Oh can I join in too please????
My son will be 5 weeks old this Thursday and I need to get back on track with low-carbing. I can't do induction because of nursing him, but I can stop eating all the jelly beans and italian bread that I find within arms reach. I started back today and it's now 10:20PM here and I could DIE for something sweet!!!! I hate the "getting over the sugar cravings" part - but I know that once I get there I'll feel 100% better. Now I have no idea about a goal - so I'm going to say 7 lbs. is what I'll shoot for. Hopefully I can do that while still producing a good enough milk supply. We'll try it.

Latest update on my weight situation:
Since beginning the St. Patricks day challenge on February 15th, I've lost a total of two lbs, bringing me from 183 to 181. I was hoping to have lost closer to 4 or 5 lbs by now, but I think that my weight loss is starting to slow down. (I've lost 19 lbs total since 1/1/05) Soooo, I'm going to change my goal because I don't think I'm realistically going to lose 10 lbs by the 17th and I'd rather not make myself crazy by stressing out in an attempt to. My new goal is to lose 7 lbs and reach a weight of 176.

This forum seems so quiet... Where is everybody and how are you guys doing? My goal is not going well. I am STILL at 181 (Only 2 lbs lost since Feb. 15th. That was 2 weeks ago!) and the scale doesn't look like it's planning to move anytime soon. I don't know why I'm having such an unsuccessful couple of weeks. I haven't been eating differently and I've been hitting the gym at least 3 times a week. And I'm sooo close to being in the 170's, where I have not been for a loooong time. If I could just see 179 I'd be so happy. Grrrrr!!!!!

Hi everyone Congratulations to all.

Hi Turtle, I'm still here and working on this goal. I think it's great you've lost a couple of pounds.

I've lost one just one pound.

Until this past Valentine's Day goal, I have never met a diet goal because I never know what to make it or get stressed about it. So maybe it's me dumbing down to my dieting failures, but I've had to change my way of thinking. Now for the first time I've just gone for it and set these small goals and worked towards them. So not to not put pressure on myself, I feel whatever I lose on this goal is good even if it's half of it or a few pounds. I wonder if I'm fooliing myself and confused on what a goal is. But at this point, as long as I go down, I'll be happy. After regaining so much back, I can't go that way again. This next goal is keeping me in the right direction, that's for sure.

Red face Feeling a little better

Thanks Sonnet and congratulations on your loss too. Reading your post really helped because I was starting to go a little crazy. I guess I've just gotta remind myself that any weight loss is progress and not making my goal doesn't mean I'm a failure. Some days though, I swear I wanna take a sledgehammer to my scale, lol. I think you've found a great way of looking at things, just taking each loss as an achievement and not stressing out so much about making your body do what you've decided it should. (That's what my problem is! I can't accept that just because I WANT to lost 7 lbs and I think I SHOULD doesn't mean it's automatically going to happen.) Anyway, you've got a great attitude which I will try to imitate! Thanks for the encouragement, (It was much needed)

Is everyone like me??? I'm here - BUT I can't bear to go near the scale because I am finding it VERY tough to get back on track.

Today I was supposed to weigh in - but for the past week I've started each day "gung ho" only to find myself at 3PM munching on something bad. OK - when I get the nerve I will get back on the scale but it might not be until next Wed. Actually next Monday I have my appt. with the Dr. that pushed me into Atkins 2 years ago. I know he'll have words for me but this time I can squirt him with fresh brea$tmilk!!!!!

Oh thanks Turtle, I never think of myself of saying anything that helps anyone with their diet. That's so nice of you. I feel so good to be with such understanding dieters who are going through what I am.

Hi Kim, Oh, You cracked me up so much saying that! LOL LOL LOL
I know what you mean, and I made the mistake of weighing today. I had a set back and showed a gain. I will continue on.

Hey Barbmarie, You will do great! I know you can!

I finally had a "perfect" OP day today. I go to town tomorrow, so I will need good thoughts that I will not get a sandwich with bread. I need to get a burger, no bun.
