Default Monday Chat 8/30

Can you believe only 1 more day of August? There's only 2 more days of freedom for my kids before they start back to school Then next week it's the start of Girl Scouts already!! And today looks like I'll only be home an hour or so after a couple trips of running AFTER work before I have to dash off again! Girl Scout registration and school (for the youngest) registration. Dishing out more $$ I don't have!!! That's AFTER I drop off and pickup DH's car today. It has a gas leak so we've gotta pay someone to change the tank on it. *sigh* BUT!!!! I'm back on this WOE with a vengeance. DH and I had a talk last night and we BOTH realised we're not like "normal" people that can eat what they want So we're both back on LC and working at getting more weight off I'm going to do my best though!!
Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Morning Brenda: Good for you! Just take it one step at a time. It is so nice that your DH is in this with you.

Well I am on my no cheese and nuts plan for a while. It is going to be a hungry day! I am taking Acidophilus now too.....we shall see if things improve From all the research I did on Friday it sure seems like it could be my problem. When I looked at the list of symptoms I was blown away! So, I will give this a try for a while and hope things get better. Can't hurt right

I brought cucumbers and celery to snack on and some low carb yogurt. I am so used to eating cheese, pepperoni and pecans that I will probably have withdrawals! I brought in my Atkins book as well because I know he has a section in there on this.

Hope to get my bike this week.....I really need to get outside!

Good Morning Ladies

SOSDD here. The kids start school next week, I think the 7th. Lucky them

Nothing much is new, still fighting this woe. I'm not following atkins anymore, well kinda but not really. I am eating alot of veggies and fruits, eating whole wheat bread IF I do infact have it (which is rare). But mostly counting calories. I'm staying away from potatos, rice (stuff like that). It seems like the more I try to be strict, the more I'm gaining. Sooooooooo will see lol.

Hugs.

Leenie sounds like Sugar Busters to me....check out their board on 3FC's. They are a great bunch of people. I used to do that plan and talked with them daily. I also plan on taking up that approach when I am on maintenance.

Hope it works out for you.

Default Good Morning!

Hi gang!

Happy Monday! I got back to the gym today... Still not running.. well could run for 4 minutes before I the Asthma started in again But I decided that I could still walk and walked for about 40 minutes then did weights. I will take it slow.. I guess I have to!

School starts tomorrow for my kids! My dd, MY BABY starts 1st grade!! I know I am going to be a blubbering mess!

Brenda - GS starts for me on the 14th! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.. so I get a chance to settle into school before that all starts! Im glad you have a DH who is supportive through this WOE. My DH supports me on it.. but wont try it himself.. Although I do have him convinced I think to walk with me at lunch everyday once the kids are settled into school!

Jane - I am on No cheese and Nuts too! Well.. I am on induction, but I am not eating any cheese except cream cheese.. (No molds there) I honestly believe too that my asthma kicked in because of the nuts. When I started to eat the nuts again, that is when the asthma started....

Leenie - I know you have been so frustrated with all this stuff. I hope that your new WOE is working for you!

Well, Off to make breakfast for the kids. Then my DS has to go to the dentist and then one last playdate before school starts! DD and I are getting our hair cut later this afternoon!

I'll check in later!

Karen: In the research I am doing I am finding a lot of articles mention Asthma and this mold/yeast issue....among other things. I have eczema and it can cause that, I am tired ALL THE TIME and fatigue is a major symptom....I have arthritis which can also be a symptom! The list goes on and on. My asthma is really only a reaction to my allergies and will only get to me if I have exposed myself to a trigger. But if my allergies are agravated by this issue then

You should check out some articles on the web....my company site has some information on it. www.webmd.com

Brenda: You can do it! I've come to the realization that I'm not normal, too!

Jane: Hopefully, no cheese and no nuts will help you out.

Leenie: I hope you find something that works great for you. By the way, I made the broccoli salad recipe that you had posted, and it is absolutely fabulous! Thanks!

