EM: The important part is that you're willing to start again instead of throwing in the towel. You came back here and we will support you through all of the ups and downs! We all have impossible times and since you didn't have an option of what to eat, the option you had was to beat yourself up or not. Although, you might have though about the first choice, you're showing that you want to keep going and that great!
I know you'll get back in fine! Good luck! :D
~Andrea

bnbsmommy1 12-22-2005 05:11 PM

Em: Dust yourself off and just keep on going. We all mess up, and you were in a very odd situation with really no choice. Today's a new day, LOVE yourself, cause we love you  Just remember how crappy you felt after eating all those foods and it'll help in the future when you're tempted. If it'll help, throw the tortillas and ecspecially the rice crispy treats away..no one needs those anyway. If they aren't there looking at you then you can't eat them.
YOU DESERVE this (the weight loss).
We're all standing right beside you girlie.

Lace

RobinW 12-22-2005 05:38 PM

Oh Em  I know how your feeling, and I agree with everything Liv and Lacey have said. I dont have much more to add to that. Sometimes we feel like we are running in circles, and never getting anywhere. But your back here, and your back op. Feel better that your strong enough to come back, dust yourself off, and getting right back at it.

Back in the days when I had money LOL, I used to start my shopping really early & was usually done by Sept. But then I'd see something and pick it up or wonder if I got enough & pick up more stuff. It was crazy the amount of gifts that would end up under the tree. One year it took my eldest all day to open gifts and my ex & I ended up helping him at the end - he had just had enough . Gotchya on Starbucks. That was very nice of you - I bet they totally appreciated it!! So...how did your meetings go?

Lacey - stop beating yourself up. In fact, give yourself a pat on the back for only having 1!!! As you yourself said to EM, dust yourself off and keep going!! :).

I never buy for girls, but what about Gift Cards? CD's, movies, makeup, bead stuff, board games????

Brenda - I think you've got the right idea waiting till January to start up again. In fact, The Atkins Essentials book says you are better off not starting ANA when going on vacation, travelling, entertaining, attending parties or eating out a lot. Can't wait to find out what's been up with your SIL! Thanks for the congrats! :).

EM- stop beating yourself up. You were stuck somewhere without adequate LC foods to get you through. That could NOT be helped. You had to eat & you had to eat what was available - I would have done the same thing. As Lacey said, dust yourself off and keep on going. Just don't give up!!

I had to make fruit trays for my eldest's luncheon today at school. OMG...fresh cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, etc, etc. I wanted to chomp into those sweet smelling juicy fruits soooooo bad. BUT, I totally resisted. I think I crave fruit more than anything...especially now :D.

Gotta run. Have a great night all!!! :hohoho: :xcheer: :rudolph:

Mindy5936 12-23-2005 07:21 AM

Bec- I'm so sorry for your loss.

Lacey- I'll keep your cousin in my thoughts and prayers, please keep us updated.

Stacie- Congrats on making goal :carrot:

Andrea-I love flip this house, what station and when are the other two shows on?

Well, I've had a nasty virus the last few days, so I've been on Gatorade and saltines and not OP. I tried eggs this morning and just couldn't get them down. My weight is dropping like a rock despite all the carbs but I think that's to be expected.

gonna_be_150 12-23-2005 07:54 AM

Mindy - sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but YAY on the weight loss! 16lbs so far...that's AWESOME!! :cheer: Hope you are feeling better for Christmas!! Thanks for the congrats - I don't expect to go down anymore over the next week as TOM is due to arrive shortly.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!! :snow4:

Good Morning :coffee:

Mindy~ 16lbs so far WOW!! Good for you!! :bravo: :cheer: WTG!!

Got my xmas dinner grocery shopping done yesterday. It was crazy!!!

