morning to all
Well I unfortunatly am working all weekend. ICKKKKKKKK. Kids go back to school Monday am and that one I am looking forward to. Not that they were bad or anything just it keeps them busy and since we have had crappy weather with all that snow and now a big meltdown they can't even go outside. I think March Break should be in April when chances are weather is better.
Got J's room almost finished he is back in it now just need to organize. Man can a 12 yo collect JUNK.

Ohhhhhhhhh THE GOOD NEWS. I am down 2 lbs this week to 165-166. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Morning all!
Hi Leenie!
Well, I'm up embarassingly early. Yesterday's dinner went really well. Both of my hebrew tutors and the roomie wound up joining the celebration, so it was a kosher, a veggie, a catholic durring lent, and myself at an Italian restaraunt. There was litterally nothing on the menu that all of us could eat. Made it very difficult to order an appetizer. But I stayed on track, though I may have over-indulged a bit in the broccoli rabe since they brought out so much and it was yummy. But I find it hard to work up a lot of guilt over green vegetables. Yet another good thing that happened yesterday is that I went running for the first time in months, because the only thing open at my gym was a treadmill. I expected it to be horrible, but I ran 2 miles and it felt pretty good. I guess I'm not quite as out of shape as I thougt I was.
Hope your days are all getting off to a good start!
Abbie

Good morning Leenie!!!

Good morning everyone to come!

Had a wonderful night out last night with both dh and dd at TGI Fridays where I indulged in the both the Tuscan Spinach Dip and Buffalo Wings. Isn't it interesting how, when you've been so very careful and cutting carbs to beat the band........having something "legal" can still feel like indulging!?!?!?!?!

Pet Peeve::::::: Watched TV last week while grading papers (will never admit to this one even if you rat me out) and caught an episode of something called Extreme Makeovers. Don't know why I didn't change the channel on that one knowing how I feel about body image. Anyhow, there was one woman who was given some surgery on her tummy -- both lipo and a tuck. But she looked like she was at least 30 pounds overweight!!!!!!!! How could a surgeon agree to do such invasive surgery when what she obviously needed was a change in how she treats her body? I think of such surgery as a last resort, and nothing I saw indicated that she had at least tried diet and exercise before going under the knife. (The face plastic surgery I understood, it's the body I'm worried about!) Hey, I'm all for liposuction, but I think a person needs to prove that he/she has been on a particular plan and regularly exercised and STILL can't get rid of that area of fat before they bring in the Hoover to finish the job!

Well, that certainly feels better! I'll check in later to make sure all you chickies are having a good day....

jccj- Good morning to you too! I've never even heard of March Break. My school always did it in April. Though now at college I've also got this crazy February break that all the elementary school kids around here get too. But congrats on the 2 lbs. That's fantastic.

Ooppps -- some of you snuck in:

jjcj: Maybe your 12 year old and my 9 year old could hold a joint swap meet!

Abbie: Your restaurant story sounds like the beginning to a very excellent joke. A Jew, a Catholic, and a Vegan walk into an Italian restaurant....... Don't worry, I won't go there. I'm the product of a Jewish mother and a Catholic father, so if there's one thing I understand it's how to eat corned beef and cabbage with a little chopped liver on the side! Good on the run, girl! I would have passed out at the 1/2 mile marker. I admire your chutzpah (sp?).

Spedmom- Deffinately felt like the setup of a bad joke last night. I am completely addicted to Extreme Makeover. They make it seem like such a big deal that these people are able to lose so many pounds and inches, but anyone could do that if they were having the fat sucked out of them with a hose. I want to see what they look like a year from now. Also, it might just be me, but I feel like everyone who goes on that show comes out looking like the same person.

Holy Smokes Batman!! There's a lot of people up and at 'em already!!

Spedmom: I don't watch shows like that. But I also agree, people should be made to TRY first. I've always talked about having a boob reduction, but when my sisters said, well why don't you, I tell them because no DR (well, no DR I'd want to go to anyway!) would do that unless I lost some weight first. They never used to be this big! UGH! Thank God they're getting a LITTLE smaller!

Abbie: There's NO way I can even do ONE mile (or a half, or a 1/4) running on the treadmill. I'm ashamed to admit I'm a NON-exerciser. I know I know. With this WOE I'm supposed to. And it'll get to the point where I'll have to exercise or not lose anymore weight (can you imagine how much weight I'd lose if I DID exercise?? ). Congrats on achieving that

jjcj: congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!! Don't wish the weekend away TOO fast!! It just got here and I'd like to enjoy it! lol

Leenie: how ya doing?

Well, the weekly WI arrived. I'm up 1 pound. But with TOM around here somewhere I'm blaming it on that! I'm just glad the chocolate I've scarfed down (ugh. I was bad last night and ate a WHOLE Atkins bar. And I dont' know why cuz it didn't even TASTE that good! Not after the zbar anyway!). So I'm going to do my best to stay AWAY from chocolate. Maybe if I need some I'll have hubby dish me out a little chunk of the bars. That way it's not ALL in my hand. lol. Well, the get-together and the parade are today. Luckily the sun is out so I'm in a halfway decent mood. lol. I'm just hoping that they don't have food. I think I'm going to treat myself to a DT Mt Dew! It sounds SOOOO good right now! And the caffeine'll keep me bouncing ALLLLLL day.
You all have a great weekend

Good Morning all!