TG: This week will be better!

Karen: I hope your asthma stops giving you problems. It's good that you still went to the gym and walked.

Well, I had a fairly successful eating weekend. The only off-plan item I had was some toast, and I really didn't want to have it (I asked for no toast), but beer and no supper clouded my judgment. Ahh, well. I guess that was fairly minor. Much better than weekends in the past, anyway.

This week I am going to Georgia for a peanut tour -- they are so much fun. They always have lots of peanuts to eat, so it's nice for a change to go somewhere, and know I'll have low-carb snacks provided for me. That doesn't happen very often!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Take care,
Jina

Good morning, all!

Just flying by again since I'm training my replacement again today. I'm ready to be done with this! Just one more day.....

Brenda - Good to see you raring to go!

Jane - Hope your adjustments help!

Leenie - You'll find your groove!

TG - Hope you have a better week than weekend

Karen - Hope your asthma clears up soon!

Jina - Peanut tour? Explain!

I had a pretty fun weekend. The mob-themed birthday party was fun except for the huge fight at the end, but it didn't involve us, so I borrowed my dress from a friend and couldn't believe how good I felt in it. I'm so happy! I was even good about my eating this weekend with the exception of a few bites of potato at 3:30 in the morning. Not too shabby!

Well, I'm off for now! Have a great day, everyone!

Star: The dress was fantastic on you....so looks like you need to go shopping Glad you had fun!

Jina: A peanut tour? That sounds like fun. "sometimes you feel like a nut..."

Karen: Wow. 1st grade huh? My youngest is going to be in 4th. Done blubbering in my area They grow so fast don't they?

TG: Sounds like you had a lot of clothes to set up for the rummage sale. When do you plan on having it...next month?? lol. Better you than me. I like GOING to them...hate HAVING them.

Leenie: I wish you well on whatever you choose to do. Just remember to keep posting with us!!!!

Jane: Hope the no nuts/cheese helps you out. I never thought about the amount of cheese I eat! It's one thing I use for a snack and would be lost w/out it!!!

Well, I've made it halfway through the day and not a slip in sight SO my telling point is usually the 3rd day But I figure if I keep the attitude (and the image of me in the mirror ) I think I'll do ok (even though Ritz crackers and cheese spread is calling my name). I'm not sure what to have for supper. I'll be on the run and not home longer than 15 minutes. Maybe I should fry up a chicken breast now. Or maybe throw a LC tortilla sandwich together (I know, not induction food but better than nothing right?) and eat it on the run. This day is just BONKERS!! I don't think I have a thing to do tomorrow (Thank goodness!!) so I can relax for a little bit. I've got to sew a little carry bag for oldest DD for her calculator, colored pencils, etc so she can just fling it over her back--that's all I've got planned after work! lol

Just got the results of a test I had done last week!!!!!!!!!! I have a UTI. Damn, I was so sure that wasn't it. Now I have to take Bactrim for 7 days. Damn, damn, damn. But the good thing is that I will feel better in a couple days.

Brenda: I thought I would be lost without the cheese too but I seem to be doing fine today. I had a small amount of goat cheese in my salad at lunch but I don't think that will hurt. Glad you will have some time to relax tomorrow. Have fun sewing the bag for your DD.

StarPrincess: Again, I have to tell you how fabulous you looked in that dress. Be proud girly... Be proud! DH isn't too shabby either

Jina: I think a peanut tour would be so much fun. Just think....all the legal food you can eat! You think you were bad this weekend....I had corn on the cob last night

Jane: Sorry to hear about the UTI...hope the meds help soon! OMG I've only had sweet corn ONCE this summer!!! We used to eat that weekly.

I need a nap!!!! Plus I've got the munchies! *sigh* I brought it on myself. I'm looking forward to the boost of energy and the (hopefully) lack of appetite in a few days. lol