Got thru my self esteem issues yesterday....having pretty young thin women come to your house to meet with you and your husband, can be very trying on a wife. :dizzy:

Not much else happening, have a great day ladies

Ms Spotdog 12-23-2005 11:49 AM

I just wanted to wish all you wonderful, inspirational gals a very Merry Christmas. It's going to get crazy around here the next few days and I'm not sure I'll have much computer time. Melissa comes in on the train from SF this morning. My 'gentleman friend' comes home from China at noon and we are going to grab some lunch together before he goes home and crashes. Bet its going to take a couple days to recover from that international traveling. Then later today the kids and I are going to the movies. Boys want to see The Ringer and Melis and I want to see Mem. of a Guisha (sp). We both read the book and enjoyed it. Plus she is really into Japanese culture. She hopes to study for her masters over there after she gets her art degree. Tonight I will wrap the Christmas presents (finally got everything bought). Tomorrow I think I will bake those damn Christmas cookies. I plan on having a big LC breakfast and so I won't be interested in 'taste testing',

Best wishes, comforting prayers and healing vibes to all those in need. I'm so sorry that many are going thru strife at this time of year.

Ok - Off to the races! (who used to say that? Ruthie???)

nasus40 12-24-2005 09:27 AM

Well it is time for a big rush with Christmas just a day away and things to do. My shoulder is killing me it all started with a stress knot on my neck in the middle of the shoulderblades, and now it has worked its way to my R shoulder and now I can not move my shoulder. (Should have gotten that massage when I had a chance.) (It did not help when I had to bowl Thursday) But I did not bowl to badly:shrug:

then DD2 hit a person with her car. (She is OK all three of them) DS2 was in the car too. this woman ran infront of the car. and as DD2 said she rolled up on the windshield just like in the movies. nobody was hurt, and the lady got the ticket, and admitted it was her fault. and well I have to go to work today to help fufill a dying mans wishes. A good thing to do for the season. We do not know why he is still alive but now we can do this. and it feels so goood.

clean laundry and work and cooking and finish wraping is on my agenda. sorry I am not up to the personals just yet but things are looking better at work now so hopefully!!!!

Happy Holidays for all. Merry Christmas, and well Bless you all for everything.

nasus40 12-24-2005 09:32 AM

EM I have went from 169 wearing a size 12 to 250 with a 24 in just under 3 years If I can come back and start over with tons of more stress in my life you can too.. come on and join the fun we can do this together. starting the 2 of Jan full force, baby steps until then!!!

gonna_be_150 12-24-2005 09:44 AM

I kept the kids up super late last night hoping they'd sleep in a bit so I could play this morning. Guess I shudda added some booze to their milk, 'cause keeping them up didn't work . Not sure if I'll be back or not before tomorrow night (my ex. gets the kids at 2 tomorrow), so Merry Christmas & /or Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!!!!!

Sonnet 12-24-2005 10:29 AM

Hi All, I hope everyone has a Merry Christamas :wreath: :snowball: :rudolph:

and Happy Holidays :han: .

:newyear:

bnbsmommy1 12-24-2005 11:52 AM

well, as of this morning I am back up to 200!! I'm sure some of it is water weight, I didn't drink hardly anything yesterday and I was shopping all day so I didn't eat until I got home in the evening and I had the biggest taco salad you've ever seen.

speaking of shopping, have y'all seen and steve & barry's? It is sooooo cool! It is the grand opening right now and EVERYTHING in the store is 7.95 or less! They have coats, jeans, jackets, shoes, boots, everything...I got some hoodies and workout wear, a couple pair of jeans for myself and dh, some boots and shoes for dh and a cute down coat for myself 7.95!!! I spent a hundred dollars and had six bags chock full of stuff...check it out if you see one...very worth going to!!

nas: glad everyone is ok, but sorry that it happened.

msspot: hope you have a fantastic time while your boyfriend and family are home..let us know how the movie is, I want to see it too.

I do not plan on cheating tomorrow, I've done so crappy by gaining back 6 pounds that I can't imagine the guilt if I did cheat. I'm planning on bringing salad and other things that I can eat, then eating and not grazing back by the table.

