Welcome Andi!

Check out the FAQ at the top of our little forum. It will answer a lot of questions, but I don't think alcohol is in there.

A little bit once in a while is not a big deal. Your body will burn the alcohol before anything else so if you drink alot, you'll really slow yourself down. Other than that, watch the carbs. Wine and beer still have some. That's why I stick with vodka

Question newbee

Hey Vodka always works for me too !!!! How much weight do you think is normal per week ??? I'm 5ft 4in was 220lbs now weighing 213lbs after a week. I started walking on my treadmill today and I'm hoping to lose more per week. What sounds like normal weight loss to you ???

Just dropping a quick note to say Hi, I haven't had much time to read through all the posts so I'll be back later. I want to get outside and get a walk in before it starts to pour. My luck with the great outdoors hasn't been the best lately.
The good news is today is my 3rd month on Atkins and I don't think a 40.5 pound loss is to shabby. I'm getting so excited that I only have 10.5 pounds to get to one-derland. It's so close I can taste it!! Okies before the ole body dies down and losses energy I'm out and about. Hope everyone is having a fine day

There is no "normal" weight loss.

Here's the 2 things you can expect:

1 - you will probably lose more in the first week or two than any other week. That's because you're losing water.

2 - no matter how quickly you lose at the beginning, you will slow down as you get closer to your goal

fullfig: So great seeing you around again! Congrats on your continued weight loss success! We miss you (and supersized, too)!!

Lisa: Hope you are having a fantastic day!

Brenda: Hope your day with the witch went better than expected.

Shimma: I hope your sinuses clear up -- I had so much trouble with allergies before I moved here, so I know what you're dealing with -- it's miserable. That's so exciting about the BF, you and the cottage. Hope you have a great time!

Jane: Glad you are excited to get back to this WOE. I know what you mean about dreading getting back onto other plans.

TG: Congrats on the clothes falling off! (That sounds funny...) You're doing such a great job!

Star: Hope you get to feeling better, and I hope you can get some sleep.

andimac8: A very warm welcome to you!

Marie: No worries. I thought the exact same thing! Everyone talks about gaining weight when they quit smoking, so I thought the opposite would be true -- if I started smoking, I would lose weight. I never tried out the theory, thank goodness. I am a very occassional drinking smoker, though.

Trazzie: You are doing so awesome!! 40.5 pounds in three months is incredible!! Way to go!!

I've been at a meeting most of the day. Since I work out of my apartment, it's kind of nice to get out and actually see people. But at the same time, I don't like getting out of my routine and having to dress up.

Oh, something actually exciting for work -- I get to go to Buffalo for a meeting in May, and I get to go to Niagra Falls. I've always wanted to go there, so I'm excited. The meeting is basically a half a day, but they are paying for two and a half days there and scheduled the Niagra Falls tours for us. We get to go on the Maid of the Mist, which was in "Bruce Almighty," one of my favorite movies, so it's kind of cool to do what Jim Carrey did (since I love him so much). I'm probably a pretty sad person...

My dad got me an Atkins cookbook, so I'm anxious to try out some recipes. The spinach and artichoke dip is calling my name.

Well, I hope everyone is having a fabulous Wednesday!

Take care,
Jina

Thank you for the well wishes, Jina! 1000mg of ibuprophin worked wonders

Well it's almost time to blow this popsicle stand!

Star: hope tomorrow finds you feeling better.

Jina: Niagra Falls...that's sounds awesome. How lucky.

Trazzie: Congrats on your 3 month anniversary!

Andi: Welcome. You will love it here.

Marie: Welcome to you too. As for alcohol we all know I have NEVER given up my wine even on induction. I paid the price by losing slower but I have still lost. Just try to find an alternative. I have gotten into Thin Ice. LOVE that stuff and only 1 gram per bottle.

Theo'sgirl: I am going to "bite the bullet" and get on the scale on Friday...my regular weigh in day. I will face the music then change my signature! Damn.

fullfig: Again, how nice it is to hear from you. We will hope for good news soon!

Shimma, Brenda & Mrs. H.: Hello again

Well, have a good night all. I am off to go shopping. I wish I was down and I could do more clothes shopping but that is NOT going to happen for a couple of weeks. Damn.

Well I have had a really crappy food week! I got the Carb-Rite candy this weekend and ate most of it and had a craving for Fried Chicken and well I ate it two days and I am completely out of Ketosis. It is amazing how quickly that can happen. Got to get back OP, haven't been that bad and have not gained any back I think it has been TOM sneaking up and causing some more than normal cravings. DD started this AM so I suspect I will in the next couple of days and the cravings will depart. I am going back to ful-fledged induction after this past weekend, I will probably stay on that until I reach goal I just loose better that way. Staying under 20 carbs keeps me losing...

I slept all day today so I have some "chores" to do before going into work... Hope everyone has had and continues to have a good day.

Amy

Ok. I'm never gonna catch up here. So to all The witch is still alive. I love it when she tries to suck up to me while the other boss is gone. She's such a hoot when she does that. The pumpkin recipe is now in the recipe section. I can't make it too much or I'll become addicted to that also. lol. My DH ate a piece....and then proceeded to mow another piece down. So looks like when I DO make it I'll have to make a double batch. lol. It's still dreary. I had a headache ALL day. I bought a Dt Mt Dew after work and it seems to have taken care of the headache. Weird!!! I'm also not hungry--so not sure what I'm going to do about supper. Probably a small salad. Maybe I'll be able to go w/out dessert (yah right!) lol.

My in-laws just stopped over. Seems the FIL has to have his prostate taken out. He'll find out this week when. the MIL was hesitant when she said they'd probably need help. I could kick them in the butt (no pun intended) cuz I've told them OVER and OVER that FAMILY DON'T NEED TO HESITATE TO ASK FOR HELP. That's what family is for in my mind (of course, that's not how DH's or my family works. But it's the way DH and I are). So that's the update
