Starting over again
Due to a bout with emotional eating issues I allowed my weight to get out of hand again and I am ready to do something about it. However, I've just had it up to here with plans that forbid fresh fruit - especially in the summertime when cherries are coming ino the market. You have to act fast with cherries, the season isn't that long, and towards the end of the season the stores here look picked over.
I seem to do well with menues, having someone tell me what to eat. I actually found one that made sense in an issue of Quick and Simple magazine. It was a choice of 1200 or 1500 calories and seemed pretty balanced. They only give you one week of that, then I'm going back to my Volumetrics book. I also ordered some of the old Picture Perfect weight loss books after seeing one of them in the library. It looks like the exact same program as Volumetrics. I'm thinking of repeating week 1 in all of them so I can use up the leftovers - there's only two of us in the household!
Some things hubby won't eat, like a portobello mushroom sandwich. He likes veggies, but not in place of meat on a bun.
Also, the point of Volumetrics is a lot of food, which is great for me since I like to eat. But sometimes hubby gets put off by a mountain of vegetables. He'll talk about wanting to lose weight - as he's reaching for a glass of whisky! He can't understand the relationship between alcohol and weight gain. Of course, I'm just a woman, so I have no idea what I'm talking about!