:newyear:

EarthyMama 12-24-2005 04:15 PM

Hey Ladies,

Lacey: That is really sad about your BIL. Have you found out exactly what happened?
Robin, Rok & others: Thanks for making me feel better. Unfortunetly, I have not pulled myself back on the wagon yet. I tried, but well..Rice crispy treats and chili, and rolls, and Little Debbie Hoho's and mexican wedding tea cakes (My aunts hawaiian, they are called something else I can't remember what) were around and I've caved.
My mom and siblings stayed until this morning, so I've been off. Excuses, excuses... I am going to excercise today! Thats a start. It will make me feel better and get re-motivated.
Does anyone have a LOWER self esteem since they started dieting? It could just be stuff in my life, but I feel ginormous and just really..really bad about myself. It didn't help, yesterday I was stuck in really bad traffic trying to get into another lane and this guy about my age, maybe 24-25 who was attractive and in a newer toyota celica (I was in my bros car, a crappy looking but nice running 86 honda prelude) looked at me, looked at the car, looked at me again, Smirked, and cut me off! Wouldn't let me in the lane..Then he looked at me like F&ck you. Little imp. He had playboy girl sillhouettes on the side of his car, and a "Fear Ugly Chicks" bumper. (I saw that after someone else finally let me in)
That just really hurt my feelings even though its totally neurotic to let one a-hole make me feel that way! GRRRRR.
That picture of me in my avatar, I wasnt wearing any makeup and was in my nightgown! I'm not ugly! I just wish I could "KNOW" that. If that makes sense. Enough rambling. Going to excericise and work on that til New Years. Then I will be back on full swing. I have too, have too.

Merry Christmas you gals. Thanks so much for everything. You are all the only reason I'm still trying. I would've done gave up by now.

Love,
EM

RobinW 12-24-2005 06:31 PM

Oh Em  No, you're NOT ugly!! Quite cute I think ;) I know its hard when you are not getting positive feed back at home. I second guess myself often enough, when dh doesnt tell me I look nice, when Im thinking Im looking pretty good. I know its hard, but when you have all those negative thoughts going around in your head....holler to yourself "NEXT" and think about something else! This has worked wonders for me, when I start letting the ex live in my head....and all his negative crap!!

Too bad it wasnt your own car.....you could have let him hit ya! Yup, he was an arrogant prick....but Im thinking his prick doesnt work all that well!! ;) or its really really small!!! That kind of thing is going to take a few days to get over. I came out of walmart about 3 months ago...it was late at night, and it was warm....I had my window down, and some guy came racing by my truck....screaming as soon as he up next to my window, slowed down, and screamed "I love fat chicks" Its really hard to drive and cry. You will dust yourself off, and get back to it. Don't let him stay in your head.

About those hoho's....OMG those are evil!!!!!!!! Thats usually what I eat when I fall off....those and marshamallows  Enjoy your christmas, love your kids and hubby, start nice and fresh on the 26th. :)

Sue~ Im glad your dd is ok and the lady who walked out infront of her. Geez!

Stacie~ That doesnt usually work for my dd either  she gets up at the same time no matter what time she went to bed.

Lacey~ I love Steve and Barrys. Thats where I get my jeans!! I can get my leg length when I buy the men's jeans!! Perfect when our sizes are changing....paying on 7.95, sometimes its 6.95 for everything in the store. You just have to keep your eye open.

Well, all the pies are made for tomorrow. The steak and mushroom pie is finally done, crust for the lemon meringue is done, cookies done! This is the first time Ive had a chance to sit and read how everyone's day went. Even called the airlines and made some changes for my dd! Busy Busy Busy.

I have to remember to take out the bread machine for tomorrow!! I didnt pick up any fresh bread today :( So I'll have to make it, or buns....I really dont want to fuss with buns, so I think the bread machine is the way to go.

Well, thats it, I have to go eat supper, have some tea, and enjoy christmas eve with my family.

Have a great holiday everyone.....if you do not celebrate...then Happy Sunday :)

EarthyMama 12-24-2005 11:47 PM

Thanks so much Robin... I'll pull myself together here soon. I know I will...I'll be trying that 'NEXT' thing as soon as I have more thoughts like that. It's better then stewing.

I put on the excercise tape today (a 20 minute callenetics tape. I SO did not want to work out) and I made it only 5 minutes into it. I was so tired and grumpy and DID not want to excercise. My mom kept me up ALL night talking and didn't leave until 8 am and I got up with the girls at 11am, so I'm thinking I probably felt like **** because of so little sleep. I just woke up at 9 pm after a 3 hour nap. I watched Bowling for Columbine and after that was over I fell asleep. I'm thinking the girls who are just now waking up will be up until 4 am probably! OOPS...

Mushroom and steak pie? I don't know if that sounds good or not to be honest! lol You'll have to let me know how it turns out!

