Wink Thursday Chat, July 22

Good Morning

Its a beautiful hot day out already, but I'm not complaining, I'm NOT looking forward to winter so I don't care if its 100 degrees outside lol.

DD woke up this morning from an aweful nights sleep with spots all over her feet, would have never noticed but she said Daddy!!! my feet hurt??? oy. So off to the doctor late this afternoon, as soon as they can take me.

I'm so tired b/c DD has been sleeping like dodo for the past 2 weeks. I just need ONE good nights sleep. Poor thing she needs it too.

Hope your all gonna have an OP day

Leenie: Sorry to hear about DD. Are you going to ask the doc why she's not sleeping? Or what to do about it? Once she sleeps better you will too, right?

Well, I've been staying OP. WOOHOO for me!! I'm currently watching the kittens horse around. They're a hoot. Attacking each other. We didn't get any rain yesterday. And can't plant grass until Saturday. Well, that should give us enough time to find some hay to spread over it. Pretty hard due to all the rain and the farmers might need all they've managed to get so far. We'll see though.

Morning Leenie: Sorry about your poor little one. Hope she gets better soon.
It is warm here today too.

Hopped on the scale this morning and I still weigh what my signature says. I guess I am on what Atkins officially calls a stall. I don't mind really. I can kick things into action if I put a little more effort into it.
So that is next weeks plan.

I wish it was Friday.

Hi Brenda: Must have been posting at the same time. Around here the fall is the best time to plant grass seed.....I don't know if it is the same around your area. Maybe it will be a good thing that you have to put it off.
Aren't kittens a blast to watch? I hope they turn out to be great pets. Will you be letting them be outdoor cats?

Jane you sneaky woman you!! Sorry to hear about the stall. I'm sure you'll have a woosh any day now Nope, the kittens aren't going to be outside at all. ASAP they're getting fixed and de-clawed. This week (or next) they'll go in for their first shots. As for the grass? I've planted in the summer before. Just takes a little more water and some patience. lol

I'm glad the kitties are going to be inside pets. Too many things in the great outdoors that can make it very dangerous. Although all of our cats when I was growing up were outdoor cats....but still if I had one now......

How does the dog like them....usually they just look at the kittens with disinterest. It is pretty funny. Do the kittens play with the dog? My old cat used to get up on her hind legs and box with the dog. It was too funny to watch.

Good Morning Everyone!

Leenie: Sorry about you DD. Hopefully she will feel better soon! Hope that she also sleeps better soon so you can also! Enjoy the warm day! I love summer!

Brenda: Congrats on staying OP. Hope you get your grass planted this weekend! We really need to do some work in the yard, but with the way the DH is working, we never seem to have time. Guess I'm lucky that he gets it mowed each week!

Well, nothing much going on here today. Hopefully just a lazy day! I went last night looking at new vehicles. I drive a Nissan 4 door truck, and we've decided it's about time to get something different. We've had a lot of little things go wrong with this truck. Nothing major, but still the little things just keep adding up. I drove a Chevy Tahoe last night and really fell in love with it! DH hasn't seen it yet! He has to work 16 hours today, so I may go down there and get it and take it to him if they will let me. When we got this truck from the same dealership, they brought it to me at work and let us drive it for the weekend! So, if they want to really sell it, they'll let me have it today! Just hoping they can get us a good deal on it. I made sure the salesman knew last night that we had purchased 7 vehicles from that dealership over the last 20 years, so they better get their price right I love dealing with sales people. When they try to get something over on me, I bring up the fact that I worked in dealership for 3 years, and I know all their tricks ! Well, it's off to get a little laundry done. I'll check back in in a little while! Have a great day everyone!

Lisa

Jane: You snuck in on me! Good morning! Sorry to hear about the stall, but hey, I always say I'll take a stall anytime rather than a gain! Hope that you have a great day!

Our black lab is a house dog! He weighs almost 100 lbs now and he is the king of this house. Sleeps where he wants to and all. He hates being outside espiecally in the summer. He's so spoiled he wants to lay on the A/C vent all summer long. Told DH the other night it was so hot in the living room. He said I guess so....Rocky's got the vent covered up! Guess it's ok though as long as he's cool. Doesn't matter if me and DH are sitting around sweating! As long as Rocky's happy, everyone is!

Helllllloooooo chickies!

Lisa I have 4 dogs that are all indoor and they ALL hog the a/c too, hahahaha they all range in size from 95 pounds to 7 pounds so there is plenty of hoggin' going on there!

B- the baby kitties sound fun.

Jane, hope the WHOOOOSH hits you soon.

Leenie, sick kids are no fun I hope you get some sleep soon and that DD is feeling better soon.

As for me I am off to work and dreading it...awh to be on vacation again would be great. I did really well starting back on my diet yesterday. I stayed OP and didn't have any cravings. I got a taco salad for lunch and by the time I got it back to work to eat, it had beans oin it! I hate that, so I had to pick out all the beans, but other than that it was good!

Have a great day!

Warning – Long post!!

MrsH - How is your BIL doing? Better, I hope. Also how was your dinner out? Don’t you just love it when you get those nice little away times!! So exciting about getting a new vehicle. The Tahoes are really nice, I’m sure you would enjoy that one. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t let you take if for a “trip”.

