Default Tuesday Chat 9/28

Can you all believe it's almost OCTOBER?? Well, by the weather here I sure can!
I'm taking the day off work today (haven't let them know that yet. lol) because I'm SO sick of my house looking like a pig stye. How the did it get to looking like this again? I HAD it cleaned up. ARGH!!!!!
I put my "earrings" in last night and of course after not having worn earrings for a while and then putting metal in bigger than a normal earring they're a "tad" on the sore side. It'll take a week or so before they quit feeling hot and icky. lol.
Well, back OP today. DEFINITELY!!!! Gotta quit giving in to the urges to eat carbs. Jeez!! And to think.....TOM's coming!! ARGH!!!!

Good morning everyone. Wasn't around yesterday...played hooky from work...just too tired. Didn't sleep well this weekend when we went away so I just couldn't bare to drag my butt out of bed yesterday when there was nothing going on at work. But back today.

Finally made an appt for my physical....had to make it with DH's doc because I just can't seem to find anyone who will fit you in THIS YEAR and who also gives a CRAP! Ahhmmmm sorry I digress! He will do my blood work and an ekg so that is all I should need for another year anyway...(already had my gyn) Then next year I can look for someone AGAIN!

Don't feel like being OP today so this is going to be a challenging day. Have all the appropriate snacks with me. Bought some of those Quaker Q-Smart bars......peanut butter chocolate chip....I am about to break into it now.....
OH MY! this could work! Not bad, not bad at all. Has the sugar alcohol thing going on but so does the Atkins bars I eat sometimes....this tastes more like a treat.

Brenda: you like chocolate...try these! Have fun ???? cleaning the house

Jane: Sorry to hear about you having to find another doc. Don't ya just hate that? We've had to switch docs this year due to insurance crap. ARGH! The doc we're going to now is the one we USED to see before he split off from our old docs office. Corporation BS ya know? Never heard of the Quaker Q-Smart bars. I'll have to look for them!

One room down. 5 more to go Some rooms are worse than others. I should start on one of the easy rooms first. There's one room that's gonna be a bear. It happens to be our bedroom It's where all the clean clothes get dumped. Yah, I know, if I'd just fold them as they came out of the dryer they'd be done with. Told ya all I was a slug. If nothing else I'm getting my exercise today

Hey, ladies!

Brenda: I get overwhelmed with house cleaning if I let it get too bad, so I've started trying to do a little each day -- we'll see how that goes...

Jane: Besides not sleeping well, did you have a fun weekend? Did you make it to the outlet mall?

Well, my big push to be OP didn't last long. I ruined it yesterday with drinking. Ugh. I went to help a friend move all of her food in the freezer to another friend's freezer (who had power). Then, we got gas for her neighbor's generator that she's sharing. They are some of the unfortunate ones that lost electricity... Anyway, after all of that, she said she needed to buy me a drink. So, we went to a beach bar where her friend is a bartender. I had a fruity frozen drink (I'm not even sure what it was) and a pina colada. I'm just sure that they had lots of sugar and LOTS of alcohol. Her friend tends to have a very long pour, and he finds it amusing to get me drunk. So after all the sugar and alcohol, we went to the baseball game where I had a very large beer. Ugh. So, I didn't eat anything off-plan, it was just all the darn alcohol! No more!!

DH is in Vegas with two of his friends... who knows what kind of trouble they're getting into! They had originally planned to go to New York to watch a Yankees game, but because of the weather, flights were full, and they couldn't make it there. (They are all airline employees, so they all fly standby for free.) Somehow, they managed to make it to Las Vegas, though... They are thinking of flying to New York today. I don't think they'll make the game, but at least they'll get to hang out there for awhile.

Anyway, it's back OP for me. No more cheating! I want to lose 30 more pounds, and I can't do it if I keep eating the way I've been eating.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Take care,
Jina

Hello Ladies! I have been doing great today! I find doing Atkins is so easy compared to the other plans I have tried. I tried Weight Watchers for awhile, but found it so hard to count points and stay within the correct point range. I was always hungry. I did not see myself being able to stick with that for the rest of my life. Atkins is the plan for me though. I will definitely be able to eat this way for the rest of my life. Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!

Jina: Yes we hit the outlets. Got new silverware at Mikasa. Love it! Is FL through being pounded with hurricanes!!!!!! Geez.

grn ize: Congrats on doing so well. I too found that on this plan I did better because I wasn't hungry all the time.

Jane: Looks like it's not just us

Jina: OMG my DH would be SOOO jealous of your DH. He wants to see an OFFICIAL Yankees game in NY. We can't afford that---which is why he got to go to MN to see the Twins VS Yankees game. Charged it..but had to once we found out the FIL had cancer. It was always BOTH their dreams..but this was the closest I could get them. And yes, I shouldn't have let the house get this bad!!

Grn_Ize: Congrats on doing well!! Keep up the good work!

Well, another room bites the dust. At this rate I'll not get them ALL cleaned!! GRRR!! I'm hoping the living room will be easier seeing as most of the stuff in there is the girls and I'll just be dumping that in THEIR rooms. I refuse to clean their rooms. It's their space--if they want privacy they need to clean it (or not) themselves. I just better not trip on anything going in to kiss/hug them goodnight So it's off to another room. lol

grn ize: Congrats on doing so well! I amazed at how satisfied I am on Atkins -- I'm like you -- I was SO hungry doing low-fat/low-cal programs. Atkins is a beautiful thing!

Jane: I sure hope so -- hurricane season goes through November, though. By the way, I've been meaning to ask you -- how is the bike riding going? I'd love to get a bike.

Brenda: DH just called -- they're not going to make it to the game -- darn hurricanes. It's been a dream of mine since I was young to go to Yankees Stadium. I was actually kind of jealous that DH got to go before me (and without me). Now I guess I don't have to be jealous anymore! You are a cleaning machine!!

Jina: The bike riding was going great until my shoulder started hurting again. I have bursitis in it and had to go get another cortisone shot in it last week. I have been trying to let it heal up a little before I hop back on. The doc did say that the bike riding might not be helping it due to weak back muscles......
Oh, well, only a few more weeks of bike riding weather I would think....getting cool around here.

I don't think i've ever even SEEN a rooster in real life, how am I gonna draw one???....well if it comes out with psychedelic feathers Im not to blame.

Hope its an OP day for everyone- onward and upward!

Jina: Kind of sounds like me and DH. He went fishing for trout (on this HUGE lake for these HUGE trout) and I didn't get to go. Which turns out to be a good thing cuz I realised....I don't like not seeing land

Marie: I wish I was artistic!! Hmm...want me to get you a picture of a rooster and send it to you? lol. I'm sure they have some pretty roosters online you could copy.

Well, another room down. 1/2 of the bathroom done (the easy part). lol. Then all that's left is our bedroom. UGH!!! Doubt that'll get done today. I'm hoping to get some clothes folded if nothing else. Then I can truly say that my day off was productive (of course, we can now eat on our kitchen table so THAT alone was productive ) . I should take pictures to remind myself of what this all looks like....before the kids get home and wreck it. lol

Oh...the reason I quit 1/2 way through the bathroom is cuz I realised I hadn't eaten lunch and was actually hungry. So I'm chomping on a couple hotdogs and then going back to cleaning. lol