Dwayne will be home in 20 minutes and I've got to get dinner on the table and the girls a bath..Uggies.

MERRY CHRISTMAS LADIES! (if you celebrate!)

Love,
EM

bnbsmommy1 12-25-2005 12:26 PM

Getting ready to go to Christmas dinner but wanted to check in with my atkins sistas first. I made a big humongous salad and some chili (for everyone else) the chili smells soooo good and dh already had a big cup of it LOL. We're doing a 'soups and sandwiches' thing since we had the traditional turkey for Thanksgiving. If I'd of had the money yesterday I would have grabbed a ham at the store so I'd have something more than salad.

I walked 3 miles this morning and I don't plan on staying at the dinner long so that I won't be tempted by all of the sweets and soups. I hope y'all are having a fantastic day :)

EM: my cousin is still hanging in there, still on the vent of course but has a long road ahead of him, so sweet of you to ask  Hope you can get a few minutes of one of your cool tapes in tonight. :cheer: :goodluck:

RobinW 12-25-2005 02:07 PM

Just a quick break....thought I'd check in too. Im trying to keep everything "reasonable" So far so good. Ive only had one macaroon :dizzy: they are sooooo good! :T

I weighed in this morning, because I certainly wasnt going to weigh in tomorrow morning with christmas in my belly  Anyway, the scale showed a nice xmas morning christmas present. Which is good....its going to keep my on track today......that and the beautiful size 12 skirt dh bought for me!

Lace~ enjoy your day :hohoho:

Im off to put the roast in the oven in a bit, then a quickie walk thru the neighbourhood I think. More to relieve some of the stress than anything else.

Have a wonderful day ladies!!

bnbsmommy1 12-25-2005 06:30 PM

Size 12 skirt!!! wooohoooo!!!! What an awesome dh you have!!

gonna_be_150 12-25-2005 06:33 PM

Kel - hope you had a very enjoyable Christmas with your kids & your gentleman friend. ;)

Sue - hope your shoulder is better & sorry to hear about your DD's accident. Thank God everyone is OK! God be with you as you comfort that man. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Hi Sonny & Happy Holidays to you!! :wreath:

Lacey - I've noticed my weight doesn't budge when I don't eat regularily. I know you know this already, so don't be fretting about the gain. The holidays are a wild, crazy time & I'm positive once your days aren't as hectic, that gain will be gone! Your cousin is still in my prayers!

Em - you are definitely NOT ugly at all! I think you look quite beautiful in that picture! I would just try to stay as LC as possible between now & the New Year. I can't remember if it's in DANDR or Atkins Essentials that says NOT to start induction at certain times in your life or during holidays.

OK Robin...now you've got my mouth a'waterin :hun:. Steak & mushroom pie...lemon meringue..... :T YUMMMMM. Had to LOL about the bread machine. I used to make a loaf every morning (we went through bread that fast...or rather I did :o ). I've used it once since coming back to LC. Congrats on your loss - what a nice gift (along with the skirt!!) :carrot:.

Well, no Christmas Day surprise whoosh for me. Not surprised tho as TOM is here. A friend of mine must have a really contorted view of me. He knows I have no family & got me a couple gifts so I would have something to open with the kids. Got me a Canadian Girls Kick *** sweater that I love. However, it's an XXL. I like my clothes baggy, especially sweaters, so not a big (no pun intended ) deal. Then he got me a winter coat (why when I have 5 of them??) size 12. Ya...maybe when I was 12 :^: . So...do I look really fat or really thin? Who knows? :chin: Not him apparently :D. Going out tomorrow to buy him a pair of glasses :joker: .

:hat: Well, have a great evening ladies. I've just about got all my Christmas stuff put away (started as soon as the kids went to their dads), so now I have room to exercise again.

:ginger: :xcheer:

RobinW 12-25-2005 09:54 PM

you know.....out of all the goodies to be had today I most enjoyed the roast beef, and the oatmeal casserole bread I ate to sop up the gravy :T So I made sure I had another serving before bedtime, cuz its going to be easter before I eat like this again :sumo: I am soooooooooooooo stuffed!!

Ready for the Valentines day challenge ladies?

bnbsmommy1 12-25-2005 10:39 PM

The sooner the V-Day thread is started, the better!!
