Hi Chris, I'm on day 5 of Atkins. I sure hope I have 9 pounds gone in eleven days. I did weigh today and I've lost 3.5 so far and hopefully more by this weekend. I'm really pushing the water. I found flavored water called Fruit2 O and its in Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry and Lemon, with absolutely no calories, fat, carbs, sugars or anything. There's 16 ounces in a bottle and it sure helps to get in my daily intake of 64 ounces plus a couple more. I also plan on staying with the low carbs. Had a headache today, but it went away after a Tylenol. I've been reading low carb posts and I believe there is a sugar free peanut butter on the market. I think that's the one we're supposed to have. I also went to the Atkins URL and they mailed me a neat catalog with all of their supplies in it for sale. You might want to get that. At least it can give you some ideas. Another thing I've found is www.LowCarbFriends.com and I've learned a lot there also. I tried one of their recipes yesterday for a crustless pizza and it was delicious. My DH liked it also. Good luck and keep in touch.

many thanks for the url for carb friends lolow38, brilliant site. Hope you're having a good day. it's weird but i've lost my appetite.I don't have any cravings at all but i do plan to reintroduce low carb beers from monday cos i'm a bit of a drinker and miss it a lot.if the beer thing stil allows me to lose i think i'll carry on induction for at least another week.I'm off to tenerife on july 30 and i'd like to have lost another 12lbs by then.I still will look big in my swimming cossie but i know its a weight where i don't constantly hate myself or feel people are looking at me.the flavoured water things an excellent idea, i'm gonna try it. keep going .
thanks lady adnerb for your encouragement,my low self esteem even reaches into the computer arena so i'm grateful for your welcome

Welcome Brook1lyn,

I believe the pnut butter you can have is Natural, just read the back of the jar to make sure no sugars are added. Also, skippy came out with a low carb pnut butter sweetened w/splenda, not bad at all.

You can find us on the daily boards every day and I'm looking forward to seeing your posts because each of us brings our own inspiration there to share.

Hugs !!

AND WAY TO GO !!! on the weight loss so far....

I think with weight gain a lot of people tend to be self-conscious and have low self-esteem. Well, I can personally speak for myself in that aspect anyway! So feel welcome to post in the daily chat, ask questions and just be yourself We're all friendly here. And the more weight you lose the better you'll feel about yourself. Yup, personal experience talking again. Not going to say you'll NEVER feel down about yourself again. But you're at least starting on the road to helping yourself. Congrats & welcome

Flavored water counts towards the water count???? Then shouldn't tea and SF Kool-Aid???

Cool

Just had to jump in and say hi and WELCOME!

First of all - try to drink STRAIGHT, PLAIN water - need to get used to is, with no added sugars/flavors (okay maybe a slice of lemon )

Other things to avoid are processed/prepared foods at least for a while.

Not sure if peanut butter is on the induction menu? (don't think it is??) and while sugar free is best try to avoid those HORRIBLE TRANS FATS - which are lurking under the name "non-hydrogenated" fats, etc. These are very bad for you and you are better off eating "natural" peanut butter (just peanuts in other words).

Some sites you may wish to visit include: www.fitday.com for logging in your eating for the day, www.atkins.com and www.atkinsbythebook (lots of info and recipes).

Good luck!
