How will I ever figure this out!!!!!!! Ok, so even on your list I only eat a few of the things on there.......so I still think I am low. But now the question is, if I take a regular multi then I will be over 100% of my daily requirement.....so can I get a supplement that is lower than that? Off to do more investigating!
I always have Princess tips! Here's a few for starters.
1. Always have a tiara nearby. I keep a couple at home, one in my office, and one in my car. It's wonderful as a pick-me-up when performing any unpleasant tasks (cleaning, work, driving in traffic)
2. Own at least one t-shirt that declares your royal status. I wear one on every Friday to prevent people from forgetting.
3. Princess Nights (or afternoons) are essential! At least once a month, put on something ridiculously girly and your tiara. Go out with other Princesses for a meal, movie, tiara shopping, or whatever. Or bask in your own regal-ness at home. **Special note: during Princess time, it doesn't matter what you're drinking, but it must always be out of a champagne glass**
4. Never be afraid to act like a Princess. There's a fine line between fun and *****y here. If you need pointers, watch some drag queens. They've got it down perfectly.
Brenda - Iron is needed for your red blood cells to properly transport oxygen to your various parts. Not enough iron = not enough oxygen = tired out princess.
Jane - Have you thought about staying with your iron-free multi and then either taking a separate supplement just for the iron? You munch on some of the Total Protein cereal or something like that, too.
Ok, I found a great Princess T on ebay. Unfortunately it's an XL and I'm not. So, anyone looking to be more Princess-y, here's a pic and a link.
I finally got my chair (my MIL and FIL gave it to me a couple years ago) from my in-laws house (yes, they gave it to me but I've never managed to get it home ) home. I sat in it the other day and told DH "I feel like a queen. Do I look like one." So maybe I should get a tiara and see if that helps
So the reason I'm tired all the time could be because of lack of iron. And the reason I get pooped out when exercising could be lack of iron. Interesting!!
I love that t-shirt. I printed it out. I think I'll have to buy a tshirt and make up a tshirt transfer!!!
ok, I am calm now......I have gone over my log with a fine tooth comb and have discovered that YES I am still only getting like 5 grams a day. So, final question........
If I take a multi with iron in it I will be over the daily requirement
If I take a supplement they all have 18mg in them so I would be in the same boat.
I could start eating bushels of spinach each day but.......BLECK!
A less common and very serious problem, found more often in men, is caused by excessive absorption and retention of iron. Men who have this problem have an inherited genetic defect in their ability to regulate the absorption of iron. The result of an iron overload condition can be fatal. The disease often goes undiagnosed because iron overload shows up on a Blood test as low hemoglobin, just like iron depletion. Here is an example of a good reason to not self diagnose health problems.
Normally, there is no great danger in ingesting a toxic amount of iron from food. Intakes of 25 to 75 mg. a day are not going to cause a problem in a healthy and active adult. Too much iron supplement, however, can be lethal and the younger the person who ingests the extreme dose of iron supplements, the higher the possibility of a lethal dose. Thousands of children in the United States are accidentally poisoned each year by swallowing too many iron tablets. In fact, iron is the most frequent cause of poisoning deaths among children in the United States.
'So go ahead and take your iron' is how I read that.
I know! I have to say if there is one great thing I have learned on this WOE whether it "works" or not is about my nutrition.
First I learned I needed a vitamin in the first place, then I learned my calcium was too low. Now I have learned a valuable lesson in iron.
If nothing else I will have come away from this experience with a greater knowledge of what it takes to be healthy.
Speaking of healthy....how can they say this WOE isn't healthy when I have learned more on this than on anything! Weight Watchers sure never taught me this much!
