to hang in there without TOTALLY making a fat pig of myself. I'll post my (*gulp*) new sig w/weight on January 2nd. And go from there. Off to go clean the house a little. Hope you ALL have a Merry Christmas and safe and Blessed New Year. Not sure I'll get back online until the New Year, so don't worry if you don't see me (and I"ll update you all on the happenings of SIL when I get back--remind me  ). |
Have a Very Merry Christmas Brenda if we dont see you before

Well. I fell off. To a high weight of 269 pounds. I'm so disgusted with myself. It all started when we got iced in at my moms house. She had NO lc things. So I ate what everyone else was eating..And didn't stop. Five days later and I'm back where I was. I'm so mad at myself. I think I'm just always going to be huge. I'm so disgusted with myself I could totally cry! So even though I've ate two rice crispie treats and a taco with tortilla today so far..Weighing myself was a wake up call.. Re-starting now. Please wish me luck ladies :( God I hate myself sometimes EM |
