Do you have the book? It's such a great reference source...you'll find a wealth of knowledge from these ladies...the best advice I can give you is to decide it will be your way of life and not something you can go on and off of.....persistence seems to be the key...and welcome! this site is awesome and so is everyone on it

Hi Michelle, Welcome! Glad you're joining us.

Besides 3fc.com. I go to the Atkins.com site for lots of Low carb recipes.
FitDay.com for food tracking and nutritional values of the food.
On the FoodNetwork.com site, go there and click the tv programs. You'll see the show, "Low carb and Lovin' It" There are so many fantastic LC recipes there. Some don't have time or like to cook, but I think it's important to have variety, since it's a life long commitment.

My 4 main little pieces of advice:

1)Stock up with the right foods.
2)Always be prepared.
3)Have good support, like here at 3fc (I can't be successful without it)
4)And most importantly, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Never give up.

To start off with a food list, all meats, fish, and cheeses, green salads, brocolli, a slice of bacon and eggs for breakfast, sugar free jello with real whipped cream. Although I get sick of them, the pork rinds can get you through a craving time for crunchi things and can hold sour cream dip quite nicely. And don't ever feel like you can't have a dinner type meal for breakfast if you're heading off for a busy day. I've often had chicken and salad in the morning.

Stay away from hot dogs and lunch meats in the beginning since they have sugar, nitrate/nitrites that can stall you.

When I have a real crunch craving, I take a LC totilla, spread butter on it, salt it and put it in the micro on a plate for anywhere from 4 to 6 minutes ( watch it) it puffs up like crackers do and ummm, not dries out but kinda fries....When its done, you take it out and wait a couple minutes and its just like a huge buttery cracker....dont cook it too long cuz the LC ones will get really hard.

Love that idea.....I'm guessing I can't have this during induction, but look forward to it in the future!!! What's the stand on yogurt....do you eat the low carb version or just eliminate it all together???

During induction there's to be no yogurt. There is LC stuff out there that's very good. Dannon I believe has some that's tasty

Welcome and join us in the daily chat