Jane - I'm sorry about the pattern sizes. BUT I'm really glad you posted that. I want to start sewing again and that is good information! I've not done a bit of exercising this week. I just can't seem to get motivated. Someone give me a good kick in the behind!! I know what you mean about the numbers. I find myself competing. Why must we do that to ourselves? How do we get to the “I’m just glad I’m exercising.” Instead of the “ She has more miles than me”. It’s crazy, I tell ya! Glad you got your stitches out. I sure hope the headaches go away. 6 months worth of headaches is not something to look forward too!

Rachelearth - Thanks for the exercising tip. Read above, I'm really eaaaasing into it Funny about the equator trek miles. For me it could go either way. Sometimes it motivates me and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I just say, “oh, I’ll never catch up so why bother”. Terrible attitude. I’m dealing with that

Star - Glad you had a great time in Wyoming. Nice, but strange trip huh? Going back on induction…I’ve never seemed to master that. Once I started adding in other foods, it’s so hard to get back to induction! Congratulations on the contract renewal. I know that has got to be a huge relief for you. Any interesting future prospects? Oh my, I’m imaging you sitting in your window waving your undies at passersby and asking them to take a whiff. I know that is extreme, but oh the picture it brought into my head!!

Leenie – (((((hugs))))) I had to change my chickie back also, when I bought a new scale. It was discouraging, but we can do this!!! I just get up every morning and tell myself today will be a great eating day. Of course, today, I’m starving, didn’t pack my lunch, have nothing but a checkbook and have not idea who takes checks. The worst days are unplanned days, so pray for me today  Congratulations on the treadmill!!! I hope your daughter is feeling better!! I makes me hurt when my boys are sick or feeling bad. I just can’t stand it!

***Leenie and Jane – A lady in our church is collecting little boys jeans and making handbags from them. They are the cutest things. She cuts the legs off right at the crotch and sews up pockets and all. Then uses the extra material from the legs to make a short to medium handle for the bag. They are just the cutest!!!

Love – OH my do I know what you mean!! We went camping with some friends. After the kids when to bed we had a few drinks and ended up calling Domino’s to the campsite at 2AM!!!! I have sworn off alcohol for a few weeks while I get back on track!!

Brenda – Congratulations on the kittens!!! Did you ever get pictures of it? I’m glad all the kittens found a home and the mom will be taken care of! Hope you get the air conditioning and the dirt taken care of. Wouldn’t it be great if little elves really DID do those things while we slept How’s the job hunting going? If you ever find that “taste like the real thing” brownie recipe let me know. I do so miss my brownies!!! I had some in a package (Atkins, I think) and I’ll just be polite and say EWWWWWWW!!

Julie – Too bad you have to avoid the computer lab. (Actually I’d be happy about it until it was crunch time ) Scotland (dreamy look in my eyes) ahhhh…. I’m dying to take my children to England. My DH and I lived there for 2 years when we were first married and I would so love to take my children there!! Maybe someday!!!

Stephanie – Welcome!! Don’t you just love kids and swimming. I’m with you. I love to take them because I know they will sleep, sleep, sleep! Not to mention the fact that they absolutely love to swim.

TG – Glad you had a good get away!!

Laura – Now I think everyone is officially back from various vacations and we all need to get serious about those “couple” of pounds. Welcome back!

Well today was ALMOST a bad day. I deliver equipment all over the hospital and I had to pick up some equipment form this one conference room that some left a box of cake doughnuts in!!! My favorite!!! I actually started to reach for one and then RAN out of the room. PHEW! I saved myself this time. I really have to start remembering to buy snacks to put in the fridge here. Well, my stepmom is coming tonight for a visit. Probably for 3 or 4 days. My boys are really excited. My DH is not. The last time she was here (2 Years ago) the two of them had a big blowout in our front yard (wonder what the neighbors thought)! He swore she would never step foot in the house again! But he seems to have mellowed and it looks like things may go smoothly. See seems to be behaving herself and to have turned over a new leaf. Needless to say I’m more than a little tense about it. I’m going grocery shopping tonight to get all the “right” food for us to stay on program this week. She really likes to cook and it’s usually all the breaded fried southern crap that I grew up eating (which is why I ended up close to 200 lbs anyway)! But she has been dieting also and knows that we eat healthier now, so hopefully she will just sit back and let me do the cooking. Except for the days she cooks the boys cat. Now, don’t get upset…she is just a big joker and she takes beef chunks and cooks them and tells my boys it is cat. You should see the looks on their faces. They are mortified! But they try it anyway. Ok, enough I’ve gone on long enough. I have more to say, but it will have to wait until later so you guys don’t have to keep on reading this one post

Lori: Congrats on the doughnut save!! Doubt I'd have had that much willpower! I'm not actively looking for another job. This one might have just fallen into my lap. I'm going in a little while to visit my SIL to see what she does--to see if I even want to put my application in.

TG: Keep up the good work staying OP! Don't ya hate the dreaded hidden beans?

Lisa: The dealers around here at least let you test drive them for a day if they know you're showing it to your spouse. They think they've got the sale in the bag when you do that Good luck w/the new Tahoe!!

Jane: The dog isn't allowed around them much. They're baby-gated into one room for now when I'm not home. The first day she thought they were rats or something and tried to take a nip out of one. So we're watching her very close. Hoping that she just learns to "ignore" them when they DO get to venture farther into this house. lol Right now they're hiding on my daughters Those kids sure do love them already. Going to spoil the kittens to death

Looks like I don't go today to see SIL @ work. She said they wouldn't have time to show me around and show me what she does today. ARGH!! I wanted to get it "done and over". Maybe it's a sign I'm not supposed to get a job there.
