Hi everyone,

I am getting so many fresh squash, corn on the cob and tomatoes that I have been giving it away to the neighbors. It is seriously more than we can use and I'm using it every night. My Okra is growing but not quite ready yet. I made home-made Mexican cornbread last night (although it's fattening) and I skipped my grilled pork chop since I wanted a slice of the cornbread. I got the fresh jalapenos from my garden to put in it. I am just loving gardening. It sure takes the guesswork out of "what's for dinner?". LOL, it's fresh veggies, salad and grilled meat every night.

It has been raining here several times a day. I have been exercising a lot with my hula hoop. My tummy is actually sore from using it so much. I'm using it 30 min's each day and anytime I watch TV, I use it during each commercial. I hope this rain will go away and I can get back to walking the steep hill again soon.

Ladies, you all are doing so well and will be in smaller clothes soon. It took me a long time to get here, but it was worth it.

My house is quieter for a few days. My 18 yr. old SD left to the Coast Guard today. My DS will be home next Monday.

My 15 yr. old DD and 15 yr. old SD decided they wanted to share a bedroom. So , last night they cleaned Lacy's room up and moved Shelbey's bed in there too. I wonder how long this will last? LOL. Shelbey loves a clean room and Lacy doesn't. I have 2 extra bedrooms and they still want to share a room. They have been "sisters" since they were 5 yrs. old, and these girls are Very close.

I'm hanging in there. Still not the lowest of carb options but lower than I'd have normally so I'm counting it good. Just need to get food in the house and we all know how expensive it is to eat LC. Hope you all have a great weekend

Hi Ladies -

I have a question. I made a marinade for my chicken. The marinade in total has 6 carbs. I am using 6 chicken breasts in it and most of the marinade is left in the dish. How man carbs would you count for each piece of chicken?

Thanks
Nikki

Nikki, just to be safe, I'd count 1 carb for each piece of chicken I ate.

Hi everyone, we had a great time at the country club pool yesterday. I swam laps for 2 hrs. and just would rest a few min's when I would get really tired. It sure felt great. I didn't worry at all about being seen in my swimsuit, or about being/looking/feeling too fat. There were 2 men (total strangers,LOL) that were doing laps and I just got beside them and kept right up. They didn't tell me to go away. LOL. It felt so good to feel comfortable swimming in public and not feel the need to hop in and then throw my towel up on the side. We're going again this afternoon. I may get some suntan on this white body after all, LOL. (We usually just swim at the lake and jump off of the boat). DH came over to the pool after he played golf. He actually told me "you look better in that swimsuit that any of the other women here". This just simply made me feel good even though I'm sure it's not true. Me, Lacy and Shelbey did our make-up before going swimming. LOL, we wanted to look our best.

Lily - Way to go on the swimming. I love swimming. I am hopefully going back to swimming this weekend. I figured I should count each piece as 1 carb. Thanks for your response.

Nikki

Hey everyone!! I don't think I've checked in yet this week.

speaking of swimming, we have a pool at our apt complex and I've been going on the weekends and try to get over there after work every day if there aren't too many people there. Sure helps to cool off and get some great exercise!

Well, I went to the Dr. yesterday for my weigh in/check up and I've lost 10lbs and my blood pressure was down!! I told her that the phentermine she prescribed didn't do anything for me....I took it for a month and then I quit it and started doing low carb so the 10 pounds I had lost in the last month was from doing low carb...she was very pleased.

So i'm trying to stay OP...i've been able to refuse the donutes, cookies and cakes, etc that are always in our office. I work in a Dr. office so the drug reps are always bringing something in for us.

Hi,
I'm still hangin' in there.

Lily, I'm sure your husband was right.
I love swimming to, but haven't gone in a long time.