And I thought I would be the early riser! I was up at 5:00 AM with a sinus headache... but you all beat me. But most of you are in different Time zones too!

Yesterday was really busy! But I am glad it is over and Today is a new day! I need to get cracking on my Kids school website. I did a major overhaul yesterday on some of the background processes and it messed up a very important part of the site. ::Sigh::

I'll be checking in later, so I will get more personal then! Just wanted to say

Good Saturday Spring Morning Everyone

Brenda- Having your DH get you your servings of chocolate isn't a bad idea. When I do break down and make the chocolate whip stuff I have 5 very small dishes I scoop it into. I have one and then each of the kids and DH has one which leaves me with NO leftovers. Or if they dont want it I cover it and put it in the back of the fridge..It really helps on the portion control! Instead of sitting down to an huge bowl that I have to force myself to stop eating, I eat my little one and I'm done

Jjcj - Way To Go! 2 more pounds gone! WOO HOO!

Leenie - Spring is FINALLY here! YEAH! (now if the snow would melt )

Sped - That irritates me to no ends as well. I'm sure that a year from now these people on that show will look the same. If you don't actually have to go through the battle then the victory will be taken advantage of and in the end the war will have been lost. Ok that was sappy but you know what I mean

Genghis - Running? WOW gratz! I would have turned on the darn thing and collapsed! It still amazes me that I used to be on a track team. Yes there was a time in my life I was healthy, fit and I could run. I'd like to find that person again. Someday.. ah yes someday I will meet her in the mirror once more.

Karen - Sinus headach ick! Those things can be a killer. Good luck with the site. It doesn't sound like your off to a very good start this morning. Hope things pick up for ya.

So today I have my sisters bridal shower to go to.. another blessed event containing all those little nibbles of sin. I know I wont cheat, I have grown pretty confident in myself about things like this. Amazes me truely. I'll just have to eat something before I go so the temptation is limited, because it will be right over lunch. I have wrapped up a few gag gifts which had me laughing all night.. haha this is going to be funny. To bad to go into detail here tho..
The sun actually looks like its shining so I think I'm going to put a load of laundry in and see if I can sneak in a bikeride before we go. I want to take advantage of it because tomorrow it's supposed to be back to crapola.
Everyone have a great first day of spring!

Morning

First, have a great trip Jane, not sure when you're leaving but travel safe and try to be your best OP self. (hope all your stuff goes well)

Karen - can they just sort of take your sinus right out? I mean really, do you need them for anything important? Hang in there, but you're an old hand at it so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Brenda - show a little Irish pride for me, I'm full blood Irish only 2nd generation here and my grandfather razzes me constantly about not having enough pride in it. I'll just tell him you're flag waving for me today He's gonna flip now, I don't eat potatoes!

GC - I'm not sure if you said, but how did the hair turn out? Hope you like it. Congrats on the run too, I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can see what this ol'body can do, in high school I ran an hour and a half every morning and I'm just itching to get back out there.

Paula - Here, there's one for each of us, I saw that show too and omg, it's so very much what this society is about now a days and it just drives me up the wall. I remember when liposuction was not so common b/c no one had the fortitude to do what they had to do to get it done, ummm like actually exercise! It pi**es me right off when ppl think that's the way to a better body image, ****, I've lost 58lbs in 8 months and still think I'm heavy, body image don't change overnight! Grrrr.

jjcj - so how's the green room? well at least you got the luck of the irish in there. wtg on the 2lbs, awesome! Have a great weekend.

Leenie - Hi that's about as close to spring as we're gonna get up here for awhile but it is such a nice thought.

My day off yesterday was great, had a fabulous time with df. Went shopping at Old Navy, even though that store gives me the worst kind of rash, I heard they had capri yoga pants which I'm in desperate need of for my pilates. Although I doubt I'll ever like the store just on smell alone, I did find some awesome workout pants and a tank top, the kicker is that they were mediums! I've never been a medium anything except maybe medium in the severely overweight category. Got some new pilates videos and a yoga one for some more stretching which this body really needs about now so I'm off to do some working out ckickies, and I don't have to trip on my pants anymore, happy day.

Well, the get together with my cousins went better than I expected. They weren't as snobby now as they were when I was growing up. I did end up walking in the parade. I even had a set of bobbly 3 leaf clovers on my head. It was WAYYYY cold out and now I'm freezing. Came home and heated some water up and dumped some no carb (and it's got no calories!!) chocolate sauce in. It wasn't too bad!!!! So not only did I warm up I got my chocolate fix I'm starting to get cold again though. lol. I think I put on a mile today so I'm claiming that for the equator trek. At least I've logged SOMETHING this month.

Happy Sunday ladies,

Well I am up early to write and appeal letter for my DH to the unemployment office, the company DH worked for before are a bunch of lying a**holes and they appealed his un-employment and now unless we appeal they want us to pay it back, like 1000.00 bucks. So I have to write a letter to them about what happened.

Last night went out to dinner with friends and we were suppoed to go to the Hometown buffet, and it was really busy but there is always plenty for me to eat there, they didn't want to wait so we ended up at the Chinese Buffet, I tried like heck to stay OP, but everything has sauce so who knows what my carb count was, my sis takes these pills when she gets into this kinda situation they are a carb blocker pill and she claims they work, so I told her give me some so we will see if it helped.

HOpe when all you sleepy heads wake up you have a great Sunday!! Off to the gym and to pet sit the scotties I am watching this week.
