Supersized - you have lost, on the average, over a pound a week! That is not measley! It is best to lose slowly, you are more likely to keep the weight off and it is the healthiest way. I think you are doing well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I just had to try out this site since Fullfig talks so excitedly about it. I think it is great. Yes Jennifer I think you might be my other twin. I'm gonna make more of an effort to exercise more and resume the 1000 cal plan again. I need help in coming up with some alternative meals though. I've got to figure out how he calculates the high fat to protein ratio. If none of you have tried it --it is a challenge for the first 2-3 days. I stayed on it for 6 days when I did it previously. The payoff was 5 pounds. Atkins says that needs to followed by the 1200 cal plan. I wasn't able to do that but I will this time. I might even stick to the 1000 cal for two weeks instead of 4-5 days. If anyone else has resorted to the 1000 cal torture, I would love to hear how you did with it. Good luck!

Well girls I'm on atkins too, I've lost only 2 lbs in the past 5 weeks. It seems I'm getting hungrier and hungrier. In order for me to lost anything my calories have to be really low and OY what a hard time I'm having doing that.

Maybe if I get my mouth wired

1 lb a week would be a dream to me.

the more you have dieted the harder it is for your body to get into the swing of losing just keep on plugging and remember that if you do not give it a try then where will you be at this time next year.

and I do not have any family that is willing to follow the low carb, but I do have many family here. all of these girls here are my family by mind and heart if not by blood.

(HI GIRLS I AM BACK AGAIN) REMIND ME TO TELL YOU HOW I COUGHT MY HOUSE ON FIRE AND BLEW THE POWER OT FOR ALMOST A WEEK!!

Fullfig, yes I am glad we didn't bet on our weight loss this time. You're leaving me in the dust. I'm glad for you though.

Leens, hang in there. I'm a slow loser too. I've been on Atkins for 12 1/2 weeks and have lost 18 pounds. Some weeks I don't lose anything. I was telling Jen on Friday's daily thread about Atkins Fat Fast. I did it for 6 days and lost 5 pounds. It is very restrictive and he tells you exactly what to eat. The first 3 days are the hardest. If you are interested, go to atkinscenter.com and go to overcoming obstacles section; or you can do a search for fat fast. I will be start this regimen on Monday. I'll keep you posted on how it's going. Good luck!

My 17 yo daughter has joined me to do Atkins - I've done it before and lost almost 30 pounds, but got away from it the past year or so and gained back. She doesn't have alot to lose, but is alot of support for me.

I'm working hard on getting water drank every day - we are accountable to each other and that really helps. PLUS I don't have to make different food for each of us. She likes different foods, so we are experimenting with new recipes from my cookbook. That way we won't get bored with the same old things. It is a good way to get burned out and feel deprived.

TGIF - this week really has gone by fast. We have an agreement that if we stay with no cheats for the two weeks of induction - we will go out to dinner for a Southwest Chicken Salad at Applebee's at the end of the two weeks.

We have a special occasion October 19th, so we have both set mini-goals to reach by then. If we make goal, we get a new dress for the occasion.

Fat Fast is going well. Since I started on Monday I have lost 3 pounds. YAE! It's tough but definitely has a pay off. Supposedly, my metabolism will be working as it should after one round each of the 1000 and 1200 calorie regimens. Good luck gals!

Hey Sue !! Nice to see you too

I just wanted to let you guys now that I spoke with the Ladies from 3FC's and they are considering an Atkins Thread here YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! They will let me know as soon as they can. It will be great because it will hopefully attract some more folks who are doing atkins and the more folks the more help and support for us all. I'm looking forward to it.

Last week (Sunday) I weighed in and I am happy to say I am down 2 1/2 lbs its been a long 5 week struggle. I find the more I stay with basic foods and dont go to the low carb candies, etc... you know stuff like that, I do much better.

I am addicted to Carb Wise candy bars though. There's not alot of chocolate on them but they are thick and crunchy (i only like the smores flavor, the others are GROSS). So I am eating them sparingly.

I really want to buy the atkins bake so I can start making pizza, small ones but none the less loaded up w/veggies and pepperoni, oh I'm drooling already.

How are you guys doing w/your vitamins, are you taking them ?

Congratulations on your 2 1/2 pound loss and thanks Leens! I lost another pound today. You might want to check GNC for Atkins bake. Someone at work said that if you had one of their memberships that you could get a better price on Atkins products. I haven't been there yet to check it out. I had thought about getting together withe coworkers to go in on a membership so we could all save money on Atkins products. I need a few more details though.

Hey girls! :-)

My s/o said something to make my heart melt yesterday

"Baby....I want to start Atkins too, because I want to be healthy with you so you will reach your goals this time"

This is coming from my little devil dog, who ate ben and jerrys (my old fave) and french bread in front of me .....saying..."baby you know you want some, have some!" WOW what a change, this is after I followed the ever wise Dr. Phil's advice in telling your "potential sabotogers" how you feel! IT WORKED!

All I can say is that really touched me, now we are planning on beating our weight gain together for ultimate support! YEY!
